  • Parse files in directory/insert in database

    Hey there, Here is my dillema... I have a directory full of .txt comma delimited files arranged as shown below. What I want to do is to import each of these into a SQL or SQLite database, appending each one below the last. (1 table)... I am open to C# or VB scripting and just not sure how to accomplish this. I want to only extract and import the data starting BELOW the 'Feat. Type,Feat. Name, etc' line. These are stored in a \mynetwork\directory\stats folder on my network drive. Ideally I will be able to add functionality that will make the software/script know not to re-add the file to the database once it has already done so as well.   • Running Sitecore Production Site under a Virtual Directory

    We are using Sitecore 6 on a Windows Server 2003 (32bit) dev machine. I know it's not recommended for the CMS editing site, but we've been told it is possible to get the front-end Sitecore websites to run from within a virtual directory. Here's the issue: we'd like to achieve what the below poor mans diagram shows. We have a website (.net 1.1) /WebSiteRoot (.net 1.1) | | |---- Custom .net 1.1 Web Application | |---- SiteCore frontend WebApplication (.net 2.0) | |---- Custom .net 2.0 WebApplication The Sitecore webApplication would contain the Sitecore pipeline in its web.config and we'd make use of the section to configure the virtual folder to allow for where our Sitecore app sits and point it to the appropriate place in the Content Tree. Is it possible to pull this off? This is just the customer facing website, there will be no CMS editing functionality on these servers, that will be done from a more standard Sitecore install inside the firewall on a different server. The errors we're encountering are centered around loading the the various config files in the App_Config folder. It seems to do a Server.MapPath on "/" initially (which is wrong for us) so we've tried putting absolute paths in the web.config and still no joy (I think there must be some hardcoded piece that looks for the Include directory). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • PHP: Extract direct sub directory from path string

    I need to extract the name of the direct sub directory from a full path string. For example, say we have: $str = "dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4/filename.ext"; $dir = "dir1/dir2"; Then the name of the sub-directory in the $str path relative to $dir would be "dir3". Note that $dir never has '/' at the ends. So the function should be: $subdir = getsubdir($str,$dir); echo $subdir; // Outputs "dir3" If $dir="dir1" then the output would be "dir2". If $dir="dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4" then the output would be "" (empty). If $dir="" then the output would be "dir1". Etc.. Currently this is what I have, and it works (as far as I've tested it). I'm just wondering if there's a simpler way since I find I'm using a lot of string functions. Maybe there's some magic regexp to do this in one line?   • Bash script to find a directory, list it's contents and sub-folders info

    Hi I want to write a script that will: 1- locate folder "store" on a *nix filesystem 2- move into that folder 3- print list of contents with last modification date 4- calculate sub-folders size This folder's absolute path changes from server to server, but the folder name remains the same always. There is a config file that contains the correct path to that folder though, but it doesn't give absolute bath to it. Sample Config: Account ON DIR-Store /hdd1 Scheduled YES ?According to the config file the absolute path would be "/hdd1/backup/store/" I need the script to grep the "/hdd1" or anything beyond the word "Config-Store", add "/backup/store/" to it, move into folder "store", print list of it's contents, and calculate sub-folders size. Until now I manually edit the script on each server to reflect the path to the "store" folder.   • How can I locate all the network printers in the enterprise?

    When I go to Printers and Faxes dialog, I can click the Add a printer link, select Network Printer, then Find a printer in the directory. From there I get a dialog box which lets me find ALL printers in the enterprise. I need to find all the network printers with my code. How can I do this? Note that I am not talking about network printers that are connected to my PC, but all network printers in the enterprise (my workplace has almost 4000 printers). P.S. We use SharePoint in the company for basic document sharing and team sites. I need an easy to use wiki tool which is capable of showing the content like WikiPedia contents and it would be great if I could have the SharePoint tree view and Active Directory authentication also. I googled it and found Atlassian's Confluence and it seems that this product is capable of the requirements. We use Jira for issue tracking, so we can use it's reporting in dashboards. I need and it has a Wiki part which displays wiki pages in tree view. It should be like Does anyone used Confluence or have an idea for other products which meets my requirements

All users are in the same OU and the exchange 2003 server has sp2 installed. Anyone might know why this is? Update: I figured out that if I disable and re-enable the Outlook Mobile Access setting for each user, the msExchOmaAdminWirelessEnable attribute shows up again for those users missing that attribute...weird..

    I'm not a .NET developer, and I have a feeling this would be trivial for someone who is: I have a C# web application that makes user of the user credentials of the logged in user. Currently it uses the SID which comes from System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().User.Value I need to get either the users UPN login or email address (as defined in active directory) instead of the SID. GetCurrent() returns an object of type WindowsIdentity; looking in the details for WindowsIdentity Members: MSDN: WindowsIdentity Members I can't see anything that looks like it would give me either the UPN or email in there. How can I pull up that information to use, either by feeding the SID into some other function or calling something different in the first place.

    Hi, I’ve throughout the last couple of years downloaded a lot of templates for websites and these are now starting to become chaotic in the different folders so I’m starting to get a overview of the different templates. Regarding to this I was thinking about the way that WordPress displays the different themes installed in the themes folder. It provides a small overview (thumbnail) of the theme and a possibility to preview the theme. Of cause, I don’t need or want such a advanced system as Wordpress but I’m attractive to the idea of displaying my templates in the same kind of manner and without using a Database. I’ve played around with different directory management scripts and tools for PHP but the best result I’ve got so fare is just to display the different content in the different folders but not create a preview which in each preview it will use the webpage itself and it’s stylesheets, images, etc. Does anyone have an idea how to create such a script or have a link to a already existing script. Of cause is all the main pages named index.htm / .html Sincere Mestika

    I'm attempting to utilize VBScript to connect pull the physicalDeliveryOfficeName attribute in Active Directory by providing the email address. I know how to do it with a common name like the following: Set MyUser = GetObject ("LDAP://cn=" & uname & ",ou=" & strname & ",DC=bobdom,DC=net") However only the email address is available. How to do this? I've even tried Set MyUser = GetObject ("LDAP://mail=" & uname & ",ou=" & strname & ",DC=bobdom,DC=net") and that doesn't work.

    $_SERVER['REMOTE_USER'] returns the username of the user logged in to an Active Directory. I want to retrive this users info by using ldap_search(). This is what I have now: $ad = // ldap_connection id $filter = "(|(sn=$username*)(givenname=$username*))"; $attr = array("displayname", "mail", "mobile", "homephone", "telephonenumber", "streetaddress", "postalcode", "physicaldeliveryofficename", "l"); $dn = // OU, DC etc.. ldap_search($ad,$dn,$filter,$attr); It works, but i'm not sure it will work if two users have almost the same names. How do I only search for their unique username so that i always only get one user?

    I have got around 800 files of maximum 55KB-100KB each where the data is in this format Date/Time/Float1/Float2/Float3/Float4/Integer Date is in DD/MM/YYYY format and Time is in the format of HH:MM Here the date ranges from say 1st May to 1June and each day, the Time varies from 09:00 to 15:30. I want to run a program so that, for each file, it extracts the data pertaining to a particular given date and writes to a file. I will not face any problem in writing into directory operations. I am trying to get around, to form a to do a search and extract operation. I dont know, how to do it, would like to have some idea. Thanks Soham

    I want to get all midi (*.mid) files from a site that's set up pretty simple in terms of directory tree structure. I wish we had wget installed here, but that's another party.... The site is VGMusic.com and the path containing all of the midi files is: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/ I tried glob'ing it out, but I suppose that glob only works locally? The new solution will be in C# and will use SQL CLR user functions. The assembly that I am trying to deploy to SQL Server contains a reference to System.DirectoryServices. The project does compile without any errors but I am unable to deploy the assembly to the SQL Server because of the following error: Error: Assembly 'system.directoryservices, version=2.0.0.0, culture=neutral, publickeytoken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a.' was not found in the SQL catalog. What are the correct steps for registering System.DirectoryServices on SQL Server?

  • Why does Spring Security's BindAuthenticator require read permissions for users?

    Hi all, I'm currently implementing/configuring the LDAP authentication of a Java web application using Spring Security 3.0. I'm using Microsoft AD LDS as LDAP server and chose the Spring's BindAuthenticator. I found out that the authentication only works if the authenticated user is a member of the partition's Readers role. The BindAuthenticator tries to read the user's attributes after the authentication, which seems reasonable in scenarios where authorities are retrieved from the directory service. Being new to LDAP and AD, is this an acceptable practise when the application is integrated in an existing AD structure? Can fine-tune an give the user dns only read permissions for their own attributes rather than adding them to the Reader group? Thanks Thomas

    I am wondering whether watching a file/directory for changes using the FileSystemWatcher class is extremely memory intensive. I am developing a desktop application in C# that will be running behind the scenes continuously on low-performance computers, and I need some way of checking to see if various files have changed. I can think of a few solutions: Watch the directories using FileSystemWatcher. Run a timed thread on an interval that goes through and manually checks this. Check manually every time the actionhandler thread runs (the program will occasionally do something, on an action). Any suggestions? Thanks! badPanda

    I have got around 800 files of maximum 55KB-100KB each where the data is in this format Date/Time/Float1/Float2/Float3/Float4/Integer Date is in DD/MM/YYYY format and Time is in the format of HH:MM Here the date ranges from say 1st May to 1June and each day, the Time varies from 09:00 to 15:30. I want to run a program so that, for each file, it extracts the data pertaining to a particular given date and writes to a file. I will not face any problem in writing into directory operations. I am trying to get around, to form a to do a search and extract operation. I dont know, how to do it, would like to have some idea. Thanks Soham

    In my code I have the following statement import com.apple.dnssd.*; and compiler (javac) complains about this line. It writes that the package does not exist. But I think that it could be that "javac" search the package in a wrong place (directory). In this respect I have two questions: How can I know where javac search for the packages? I think that it is very likely that I have the above mentioned package but I do not know where it is located. What are the typical place to look for the packages?

  • how to iterate over non-English file names in PHP

    I have a directory which contains several files, many of which has non-english name. I am using PHP in Windows 7. I want to list the filename and their content using PHP. Currently I am using DirectoryIterator and file_get_contents. This works for English files names but not for non-English (chinese) file names. For example, I have filenames like "?? ?? ?????????.eml", "hello ??????.eml". DirectoryIterator is not able to get the filename using ->getFilename() file_get_contents is also not able to open even if I hard code the filename in its parameter. How can I do it?

  • Does a System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement.Principal ever have a null GUID?

    I have a situation where I need to store a globally unique identifier that points to an Active Directory user account. I'm leaning towards the Guid because it is easier to store than the Sid. According to the MSDN entry, the property (which is a Nullable), will always return null if the ContextType is set to "Machine." I don't need to worry about this because our ContextType will always be set to "Domain." My question is, will this property ever return null if the ContextType is "Domain"? In other words, will an account in an AD DS store always have a Guid?

  • DOS batch script to list folders that have a specific file in them

    I'm trying to create a file that has a list of directories that have a specific file name in them. Let's say I'm trying to find directories that have a file named *.joe in them. I initially tried just a simple dir /ad *.joe dir_list.txt , but it searches the directory names for *.joe, so no go. Then I concluded that a for loop was probably my best bet. I started with for /d /r %a in ('dir *.joe /b') do @echo %a dir_list.txt and it looked like it wasn't executing the dir command. I added the "usebackq", but that seems to only work for the /F command extension. Ideas?
