  • Multiple Foriegn Keys from One Table linking to single Primary Key in second Table

    Hi all, I have a database with three tables, a household table, an adults table and a users table. The Household table contains two foreign keys, iAdult1ID and iAdult2ID. The Users table has a iUserID primary key and the Adult table has a corresponding iUserID foreign key. One of the columns in the Users table is strUsername, an e-mail address. I am trying to write a query that will allow me to search for an e-mail address for either adult that has a relation to the household. So I have two questions, assuming that all the values are not null, how can I do this? And two, in reality, iAdult2ID can be null, is it still possible to write a query to do this? Thanks for your help. Let me know if you need any more information.

The first time I run it, it will take 12 seconds, then anytime after that it'll be 500 milliseconds. Is there an easy way to test this query without it hitting the query cache so I can see the results of my refactoring? Thanks!

So it is reading first column top to buttom then continuing to next .... I don't know why. However, What I need is to call it using two indices. I could do it from console in two ways, one way is go to the child module and mvn package or I could use reactor to build just one module. Can I do the same thing with profiles? By modifying POM?   • R plotting multiple histograms on single plot to .pdf as a part of R batch script

    I am writing R scripts which play just a small role in a chain of commands I am executing from a terminal. Basically, I do much of my data manipulation in a Python script and then pipe the output to my R script for plotting. So, from the terminal I execute commands which look something like $python whatever.py | R CMD BATCH do_some_plotting.R. This workflow has been working well for me so far, though I have now reached a point where I want to overlay multiple histograms on the same plot, inspired by this answer to another user's question on Stackoverflow. Inside my R script, my plotting code looks like this: pdf("my_output.pdf") plot(hist(d$original,breaks="FD",prob=TRUE), col=rgb(0,0,1,1/4),xlim=c(0,4000),main="original - This plot is in beta") plot(hist(d$minus_thirty_minutes,breaks="FD",prob=TRUE), col=rgb(1,0,0,1/4),add=T,xlim=c(0,4000),main="minus_thirty_minutes - This plot is in beta") Notably, I am using add=T, which is presumably meant to specify that the second plot should be overlaid on top of the first. When my script has finished, the result I am getting is not two histograms overlaid on top of each other, but rather a 3-page PDF whose 3 individual plots contain the titles: i) Histogram of d$original ii) original - This plot is in beta iii) Histogram of d$minus_thirty_minutes So there's two points here I'm looking to clarify. Firstly, even if the plots weren't overlaid, I would expect just a 2-page PDF, not a 3-page PDF. Can someone explain why I am getting a 3-page PDF? Secondly, is there a correction I can make here somewhere to get just the two histograms plotted, and both of them on the same plot (i.e. 1-page PDF)? The other Stackoverflow question/answer I linked to in the first paragraph did mention that alpha-blending isn't supported on all devices, and so I'm curious whether this has anything to do with it. Either way, it would be good to know if there is a R-based solution to my problem or whether I'm going to have to pipe my data into a different language/plotting engine.

    it works fine on 64 bit machines but for some reason will not work on python 2.4.3 on a 32-bit instance. i get the error 'utf8' codec can't decode bytes in position 76-79: invalid data for the code try: str(sourceresult.sourcename).encode('utf8','replace') except: raise Exception( repr(sourceresult.sourcename ) ) it returns 'kazamidori blog\xf9' i have modified my site.py file to make UTF8 the default encoding, but still doesnt seem to be working.

    I have seeen some examples of what I am trying to do using COALESCE and FOR XML (seems like the better solution). I just can't quite get the syntax right. Here is what I have (I will shorten the fields to only the key ones): Table Fields ------ ------------------------------- Requisition ID, Number IssuedPO ID, Number Job ID, Number Job_Activity ID, JobID (fkey) RequisitionItems ID, RequisitionID(fkey), IssuedPOID(fkey), Job_ActivityID (fkey) I need a query that will list ONE Requisition per line with its associated Jobs and IssuedPOs. (The requisition number start with "R-" and the Job Number start with "J-"). Example: R-123 | "PO1; PO2; PO3" | "J-12345; J-6780" Sure thing Adam! Here is a query that returns multiple rows. I have to use outer joins, since not all Requisitions have RequisitionItems that are assigned to Jobs and/or IssuedPOs (in that case their fkey IDs would just be null of course).   • Identifying idle state on a windows machine

    I know about the GetLastInputInfo method but that would only give me the duration since last user input - keyboard or mouse. If a user input was last received 10 minutes ago, that wouldn't mean the system has been idle for 10 minutes - scans, downloads, movies - lots of reasons. So how can we identify whether the system is truly idle or not? Does anyone know what Window's definition of "idle" is? Must be a combination of thresholds - like less than 5% cpu util, less than 3% disk util etc. - along with the user input parameter...anyone knows the exact definition?

  • silverlight adding single prism command delegate to a list of items in xaml

    I'm building a menu using Prism (using a trtelerik tree view with hierarchy data templates but hopefully the details don't matter) and I'm trying to set up a Click.Command on each menu items bindings that will all call the same delegate command which is defined in the view model. The menu is built up out of items which I don't really want to put any references to the command in. How do I bind the command to each of these items in xaml? I've looked around and it looks like in WPF I could use a relative source binding and find ancestors but there doesn't seem to be a way of doing this in silverlight. Can I setup the delegate as a static resource somehow? I don't think I can create a static resource to the view model as this uses Unity to resolve paramters to it's constructor.

  • bash find xargs grep only single occurence

    hi. maybe it's a bit strange - and maybe there are other tools to do this but, well.. i am using the following classic bash command to find all files which contain some string: find . -type f | xargs grep "something" i have a great number of files, on multiple depths. first occurence of "something" is enough for me, but find continues searching, and takes a long time to complete the rest of the files. what i would like to do is something like a "feedback" from grep back to find so that find could stop searching for more files. is such a thing possible? thank you

    Hi, I'm working on a small academic research about extremely long and complicated functions in the Linux kernel. I'm trying to figure out if there is a good reason to write 600 or 800 lines-long functions. For that purpose, I would like to find a tool that can extract a function from a .c file, so I can run some automated tests on the function. For example, If I have the function cifs_parse_mount_options() within the file connect.c, I'm seeking a solution that would roughly work like: extract /fs/cifs/connect.c cifs_parse_mount_options and return the 523 lines of code(!) of the function, from the opening braces to the closing braces. Of course, any way of manipulating existing software packages like gcc to do that, would be most helpful too.   • Single page app with high number of images working extremely slow on iOS8 safari/Webview

    We are working on a WebView (not WKWebView, yet) app, are are observing that the app runs extremely slow on iOS 8. The same app runs smooth on lower versions of OS like iOS7 and iOS6. So we tried it in safari on iOS8 and the performance is similar to iOS6 and 7. The app is filled with images and many are high resolution. While trying to trace the issue (trial and error!) we reduced the sizes and resolutions of the images and the performance improved, but it is still not at par with versions 6 and 7. We are unable to find any such issues reported elsewhere and are stuck. It would be great if we could get some pointers on this one.
