• How do I extract excel data from multiple worksheets and put into one sheet?

  In a workbook I have 7 sheets(Totals and then Mon to Sat),I want to extract rows which have the word "CHEQ" in its cell (this is a dropdown list with two options-CHEQ/PAID)from all sheets. On my front sheet I used this formula: =IF(ROWS(A$13:A13)>$C$10,"",INDEX(Monday!A$3:A$62,SMALL(IF(Monday[Paid]=$A$10,ROW(Monday[Paid])-ROW(Monday!$I$3)+1),ROWS(A$13:A13)))) This formula works fine for one worksheet (eg. Monday) but is it possible to show the extracted rows from all 6 sheets on the front page? I only have Excel NOT Access. • How to fill sequence in Excel from ranges given in another sheets?

  I have an Excel sheet where two columns (say J and K) among data in sheet1 are as follows: J ------------ K 1 ----------- 25 26 --------- 50 101 ------ 150 Which are some ranges. I have another sheet where I have column (let's say I), which I want to update it to have the values as indicated by the range; i.e. column values of I to be 1,2,3,...25,26,27,...50,101,102,103,...150 (vertically). Note that ranges in J-K are not always continuous (e.g. gap between 50 and 101) and not always in the right order. I'm trying to find some automated way to achieve that, instead of manually copying the starting value of the range (from I) and then dragging down sequentially until the ending value (from J) for every individual I and J value, which is a very huge set of data. Is there any way to help doing that? Note: I'm using Microsoft Excel 2013, but a solution for excel 2010 or 2007 is more than welcomed...

• Advanced (?) Excel sorting

  First of all, I'd like to admit that I don't really know anything about Excel, but I have tried to look up a solution to this in Excel books and Googling. Here's what I'm trying to do: I have a really long spreadsheet There are 7 columns total, but only two columns that I'm most interested in. Here's an example CSV that is much more simple than my actual dataset, but the search/sort is analogous: John, Apple Dave, Apple Dave, Orange Steve, Apple Steve, Orange Steve, Kiwi Bob, Apple Bob, Banana I'm interested in extracting the entire rows (all of the columns) that meet the following criteria: ["Apple"] OR ["Apple" and "Orange"] NOT ["Apple" and "Orange" and Anything Else] NOT ["Apple" and Anything that isn't Orange] So with the above CSV, I would get the entire rows for John and Dave, but not Steve and not Bob. I started doing this manually, and will likely finish by the time this question has an answer, but I would like to know this for future reference. Thanks!

• Access 2007: How can I make this EXPRESSION less complex?

  Access is telling me that my new expression is to complex. It used to work when we had 10 service levels, but now we have 19! Great! My expression is checking the COST of our services in the [PriceCharged] field and then assigning the appropriate HOURS [Servicelevel] when I perform a calculation to work out how much REVENUE each colleague has made when working for a client. The [EstimatedTime] field stores the actual hours each colleague has worked. [EstimatedTime]/[ServiceLevel]*[PriceCharged] Great. Below is the breakdown of my COST to HOURS expression.   I've spent the last two hours trying to create an FTP user so I can transfer some files over to my Wordpress blog folder. /var/www/sergiotapia.me I'm using vsftpd and Ubuntu 12.04 for my FTP server and I've read tons of documentation, none of which seem to work. I still cannot log in with the FTP user, let alone test if I even have the read/write file permissions. Can a Linux guru here, help me out with a small step by step? I'm comfortable with the terminal and nano, so that's not an issue - I'll SSH into my box. Just tell me what to do and what commands to run. Specifically, this user needs to have read and write access to the /var/ folder and anything within it. I want to have 1 user that can do whatever the heck he wants on my Ubuntu 12.04 VPS machine.

  I want to create an encrypted tar but also I want to have a log of what tar has compressed, I'm using the following command: tar -cvvf - --files-from=/root/backup.cfg | openssl des3 -salt -k backuppass | dd of=/root/tmp/back.encrypted But I need to have a log of tar's stdout. I don't know how to get it, because If I use "" in tar command openssl result is not correct.   I'm trying to create a direct connection to a hardware device via RS232 serial connection. Am using a USB to Serial adapter and works fine in WinXP but the option seems to have disappeared in Win7. This is the only connection option available for this piece of hardware so I have no choice. Currently have a netbook with WinXP installed purely for interfacing with this hardware. In XP it was just a matter of creating an "Advanced connection" and then "Directly to another computer" etc, I can find no such options in Win7.

Example : Starting Folder: Dog.jpg Cat.jpg The following command works great at creating a folder for each filename in the current working directory. for %i in (*) do md "%~ni" Result Folder: \Dog\ \Cat\ Dog.jpg Cat.jpg I need to take this one step further and move the file into the folder. • Looking for WYSIWYG tool to create and edit HTML5 based presentations (slides)

  There are a lot of different implementations for HTML5 based slide presentations out there, like Google Slides or S5. But all that I have seen so far, seem to need a person being able to (and willing to) read and write HTML-Code. My company still uses Powerpoint, but some people are quite unhappy about its limitedness, e.g. the lack of possibilites to embed animation (other than just appear/disappear) without using flash. I'd love to suggest a state-of-the-art solution based on HTML5, but I don't even need to think about suggesting a solution where the project people need a techie to add or edit the content of a slide. I am not looking for an editor for non-technies to create complex HTML5/javascript based animations, of course, those should be done by a developer... basically non-technies should be capable of doing the stuff they are doing in powerpoint now.   I am trying to convert a list of property id numbers that has a standard format of 0000-A-00000-00-00, where my worksheet has the various combinations of 1-A-123 10-B-1234 Ideally they would read as follows 0001-A-00123-0000-00 0010-B-01234-0000-00 I've tried using the custom number formatting but it doesn't like the letter in the middle of the number. I didn't know if my only option was to break them apart and then put them back together again. I would accept a solution that merely put the leading zeros at the front of the number, (max is 4 characters) so the result could look like 0001-A-123

While each file is structured the same, the information within sheet 1 and 2 (for example) is different. So it can’t be combined into one file with everything in one sheet!   I'm trying to setup Gitosis on CentOS 6.2 but have some doubts/problems about it. I read this docs here, here and here but it's unclear to me where to configure where repositories are created. My server has a partition /data where I create a directory and called /gitrepos. I want all the repos created under that directory. By default if I run the command: gitosis-init < /home/reynierpm/reynierpm.pub I get this Initialized empty Git repository in /root/repositories/gitosis-admin.git/ Reinitialized existing Git repository in /root/repositories/gitosis-admin.git/ And I want this repos created under /data/gitrepos, any help?   I have a column of email addresses on sheet 2 col A (but I could put them on sheet 1 if it would make it easier / faster) that I want to remove from sheet 1 col D if matched (there may be 2 or more occurences of the same email to be removed/cleared).   I'm having some troubles with one of my servers. I've done an application with two servers, one the frontend that grabs the data of server API (Ubuntu server). Well, yesterday had a lot of visits and the API server stop functioning but: -I can do stuff in MySQL by SSH. -The memory usage is ok. -The logs are ok. -The bandwitch usage is ok. -If i restart the server or Apache2, function by some time (3-4 minutes). And the most important i think if i tries to access to API (Is rest-style with http) it puts me the Firefox error "The connection has been reset". I'd tried: -Restart the server -Restart Apache2 -Restart MySQL -Viewed the logs of Apache2/MySQL I don't know too much about systems so i don't know what to do more.

• Unable to create a Windows 7 system image of a failing hard drive

  The hard disk of my one year old T400 Thinkpad has started failing periodic hardware tests. I get a "Targeted Read Test Failed" error. The "SMART short self test" times out. I am now trying to create a Windows 7 System image of the hard disk but it fails without giving any specific error messages. I tried using Comodo Backup but got an error (code 101117) there as well. I have copied the important files in Dropbox but would like to take a full System backup as I have plenty of software installed on the machine. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can take a backup of the system image ?

  I'm currently wanting to deploy a setup to around 300 Macs. I have most of it scripted, but I'm having trouble creating a working alias to a samba share from the command line. I tried copying it from one Mac to another, but it loses its status as an alias, and instead OSX opens it in TextEdit. From a hexdump, it also looks like it has machine-specific information. So, say I wanted to create an alias to 'smb://server/share' on the desktop from the command line, how would I do that? I have also tried a tell in AppleScript, but it complained about the syntax (specifically, too many slashes, seemingly taking about smb://). Thanks.
