• Empathy minimizing automatically

  I am able to login into empathy, but the thing is whenever i am clicking over it from the right top task bar so that I could open it and see who all are online, it opens just for a second and minimises automatically. I am still logged in only, no issues with that , but i am not able to open the client at all, its like i am restricted tot he panel and its notifications only whenever someone sends me a message. so can anyone suggest a method via which I can stop this automation of empathy?

  Is there a way to have gcc generate %pc relative addresses of constants? Even when the string appears in the text segment, arm-elf-gcc will generate a constant pointer to the data, load the address of the pointer via a %pc relative address and then dereference it. For a variety of reasons, I need to skip the middle step.   My program checks to test if a word or phrase is a palindrome (reads the same both backward and forward, ex "racecar"). The issue I'm having is after someone enters in "racecar" getting it to actually test. In the below code, I marked where if I type in "racecar" and run, Java returns the correct answer so I know I'm right there. But what am I missing as far as entering it into the console. I think my code is ok, but maybe I have something missing or in the wrong spot?   Hi, I am trying to use Clipboard API (in Delphi) to extract images from Word documents. my code works OK in Windows XP/2003 but in windows 2008 64 bit it doesn't work. in win 2008 i get an error saying that Clipboard.Formats is empty and doesn't contain any format. The image seems to be copied to the Clipboard (i can see it in the clipboard via Word) but when i try to ask the clipboard what format does he have it said it doesn't have any formats. how can i access the clipboard programmatically on win 2008/Vista? from what i know of 2008 64 bit, it might be a security issue... here is the code snippet: This is how i am trying to copy the Image to the clipboard: W.ActiveDocument.InlineShapes.Item(1).Select; // W is a word ole object W.Selection.Copy; and this is how i try to paste it. • Full Text Search MSSQL2008 show wrong display_item for Thai Language

  I am working on MSSQL2008. My task is to investigate the issue that why FTS cannot find the right result for Thai. First, I am having the table which enable the FTS on the column 'ItemName' which is nvarchar. The Catalog is created with the Thai Language. Note that, Thai language is one of the language that doesn't separate the word by space so '????' '???' '????' are written like this in the sentence '???????????' In the table, there are many rows that include the word (????) for examples row#1 (ItemName: '???????????') On the webpage, I try to search for '????' but SQLServer cannot find it. So I try to investigate it by trying the following query in SQLServer select * from sys.dm_fts_parser(N'"???????????"', 1054, 0, 0) To see how the words are broken. The first one is the text to be break. The second parameter is specify that using Thai (WorkBreaker, so on). and here is the result: row#1 (display_item: '????', source_item: '???????????') row#2 (display_item: '????', source_item: '???????????') row#3 (display_item: '??', source_item: '???????????') Notice that the first and second row display the worng display_item '?' in the '????' isn't even Thai characters. '?' in '????' is not Thai charater either. So the question is where is those alien characters come from? I guess this i why I cannot search for '????' because the word breaker is mis-borken and keeping the wrong character in the indexes. Please help!

• SQL Server 2008 Running trigger after Insert, Update locks original table

  Hi Folks, I have a serious performance problem. I have a database with (related to this problem), 2 tables. 1 Table contains strings with some global information. The second table contains the string stripped down to each individual word. So the string is like indexed in the second table, word by word. The validity of the data in the second table is of less important then the validity of the data in the first table. Since the first table can grow like towards 1*10^6 records and the second table having an average of like 10 words for 1 string can grow like 1*10^7 records, i use a nolock in order to read the second this leaves me free for inserting new records without locking it (Expect many reads on both tables). I have a script which keeps on adding and updating rows to the first table in a MERGE statement. On average, the data beeing merged are like 20 strings a time and the scripts runs like ones every 5 seconds. On the first table, i have a trigger which is beeing invoked on a Insert or Update, which takes the newly inserted or updated data and calls a stored procedure on it which makes sure the data is indexed in the second table. (This takes some significant time). The problem is that when having the trigger disbaled, Reading the first table happens in a few ms. However, when enabling the trigger and your in bad luck of trying to read the first table while this is beeing updated, Our webserver gives you a timeout after 10 seconds (which is way to long anyways). I can quess from this part that when running the trigger, the first table is kept (partially) in a lock untill the trigger is completed. What do you think, if i'm right, is there a easy way around this? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Koen

  Hi. I'm a little behind in my X86 Asm class, and the book is making me want to shoot myself in the face. The examples in the book are insufficient and, honestly, very frustrating because of their massive dependencies upon the author's link library, which I hate. I wanted to learn ASM, not how to call his freaking library, which calls more of his library. Anyway, I'm stuck on a lab that requires console input and output. So far, I've got this for my input: input PROC INVOKE ReadConsole, inputHandle, ADDR buffer, Buf - 2, ADDR bytesRead, 0 mov eax,OFFSET buffer Ret input EndP I need to use the input and output procedures multiple times, so I'm trying to make it abstract. I'm just not sure how to use the data that is set to eax here. My initial idea was to take that string array and manually crawl through it by adding 8 to the offset for each possible digit (Input is integer, and there's a little bit of processing) but this doesn't work out because I don't know how big the input actually is. So, how would you swap the string array into an integer that could be used?   I'm trying to access a relationship (one to many) programatically. My Data model contains an NSManagedEntity called language (with a two string attributes) with a relationship to an entity called WordCategory (one-to-many). I use an NSFetchRequest to get all the Language entities. that works fine. I get the valueForKey for the relationship and that works fine. I can work with its objects. However, when I try to send the message count to the NSSet that stores the WordCategory objects I get a In other words, this line works: NSLog(@"word category count %@",[[wordCategory anyObject] valueForKey:@"name"]); This one doesn't: NSLog(@"word category count %@",[wordCategory count] I get a the message: EXC_BAD_ACCESS in the debugger. However, I have not found a way to implement it. I am not allowed to use Postgres or any similar tool to keep my data neutralized. I want to have efficient merges, sorts and additions according to fileID, wordID or wordCount for the type below.   In SQL, the name Join gives an idea of "merging" or a sense of "union", making something bigger. But in fact, as in the other post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2706051/in-sql-a-join-is-actually-an-intersection-and-it-is-also-a-linkage-or-a-sidew it turns out that a Join (Inner Join) is actually an Intersection. So if we think of Join = Inner Join = Intersect Join Left Outer Join = Left Union Join Full Outer Join = Full Union Join = Union Join then we always get a feel of what's happening, and maybe never forget what they are easily. In a way, we can think of Intersect as "making it less", therefore it is excluding something. That's why the name "Join" won't go with the idea of "Intersect". But in fact, both Intersect and Union can be thought of as: Union: bringing something together and merge them unconditionally. Intersect: bringing something together and merge them based on some condition. so the "bringing something together" is probably what "Join" is all about. It is like, Intersection is a "half glass of water" -- we can thinking of it as "excluding something" or as "bringing something together and accepting the common ones". So if the word "Intersect Join" is used, maybe a clear picture is there, and "Union Join" can be a clear picture too. Maybe the word "Inner Join" and "Outer Join" is very clear when we use SQL a lot. Somehow, the word "Outer" tends to give a feeling that it is "outside" and excluding something rather than a "Union".
