    I have the following HTML table: <table style="width: 100%;"> <tr> <td class="title_bar_left_border"></td> <td class="title_bar_middle"></td> <td class="title_bar_right_border"></td> </tr> </table> With the following css rules: .title_bar_left_border { BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(tray_left.gif); WIDTH: 3px; HEIGHT: 24px; } .title_bar_right_border { BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(tray_right.gif); WIDTH: 3px; HEIGHT: 24px; } .title_bar_middle { BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(tray_middle.gif); WIDTH: 100%; BACKGROUND-REPEAT: repeat-x; HEIGHT: 24px; } Any idea why this is the result? Instead of getting a nice table header with rounded corners you get this weird gap between the cells. Where are the gaps coming from? Besides fixing this ugly issue, I would like to understand the rationale as to why all browsers render the HTML this way.

    Looking at some code examples for HtmlHelpers, and I see declarations that look like: public static string HelperName(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper, ...more regular params ) I can't remember seeing this type of construct any where else - can someone explain the purpose of the "this"? I thought that by declaring something public static meant that the class did not need to be instantiated - so what is "this" in this case?

  • Wordpress auto-generated "canonical" link - get them to use a custom URL parameter?

    Hello - Does anyone know how to modify the Wordpress canonical links to add a custom URL parameter? I have a Wordpress site with a page that queries a separate (non-Wordpress) database. I passed the URL parameter "pubID" to display individual books and it is working OK. Example: http://www.uglyducklingpresse.org/catalog/browse/item/?pubID=63 But the individual books are not showing up properly in Google - the ?pubID parameter is stripped out. I think maybe this is because all the item pages have the same auto-generated "canonical" URL link tag in the source - one with the "pubID" parameter stripped out. Example: link rel='canonical' href='http://www.uglyducklingpresse.org/catalog/browse/item/' Is there a way to perhaps edit .htaccess to add a custom URL parameter to Wordpress, so that the parameter is not stripped out by permalinks and the "canonical" links? Or maybe there's another solution ... Thank you for any ideas!

I can correct the problem by writing cout << (a>temp); where the operator> is similarly defined and i get no errors. but my assignment requires (temp < a) to work so this is where i ask for help.     SELECT Transactions.TransactionNumber FROM Transactions WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=#11/23/12#)) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=#11/23/12#)); The above code returns all the transaction that happened between the specified dates. But I want those dates to be defined by the user every time the query is executed. I tried using the [] operators to have the user define the criteria in the WHERE, something like this: WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=[Input a Date])) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=[Input a Date])); But microsoft Access throws a Syntax error message. The same happens when I include the # (date operators) like this WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=#[Input a Date]#)) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=#[Input a Date]#)); Is there anopther way to manage dates that I'm not aware of or is asking a user for dates in a query out of the question

    Though I don't doubt this has been answered I cannot find a great match for my question. I have a table for which I'd like to filter rows based on whether or not they contain a hidden field matching a value.   • CSS: 100% of container height without modifying the container

    Yeah, this ugly question again. I'm writing some HTML that gets inserted into a page. I have no control over the rest of the page. The structure is something like: <table <tr <td rowspan="2"left column</td <td height="1"top row above content</td </tr <tr<td height="220"my content here</td</tr </table I can write whatever I want into that table cell (including style tags to pack in my CSS), but I can't touch anything outside of it, which means I can't set the height of any parent element (including html and body), add a doctype (it has none), etc - that already kills just about every solution I can find (all seem to be "add a doctype" and/or "give the parent container a fixed height"). What I want to do is simply have a <div fill the entire cell. Width is no problem but unsurprisingly height is being a massive pain. Writing "height: 100%" doesn't do anything unless the container has a fixed height (the height="220" attribute apparently doesn't count) or the div uses absolute positioning - and then it seems to want to use 100% of the window's height (and width even) instead of the cell's. The root of the problem is the left column varies in height, as does the content, and when the left column cell is larger than the content, it won't expand to fill the cell it's in. If I set a fixed height for the content, it'll be much larger than necessary most of the time, and if I don't, it doesn't take up all of the cell and leaves an ugly gap at the bottom.

    I'm having problems with an MBean that takes a Map<String, Object> as a parameter. If I try to execute it via JMX using a proxy object, I get an Exception: Caused by: javax.management.ReflectionException at org.jboss.mx.server.AbstractMBeanInvoker.invoke(AbstractMBeanInvoker.java:231) at org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:668) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unable to find operation updateProperties(java.util.HashMap) It appears that it attempts to use the actual implementation class rather than the interface, and doesn't check if this is a child of the required interface. The same thing happens for extended classes (for example declare HashMap, pass in LinkedHashMap). Does this mean it's impossible to use an interface for such methods? At the moment I'm getting around it by changing the method signature to accept a HashMap, but it seems odd that I wouldn't be able to use interfaces (or extended classes) in my MBeans. Edit: The proxy object is being created by an in-house utility class called JmxInvocationHandler.     I have a pivot table in Excel 2007 which I’ve pasted it into Word 2007 using Paste Special (Paste link) - Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object. The pivot table appears in Word and the link to Excel is working. The problem is that if the pivot table expands (for example, due to showing 12 months of data rather than six months) the link to the pivot table in Word will only show the range cells that were originally copied over with the pivot table. I understand why this happens. When I paste as a link to Word the underling field codes look like this: {LINK Excel.Sheet.8 "C:\Users\myAccount\Documents\testexcel.xlsx" "Sheet2!R1C1:R8C2" \a \p} The codes refer to a fixed area (e.g., Sheet2!R1C1:R8C2 ) of the Excel spreadsheet, and so when the pivot table expands, the expanded cells fall outside the area that is defined in the field codes. Is there some way to have the link refer to the pivot table itself rather than the cell range that happened to be originally copied over from Excel?

    Hey Everyone, I've been trying to code this page for a while, but my biggest problem is that I can't seem to get the photos perfectly positioned. For some reason, there is a small bottom padding in each <td>which is messing things up. Journeys are defined as a sequence of rows per id up until to end_yn == 1, also if end_ynnever becomes 1, the journey should also be numbered (see the expected outcome example). It is only possible to have end_yn == 0 journeys at the end of a collection of rows for an ID (as shown at row 4 for id 3). So either no end_yn == 1 has occured for that ID or that happened before the end_yn == 0-journey (see id == abc in the example). I know how to number using the data.table package, but I do not know which columns to combine in order to get the expected outcome. I've searched the data.table-tag on SO, but could not find a similar problem.   • Send custom data when initializing java WebService over soap

    Hello. I have a question about sending additional data over soap to the functions. My webService function requests only one integer, for example an getDocumentPrivilage(DocumentID). In another WebService user registered and he got an unique ID, so the other application can see who he is. So on Service one he registers, gets id and it has to send it to the other webservice tor the privilage. Id dont wish to rewrite the function so that it gets the unique ID (like this getDocumentPrivilage(uniqID,DocumentID)) but, the wish is that i would be able to create a client that sends this data at the initialization or somehow as some sort of parameter behind the function. Is this possible?? I tried the ServiceLifecycle but cant see any setting i've given in. Im using WebSphere CE for the server and Jax-ws Creating the webapp in java.   • Facebook PHP SDK - can't pass parameters to getLoginUrl()

    I'm using the Facebook PHP SDK for simple login with extended permissions. I'm using the example code from the SDK docs, but I found that I need to manually clear out the FB session data otherwise if($user) comes back as true even though the user is logged out. I have the app going to logout.php upon logout; this page clears out the session vars and redirects to the app home page. Once I clear out the FB session data, log in/log out works fine. However, it stops working if I pass $params to the getLoginUrl function.
