• How to printf a time_t variable as a floating point number?

  Hi guys, I'm using a time_t variable in C (openMP enviroment) to keep cpu execution time...I define a float value sum_tot_time to sum time for all cpu's...I mean sum_tot_time is the sum of cpu's time_t values. The problem is that printing the value sum_tot_time it appear as an integer or long, by the way without its decimal part! I tried in these ways: to printf sum_tot_time as a double being a double value to printf sum_tot_time as float being a float value to printf sum_tot_time as double being a time_t value to printf sum_tot_time as float being a time_t value Please help me!!

  In Visual Studio 2008 when you go to properties of a project (an ASP.NET MVC one at least) you have the option to run an external program. There are three parts for it: the path to the program, the command line options, the working directory. I need to pass the root of my web application as a command line argument. I don't want to hardcode the path in my machine in that directory. Is there some sort of (environment) variable I could use? Background: I'm trying to run UltiDev Cassini because VS' Cassini is 32bit only. I think this is the right way to run it, is it?

I would like someone to be able to go into the menu Settings, pick the "Weight" ListPreference, and choose between 100, 130, 150, 180, 210, 240, 270, and 300. I already have the numbers show up (all of the arrays have been created) and I can choose one, but it doesn't do anything because it's not linked up with the int Weight variable. How do I go about linking the information?

• Find a part of UNC path and put in a variable?

  I am trying to peel off the last part of a unc path that is being passed and put it in a variable to use in a method further down the line. Example path would be -- \\ourfileserver\remoteuploads\countyfoldername\personfoldername How do I peel just the countyfoldername out of that? I had thought to try var th = e.FullPath.LastIndexOf('\\'); var whichFolder = folderPath.Substring(th); but that is an escape character and it doesn't like @ either. Is this even the right direction?

A) 1,2 and 4 only B) 2,3, and 4 only C) 2 and 4 only D) 4 only I have tried this on a gcc compiler.I assigned the value '0' to all the above variables.Only the third one showed an error.I can't really understand the reason.Can someone please expalin why that is.?   I'm new to python but I caught on to the basics pretty quick and decided to start trying to make a program while I'm still learning, since I learn best by actually doing things. So I'm making a program in python that will add polynomials and I need to see if a character from the parser is numeric im using the isdigit() command. Instead of having to type isdigit() all the time in my code such as n.isdigit(), I want to assign it to a variable t = 'isdigit()' and then type n.t. This doesn't work, so is there an alternative to not typing the whole command?

  Basically I have this: import random variable1 = random.randint(13, 19) And basically what that does is assign variable1 a random number between 13 and 19. Great. But, what I want it to do is assign a different random number between 13 and 19 to that variable every time it is called. Is there anyway I can do this? Enter new pi value (pi=3.14) : Enter new height value (h=30.0) : Usually I would write the first one with write statement, then read the new one (in Fortran, for example). • Passing along variable inside link works only on first word in multiple-word-variables, why?

  I have this code below. As you can see I am passing two variables along with the link. The second variabye (category) works whenever it consists of one word, but some categories are two words or more, and then on the receiving php page where I fetch the variable only the first word is fetched. Any ideas? Example: I pass along this: Rims & Tires Only this comes through: Rims $display_table .= "<a href='../ad.php?ad_id=$row[ad_id]&category=$row[category]' target='_parent'>"; Here is how I fetch it in the receiving php file (which the link is to): $cat = $_GET['category']; echo $cat; //displays only first word of multiple word categories. • How to Create an Array from a Single Variable and Form Multiple Foreach Loops?

  I'm fairly proficient in HTML/CSS, but very new when it comes to the likes of PHP and Javascript. I've jumped headfirst into coding Wordpress shortcodes (basically php functions), and so far, through trial and error and seemingly endless browser refreshes, I've been able to figure everything out. I just hit a huge wall though, hence why I'm here. Basically, I'm trying to give an attribute a list of values like: attr="23, 95, 136, ect" The function then needs to take that attribute variable and create an array with it: $arr = array($attr); To me that seems as if it would work, but the array takes the whole list as one value instead. After doing that I want to create a foreach loop that parses each number from the list, possibly through yet another foreach loop if possible, and returns a section of code for each one, and I'm not quite sure how to pull that off either. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

• Why does C++ allow variable length arrays that aren't dynamically allocated?

  I'm relatively new to C++, and from the beginning it's been drilled into me that you can't do something like int x; cin >> x; int array[x]; Instead, you must use dynamic memory. However, I recently discovered that the above will compile (though I get a -pedantic warning saying it's forbidden by ISO C++). I know that it's obviously a bad idea to do it if it's not allowed by the standard, but I previously didn't even know this was possible. My question is, why does g++ allow variable length arrays that aren't dynamically allocated if it's not allowed by the standard? Also, if it's possible for the compiler to do it, why isn't it in the standard?

• Can a variable like 'int' be considered a primitive/fundamental data structure?

  A rough definition of a data structure is that it allows you to store data and apply a set of operations on that data while preserving consistency of data before and after the operation. However some people insist that a primitive variable like 'int' can also be considered as a data structure. I get that part where it allows you to store data but I guess the operation part is missing. Primitive variables don't have operations attached to them. So I feel that unless you have a set of operations defined and attached to it you cannot call it a data structure. 'int' doesn't have any operation attached to it, it can be operated upon with a set of generic operators. Please advise if I got something wrong here.
