• Site stopped working after adding NIC card

  My boss made a bit of blunder yesterday, he added a secondary NIC card to the a machine hosting a website so that it could be part of the local network. He also added it to the <blah>.local domain (which all our servers are being added too). The website failed following this. He thought this was because the machine was now called <blahblah>.<blah>.local, so he removed it from the domain and restarted. Same problem a asp.net error, something to do with a binding error. Sorry he didn’t make a note of it. He traced it back to the WCF services that are running on the site. Anyway, it looks like ASP.NET gets confused connecting to the database when there’s multiple network cards. The 173.x.x.x IP address (which is internal), doesn’t route to the internet.. Therefore it’s trying to connect via the wrong network. Any ideas about how to resolve it?

In the game your character have 9 "slots" for weapons and armors, 1 for each "type": Light Weapon, Heavy Weapon, Body Armor, Head Armor, etc. So I made a list of all weapons and armors available in the game, 1 item per row. Basically I need a LOOKUP (or VLOOKUP, or anything else) that uses 2 criteria to find a given row, the item type and the X marker. Question is: HOW? I am using OpenOffice Calc 3.2.1, but since it shares so many functions with MS Excel, answers for Excel are also fine (as long as it only uses regular formulas, no VBScript or Macros or VBA etc) Last but not least, suggestions / solutions for rearranging the data so it makes this problem easier to solve are also welcome. • MacBook's Airport not working from menu bar

  All of the sudden my MacBook doesn't connect to my wireless after waking from sleep. My network shows up at full signal strength and it remembers the password correctly, but I get an error message when I try to connect from the menu bar. The only way I can get on the internet is to go through Network Diagnostics and turn it on there. I don't understand why it works every time through Network Diagnostics and never on it's own or through the airport menu bar. Nothing has been changed or installed or reset on my computer that I know of. Restarting doesn't fix it, nor does turning off the airport card. Any ideas?

• WOL not working with two NIC's

  We have recently moved from a windows 2003 server to an 08 R2. Running the program from the command line says that the magic packet has successfully been sent but it never actually reached the destination computer. We have two NIC's on the server. If I disable the NIC that isn't (currently) in use, WOL will work fine, but in the future we will need to use both NIC's. Also, we use MAC Addresses for WOL.

  I have successfully installed centos on a virtual machine via Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 R2. This server has one NIC. I have created a virtual NIC, and virtual subnet, and within the virtual machine (via console) I can ping the gateway. But not google. Is there certain steps I am missing, I feel like I'm one setting away. Im not sure what other information would be useful. • 2Wire USB Network Adapter Not Working With Windows 7

  I installed Windows 7 on a separate drive, and everything works fine, but I can't get the above network adapter to work properly. It's displayed in Device Manager as a USB device, and I have the driver that makes it function in Vista, but when I run the Driver Wizard and direct it to directory where I have the Vista driver, it almost immediately says "Can't install driver." Is there any work around to this?

  Hello everybody, I have PAM+LDAP SSL running on Debian Lenny, it works well. I always want to restrict who's able to connect, in the past I used pam_groupdn for that but I recently got a situation where I has to accept 2 different groups. So I used pam_filter like this : pam_filter |(groupattribute=server)(groupattribute=restricted_server) The problem is that with this statement, passwd doesn't work anymore with LDAP accounts. Any idea why ? • KVM/Libvirt bridged/routed networking not working on newer guest kernels

  I have a dedicated server running Debian 6, with Libvirt (0.9.11.3) and Qemu-KVM (qemu-kvm-1.0+dfsg-11, Debian). I am having a problem getting bridged/routed networking to work in KVM guests with newer kernels (2.6.38). NATted networking works fine though. Older kernels work perfectly fine as well. • why did preview stop working from firefox?

  I just installed adobe reader, and now when I click on a PDF in the browser, it is not opened in preview. Adobe doesn't work either, and I am stuck without having the PDF viewed at all. I right clicked on a PDF, and preview is still my default viewer. So this: http://www.ehow.com/how_6764524_make-preview-default-pdf-viewer.html is not helping. Any ideas? I want to be able to use Preview in Firefox.

• built in "Offer Remote Assistance" not working because of permissions

  I'm trying to enable permissions for a user on a Windows7 machine to use the built in feature called "Offer Remote Assistance" or "Windows Remote Assistance". This feature works fine if the user is added to the "domain admins" security group, but for security reasons, I cannot leave him in that group. This is within a SBS2003 Domain. I have added the user and also a group that he is apart of to the Small Business Server Remote Assistance Policy, after following some documentation I was able to find, but this has not worked. • Can't Set Crystal Report Selection Formula Programatically

  Hello all, first, I can't stand Crystal! Okay, that's off my chest... Now, we have an old VB6 app we maintain for a client, which uses the Crystal Automation library to programatically change the record selection formulas in a bunch of Crystal Reports 8.5 reports. There are two reports which are ALMOST identical. I had to change them recently to add another field from another table. When I added the table in to the reports though, while it added it in the visual designer, it did not add it in the FROM clause of the SQL statement. So, I manually edited the SQL statement to add in the additional join. KO, works great. If i run the reports in Crystal preview mode, they work exactly as expected. Now, the users went to test the changes from within the VB app. One of the reports works fine and dandy. The other report however, is failing to set the selection formula as expected. The code sets the selection formulas using the function PESetSelectionFormula. I verified that the string being passed in to the function as the new selection formula is correct via a step-through examination of the variables. The call to PESetSelectionFormula seems to be working okay, and is returning a value of 1, which as near as I can find anywhere indicates success. (The other report, which is working fine from code is also returning 1.) However, the report is failing with an error: Error Code: 534 - Error detected by database DLL. The code, for debugging purposes dumps out the SQL string currently being used by the report. The SQL coming out of the report is: SELECT ... FROM ... WHERE ORDER BY ... As you can see, the WHERE clause is blank, which I would imagine is why the database DLL is upchucking on this statement. I don't understand why the automation library is not setting the WHERE clause even though the call to PESetSelectionFormula is being passed a valid string and is returning success. I thought perhaps it was because I had manually edited the SQL in the report to add the table it wasn't adding, but I did the same thing in the other nearly identical report, and that one is working fine. Anyone have any ideas why PESetSelectionFormula might report success but not actually do anything? P.S. I have already tried doing a Database Verify Database from the menus, and that said the report was all up to date and did not help at all.

Everything is fine, but for mail sent internally (from [email protected] to [email protected]), Exchange is not using the send connectors I have pointing to Google's servers. I believe my question is similar to this question: How to force internal email through an smtp connector in exchange 2007 Again, if a user is connected to the Exchange server and tries to send to [email protected] it works just fine, but I cannot seem to force *@mydomain.com to route correctly. How do you allow wget to use /dev/random so it will do ssl?

• ADMIN$ and other shares not working remotely on XP machines

  I'm trying to use ADMT to migrate several XP machines to a new domain and the utility (nor command line) is able to access the admin$ share or any drive share. I've added the required registry key (HKCurrent\Services\LanMan\Param) for both servers and workstation admin sharing, rebooted the PC and still am unable to access it. How can I access the admin share on these PCs? If it helps, this machine used to have McAfee installed, and the Windows firewall enabled. I stoppped both of them and the machine is still not allowing me to access it remotely by a drive$ share.

• How do you set DEBUG or RELEASE builds in Visual Studio 2008 (VB.net)

  This has been driving me crazy...I have VS 2008 and am developing vb.net applications. How do I specify if I am building a debug or release version? The description I found of how to do this on the Microsoft site (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wx0123s5.aspx) don't seem to be accurate. This should be pretty straight forward shouldn't it? It seems that a friend of mine that does C# development says it is easy in his environment. Are the VS environments different between C# and VB?
