How to create repeatable table with unique ID's using jQuery

I need to create a table structure that can be "copied" and populated with a new set of data. However, each table must have unique IDs for functions that must access them later. For example: <table class="main"> <thead><tr><th class="header"></th></tr></thead> <tbody> <tr class="row"><td class="col0"></td><td class="col1"></td></tr> </tbody> </table> My current thought is to use jQuery to load the table from a seperate html file into a variable. Using this saved table I could then create a function that copies it, traverses the table to add an ID to each section where information will need to be appended from a seperate data source, and return this new table. I am new to jQuery and feel like I may be missing an easier/better way to accomplish this. Any help on this subject would be appreciated.

Rowspan not using top row

I don't understand why my column won't span to the top and bottom rows I created. It is supposed to look like the "Today" column is taller on the top and bottom then the other columns. I tried accomplishing this by adding rows above and below it and then using rowspan. For some reason, it only works on the bottom row. It's a lot of code, and I wasn't sure what I should cut without deforming it all or adding a new variable (it needs a fluid height). Mobile (Portable) Website

I have an online presentation to do next week and I have it all ready to go. The website is html and css only (no db), and currently resides on my shared hosting account. Now although my shared hosting is (relatively) reliable, I have noticed that recently they have been making some changes and my website has been unavailable at times. I don't want this to happen to me on the morning of my presentation, so I am asking what is the best way to prepare for such a thing? My domain is www.presentation.mydomain.com and I would like to keep this if possible (even if issues arise). I have been thinking of a few alternatives; host my site on two different domains or servers (but what about domain name)? have a portable XAMPP version on a USB (again, domain name)? possible fail-over site/location? Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Update Presentation will be carried out on their laptop, not mine. So I am unable to install any software.

Encoding issue: Cocoa Error 261?

So I'm fetching a JSON string from a php script in my iPhone app using: NSURL *baseURL = [NSURL URLWithString:@"test.php"]; NSError *encodeError = [[NSError alloc] init]; NSString *jsonString = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:baseURL encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&encodeError]; NSLog(@"Error: %@", [encodeError localizedDescription]); NSLog(@"STRING: %@", jsonString); The JSON string validates when I test the output. Now I'm having an encoding issue. When I fetch a single echo'd line such as: { "testKey":"é" } (I'm aware I could\should be using NSUrlConnection for asynchronous fetching of data, but at this point in the app development, I don't really need it.) The JSON parser works fine and I am able to create a valid JSON object. However, when I fetch my 2MB JSON string, I get presented with: Error: Operation could not be completed. (Cocoa error 261.) and a Null string. My PHP file is UTF8 itself and I am not using utf8_encode() because that seems to double encode the data since I'm already pulling the data as NSUTF8StringEncoding. Either way, in my single-echo test, it's the approach that allowed me to successfully log \ASDAS style UTF8 escapes when building the JSON object. What could be causing the error in the case of the larger string? Also, I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using the php function addslashes() on my parsed php data to account for quotes and such when building the JSON string.

rails, mysql charsets & encoding: binary

Hi, i've a rails app that runs using utf-8. It uses a mysql database, all tables with mysql's default charset and collation (i.e. latin1). Therefore the latin1 tables contain utf-8 data. Sure, that's not nice, but i'm not really interested in it. Everything works fine, because the connection encoding is latin1 as well and therefore mysql does not convert between charsets. Only one problem: i need a utf-8 fulltext index for one table: mysql> show create table autocompletephrases; ... AUTO_INCREMENT=310095 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci But: I don't want to convert between charsets in my rails app. Therefore I would like to know if i could just set config/database.yml production: adapter: mysql >>>> encoding: binary ... which just calls SET NAMES 'binary' when connecting to mySQL. It looks like it works for my case, because i guess it forces mysql to -not- convert between charsets (mySQL docs). Does anyone knows about problems about doing this? Any side-effects? Or do you have any other suggestions? But i'd like to avoid converting my whole database to utf-8. Many Thanks! Benjamin

ASP.net Literal or Page altering HTML string, causing formatting issues

We have a service that generates a report (using word templates and a 3rd party library), and then returns a string in HTML. While this HTML isn't great - its formatted correctly in this string. We want this HTML to show up on a page - format intact. What we currently have done is set an ASP.net Literal's text element to this string. While this works, I have noticed that it has reformatted the HTML string slightly. For the most part, it looks like it generated a bunch of new CSS classes, and a new style element in the HTML. This HTML does not exist in the string thats being returned. I could filter all of this back out, but wonder if there is a better way. I assume that the Page itself is altering something. What is the best way to display this raw HTML back to the user? I can't directly use a Response.Write(string), because this page does have a few other controls on it.

I need to create rules for web.config that will rewrite all requests for files with extension .html to .asp and redirect all .asp requests to .html Example: file_xyz.asp rewrites to file_xyz.html directory1/file_xyz.asp rewrites to directory1/file_xyz.html and file_xyz.html redirects to file_xyz.asp directory1/file_xyz.html redirects to directory1/file_xyz.asp What is the syntax for the rule Is this too broad a rule? If I should need for what ever reason to have a physical file such as file_abc.html how do I exclude it from the redirect rule? I am thinking I should just use ISAPI_Rewrite http://www.isapirewrite.com/ there seems to be a ton of resources out there for rewriting with htaccess and very little online help for using IIS 7 URL rewrite. jQuery using .html & then window.scrollTo

Hello, I'm doing the following: First, inject HTML into the page (a lot) which then increases the window scrollbar: $("#XXXX").html("LOTS OF HTML").show(); Then i want to scroll down to the end of the page: window.scrollTo(0,$(document).height()); Problem is the page never scrolls down. I did some console.logging and the scrollTo is running before the HTML from the inject html() is run. I tried this in the JS which injects the HTML, I then tried doing the scroll inside the HTML inject but that made no difference. Any ideas?

Making Flex HTML Control UnSelectable

I am displaying some HTML text in an Adobe AIR Application that I do not want the user to be able to cut and paste. How do I make the HTML control disallow highlighting of the HTML without disabling the ScrollBars. mouseChildren=false works but disables the scrollbars which is unacceptable. Right now I have: <mx:HTML location="http://dexter/preview.html" width="100%" height="100%" id="PreviewArea" x="0" y="0" tabEnabled="false" tabChildren="false" focusEnabled="false" focusRect="null"/> But it's not working properly either. I have also tried overlaying a disabled transparent text control over the top of the HTML component, but the user is still able to tab to the HTML and use the keyboard controls to copy the text to the clipboard. Any hints?

I am making a maze type of game using javascript and HTML and need some questions answered [on hold]

First off, i am a noob to JavaScript but am willing to learn. :) I found a simple JavaScript moment engine created by another member on this site. Using that i made it so my character can walk around within a rectangle/square shaped room. I want to make it so the character can walk through a "doorway" within a wall to the next room. Either that or make it so if the character moves over a certain image within the room it will take the player to another webpage in which the character "spawns" into the room and so on and so fourth. I guess I don't understand what ASCII being the default encoding means.

Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codepage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). I am trying to create a text file using VB.Net with UTF8 encoding, without BOM. Can anybody help me, how to do this? I can write file with UTF8 encoding but, how to remove Byte Order Mark from it? Thanks in Advance.

MySQL Collation or PHP side to display accented letters properly

What is the best Collation for the column that can allow to store accented letters and parse them out perfectly without any encoding error, because whenever I add an accented letter such as é, å, it shows out with an encoding problem on the PHP side, but in the MySQL side it's fine... How do I get the accented letters display properly?

CodePage ID to CodaPage name: GetEncoding equivalent in Delphi?

Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codapage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). I've found a Win32 function called GetCPInfoEx, but that returns a long CodePage name, and I need the short one, like the ones listed on this page: (see Name column) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.text.encoding.aspx Thank you!

Incorrect string encodings

Note: I have read all of the related PHP, UTF-8, character encoding articles that are usually suggested, but my question relates to data inserted before I applied such techniques. I am wishing to retrospectively fix all character encoding problems. Now all connections are set as utf8 using PDO. PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_INIT_COMMAND => 'SET NAMES utf8' Unfortunately, a large amount of data was inserted that is of questionable encoding before I had implemented correct character encoding practices. Restoring a utf8 encoded database to an iso 1 server - effect on strings

We are doing a migration of our Sybase database that has a utf8 encoding to a server with iso 1 encoding. We are just using char and Varchar for our strings. Will doing backup and restore not truncate any strings? I was thinking that Char and Varchar are just single byte characters.

HTML, CSS: how can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ?

hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set. I have actually 2 questions: 1)What is the difference between base64url encoding and base64 encoding and 2)How base64url encode is different from Facebooks base64url encode because facebook mentions that it sends url in a form of base64url but with no padding and two different characters. http://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/canvas (under Why Sign calls) Can anyone plese provide a pseudocode with explaination for converting to and from each other.
