  • getting sound on .asf video on Mac OS X

    When I try to open the following video: http://streaming1.hss-win.rpi.edu/ondemand/cogsci/issues_in_cs/issues_in_cogsci_02_04_2009.asf I can get it but without any sound... I tried it both inside the browser (Firefox) and in QuickTime Media player but still it does not work. Any idea how to get this to work on Mac OS X? Using version 10.6. thank you.

    Ok so my new gig is high performance video (think Google streetview but movies) - the hard work is all embedded capture and image processing but: I was looking at the new MS video offerings to display content = Windows Media Foundation. Is anyone actually using this ? There are no books on the topic. The only documentation is a developer team blog with a single entry 9 months old. I thought we had got past having to learn an MS api by spying on the com control messages! Is it just another wrapper around the same old activeX control?

    Like Firefox, XULRunner only ships with support for ogg (and soon, webm) in the HTML5 video tag. Is there a relatively simple way to add h.264 support to it for all three major platforms? Perhaps a compilation flag, or a plugin I can add to it?

  • linux display drivers

    I've run into a major display problem on newly installed fedora 11, on my 6 years old pc which runs a pentium4 2.4 GHz processor, 1 gb ddr ram, intel 845 motherboard with integrated graphics card. When i open an image or play a video, my complete screen turns garbled. I simply cannot make out whats on my screen. With difficulty i have to close the image/video window and move around the folder window to clean the screen image. Is it because of my display drivers? How can i fix it? I also ran into mp3 plugins and flash issues which i was able to resovle. I'm new to linux, the sole purpose of isntalling it on my old pc was to learn linux but this display problem is frustrating me. Thanks, Salman

    Maybe it's been a long day but I'm having trouble persisting a collection backed by the ASP.NET ViewState in a CompositeControl. Here's a simplified version: public class MyControl : CompositeControl { public Collection<MyObject> MyObjectCollection { get { return (Collection<MyObject>)ViewState["coll"] == null ? new Collection<MyObject>() : (Collection<MyObject>)ViewState["coll"]; } set { ViewState["coll"] = value; } } } public partial class TestPage : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void btn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { myControl1.MyObjectCollection.Add(new MyObject()); } } When the button is clicked, the event hander btn_Click executes fine, but the setter for MyObjectCollection never gets called, hence the new MyObject() never gets persisted. I think I'm just having a blonde moment. Anyone fancy helping out?

  • wordpress user uploads, any solution?

    I need to build a solution which will allow registered users of a Wordpress site upload videos to the server and have them moderated before being published on the site. Failing that, I would like to let users upload their file, then the Admins would check the video is appropriate, upload it to youtube, and manually embed it into a post. This has to look transparent - so I don't want to make the users into contributers. Does anyone know of any plugins or home-made solutions that are available for this? edit: the closest I have found is this http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/ but the unknown 3rd party hosting is a deal breaker.

    I have a module in a Prism application and in its initialize method I want to register a presenter instead of a view with a region, i.e. I want to do this: PSEUDO-CODE: regionManager.RegisterPresenterWithRegion( "MainRegion", typeof(Presenters.EditCustomerPresenter)); instead of loading a view like this: regionManager.RegisterViewWithRegion( "MainRegion", typeof(Views.EditCustomerView)); The presenter would of course bring along its own view and ultimately register this view in the region, but it would allow me to bind the presenter to the view in the presenter's constructor instead of binding the two together in XAML (which is more of a decoupled MVVM pattern which I want to avoid here).     Hi, I am developing an iPhone app that uses Twitvid library for uploading videos to TwitVid. This library first authenticates the app using the user-name and password input parameters. Then it uploads the video. But, recently I switched to OAuth mechanism of authentication which leads to a web-page where user can enter the user-name and password. So, I cannot provide the input fields for user-name and password in my app for uploading video. Can someone help me out to solve this problem. Thanks and Regards, Deepa
