    Quick question before I will explain my flow: ?an mod_cache perform revalidate with if-none-match only if max-age is expired in case if it configured in reverse proxy mode? My goal is to reduce a number of revalidation requests to our the origin server. For instance: The first request goes to the origin server and then mod_cache save a response in to the cache according to header cache-control: max-age. And only when max-age is expired then mod_cache will revalidate with if-none-match. Currently, mod_cache revalidate each request, regardless that max-age is defined or not. My configuration of Apache 2.4.3 (Windows), on linux I see the same behavior that I will show below.   • VPN still working after rebooting without client - DrayTek client shows "No Connection"

    My home network is a simple router + pc's setup, nothing fancy - the router has DHCP enabled for 192.168.0.X (255.255.255.0) and my PC picks up the address 192.168.0.82. There are no devices on my local lan in the 192.168.1.x range. On my pc i have the DrayTek VPN client, and a company i do some work for has a DrayTek Vigor router. The VPN client establishes a VPN to that remote company using an IPSec Tunnel (PreShared Key - no encryption) Last night i shut down my pc with the VPN tunnel still connected, when i turned my computer on this morning i accidentally clicked an RDP shortcut to 192.168.1.2 (a host in the remote company) and to my amazement it connected?!? My Question: Can an IPSec tunnel stay up some how after a reboot without use of the VPN client? (well, i can clearly see that it can) - where in windows is there visibility of this? how does my machine know where to route the packets? I appreciate any insights & thoughts!

    Hello, all, I'm having trouble implementing my OpenID provider with DNOA 3.4.3. Everything was going absolutely peachy until I needed AX support as well. I set AXFetchAsSregTransform in the web config, as recommended by Andrew at http://groups.google.com/group/dotnetopenid/browse_thread/thread/5629a24c0a7e8d99. Doing this caused me to get the exception "Sequence Contains More Than One Element" on my decide.aspx page, however, and I haven't been able to get past it. The following line is throwing the exception: Edit: Strangely enough, this is not the line throwing the error anymore. The SendResponse() is now triggering the exception ClaimsRequest requestedFields = ProviderEndpoint.PendingRequest.GetExtension(); ProviderEndpoint.SendResponse() Any thoughts on why this may be?   • Prosody mod auth external not working

    I installed mod_auth_external for 0.8.2 on ubuntu 12.04 but it's not working. I have external_auth_command = "/home/yang/chat/testing" but it's not getting invoked. I enabled debug logging and see no messages from that mod. Any help? I'm using the Candy example client.   • Turn Off Google Chrome Annoying Link Hover

    I like Google Chrome a lot, but there are two problems I have with it. The Address Bar search history feature that I want to turn off, and the feature where I hover over a hyperlink and in the bottom lefthand corner it shows a light blue hover tooltip about where that link goes. I really don't care where a given link goes and wish I could turn that feature off, even if I have to install a Google Chrome Extension. So, for these two reasons, I will not install Google Chrome as my primary browser and will remain with Firefox. So, is there a fix to turn the annoying link hover tooltip feature off?

  • stunnel client uses improper SNI when talking to Apache

    I have stunnel listening on port 80 and acting as a client connecting to Apache listening on port 443. Configuration is below. What I'm finding is that if I attempt to connect to localhost:80 the connection is fine but if I connect to 127.0.0.1:80 When I check Apache's logs it indicates that stunnel is using localhost as the SNI both times, but the HTTP request lists localhost in one case and 127.0.0.1 in another.   • ping/ssh networking problem with server from 1 particular windows xp laptop

    I am experiencing an odd problem with one specific server at my data centre connecting from my laptop. Basically the server is accessible from other machines in my house, but not from 1 particular laptop which is running windows XP. I have setup tcpdump on the server and wireshark on the laptop, and I can see ping echo request and reply packets that actually make it back to the wireshark on the laptop, but nothing shows in the ping console output like so; $ ping xxx.55.32.255 Pinging xxx.55.32.255 with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Ping statistics for xxx.55.32.255: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss), But I can see from the wireshark on my local laptop that the ping reply gets back...   • System32 files can be deleted in Windows 2008 but not in Windows 2003 [closed]

    I have been using Windows 2003 for a long time. There is a wonderful feature. I don't know the name of it but the feature is like this. You can rename or delete some important files inside C:\windows\system32. e.g. kerberos.dll. After a while, the deleted files will be automatically recovered. I think this is because those files are criticl enough that Windows cannot survive without them. However, in Windows 2008, this feature is gone. Instead, all the files in System32 are owned by TrustedInstaller. However, as a administrator, I can still take the ownserhip of the files and then delete them. Windwos 2008 won't recover the deleted files and hence the system is screwed next time it's reboot. So, I wonder why Windows 2008 dropping that wonderful feature. Was that auto-recovery feature also suffer from some issues? Does Windows 2008 have some other features that can prevent this type of disaster from happening?

    Hi, I've just setup 2x identical Rackspace Cloud instances and am doing some comparisons and benchmarks to compare Apache and Nginx. I'm testing with a 3.4k png file and initially 512MB server instances but have now moved to 1024MB server instances. I'm very surprised to see that whatever I try, Apache seems to consistently outperform Nginx....what am I doing wrong?   • User authentication -- username mismatch in IIS in ASP.NET application

    Last week, an employee's Active Directory username was changed (or a new one was created for them). For the purposes of this example, let's assume these usernames: Old: Domain\11111 New: Domain\22222 When this user now logs in using their new username, and attempts to browse to any one of a number of ASP.NET applications using only Windows Authentication (no Anonymous enabled), the system authenticates but our next layer of database-driven permissions prevents them from being authorized. We tracked it down to a mismatch of usernames between their logon account and who IIS thinks they are. Below are the outputs of several ASP.NET variables from apps running in a Windows 2008 IIS7.5 environment: Request.ServerVariables["AUTH_TYPE"]: Negotiate Request.ServerVariables["AUTH_USER"]: Domain\11111 Request.ServerVariables["LOGON_USER"]: Domain\22222 Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_USER"]: Domain\11111 HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name: Domain\11111 System.Threading.Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity.Name: Domain\11111 From the above, I can see that only the LOGON_USER server variable has the correct value, which is the account the user used to log on to their machine. However, we use the "AUTH_USER" variable for looking up the database permissions. In a separate testing environment (completely different server: Windows 2003, IIS6), all of the above variables show "Domain\22222". So this seems to be a server-specific issue, like the credentials are somehow getting cached either on their machine or on the server (the former seems more plausible). So the question is: how do I confirm whether it's the user's machine or the server that is botching the request? How should I go about fixing this?   • How can I reverse mouse movement (X & Y axis) system-wide? (Win 7 x64)

    Short Version I'm looking for a way to reverse the X and Y mouse axis movements. The computer is running Windows 7, x64 and Logitech SetPoint 6.32. I would like a system-level, permanent fix; such as a mouse driver modification or a registry tweak. Does anyone know of a solid way of implementing this, or how to find the registry values to change this? I'll settle quite happily for how to enable the orientation feature in SetPoint 6.32 for mice as well as trackballs. Long Version People seem never to understand why I would want this, and I commonly hear "just use the mouse right-side up!" advice. Dyslexia is not something which can be cured by "just reading things right." While I appreciate the attempts to help, I'm hoping some background may help people understand. I have a user with an unusual form of dyslexia, for whom mouse movements are backward. If she wants to move her cursor left, she will move the mouse right. If she wants the cursor to move up, she'll move the mouse down. She used to hold her mouse upside-down, which makes sophisticated clicking difficult, is terrible for ergonomics, and makes multi-button mice completely useless. In olden times, mouse drivers included an orientation feature (typically a hot-air balloon you dragged upward to set the mouse movement orientation) which could be used to set the relationship between mouse movement and cursor movement. Several years ago, mouse drivers were "improved" and this feature has since been limited to trackballs. After losing the orientation feature she went back to upside-down mousing for a bit, until finding UberOptions, a tweak for Logitech SetPoint, which would enable all features for all pointing devices. This included the orientation feature. And there was much rejoicing. Now her mouse has died, and current Logitech mice require a newer version of SetPoint for which UberOptions has not been updated. We've also seen MAF-Mouse (the developer indicated the version for 64-bit Windows does not support USB mice, yet) and Sakasa (while it works, commentary on the web indicate it tends to break randomly and often. It's also just a running program, so not system-wide.). I have seen some very sophisticated registry hacks. For example, I used to use a hack which would change the codes created by the F1-F12 keys when the F-Lock key was invented and defaulted to screwing my keyboard up. I'm hoping there's a way to flip X and Y in the registry; or some other, similar, system-level tweak out there. Another solution could be re-enabling the orientation feature for mice, as well as trackballs. It's very frustrating that input device drivers include the functionality we desperately need for an accessibilty concern, but it's been disabled in the name of making the drivers more idiot-proof.

What am I doing wrong? Or, is there a way to verbosely print out why gitweb is doing what it's doing (e.g. which config files were read, which settings were loaded from each file, etc.)?

  • PHP's page generation time takes 0.01s. 1/0.01 = 100; however i'm having problems reaching that number of request per seconds. Why?

    On average, my PHP page generation time is 10ms. So i should be able to execute 100 requests one after the other one (using a single core on the server, since that php is not multithreaded). However, i'm having problems reaching 50 pages per seconds. As of now i do 25 on avg., with a medium load. The application is really light, it consist in a read (<5KB) from a pool of SSDs, some read queries solved by indexes. Where should i look to solve this bottleneck?

Sure it also should be in blablaStorm family. So my specific questions are Do you think this methodology is viable? Do you know something similar?     Preconditions Team uses DVCS IDE supports comments parsing (like TODO and etc.) Tools like CodeCollaborator are expensive for budget Tools like gerrit are too complex for install or not usable Workflow Author publishes somewhere on central repo feature branch Reviewer fetch it and start review In case of some question/issue reviewer create comment with special label, like "REV". Such label MUST not be in production code -- only on review stage: $somevar = 123; // REV Why do echo this here? echo $somevar; When reviewer finish post comments -- it just commits with stupid message "comments" and pushes back Author pulls feature branch back and answer comments in similar way or improve code and push it back When "REV" comments have gone we can think, that review has successfully finished.
