  • GridLayout with single column

    Right now I'm trying to use a GridLayout with only a single column. However I'm having a problem where I don't want the object, in this case a JButton, to be stretched the entire width of the JPanel that it's on. Is there a way to decrease the width of the JButton so that it does not stretch the entire width of the JPanel. I've tried using setPreferredSize and setSize with no results. Is this just the way GridLayout works or is there something I'm missing?

    With IMFMediaSource and IMFByteStreamHandler I can access bytes from media source to determine media type and audio/video stream parameters, such as duration, quality, number of streams, etc. But can I replace these bytes and send them back to client? E.g. I receive zip file bytestream, extract actual media and send another bytestream with asf (for example) data. Is this possible?

    I'm currently building a LOB application in Silverlight 4. I've been considering the question of typography for the application. After some experimentation on the design side the font that people like is Segoe UI. Now I can embed this font and although the font is freely available in Windows we don’t have distribution rights for this font. I am looking for an open source font visually equivalent of the Segoe family that can be freely distributed. Does such a font exist?

    I have a program running on multiple machines with NFS and I'd like to log all their outputs into a single file. Can I just run ./my_program >> filename on every machine or is there an issue with concurrency I should be aware of? Since I'm only appending, I don't think there would be a problem, but I'm just trying to make sure.

    I am trying to remove one site binding. I am using powershell 2 and iis 7. I am able to remove all bindings with Remove-ItemProperty, and when i use Set-ItemProperty it removes all binding and just adds the new. I would be great if i could just rename or just remove a single binding without effecting the others. A sample would be great.

    I am attempting to link an Excel source to a SQL Server DB on the Go Daddy website.  When I execute the sp in SQL Server, it shows it executed successfully, but no data is linked. Say I have this table: Books ( id, title, year ) and this array of titles in PHP: $titles = array ("bible","kafka","Book of Eli"); now I want update all rows where the title is in the $titles array above. So I need a query like this: UPDATE books SET year = '2001-11-11' WHERE title is in $titles; Is is possible with one single query ? Or do I need to use FOR loop ?

  • Example open source client-server code projects

    I'm still trying to determine an answer to my question from a few minutes ago, "Should client-server code be written in one 'project' or two?" and I think it would benefit me to see how other projects organize their code (and hopefully deduce the pros and cons of why they chose to do it that way).     im building a forum and now im gonna code the thread page. is there any open source thread script to use that resembles stackoverflow:s thread page with the actual thread, the replies and the comments? one which you could customize? i bet a lot of users have created such scripts, would be great to not having to reinvent the wheel. or is it a lot easier to code it yourself?
