  • make java plugin use the browser certificates

    We have a java applet that communicates with a spring application running on tomcat and using spring's http invoker. We want to secure the applet using ssl with client authentication, we have a jsp page for login, after successful login the applet loads. The jsp page is secured with ssl, when the applet loads the http invoker inside the applet is doing a second handshake apparently not related to the browser handshake, OK, I don't mind that, but I want the java plugin to use browser certificates and client certificates but its not, I have to load the client certificate to the java plugin also using the java ControlPanel, and if my server's certificate is self signed then I have to load the server certificate also to the java ControlPanel and to the nrowser. Another thing is when the applet starts loading the java plugin pops a dialog asking for the client keystore password, I would like to avoid that. So to conclude: I would like the java plugin to use the browser's trusted certificates and client certificates, and to avoid the keystore password dialog that pops up. I have googled for it for two days and can't find any clue of how to accomplish that. I will appreciate any help. I'm using jdk 1.6.0 u23 and firefox 3.6.13.

  • Temporarily disable vim plugin without relaunching

    I'm using c-support in Vim. One of it's features is the automatic comment expansion. When I'm pasting code into Vim from an external editor, the comments are expanded (which gives me double-comments and messes up the paste - see below for example). I'd like to be able to disable the plugin, paste, then re-enable it, without relaunching Vim. I'm not sure if this is possible. The SO questions here, here and here all describe methods to disable plugins, but they all require me to close Vim, mess with my .vimrc or similar, and relaunch; if I have to close Vim, I might as well cat file1 >> myfile; vim myfile, then shift the lines internally, which will be just as quick. Is it possible to disable a plugin while running vim without relaunching, preferably in a way which allows me to map a hot-key toggle-plugin (so re-sourcing ~/.vimrc is alright; that's mappable to a hotkey [I imagine, haven't tried it yet])? However I am familiar with intelliJ and re-sharper so I would prefer use intelliJ. Has anyone used http://code.google.com/p/idea-android/"http://code.google.com/p/idea-android/? Is this any good? Should I just bite the bullet and learn Eclipse?

  • Eclipse keyboard shortcuts: "alt+shift+" vs. "shift+" vs. "ctrl+alt+" etc. -- Is there an underlying

    There are a zillion questions on SO about keyboard shortcuts in Eclipse, but there's I've always wondered if there is an underlying logic to the decisions of which shortcuts would be ctrl+alt+[some letter], and which would be just ctrl+[some letter] etc. Obviously there is a need to use a variety of combinations because there are only so many keys on the keyboard, but why, for example, is "add import" ctrl+shift+m, while "extract method" is alt+shift+m, instead of the other way around? I think if there is some underlying logic to these decisions, it will make it easier to remember more shortcuts without having to scan through the huge right-click menus to find them, and I won't accidentally use the wrong one as often.

I have recently started learning Java and decided to use NetBeans, mostly due to the much more simple interface. However, in Eclipse the build.xml file is flagged as having an error so my project no longer builds in Eclipse - it says that the default target ("help") doesn't exist (its in one of the Android build files referenced in build.xml and copmmand-line builds work just fine). So what do I need to do to keep Eclipse quiet?

    I've installed the newest Android SDK using eclipse's software updates feature to hit the resource at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/. After installing it, it seems like the SDK is integrated into Eclipse, but when I try to create a new project with a single blank activity in it, I get the following error: [2009-06-06 11:41:24 - TestProject] no classfiles specified [2009-06-06 11:41:24 - TestProject] Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1 This is using eclipse version 3.4.2 running on top of Mac OS 10.5.7 on a 32 bit processor. Is this a misconfiguration on my part? Have I missed a part of the installation?

  • Looking for a good dev environment for OSGi bundles

    Hi, I'm currently investigating in the field of dev environment for OSGi bundles. My goal is to find a way to develop, test and debug with ease the bundles I'll be coding. Besides, I have some "cultural" requirements. I want to be able to use java continuous integration servers (typically, Hudson) As a consequence of that first requirement, I want to have a repeatable, one-click build process. My typical tool for that is maven. And finally, being long-term Eclipse user, and having the m2eclipse at hand to merge my eclipse env with my maven one, I obviously want to be able to test and debug with that IDE. So far, here are the infos I know I can use (and have already tested) maven-bundle-plugin, maven-ipojo-plugin which both offer clean packaging facilities I have tested maven pax (and eclipse pax) and am not really satisfied with both : maven pax generates a very heavy project, where adding dependencies is very error-prone (the maven pax:import-bundle command line, with all its arguments, is a hell per se) I have taken a look at Karaf, which seems to have some nice direct maven provisionning, but I don't know how to integrate it with my Eclipse, besides using the traditionnal JPDA bridge. However, it seems to be more production-oriented than dev-oriented, and as such may require heavy configuration to fit my need (although the reading of its user manual doesn't revedal that). Have you got any ideas ? Some maven/eclipse plugins ?

  • How is the Tomcat temp directory location defined?

    I am running Tomcat bundled with Liferay5.2.3 and use Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo) as my IDE. I set up my Tomcat server in Eclipse as per this blog entry: http://www.jroller.com/holy/entry/developing_portlets_for_liferay_in. If I start Tomcat via the Eclipse server config, Liferay/Tomcat uses my C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp\ directory. However, if I start Tomcat directly using the startup.bat script, Liferay/Tomcat uses the Tomcat temp directory. I can't figure out if Eclipse, Liferay or Tomcat is deciding which temp directory to use or how to change it. I would prefer to use the Tomcat temp directory. I have this issue with both the Lifera/Tomcat bundles 5.5 and 6.0 (liferay-portal-tomcat-6.0-5.2.3.zip and liferay-portal-tomcat-5.5-5.2.3.zip). Anybody have any clues?

  • System.out.println() does not operate in Akka actor

    I am kind of baffled by this encointer. I am working an akka project that was created as a maven projecct and imported into eclipse using the mvn eclipse:eclipse command. the akka actor has the system println method just to make it easy to do read the functions and methods invoked. But when I export my java eclipse project eclipse warn me with following message: "JAR export finished with warnings. See details for additional information. myproject/src/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF was replaced by the generated MANIFEST.MF and is no longer in the JAR." Anyone know how I can avoid this when I export my project in eclipse?

    I've have not had any trouble deploying through eclipse until now. I'm guessing it might have to do with all the stuff I've added today a folder of .pdf and .tex files (in war/web-inf directory) a bit of JDO stuff and a servlet that reads the files in the directory and indexes them into the JDO Is there any way to find out what exactly is the problem?     This is related to an earlier question by a different user How to detect that code is running inside eclipse IDE I noticed that eclipse always launches programs with javaw rather than java. (This does not imply a program launched with javaw was launched from eclipse). I can find the arguments passed using RuntimeMXBean RuntimemxBean = ManagementFactory.getRuntimeMXBean(); List<String> lst=RuntimemxBean.getInputArguments(); for(int i=0;i<lst.size();i++) System.out.println(lst.get(i)); But this does not tell me whether it was launched using java or javaw. Is there any way to find it out? Another related question is why does eclipse use javaw to launch programs?

    Hi i have a problem with my Eclipse and the SDK (i have download and install the latest ADT Bundle for windows ) when i start my eclipse i get this problem : This Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 22.0.0 or above. Current version is 20.0.0. please update your SDK tools to the latest version i have tried the option : Help - check for updates But with no new update find then i try this one : How to Update your ADT to Latest Version In Eclipse go to Help Install New Software ---> Add inside Add Repository write the Name: ADT (or whatever you want) and Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ after loading you should get Developer Tools and NDK Plugins check both if you want to use the Native Developer Kit (NDK) in the future or check Developer Tool only click Next Finish But i dont have the option to click next to finish (the back , next and finish options are grey ) Then i try this method : Go here download latest version of ADT-22.0.4.zip (*) At Eclipse > Help > Install new software... > Uncheck Contact all update sites during install to find required software (last bottom preference) that will avoid any unwanted delays during install. then at the same screen (top) Click Add > Archive > select downloaded ADT-X.X.X.zip > follow on screen installation steps But had the same problem when it was to finish the installation.. no option to click ''next'' then i try this one : Help – Install New Software in the ADT menu. Type https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml in “Work with:” and Enter. You can see the “Developer Tools” item. Select it and click Next. Click Next one more. Click Finish accepting the terms of the license agreements. Click OK in the “Security Warning” window. Let the installer restart ADT after installing the tools.     In my admittedly somewhat short time as programmer, I have used many development environments on many platforms. Most notably, Eclipse/Linux, XCode/OSX, CLI/editor/Linux, VisualDSP/Blackfin/Windows and MSVC/Windows. (I used each one for several months) There are neat features in pretty much all of them. But somehow, I just can't find any in MSVC. Then again, so many people really seem to like it, so I am probably missing something here. So please tell me: What is so great about Visual Studio? Things I like: Refactoring tools in Eclipse Build error highlighting in XCode and Eclipse Edit-all-in-Scope in XCode Profiler in XCode Flexibility of Eclipse and CLI/editor Data plotting in VisualDSP Things I don't like Build error display in MSVC (not highlighted in code) Honestly, this is not meant to be a rant. Of course I am a Mac-head and biased as hell, but I have to use MSVC on the job, so I really want to like it.

  • Message Date/Time tag in Lotus Notes

    I've noticed that within Notes (8.5.2, basic client, fat client and iNotes) the date/time displayed on the eMail envelope AND the date/time on the message header is the same and appearently that time that Domino received the message. When using BES, the message forwarded to the BlackBerry by Domino/BES has the RECEIVED date/time on the envelope and the SENT date/time displayed in the message. In the basic/fat client with properties the sent time is viewable in one of the "Received" tags. Having the sent time easily viewable is helpful, especially if your trying to trouble-shoot a problem. Is this a configuration feature? Is it selectable in the client or in Domino? Thx

  • How can I get at (and delete) emails in the "Conflicts" folder in Outlook 2007

    I use Outlook 2007 at work. It is syncd to a BlackBerry and an iPad. This works fine on the surface, but I have noticed a lot of emails build up in a Conflicts folder that I can't see. There is also a "Sync Issues" folder that I can't see, containing log files from sync issues. None of this should be a problem except that emails that were previously flagged but have since been deleted still turn up in the Conflicts folder, and thus still turn up in the To-Do bar. (They also occupy space on the server and count to my mailbox limit.) Is there a way to get at either the Conflicts folder itself, or construct a search that returns all the emails in that folder, so I can get rid of them? I can certainly delete them if I search by title or whatever, but it's annoying.
