• What's the standard location of a 3D clipping box?

  The way I understand 3D rendering, polygons are transformed using several matrices, and they are then clipped if they are not inside a certain box, before projecting the box onto the screen. Before transformation, the visible area is typically a frustum, and after transformation, I am guessing it's a cube. This cube makes the clipping math easier than a frustum would. My question is, what's the 'standard' location/size for this clipping box? I can think of 3 possibilities: (0,0,0)-(1,1,1), (-0.5,-0.5,-0.5)-(0.5,0.5,0.5), (-1,-1,-1)-(1,1,1) Or is there no standard?

  I can't use the nltk wordnet lemmatizer because I can't download the wordnet corpus on my university computer due to access rights issues. I get the following error when I try to do so: ********************************************************************** Resource 'corpora/wordnet' not found. Please use the NLTK Downloader to obtain the resource: >>> nltk.download() Searched in: - '/home/XX/nltk_data' - '/usr/share/nltk_data' - '/usr/local/share/nltk_data' - '/usr/lib/nltk_data' - '/usr/local/lib/nltk_data' ********************************************************************** When I had the same issue at home, I could resolve it by two ways: Using nltk.download(), the standard way and Creating a new folder at location /home/XX/nltk_data and just pasting the corpus directory inside it. Now at the university I only have access to /home/XX/bin and not /home/XX directly. So is there anyway I could paste the wordnet corpus into /home/XX/bin and then somehow make nltk look for the corpus in that folder?

  Howdy all, I'm working with a UITextField that holds a localized currency value. I've seen lots of posts on how to work with this, but my question is: how do I re-apply currency formatting to the UITextField after every key press? I know that I can set up and use a currency formatter with: NSNumberFormatter *currencyFormatter = [[NSNumberFormatter alloc] init]; [currencyFormatter setNumberStyle:NSNumberFormatterCurrencyStyle]; ... [currencyFormatter stringFromNumber:...]; but I don't know how to hook it up. For instance, if the value in the field reads "$12,345" and the user taps the "6" key, then the value should change to "$123,456". Which callback is the "correct" one to do this in (should I use textField:shouldChangeCharactersInRange:replacementString: or a custom target-action) and how do I use the NSNumberFormatter to parse and re-apply formatting to the UITextField's text property? • Amazon S3 Change file download name

  I have files stored on S3 with a GUID as the key name. I am using a pre signed URL to download as per S3 REST API I store the original file name in my own Database. When a user clicks to download a file from my web application I want to return their original file name, but currently all they get is a GUID. How can I achieve this? My web app is in salesforce so I do not have much control to do response.redirects all download the file to the web server then rename it due to governor limitations. Is there some HTML redirect, meta refresh, Javascript I can use? Is there some way to change the download file name for S3 (the only thing I can think of is coping the object to a new name, downloading it, then deleting it). I want to avoid creating a bucket per user as we will have a lot of users and still no guarantee each file with in each bucket will have a unique name Any other solutions?

Now the child page has checkboxes, whose value i would like to pass to another child page with same master page behind it. Can i change the action=abc.aspx and method=post? How can i send all the checkbox values (checkbox.text = [email protected]) to the next page? there are lots of these values that need to pass to nex tpage.

  Is there a way to change (for the purpose of localization) the null placeholder in a binding in Cocoa? The bindings are set up in Interface Builder for a popup button. The two-way nature of the bindings as set up in IB is needed, so doing it programmatically is not really appealing. I am aware that the standard way of handling localizations of a nib file is by making one for each language, but since this is the only difference in the whole nib file between the language versions, it seems a bit excessive for a single string. If there is a way to modify a binding created in IB, I was thinning about doing it in the file's owner's awakeFromNib method.

Inside this view there's abutton where I fire the presentModalView... in the main view, not on NC, but it's parent view: ABVIEW NC NEWVIEW new attach a presentModalView... on ABVIEW, so [abview present...]; No problem till now. When it's the time to dismiss, after the temporary window (let's calls it NOTES) disappear, my ABVIEW with all the subviews change Y position from 0 to 20, the same height of the status bar.   I'm trying to set up a list of items that can be edited. I have a main view, with a UINavigationBar at the top and a UITableView directly under it. I'd like to have my "edit" button change to a "done" button on click, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I could do it in the code (not it interface builder), I could just replace it, but I can't even do that. I've seen some code using [self.navigationItem], but in my case self is a UIView. It also feels a bit odd to be using a UINavigationBar when I don't want navigation (this is one page only), but I want a toolbar with a title and and a button, so I don't think really have a choice.

• Overlaying image also fades when images change in IE6 jQ slideshow

  I have a pretty basic slideshow fading between images. On top of that slideshow I have a logo that is absolute positioned to stay partly over the slideshow. It works perfectly, but then there is IE6. In IE6 the part of the logo that is overlaying the slideshow also fades when the images change in the slideshow. I really do not want to have half the logo in all the pictures in the slideshow, but that seems to be the only solution right now.   When the mouse hovers over each column I'd like the tooltip to indicate whether that column is sortable.   I need to install two Perl modules on a web host. Let's call them A::B and X::Y. X::Y depends on A::B (needs A::B to run). Both of them use Module::Install. I have successfully installed A::B into a non-system location using perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/non/system/location make; make test; make install Now I want to install X::Y, so I try the same thing perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/non/system/location The output is $ perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/non/system/location/ Cannot determine perl version info from lib/X/Y.pm *** Module::AutoInstall version 1.03 *** Checking for Perl dependencies... (1.00) - A::B ...missing. ==> Auto-install the 1 mandatory module(s) from CPAN? [y] It can't seem to find A::B in the system, although it is installed, and when it tries to auto-install the module from CPAN, it tries to write it into the system directory (ignoring PREFIX). I have tried using variables like PERL_LIB and LIB on the command line, after PREFIX=..., but nothing I have done seems to work. I can do make and make install successfully, but I can't do make test because of this problem. Any suggestions? I found some advice at http://servers.digitaldaze.com/extensions/perl/modules.html to use an environment variable PERL5LIB, but this also doesn't seem to work: export PERL5LIB=/non/system/location/lib/perl5/ didn't solve the problem.

• ProgressBar not updating on change to Maximum through binding

The style came from http://mattserbinski.com/blog/look-and-feel-progressbar and the DebuggingConverter is a no-op converter that prints the value, type and parameter to the Console. I have verified that the converter for the Maximum is being called when my NumTubes property is changed. Basically, the ProgressBar won't redraw until the Value changes. So, if I have 2 tubes and 1 is failed, even if I add 20 more tubes, the bar is still half filled until the NumFailed changes, then the proportion is updated. I've tried adding spurious notifications of the NumFailed property, but that apparently doesn't work since the value didn't change. Ideas?

  I am trying to create an application on google app engine using struts2. Struts2 internally uses freemarker .One of the Freemarker framework classes suppose X internally uses a class javax.swing.Treenode which is not in google app engine jre white list. Now in order to run my application i created a new class X in the same package structure as it was in freemarker framework and copied the class to WEB-INF classes.Then When i run my application it run fine. The problem is that i want to take out the class X from my application sourcecode and move it to newly created jar and place it in WEB-INF/lib folder. So that i can reuse the code in multiple project and my code remains clean of the freemarker code. But when i run the application it picks the old class X from the original freemarker framework.As a result i get ClassNotFoundException. Can anyone provide any help such that i can change the ClassLoading order such that my jar containing X class loads first.

• Racket: change dotted pair to list

  I have a program that recursively calls a hashtable and prints out data from it. Unfortunately my hashtable seems to be saving data as dotted pairs so when I call the hashtable I get an error saying that there is no data for it because its tryign to search the hashtable for a dotted pair instead of a list. Is there an easy way to make the dotted pair into a regular list? IE im getting '("was" . "beginning") instead of '("was" "beginning") Is there a way to change this without re-writing how my hashtable store stuff? im using the let function to set a variable to this and then calling another function based on this variable (let ((data ( list-ref(hash-ref Ngram-table key) (random (length (hash-ref Ngram-table key)))))) is there a way to make the value stored in data just a list like this '("var1" "var2") instead of a dotted pair? edit: im getting dotted pairs because im using let to set data to the part of the hashtable's key and one of the elements in that hash.

• FileWatcher fires change event after file deletion

  Hi all, I'm using a FileWatcher to trigger processing of files as soon as they are added to a folder. After the file it is processed it is deleted. My problem is that after the file is deleted I get another file change event which is so close to the deletion than in some cases checking for File.Exists it tells that the file still exists. But of course some milliseconds later when looking to process the file it does not really exists.   I have looked here but still can't figure it out. How do I change the strip.text.x labels in a ggplot with faceting? Specifically I am using facet_grid with margins. The strip.text label for the margin is "(all)" - but since I am in a non-english speaking country I would rather write "Total" or something similar in my native tongue. opts(stip.text.x=c(levels(facetvariabel,"Total")) does not work.   Hi, I use the Searchable plugin with Grails I have the need to change the directory to which Compass points to, depending upon a UI choice by the user. Normally, this value is set in the compassConnection variable of the searchable map in grails-app/conf/Searchable.groovy, like so, and gets called at app startup time: searchable { compassConnection = new File( "/path/to/index/file/directory" ).absolutePath ... } To do what I need to do, I think that I need to get a handle into the compass config variable and then call config.setConnection("/new/path/to/index/dir") I don't know how I can get a reference to the config compass variable Am I right in assuming that I need to call setConnection(String) only, or is(are) there any other step(s) I need to take?   Say I create a text element like this: $firstName = new Zend_Form_Element_Text('firstName'); $firstName->setRequired(true); Whats the best way to change the default error message from: Value is empty, but a non-empty value is required to a custom message? I read somewhere that to replace the message, just use addValidator(..., instead (NO setRequired), like this: $firstName = new Zend_Form_Element_Text('firstName'); $firstName->addValidator('NotEmpty', false, array('messages'=>'Cannot be empty')); but in my testing, this doesn't work - it doesn't validate at all - it will pass with an empty text field. Using both (addValidator('NotEmp.. + setRequired(true)) at the same time doesn't work either - it double validates, giving two error messages. Any ideas? Thanks!

  I am using MS Access 2003 and I have a form with two subforms (subform1 and subform2) which are not nested. They both display tabular data on them so they cannot be nested. I would like to change the recordsource on subform2 based on a value in the current record on subform1. I have tried to put the code in the oncurrent event of subform1 but I cannot seem to refer to the recordsource in subform2 from subform1. From subform1 I have tried me.parent!subform2.form.recordsource but I get a runtime error ‘2455’ You have entered an expression that has an invalid reference to the property form/report. Any ideas?

  I've created a PreferenceActivity that allows the user to choose the theme he wants to apply to the entire application. When the users selects a theme, this code is executed: if (...) { getApplication().setTheme(R.style.BlackTheme); } else { getApplication().setTheme(R.style.LightTheme); } But, despite I've checked with the debugger that the code is being executed, I can't see any change in the user interface.
