    Hi, I would like to get some links for getting started with design patterns.My requirement is , (at Initial stage) How to go about developing a particular pattern , say customized ListView which can be shared across applications . e.g. Applications will call something like drawCustomizedListView(params...) and my code will draw the listview according to the parameters supplied. This is particularly useful when across the applications I have to draw customized views. My intention is, I should not repeat the same code everywhere for doing similar task. Any references for the above requirement ?

  • C# DLL reference changes version and becomes unloadable (Plugin-system)

    I will try to keep this as simple as possible. I have a rather simple plugin system that has run into a problem. I have 2 assemblies: Host.exe Plugin.dll Plugin.dll references Host.exe (which contains interfaces and classes that Plugin.dll implement and use). At runtime, Host.exe loads Plugin.dll through reflection and this works great. Except when Host.exe updates and gets a new version number. Then I get an error once I try to load Plugin.dll, saying that Host.exe (with the old version number) can't be found. This means I have to rebuild all plugins every time Host.exe changes build number. Anyone got a solution to this?

  • How to find the first declaring method for a reference method

    Suppose you have a generic interface and an implementation: public interface MyInterface<T> { void foo(T param); } public class MyImplementation<T> implements MyInterface<T> { void foo(T param) { } } These two types are frework types. In the next step I want allow users to extend that interface as well as redeclare foo(T param) to maybe equip it with further annotations. public interface MyExtendedInterface extends MyInterface<Bar> { @Override void foo(Bar param); // Further declared methods } I create an AOP proxy for the extended interface and intercept especially the calls to furtherly declared methods. As foo(…) is no redeclared in MyExtendedInterface I cannot execute it by simply invoking MethodInvocation.proceed() as the instance of MyImplementation only implements MyInterface.foo(…) and not MyExtendedInterface.foo(…). So is there a way to get access to the method that declared a method initially? Regarding this example is there a way to find out that foo(Bar param) was declared in MyInterface originally and get access to the accoriding Method instance? I already tried to scan base class methods to match by name and parameter types but that doesn't work out as generics pop in and MyImplementation.getMethod("foo", Bar.class) obviously throws a NoSuchMethodException. I already know that MyExtendedInterface types MyInterface to Bar. So If I could create some kind of "typed view" on MyImplementation my math algorithm could work out actually.

  • Cross-reference between delphi records

    Let's say I have a record TQuaternion and a record TVector. Quaternions have some methods with TVector parameters. On the other hand, TVector supports some operations that have TQuaternion parameters. Knowing that Delphi (Win32) does not allow for forward record declarations, how do I solve this elegantly? Using classes is not really an option here, because I really want to use operator overloading for this rare case where it actually makes good sense. For now I simply moved these particular methods out of the records and into separate functions, the good old-fashioned way. Better suggestions are most welcome.

    Hi folks, I'm trying to learn C++, and trying to understand returning objects. I seem to see 2 ways of doing this, and need to understand what is the best practice. Option 1: QList<Weight *> ret; Weight *weight = new Weight(cname, "Weight"); ret.append(weight); ret.append(c); return &ret; Option 2: QList<Weight *> *ret = new QList(); Weight *weight = new Weight(cname, "Weight"); ret->append(weight); ret->append(c); return ret; (of course, I may not understand this yet either).     I am using the excellent jTemplates plugin to generate content. Given a data object like this... var data = { name: 'datatable', table: [ {id: 1, name: 'Anne'}, {id: 2, name: 'Amelie'}, {id: 3, name: 'Polly'}, {id: 4, name: 'Alice'}, {id: 5, name: 'Martha'} ] }; ..I'm wondering if it is possible to directly specify an object in an array of objects using $T. (I'm hoping there is something like $T.table:3 available) Currently the only way I can think of to access a specific object in an array is to do something like this... {#foreach $T.table as record} {#if $T.record$iteration == 3} This is record 3! Name: {$T.record.name} {#/if} {#/for} However that seems clumsy... Any suggestions? Thanks

  • File Locked by Services (after service code reading the text file)

    I have a windows services written in C# .NET. The service is running on a internal timer, every time the interval hits, it will go and try to read this log file into a String. My issue is every time the log file is read, the service seem to lock the log file. The lock on that log file will continue until I stop the windows service. At the same time the service is checking the log file, the same log file needs to be continuously updated by another program. If the file lock is on, the other program could not update the log file. If I remove the condition f.Expression == null or change it to f.Expression != null, the query executes normally (giving the wrong results, of course).     I don't know why I'm having a hard time with this. All I want to do is this: class foo { public: foo(){} ~foo(){} float a,b; }; class foo2 { public: foo2(){} foo2(const foo &f){*this = f;} ~foo2(){} void operator=(const foo& f){ x = f.a; y = f.b; } float x,y; }; /* Usage(cpp): foo f; foo2 f2(f); //or using the = operator f2 = f; */ The problem I'm having is that, after swigging this code, I can't figure out how to make the lua script play nice. /* Usage(lua) f = example.foo() f2 = example.foo2(f) --error */ The error I get is "Wrong arguments for overloaded function 'new_Foo2'": Possible c/c++ prototypes are: foo2() foo2(foo const &) The same thing happens if I try and use do f2 = f. As I understand it everything is stored as a pointer so I did try adding an additional constructor that took a pointer to foo but to no avail.

    Hi, I have a Groovy class similar to class MyClass { Foo foo } Under certain circumstances I don't want to initialize foo and want to stub out all the calls to it. Any methods that return a value should do nothing. I could do it like this: Foo.metaClass.method1 = {param -> } Foo.metaClass.method2 = { -> } Foo.metaClass.method3 = {param1, param2 -> } While this will work, it has a couple of problems Tedious and long-winded, particularly if Foo has a lot of methods This will stub out calls to any instance of Foo (not just foo) Although Groovy provides a StubFor class, if I do this: this.foo = new groovy.mock.interceptor.StubFor(Foo) I get a ClassCastException at runtime. Although this would work if I could redefine foo as: def foo But for reasons I won't go into here, I can't do that. Thanks, Don

    I have a master page that divides the main content into two areas. There are two asp:ContentPlaceHolder controls in the body section of the master page with IDs cphMain and cphSideBar respectively. One of the corresponding content pages has a control in cphMain that needs to refer to a control in cphSideBar. Specifically, a SqlDataSource in cphMain references a TextBox in cphSideBar to use as a parameter in the select command. I get the results I want with the work around I've come up with, but it seems like such a hack. I was wondering if there is a better solution I'm missing. Please advise.

    In Delphi you can pass class references around to compare the types of objects, and to instantiate them. Can you do the same with interface references being passed to a COM automation server? For example, you can define a method taking a GUID parameter using the type library editor: function ChildNodesOfType(NodeType: TGUID): IMBNode; safecall; In this function I would like to return automation types that support the interface specified by NodeType, e.g. if Supports(SomeNode, NodeType) then result := SomeNode; But the Supports call always fails, I tried passing in the Guids defined in the type library but none of the different types (Ixxx, Class_xxxx, IId_Ixxxx) seem to work.

This is just a pseudocode kind of example: f (x,y) { y = y+1; x = x+y; } main() { a = 2; b = 2; f(a+b, a) print a; } When accessing variable x in f, does it access the address of the temp variable which contains the result of a+b or will it access the individual addresses of a and b and then evaluate the value of a+b Please help.   • Exporting Eclipse project with a reference to native library

    I have an Eclipse project, that uses JMF, I found out I could skip the JMF installation process and still to use the CaptureDeviceManager of the JMF, and to receive the list of devices if I could point my project to the native lib of the JMF. I've managed to add the native lib to the IDE run/debug, but once I export the application to an external runnable Jar, the application cannot find the native lib. the files are located in c:\JMF*.dll I tried to add the folder path to the environment variable in windows - didn't work. I tried to add them into another Jar and add it to the project - didn't work. I tried to add the files into the project - didn't work. I tried to add the path to the class path - didn't work. I tried to add the path to the library path - didn't work. does someone have any sort of a solution? Thanks in advance, Adam Zehavi.

Either supply an http base address or set HttpGetUrl to an absolute address. What shall i do about it? Do I realy need two separate endpoints? Thanks.
