• How to center map on marker and open marker's InfoWindow in one method

  I'm using Google Map APIv2. On my webpage I've a sidebar containing a list of markers with onclick event executing showDetails method, that looks like: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); }; The problem is that i cannot both panTo and openInfoWindowHtml in one method, it pans but won't open tooltip and when i change method to: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); }; it opens tooltip but won't center map to the marker's anchor coordinates. Even using wait function doesn't solve my problem. What am I doing wrong?

• Web service can't open named pipe - access denied

  Hi All, I've got a C++ service which provides a named pipe to clients with a NULL SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES as follows: hPipe = CreateNamedPipe( lpszPipename, PIPE_ACCESS_DUPLEX | FILE_FLAG_OVERLAPPED, PIPE_TYPE_BYTE | PIPE_READMODE_BYTE | PIPE_WAIT, PIPE_UNLIMITED_INSTANCES, BUFSIZE, BUFSIZE, 0, NULL); There is a dll which uses this pipe to get services. There is a c# GUI which uses the dll and works fine. There is a .net web site which also uses this dll (the exact same one on the same PC) but always gets permission denied when it tries to open the pipe. Any one know why this might happen and how to fix it? Also does anyone know of a good tutorial on SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES because I haven't understood the msdn info yet. Thanks, Patrick

• C# CF: How to open specific file extension with my program

  Hi, Im developing a mobile application in dot net Compact framework. I managed to edit the registry HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT so that a click on file with .xyz extension will open my application. basically, i need to do some operation on this file when it's clicked. however, i realise that if i do that the first time, it reaches program.cs at static void Main. but when the program is running and i click on the file with .xyz extension again, it doesnt loads the program static void Main. i tried setting breakpoints at the form that is currently running but still nothing. so where does it go to? how can i detect file .xyz is clicked and do something??

• Piwik Web Analytics - Anyone with experience of it?

Piwik looks like a strong contender in the analytics space (and I'm surprised I haven't heard about it before) but I want to be sure I'm not throwing the baby out with the bathwater by swapping to it. Does anyone have any experience with this software and - in particular - are there any people out there who've tried customising the code or developing their own plugin?

• Open Source sound engine

  When I started using SoundEngine (from CrashLanding and TouchFighter), I had read about a few people recommending not to use it, for it was, according to them, not stable enough. Still it was the only solution I knew of to play sounds with pitch and position control without learning C++ and OpenAL, so I ignored the warnings and went on with it. But now I'm starting to worry. The 2.2 SDK introduced AVFoundation. Using both SoundEngine from CrashLanding (for sounds) and AVAudioPlayer (for music), I found out SoundEngine behaves strangely when the only existing AVAudioPlayer is released (all sounds stop until a new AVAudioPlayer is initiated). Around the same time as the 2.2 SDK came out, the CrashLanding sample code was mysteriously removed from the ADC site. I'm worried there are more bad surprises to come. My question is, is anyone aware of an Open Source alternative to SoundEngine? Maybe even a C++ library that uses OpenAL?

• Reading Code - helpful visualizers and browser tools

  Hi! I find myself reading 10 times more code than writing. My IDEs all are optimized to make me edit code - with completion, code assist, outlines etc. However if I'm checking out a completely new project: getting into the application's logics isn't optimized with these IDE features. Because I cannot extend what I don't fully understand. If you for example check out a relatively new project, frama-c, you realize that it has got plugins that are helpful to gain insight into "unfamiliar code": http://frama-c.com/plugins.html - However of course the project has a different scope. What I'm fully aware of. I'm looking for something that does helpful things for code-reading. Like: providing a graph, - reverse engineering UML e g., showing variable scopes showing which parts are affected by attempted modifications visualizing data-flow semantics showing tag-lists of heavily utilized functions ... My hope is that something like that exists. - That there're some Eclipse plugins I don't know or that there's a code-browser that has some of these features?

  Hello, On my server, I have following setting: open_basedir /home/ :/usr/lib/php :/usr/local/lib/php :/tmp/ :/usr/local/ :/usr/bin Now, I am little bit confused about ending / in the / home / setting, does that mean that all subfolders inside home have same rights? or does it mean that only home files can be accessed? So, basically what is the main difference between: /home/ and /home With example if possible Thank you in advance.

My next step is to take that output and write a script to query each package's license. Anyone got an easier idea?

• Someone selling my GPL theme

  I'm having a tough time trying to figure out the best way to handle this. I've created a few themes last year, released them under a GPL license, and pretty much forgot about them. My goal was to put them out publicly as samples of my work. I've recently come across a site and was shocked they are selling one of my themes among several other themes (not mine) and other support and package systems. Anyway needless to say I'm not happy about this. I did not intend for those themes to be sold, and if they are to be sold, at least I would expect a percentage of those sales. I contacted the website asking how many they sold and that I'm the author of one of the themes they were selling. I eventually received a reply that my theme is a GPL theme and that this license allows them to sell it without compensation to me. WTF? Just the way the reply was worded pissed me off. There is no way to comment on the site to inform possible buyers that those themes can be downloaded from my site. What can I do about this? I realize now it was a bad choice to release them under that license. Is it possible to take back the theme from public distribution or is it out forever. Can I change it from GPL to another license at this point? Will that be sufficient to stop the sale of my theme in the future? Any insights are appreciated.

• Making GUI applications on Linux/Windows. What languages/tools to use?

  My student group and I are trying to continue working on a project we worked on this semester over the summer to become a professional, deployable app. We originally did it in Adobe AIR but it seems now that the computers this program will be running on will be very slow, maybe 600mhz and 128-256mb ram so flash just isn't going to cut it. It is basically a health diagnosis application that we will be shipping out to impoverished countries. Now comes the real question. We are wondering what language to rebuild our application in. It has to have a good gui builder associated with it, like adobe flex/air gui builder or visual studio's gui builder but the application should run on linux primarily, and if it can run on windows thats just a plus. We are all students too without really any outside help so whatever we decide to do this in there must be ample documentation available when we hit problems. Some things we have considered so far are using python and glade or c# and monodevelop, but again we really are not experts on any of this which is why I am asking for help as I would rather spend the time now choosing the right tools instead of wasting time down the line when we hit a roadblock. • SWT Filedialog Open into home folder

  I want to open a FileDialog window into the user home folder (i.e. /home/user or /Users/unsername) I read the user home folder, using System.getProperty: String homefolder = System.getProperty(user.home); And the variable containts the correct home folder. But when i set the filterpath in FileDialog, it opens (in linux) only the /home level not entering into the user home dir. • Facebook like button issue.

  Hello community, We're having some trouble getting our like button to work. It seemed to work last week but suddenly it's stopped working. Basically when clicking "Like", we get an error saying: You failed to provide a valid list of administators. You need to supply the administors using either a "fb:app_id" meta tag, or using a "fb:admins" meta tag to specify a comma-delimited list of Facebook users. • Facebook Open Graph Not Showing Object Title

  I'm having conflicting reports for our users that people that share Object Graph objects to their wall, are sometimes showing the Object title and other times not. Specifically, every test I do on my own account shows the Object Title, but on their Mobile apps - it doesn't appear. I've tested the Open Graph debugger.So I have a couple of questions: Is there a length limit on the number of characters? Does Facebook not show the whole Object.title on Mobile? Does Facebook scrap the OG tags and if it can't find them or if it timeout do they not receive them? • Watir: Need to double click on an element to open custom popup

  Hello, I am a newbie in WATIR. The problem I am facing is - The application I am testing has thumbnails (like Windows icons) placed on the page and I need to double click it. On doing that, an custom popup (ajax popup implemented in javascript) will open. The fire_event("ondblclick") is not working for me. I also tried 'click' twice but that too is not helping. Is there any other way of handling this? Your help is highly appreciated.

• How to open different App version for one given file extension

  We have a data files with an extension ".ppx" for our business app here. Users will typically have multiple versions of the application installed (side by side) for example version 1 and version 2. The ppx files are xml files and they contain the version of the app they were created from (v1 or v2). Lets say that we have AFileCreatedWithAppv1.ppx and AFileCreatedWithAppv2.ppx opens with version 1 or version 2 of our app respectivly when they both have the same file extension? It must be doable since that is what Visual Studio does. In fact, they even provide different icons for the same .sln extension to indicate what Visual Studio version it will open with. I learned that Visual Studio is using the Selector or Launcher in between, but then again, how do they change the icons in Windows? cheers :)

• Rotate a feature Image in Open Layers

  I have an open layers map. It adds and removes my "imageFeature" every 10secs or so. I have a JSON feed that gives me the rotation that I need, I have a request to get that rotation and set it as a variable of rotationv. Everything works but the fact when the image is recreated it does not update the rotation. My code is as follows: JSON request: var rotationv = (function () { rotationv = null; $.ajax({ 'async': false, 'global': true, 'url': urldefault, 'dataType': "json", 'success': function (data) { rotationv = data.rotation; } }); return rotationv })(); Creating image feature: imageFeature = new OpenLayers.Feature.Vector( new OpenLayers.Geometry.Point(mylon, mylat), { rotation: rotationv } ); The image is set in the styling elsewhere. Why does this not rotate my image?

• cahoots - zend framework application is not running

  hello everyone, I downloaded cahoots from sourceforge.net. It is a zend framework application. Very nicely done and I must say that it should be a nice tutorial for everyone who is struggling to learn Zend framework. But my problem is that even after reading the instructions this application is still not running. The application just doesn't run at all giving an error message. I have tried my best. no success :( Also I wanted to execute the application as "http://localhost/cahoots" but it runs by this URL "http://localhost/cahoots/public". why is it so.? I am using XAMPP v 1.7.1 with mod-rewrite enabled. Please guide me through the process. Any good tutorials on zend framework with zend tool would be appreciable. I want to learn this framework. Thanks
