  I have a few tables where Foreign Key constraints are added. These are used with code generation to set up specific joins in generated stored procedures.   I'm quite confused about the basic concepts of a Hash table. If I were to code a hash how would I even begin? What is the difference between a Hash table and just a normal array? Basically if someone answered this question I think all my questions would be answered: If I had 100 randomly generated numbers (as keys), how would I implement a hash table and why would that be advantageous over an array? Psuedo-code or Java would be appreciated as a learning tool...

• Is it possible to name something in XAML without getting a field for that object?

  I use x:Name to name an element in XAML because I want to be able to reference it using Storyboard.TargetName but everything that has x:Name set also gets a field generated in the code-behind. Is it possible to target an element with Storyboard.TargetName without getting a field (which FxCop gives a warning about unused private code for). Thanks.

• Simple way to play a single frequency in java?

  I just want to play a very simple, straight forward note by giving my computer a certain frequency as an integer, and from there I can figure out how to make it play the note longer or shorter. It does not necessarily have to come out of the actual sound card - if it's generated and output by the internal speaker that's okay. I looked at the midi libraries that java has included, and they are way more than what I want to do. This just needs to be very basic.

  I am reading a book which says (if I am not getting it wrong) wrapping some code with @autoreleasepool statement enables the ARC. First of all is this the case ? My second concern is when I am doing some iOS example programs, although I enable ARC when creating a new project, I never see this directive being used anywhere (in the automatically generated code). Does this mean that ARC is not being used ? Any ideas/pointers is appreciated.

How can I print out each line of that process's stdout in a streaming fashion, so that I can see the output as it's generated, but still block on the process terminating before continuing? subprocess.communicate() appears to give all the output at once.

When you create a user using the wizard it generates a very long userID "a40cf936-1596-4560-a26c-450792e2c8c0" I want to add users using another program that connects to this database... but how does visual studio auto-generate this ID. It periodically takes screenshots to the specified area. When you start recording, it hides (decativates) the window. On a Mac, when you give an application focus, any hidden windows will activate.
