  • Weirdest occurence ever, UIButton @selector detecting right button, doing wrong 'else_if'?

    - by Scott
So I dynamically create 3 UIButtons (for now), with this loop: NSMutableArray *sites = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; NSString *one = @"Constution Center"; NSString *two = @"Franklin Court"; NSString *three = @"Presidents House"; [sites addObject: one]; [one release]; [sites addObject: two]; [two release]; [sites addObject: three]; [three release]; NSString *element; int j = 0; for (element in sites) { UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; //setframe (where on screen) //separation is 15px past the width (45-30) button.frame = CGRectMake(a, b + (j*45), c, d); [button setTitle:element forState:UIControlStateNormal]; button.backgroundColor = [SiteOneController myColor1]; [button addTarget:self action:@selector(showCCView:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [button setTag:j]; [self.view addSubview: button]; j++; } The @Selector method is here: - (void) showCCView:(id) sender { UIButton *button = (UIButton *)sender; int whichButton = button.tag; NSString* myNewString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", whichButton]; self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; UINavigationBar *cc = [SiteOneController myNavBar1:@"Constitution Center Content"]; UINavigationBar *fc = [SiteOneController myNavBar1:@"Franklin Court Content"]; UINavigationBar *ph = [SiteOneController myNavBar1:@"Presidents House Content"]; if (whichButton = 0) { NSLog(myNewString); [self.view addSubview:cc]; } else if (whichButton = 1) { NSLog(myNewString); [self.view addSubview:fc]; } else if (whichButton = 2) { NSLog(myNewString); [self.view addSubview:ph]; } } Now, it is printing the correct button tag to NSLog, as shown in the method, however EVERY SINGLE BUTTON is displaying a navigation bar with "Franklin Court" as the title, EVERY SINGLE ONE, even though when I click button 0, it says "Button 0 clicked" in the console, but still performs the else if (whichButton = 1) code. Am I missing something here?

  • SubViewTwoController undeclared (first use in this function) (obj-c)

    - by benny
Ahoy hoy everyone :) Here is a list of links. You will need it when reading the post. I am a newbie to Objective-C and try to learn it for iPhone-App-Development. I used the tutorial linked in the link list to create a standard app with a simple basic Navigation. This app contains a "RootView" that is displayed at startup. The startup screen itself contains three elements wich all link to SubViewOne. I have got it to work this far. So what i want to change is to make the second element link to SubViewTwo. When i "Build and Go" it, i get the following errors: RootViewController.m: SubViewTwoController *subViewTwoController = [[SubViewTwoController alloc] init]; // SubViewTwoController undeclared (first use in this function) and in SubViewTwoController.m [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Releases the view if it doesn't have a superview no superclass declared in @interface for ´SubViewTwoController´ and the same thing after - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; I think you will also need the header files, so here they are! RootViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface RootViewController : UITableViewController { IBOutlet NSMutableArray *views; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet NSMutableArray *views; @end SubViewOneController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface SubViewOneController : UIViewController { IBOutlet UILabel *label; IBOutlet UIButton *button; } @property (retain, nonatomic) IBOutlet UILabel *label; @property (retain, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIButton *button; - (IBAction) OnButtonClick:(id) sender; @end and SubViewTwoController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface SubViewTwo : UIViewController { IBOutlet NSMutableArray *views; } @end I would be really great if you would leave your ideas with a short explanation. Thanks a lot in advance! benny

  • Troubleshooting FORM POST problems

    - by brettr
    I'm using the following code to submit to a WCF service. I keep getting an error that the key is invalid. I have a webpage on the same server that I submit the same data (but different key) using a FORM POST. It works fine that way. I put the URL below all in a URL (including valid key from server webpage) and get the key is invalid error. I'm thinking the data I'm submitting through the iPhone isn't really going across as a FORM POST but rather as a URL. Is there anything I may be doing wrong in the following code or any other suggestions? NSString *stringForURL = @"https://abc.com/someservice.aspx"; NSURL *URL=[[NSURL alloc] initWithString:stringForURL]; NSMutableURLRequest *request = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:URL]; NSString *request_body = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"prop1=value1&key=%@", [@"r2xHEuzgDTQEWA5Xe6+k9BSVrgsMX2mWQBW/39nqT4s=" stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; NSData *postData = [request_body dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:YES]; NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", [postData length]]; [request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Length"]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [request setValue:@"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type"]; [request setHTTPBody:postData]; NSURLConnection *connection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:self]; [NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:1]; self.receivedData = [[NSMutableData data] retain];

  • Why I got some memory problems?

    - by Tattat
    I got this error from XCode: objc[8422]: FREED(id): message release sent to freed object=0x3b120c0 I googled and find that is related to the memory. But I don't know which line of code I go wrong, any ideas? @implementation MyAppDelegate @synthesize window; @synthesize viewController; - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { // Override point for customization after app launch [window addSubview:viewController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [self changeScene:[MainGameMenuScene class]]; } - (void)dealloc { [viewController release]; [window release]; [super dealloc]; } - (void) changeScene: (Class) scene { BOOL animateTransition = true; if(animateTransition){ [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft forView:window cache:YES]; //does nothing without this line. } if( viewController.view != nil ) { [viewController.view removeFromSuperview]; //remove view from window's subviews. [viewController.view release]; //release gamestate } viewController.view = [[scene alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, IPHONE_WIDTH, IPHONE_HEIGHT) andManager:self]; //now set our view as visible [window addSubview:viewController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; if(animateTransition){ [UIView commitAnimations]; } }

  • No method found compiler warning

    - by Magic Bullet Dave
I have create a class from a string, check it is valid and then check if it responds to a particular method. If it does then I call the method. It all works fine, except I get an annoying compiler warning: "warning: no '-setCurrentID:' method found". Am I doing something wrong here? Is there anyway to tell the compiler all is ok and stop it reporting a warning? The here is the code: // Create an instance of the class id viewController = [[NSClassFromString(class) alloc] init]; // Check the class supports the methods to set the row and section if ([viewController respondsToSelector:@selector(setCurrentID:)]) { [viewController setCurrentID:itemID]; } // Push the view controller onto the tab bar stack [self.navigationController pushViewController:viewController animated:YES]; [viewController release]; Cheers Dave

  • How can I load a view based on how long I hold a UIButton?

    - by Thomas
Hello all, I've searched the net and documentation, but haven't found anything quite like what I'm trying to do. I'm working on an app where I want to load one view if a UIButton is held for x seconds, another if it's held for x+y seconds, etc. I found this tutorial. The problem I'm running into is, how do I switch the length of the button press? The tutorial switched the number of taps. -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { NSSet *allTouches = [event allTouches]; switch ([allTouches count]) { case 1: // Single touch { // Get the first touch. UITouch *touch = [[allTouches allObjects] objectAtIndex:0]; switch ([touch tapCount]) { case 1: // Single Tap. { // Start a timer timer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:2 target:self selector:@selector(showAlertView:) userInfo:nil repeats:NO]; [timer retain]; } break; case 2: // Double tap. break; } } break; case 2: // Double touch { } break; default: break; } } Any suggestions? Thanks! Thomas

  • UIView frame origin doesn't set good

    - by Infinity
    Hi guys! Here is my code: frame = _pageContentView.frame; NSLog(@"%f; %f; %f; %f;", frame.origin.x, frame.origin.y, frame.size.width, frame.size.height); frame.size.height = pageContentView.frame.size.height; NSLog(@"%f; %f; %f; %f;", frame.origin.x, frame.origin.y, frame.size.width, frame.size.height); _pageContentView.frame = frame; NSLog(@"%f; %f; %f; %f;", _pageContentView.frame.origin.x, _pageContentView.frame.origin.y, _pageContentView.frame.size.width, _pageContentView.frame.size.height); And the NSLog outputs these values: 0.000000; 0.000000; 317.648956; 0.000000; 0.000000; 0.000000; 317.648956; 768.000000; 0.000007; 0.000004; 317.648956; 768.000000; Can you see? • Android TextView Linkify problem with phone numbers and application version number

    - by Gaks
I have a problem with TextView and autoLink feature. I have an about screen in my application with some information like support phone number, email address, website URL and application version in form like 01.01.01 After setting autoLink="all" on the textView, all values are linked fine - except that version number 01.01.01 is linked as the phone number as well. Is there some way to exclude this text fragment from linkifing?

  • Height of screen in portrait mode only?

    - by user246114
Hi, How can I get the height of the device for portrait mode? I have to create a bitmap (which is zoomable) and I just want to get a rough idea what the tallest height should be. getResources().getDisplayMetrics().heightPixels; does the above return the height, in portrait mode only? I'm not binding my UI to this absolute value, it's just a rough fit, Thanks

  • Android multiple screen sizes with same density

    - by droidy
I'm confused regarding the densities. I see that with medium density, the screen resolution could be either 320x480, 480x800, or 480x854. So if I have an image thats 300px wide in the mdpi folder, how is it going to look the same size on all 3 different screen sizes (mainly 320x480 vs the other 2)? And by look the same size, I mean scale to be bigger or smaller depending upon the screen size. Thanks.

  • UITableView - Select nearest row after row deletion.

    - by sunnycmf
like build in apple notes app, after you swipe to delete the selected row, it will select the nearest available row automatically. The logic should be: if row count 0 then if deleted_row == last row then select deleted_row_index-1 row else select deleted_row_index+1 row end end i have try to implement the above logic in the commitEditingStyle event, but the selection fail. the selectRowAtIndexPath logic just don't work in this event, if i apply it in a button, it works. any idea?

  • TFS Client APIs for creating workitem templates?

    - by amazedsaint
Of course, it is pretty possible to create work items, get a list of work items etc in TFS. In addition to this, we need to have the functionality of allowing our users to create their own work item templates, for various file types. Whether the TFS Client APIs are capable of uploading work item templates to TFS server?

  • Making large toolbars like the iPod app

    - by andybee
I am trying to create a toolbar programatically (rather than via IB) very similar to the toolbar featured in the iPhone app. Currently I've been experimenting with the UIToolbar class, but I'm not sure how (and if?) you can make the toolbar buttons centrally aligned and large like that in the iPod app. Additionally, regardless of size, the gradient/reflection artwork never correctly respects the size and is stuck as if the object is the default smaller size. If this cannot be done with a standard UIToolbar, I guess I need to create my own view. In this case, can the reflection/gradient be created programmatically or will it require some clever alpha tranparency Photoshopped artwork?

  • The iPhone “phone” doesn’t have the provisioning profile with which the application was signed.

    - by eda
i have tried everything to fix this provision problem and nothing is working. ive reformated my mac, reinstalled the iphone, ive also dragged the provisions (developer and distribution) onto the organizer, itunes, and xcode. in itunes people say to drag the provisions to the iphone icon but that doesnt work its only able to go under library it shows a blue rectangle for me to drop it there. i just have a newly created dummy app with a 57x57 icon. ive also setup the project with the distribution thing with its distribution provision. when i build i get this: The iPhone “myphone” doesn’t have the provisioning profile with which the application was signed. Click “Install and Run” to install the provisioning profile “distribution” on “myphone” and continue running “helloworld.app”. and it has a button "install and run" ive clicked on that hundreths of times and nothing. in orgranizer i see a tab called console ive cleared it and rebuild the app and there is some output that i dont understand. I'm thinking its my problem whats it mean? • Problem with entityForName & ManagedObjectContext when extending tutorial material

    - by Martin KS
Afternoon all, I tried to add a second data entity to the persistent store in the (locations) coredata tutorial code, and then access this in a new view. I think that I've followed the tutorial, and checked that I'm doing a clean build etc, but can't see what to change to prevent it crashing. I'm afraid I'm at my wits end with this one, and can't seem to find the step that I've missed. I've pasted the header and code files below, please let me know if I need to share any more of the code. The crash seems to happen on the line: NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Album" inManagedObjectContext:[self managedObjectContext]]; There is one other line in the code that refers to galleryviewcontroller at the moment, and that's in the main application delegate: galleryViewController.managedObjectContext = [self managedObjectContext]; GalleryViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface GalleryViewController : UIViewController { NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext; int rowNumber; IBOutlet UILabel *lblMessage; UIBarButtonItem *addButton; NSMutableArray *imagesArray; } @property (readwrite) int rowNumber; @property (nonatomic, retain) UILabel *lblMessage; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *imagesArray; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext; @property (nonatomic, retain) UIBarButtonItem *addButton; -(void)updateRowNumber:(int)theIndex; -(void)addImage; @end GalleryViewController.m #import "RootViewController.h" #import "LocationsAppDelegate.h" #import "Album.h" #import "GalleryViewController.h" #import "Image.h" @implementation GalleryViewController @synthesize lblMessage, rowNumber, addButton, managedObjectContext; @synthesize imagesArray; /* // The designated initializer.
