  • Compile a PHP script in Linux

    I know php scripts don't actually compile until they are run. However say I want to create a small simple program and compile it to a binary without requiring the php binary. How could I do this? I'v seen a few IDE's out there that would do this, but either they are all for windows or the linux versions don't actually build properly. What I would like is something like py2exe that does it in the script itself.

    I am writed an automated test in Selenium IDE to test one of our applications. Our app throws one of those confirmation dialogs "Are you sure you want to continue." Click OK or Cancel Selenium does not support the clicking of these dialog boxes. I have tried the following SeleniumIDE functions with no success: chooseOkOnNextConfirmation chooseOkOnNextConfirmationAndWait Is there a javascript funtion I can call within SeleniumIDE to do this, or am I out of luck.

    So I am managing a old java project that is using glassfish 2.x. Seems like netbeans does not support 2.x versions any more, so I want to change it to 3.1.1. How to properly make that change? I have JDK 1.6 installed. When I try to select the 3.1.1 does not fix the error "Unable to find Application Server J2EE" Thanks in advance.   • Eclipse making background video skip with almost every click of the mouse

    The problem is i like to listen to videos online (mostly or all flash video) while programming and never had any problems until i started using eclipse, now every time i do just about anything other than type, it makes the video skip/freeze really bad and is really annoying. I have never had this happen using visual studio, netbeans, or adobe flash for that matter, unless i was compiling or doing something that hogs the processor. Are there any settings that might could fix this its getting really annoying. it happens almost every time i even click "find" on the find pop-up window and it is not like it is having to search a big file or anything it is only 700 lines, with honestly only about 1/2 that have content on them. Any ideas?

  • Ubuntu 12.04 KVM running Ubuntu 12.04 with linux-image-virtual crash on boot

    One of my VMs is stuck on "pause" in virsh. If I destroy and restart it, it will go to pause after a bit of time as "running". I can at best enter my username at login if I'm quick but it'll then shutdown. I don't know where to start with this so any help would be great!! I can access the VMs files via guestfish. the kern.log and syslog don't populate new lines.   • FreeNX is very unresponsive compare to VNC when using over LAN

    I find FreeNX is quite unresponsive compare to VNC when using over LAN. I run Netbeans inside a Quad Core Server and remote desktop to it through both NX & VNC. For VNC, the screen will be nicely updated as I scroll the Netbean IDE For FreeNX, flickering happened and the mouse cursor become unresponsive as I tried to do the samething. Have anyone encountered the same? I don't like VNC because when VNC doesnot correctly understand the "Windows" key (interpreted as Super L instead of Mod) Is there any adjustment that can avoid that annoyance? I have tried both FreeNX-Server and NeatX-Server and both resulted in the same unresponsiveness.

  • What's an easy way to install a bunch of OSS apps in my home dir on my company's aging Redhat VNC servers?

    My company's IT group doesn't want to install lots of common stuff on our VNC servers, which run RHEL 4. The list of stuff i want/need includes graphviz, midnight commander, various python libs, sqlite, netbeans, antlr, jdk1.6, etc. They've hobbled rpm somehow, so i can't do rpm --relocate. And i don't want the RHEL4 compatible revs of this stuff anyway. I've probably got the room to build all this stuff in my home dir, but i don't want to take forever tracking down dependencies. Looking for an easy way to get the apps/tools i need, and nothing (or very little) else. Any suggestions?

    I'm looking for VIM replacement. My key points are: Extensible in sane language (such as Python, Ruby, or even Lua, after vimscript everything will do). Also GUI part should be extensible too, so no SublimeText2. GUI. Preferrably GTK+. Lightweight. I don't understand IDEs like Eclipse/NetBeans consuming up to 1G of RAM. File browser panel. Splits, tabs and windows. There should be ability to split views tabs infinite number of times (or while they fit to screen). VCS support (optional: especially Git) Snippets & autocompletion (not mandatory, but I would very love to have those) Any ideas?

    I have a dedicated hosted server box with ubuntu 10.04 64 bit installed. I would like to run kvm with ubuntu 8.04 installed for some php 5.2 compatible apps(they don't work right with php 5.3, the default in ubuntu 10.04). I installed KVM as instructed at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/KVM/Installation . I installed the vm using virt-manager. I never could figure out how use virt-install or any of those automated installers. I just installed it using the disc. I set up bridged networking as per https://help.ubuntu.com/community/KVM/Networking . However, the bridged connection doesn't work. Here's my /etc/network/interfaces on the host, running ubuntu 10.04.     Are there any shortcuts to delete just one row (which is NOT a table row, just a single row in a text) in Microsoft Office Word 2010? If not, how can I assign one to do it? In worst case, can I make a macro (in VB) which could do the same with a custom shortcut? To clarify my problem: I would like to avoid multiple clicks and/or pushing multiple buttons, even if I click in the middle of the line of text. :) For example, in Notepad++ I can delete the entire current line with Ctrl+L, in NetBeans, I can delete an entire line with Ctrl+E, in Eclipse, I can delete current line with Ctrl+D, etc., where it doesn't really matter where my mouse cursor is actually... so there are these simple solutions, which I look for in Word too. It really would simplify my work in huge documents.

    I've installed netbeans which comes with glassfish. i just got a book about glassfish and i wanted to try.the first surprise is the time it took to the admin page to load. i've found on serverfault and by googling that the server is making call to external resource on the network on online (not sure about that). but the adding of the java options didn't speed up the loading of the admin page. how to work around it? i've heard so good about glassfish that this leaves me perplexed. thanks for reading and for helping.

    I've just got eclipse for jee installed, and also downloaded apache 6.0.29 and added it in eclipse preferences. I followed up this tutorial, and all i got when i run it is 404 page with "The requested resource (/WebService/) is not available." description. I can't even access root folder of tomcat at localhost:8080. However, if i start tomcat through concole command, it's working fine and home page and examples are accessible. I'm a complete noob at tomcat and eclipse(been working with netbeans before), so i've got no idea what's wrong.

    I'm a programmer. I hate status reports. I found a way to live with it. While I am working in my IDE ( Visual Slickedit ) I keep a plain text file open in one of the file/buffer tabs. As I finish things I just jot down a quick note into that file. At the end of the week that becomes my weekly status report. Example entries: The Datatables.net plugin runs very slowly in IE 8 with more than 2,000 records. I changed the way I did the server side code to process the data to make less work for the plugin to get decent performance for the IE 8 users. I made a class to wrap data from the new data collection objects into the legacy data holder objects. This will let the new database code be backward compatible with the legacy code until we can replace it. I found the bug reported by Jane. The software is fine. The database we use for the test site has data that is corrupted in a way it wouldn't be for production site At the end of the month I go back to each weekly *.txt file and paste all of the entries into a MS Word file for a monthly report. I give the monthly report to a liason to the contracting company who has to compile everyone's monthly reports into a single MS Word 2007 document. His problem, soon to be my problem, comes when he highlights my paragraphs like the ones above to put bullets in front of my paragraphs. When he highlights my notes to put bullets in front of them with MS Word 2007, Word rearranges the text a bit and the new line chars/carriage returns stagger the text so the text is no longer in neat chunks. It just puts some kind of newline character in anyway. Searching/Replacing those chars in the text files has the result of destroying the paragraphs. Once my notes are pasted into MS Word, Word automatically translates them into paragraph breaks. Searching/Replacing them there has similar results. Blank lines separating the notes disappears. One big mess. What I would like is to be able to keep adding my status notes to a text file as I am now, but do something different when I paste the notes into MS Word such that my liason can select the text, hit the bulleting command and NOT have the staggered text as shown above.     My question is why a launched application, if it has loading time like netbeans, eclipse jdeveloper etc. If i go to desktop3 and launch an application and then go to desktop 2 while I wait, then when it has loaded the application will launch in desktop2. Is there anyway to change this? I find it highly annoying since i on startup would like to launch 3-4 big applications, leave my computer while loadingf, and then return. But i cant leave since i have to launch them sequential instead of simultaneous... Help please :-)

Proposed solution by NetBeans blog (failed) 1-add those two lines to httpd.conf AddType Application/x-httpd-php .php LoadModule php5_module "c:/php/sapi/php5apache2_2.dll" It doesnt works because there is no "php5apache2_2.dll" under my Php installation folder?? I have such .dll : php5ts.dll, ssleay32.dll,.. Any one have any suggestion in order to run the PHP script successfully?

    After updating the Java JRE to 7u25, many Java-based applications not works as usual, the I upgrade Java to 7u45, and still the apps not working. Minecraft start screen not showing, have to press TAB key to select the Run button and press ENTER to run the game. Netbeans IDE it's running, but none it's showing on the screen. Eclipse and JDownloader are working fine. I cannot run the Java Control Panel, it's only shows the Java icon at the taskbar.   • Windows 8 taking 4+ mins to shutdown

    I did a fresh installation of Windows 8 64 bit, build 9200 (released on aug 16th). I installed the drivers and some basic softwares like NetBeans, mingw, iis server and php. For the first few times, it was restarting normally. But then at shutdown, it would show the shutdown screen for some seconds and then turn black for about 4 mins (similar to what happens at hibernation). I disabled the "fast startup" option in power options, but the problem still persists. Windows 7 and Ubuntu shut down normally. specs: 4gb ram, 750 gb sata hdd, solved by installing Windows Updates released during October. It was a serious bug in the OS, afaik. Now even hibernate takes upto 30 secs max. Still, win 8 is too buggy for release.
