    Ok, so I've read both PEP 8 and PEP 257, and I've written lots of docstrings for functions and classes, but I'm a little unsure about what should go in a module docstring. I figured, at a minimum, it should document the functions and classes that the module exports, but I've also seen a few modules that list author names, copyright information, etc. Does anyone have an example of how a good python docstring should be structured?

    Hello, I am confused about the two terms. What is the difference in browser-side javascript programming? I use dojo as framework. And there is only the concept of domNode. But browser debugger always told me something as htmlelement. Are they just the same thing with different names, or with some subtle differences? Thanks.

    I want to archive all .ctl files in a folder, recursively. tar -cf ctlfiles.tar `find /home/db -name "*.ctl" -print` The error message : tar: Removing leading `/' from member names tar: /home/db/dunn/j: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: 74.ctl: Cannot stat: No such file or directory I have these files: /home/db/dunn/j 74.ctl and j 75. Notice the extra space. What if the files have other special characters? How do I archive these files recursively?

  • MDX: How to exclude ancestors from being returned in this query?

    I have this MDX query: Exists([Group].[Group Hierarchy].allmembers, {[Group].[Group Full Name].&[121 - Group A], [Group].[Group Full Name].&[700000 - Group C]}) ... which works fine EXCEPT that it returns all of the ancestors of the specified groups as well. What I want is to return JUST the groups from the hierarchy with the specified Group Names (this is a type 2 dimension so there may be many at different levels). Any ideas?

In SSMS there are info related to the connection, but sometimes are not properly displayed and/or hidden. I know that it is possible to customize the status bar of each connection in SSMS, but how do you ensure that your developer is connecting to the right server before he runs a query? Is there any way to handle this? THANKS!

    Just one simple, specific question: I've got the string {var1}12345{var2}, and I want to get the variable names used. if (preg_match("/{([a-zA-Z0-9]*)}/g", $url, $matches)) { print_r($matches); } If I remove the global flag, it works, but I only get the first variable, as expected. Why isn't it working with a global flag? It works when I'm testing it with the Regex Tester

    I have a table of basketball leagues, a table af teams and a table of players like this: LEAGUES ID | NAME | ------------------ 1 | NBA | 2 | ABA | TEAMS: ID | NAME | LEAGUE_ID ------------------------------ 20 | BULLS | 1 21 | KNICKS | 2 PLAYERS: ID | TEAM_ID | FIRST_NAME | LAST_NAME | --------------------------------------------- 1 | 21 | John | Starks | 2 | 21 | Patrick | Ewing | Given a League ID, I would like to retrieve all the players' names and their team ID from all the teams in that league, so I do this: SELECT t.id AS team_id, p.id AS player_id, p.first_name, p.last_name FROM teams AS t JOIN players AS p ON p.team_id = t.id WHERE t.league_id = 1 which returns: [0] => stdClass Object ( [team_id] => 21 [player_id] => 1 [first_name] => John [last_name] => Starks ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [team_id] => 21 [player_id] => 2 [first_name] => Patrick [last_name] => Ewing ) + around 500 more objects... Since I will use this result to populate a dropdown menu for each team containing each team's list of players, I would like to group my result by team ID, so the loop to create these dropdowns will only have to cycle through each team ID instead of all 500+ players each time. But when I use the GROUP BY like this: SELECT t.id AS team_id, p.id AS player_id, p.first_name, p.last_name FROM teams AS t JOIN players AS p ON p.team_id = t.id WHERE t.league_id = 1 GROUP BY t.id it only returns one player from each team like this, overriding all the other players on the same team because of the use of the same column names. Is it possible somehow?

Could not load file or assembly 'HR' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040). I have replced DFI with HR in the code. Please help, Thank you

    Talking about javax.crypto.Cipher; I was trying to encrypt data using Cipher.getInstance("RSA/None/NoPadding", "BC"); but I got the exception: ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: too much data for RSA block Looks like is something related to the "NoPadding", so, reading about padding, looks like CBC is the best approach to use here. I found at google something about "RSA/CBC/PKCS#7", what is this "PKCS#7"? And why its not listed on sun's standard algorithm names?

  • Variable popen calls in C

    I'm trying to execute MS-DOS DEL commands inside a Win32 C program, and I already know that system and popen can be used for this. However, the problem is that both require string literals (type const char) for the commands, and I need something like the DOS equivalent of dir ~ | grep -P '/\d{7,8}\.exe$/' | rm, which obviously can't use string literals. Is there some other subprocess function in C that allows for char arrays as arguments for process names?

    In my new code I am not using strings to pass directory paths or file names. Instead I am using DirectoryInfo and FileInfo as they seem to encapsulate a lot of information. I have seen a lot of code that uses strings to pass directory information then they "split" and "mid" and "instr" in long incomprehensible statements until they get the part of the directory they are looking for. Is there any good reason to pass paths as strings?

    Hi All I have a report that groups by Company names. I have 2 formula fields (for two of the columns) that pulls the last record from a field. However, i noticed that when i run my reports, it does not show the last record for every group (even though this total line is in the Group Footer). Is there anyway in the formula field, i can specify that the last record must show for every group in my report?

  • Find all files in iphone project

    I'm curious if there's a way to search for files in the iPhone's directory ( the location is irrelevant). I am wanting to load in addresses from text files. The thing is additional files may be added and I want to dynamically be able to find the files and load in the data without hardcoding the file names to load in. Thanks a bunch!
