  I'm connecting to Informix 6.5 using the IBM OLE DB Driver. Some clarification: Informix Dynamic Server Workgroup Edition. Please note that there are many versions of IDS/WE - it helps to be precise about which version you have. It might be something like 10.00.TC1; the version number could be as old as 7.xx.TCx, or as new as 11.50.TCx. If your server is not on Windows but on Unix - or is on 64-bit Windows - the letter 'T' would change to 'U' (32-bit Unix) or 'F' (64-bit - Unix or Windows), or even 'H' (a particular HP-UX configuration). When I try to create a dataset using the VS DataSet wizard, after clicking on test connection it tells me 'Base Table not found'? The OLEDB driver is the official one provided by IBM. The problem with the 'Table not found' dialog is that Visual Studio doesn't tell me the table name but only the error! Has anyone else had this problem?

• How to complie x64 asp.net website?

  I'm trying to compile (using Visual Studio) an ASP.Net website with the Chilkat library. The compilation fails due to this error: Could not load file or assembly 'ChilkatDotNet2, Version=9.0.8.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=eb5fc1fc52ef09bd' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I've been told that this error occurs because of platform noncompliance. The weird thing is that although the compilation fails, the site works once accessed from a browser. My theory is that the IIS compilation uses csc.exe compiler from the Framework64 (64 bit) folder while the Visual Studio uses csc.exe compiler from the Framework (32 bit) folder. If this is acually it, how can I configure my Visual studio to run with the 64 bit compiler for ASP.Net sites? This is my current development configuration: Windows 7 (x64). Visual Studio 2008 Pro (x86 of course...). Chilkat library (x64) IIS/Asp.net (x64).

• CPU and profiling not supported for remote jvisualvm session

  When monitoring a remote app (using jstatd) I can neither profile nor monitor cpu consumption. Heap monitoring (provided I do not use G1) works. jvisualvm provides the message "Not supported for this JVM." in the CPU graph window. Is there anything missing in my setup? The google showed up next to no results.   I have a .Net 4.0 WPF application that requires an embedded database. MS Access doesn't work on 64 bit Windows I'm told. And I having issues with SSCE: Unable to load DLL 'sqlceme35.dll': This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B1) sqlceme35.dll is installed into my application's program files directory, so I can't seem to figure out why Windows XP Pro doesn't see it. I was wondering about other embedded databases options I might use that work on both 32 and 64 bit windows. Any suggestions?

  Hi, The problem is the following: On Windows x64, pointers are 64-bit, but type long is 32-bit. MSVC doesn't seem to care, and even omits warnings about pointer truncation on the default warning level. Since recently, there is a GCC that target x86_64-w64-mingw32, or better Windows x64 native. GCC produces errors when pointers are truncated (which is the logical thing to do...), and this is causing trouble in WebKit and more specifically, the Netscape Plugin API: First, there's the files (I can only post one hyperlink...): http://trac.webkit.org/browser/trunk/WebCore/ bridge/npapi.h -- defines uint32 as 32-bit int type (~line 145) plugins/win/PluginViewWin.cpp -- casts Windows window handles to 32-bit int, truncating them (~line 450) My proposed fix was to change the uint32 casts to uintptr_t, which makes GCC happy, but still puts a 64-bit value in a uint32 (=unsigned long). I have no clue how to solve this, because clearly WebKit is happy truncating pointers on Win64... How can I solve this the right way? Thanks!

• Coldfusion 9 installation problem with IIS7

  Windows web server 2008 R2 64 bit, CF9 64 bit, IIS7, ISAPI extensions and filters and II6 metabase compatability installed. OS is on C default, and trying to install CF to D: Testing IIS and it shows index.html correctly from c:\inetpub\wwwroot at http://localhost/index.html Then I install CF to D:\ , single standard server licence, select run with all IIS sites, select C:\inetpub\wwwroot as the web root for administrator, and when it gets to the bit where it is supposed to open up administrator to complete the installation it opens up the browser with a 500 error. Now when I go back to http://localhost/index.html I also get a 500 error, if i uninstall CF I can again reach the html page. CFIDE has been installed in C:\inetpub\wwwroot presumably correctly. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please. Update The exact IIS error is HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred. • Compiling a c++ project using blas (Fortran) in Matlab mex

  I am trying to use a package here. I have no problem compiling it under 64-bit Linux as all the Makefiles are already provides. Only minor changes are needed, which I can handle. However, I have a problem compiling it under 64-bit Windows. I have installed gfortran and also compiled BLAS and CBLAS to their static libraries. The problem is that Matlab mex does not support GCC in windows, so I need to use VC 2008 instead. I found in the Makefile this line is to get the final klr_train.mexw64: klr_train.$(MEX_EXT): klr_train.cpp $(MEX) $(MEX_OPTION) klr_train.cpp ../libklr/libklr.cpp $(CBLASDIR)/lib/LINUX/cblas_LINUX.a $(BLASDIR)/blas_LINUX.a -lgfortran I don't know how to execute this line using VC 2008's command line tool cl. As cl obviously does not support -lgfortran, which I think is used to link some library in gfortran to support BLAS.

• mysql gem for snow leopard

  I had trouble with the gem at first but got it to work when I installed the 64-bit MySQL and reinsatlled the gem with arch flags. So it work in rails. The error I used to get was uninitialized constant MysqlCompat::MysqlRes but that is now gone :) However in Xcode when I run a RubyCocoa project I still get the old error of uninitialized constant MysqlCompat::MysqlRes Does anyone know why this may be? Is it because the gdb is 64-bit? How can it work in Rails but not in RubyCocoa? A little debugging shows that it fails to load mysql_api.bundle /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/mysql-2.8.1/lib/mysql_api.bundle: dlopen(/Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/mysql-2.8.1/lib/mysql_api.bundle, 9): no suitable image found. • Interface Builder error: IBXMLDecoder: The value for key is too large to fit into a 32 bit integer

  I'm working with Robert Payne's fork of PSMTabBarControl that works with IB 3.2 (thanks BTW Robert!): http://codaset.com/robertjpayne/psmtabbarcontrol/. The demo application works fine on 64-bit systems, but when I try to open the XIB file in Interface Builder on a 32-bit system I get: IBXMLDecoder: The value (4654500848) for key (myTrackingRectTag) is too large to fit into a 32 bit integer Building the app as 32 bit works, but then running it gives: PSMTabBarControlDemo[9073:80f] * -[NSKeyedUnarchiver decodeInt32ForKey:]: value (4654500848) for key (myTrackingRectTag) too large to fit in 32-bit integer Not sure if this is a generic IB issue that can occur when moving between 64 and 32 bit systems, or if this is a more specific issue with this code.   I'm working through Michael Hartl's tutorial trying to learn Rails for the first time, and I've run into some issues. I recently reinstalled the whole Rails Installer because I had apparently inadvertently deleted some important files. Now, when I try running a test I get the following error: sh.exe": /c/Program Files (x86)/ruby-1.9.3/bin/bundle: "c:/Program: bad interpre ter: No such file or directory I checked my PATH and attempted to use the solution outlined here: Bundle command not found. Bad Interpreter ..but putting quotation marks around "C:\Program Files (x86)\ruby-1.9.3\bin" didn't do anything for me. I ran $ rails -v and got the following output: $ rails -v ?[31mCould not find multi_json-1.3.6 in any of the sources?[0m ?[33mRun `bundle install` to install missing gems.?[0m So then I tried running $bundle install and got the following issue again: Tom@TOM-PC /c/sample_app (updating-users) $ bundle install sh.exe": /c/Program Files (x86)/ruby-1.9.3/bin/bundle: "c:/Program: bad interpre ter: No such file or directory I'd really appreciate any help -- I've spent 5+ hours today trying to get back on track and am still at a loss.   I am trying to run django on osx 10.7 (lion) with apache mod_wsgi and virtualenv. My site works if I use the django testing server: (baseline)otter:hello mathew$ python manage.py runserver but it doesn't work when I run apache. Registry.GetValue(...); But, I'm facing a curious behavior : Every time, the returned value is the correct one, but sometimes, it is followed by an unexpected "?"   Hello all, Recently I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and now I can't run programs built with wxPython. All these errors are appearing at least 100 times a day. After doing some RnD on internet i have done following things:- 1- define machine key in my web config. 2- created robots.txt file and add ScriptResource.axd file in that. • Rails and image gallery: how to make it flexible?

  Hy! In my app, every profile has a gallery and this gallery has images. They can have 1 or 1000 images, so when i show up the gallery i only need a part of the images, let's say 12 images. Then in my ajax gallery when, someone requests more images are loaded. This gallery is SEO, so, the main url is: "/profile-url/" and then, there are these urls too: "/profile-url/images/1" that loads the image with the id=1 in the database. The gallery have to show only 6 images per stack, so When i request the page with the image.id=64, only have to show from 60 to 72, and to select the 64, that is done with js. how may i add a request like this? and how to order them? thanks

  I have a .NET app that is dependent on a native DLL. I have the .NET app set as AnyCPU. In the post-build step, I plan to copy the correct native DLL from some directory (x86 or AMD64) and place it in the target path. However, this doesn't work. On a 64-bit machine, the environment variable PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE is "x86" in Visual Studio. My alternative right now is to create a small tool that outputs the processor architecture. This will be used by the post-build step. Is there a better alternative? (Side Note: when deploying/packaging the app, the right native DLL is copied to the right platform. But this means we have two separate release folders for x86 and AMD64, which is OK since this is for a device driver. The app is a utility tool for the driver).

• Large ResultSet on postgresql query

  I'm running a query against a table in a postgresql database. The database is on a remote machine. The table has around 30 sub-tables using postgresql partitioning capability. The query will return a large result set, something around 1.8 million rows. In my code I use spring jdbc support, method JdbcTemplate.query, but my RowCallbackHandler is not being called. My best guess is that the postgresql jdbc driver (I use version 8.3-603.jdbc4) is accumulating the result in memory before calling my code. I thought the fetchSize configuration could control this, but I tried it and nothing changes. I did this as postgresql manual recomended. This query worked fine when I used Oracle XE. But I'm trying to migrate to postgresql because of the partitioning feature, which is not available in Oracle XE. • Assigning an @Annotation enum a value

  I created enum Restrictions{ none, enumeration, fractionDigits, length, maxExclusive, maxInclusive, maxLength, minExclusive, minInclusive, minLength, pattern, totalDigits, whiteSpace; public Restrictions setValue(int value){ this.value = value; return this; } public int value; } So that I could happily do something like this, which is perfectly legal syntax. Restrictions r1 = Restrictions.maxLength.setValue(64); The reason being is, I am using enum to restrict the type of restriction that could be used, and be able to assign a value to that restriction. However, my actual motivation is to use that restriction in an @annotation. @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) @Target({ElementType.TYPE, ElementType.FIELD, ElementType.METHOD}) public @interface Presentable { Restrictions[] restrictions() default Restrictions.none; } So that, I intended to do this: @Presentable(restrictions=Restrictions.maxLength.setValue(64)) public String userName; to which, the compiler croaks The value for annotation enum attribute must be an enum constant expression. Is there a way to accomplish what I wish to accomplish

• Multiplying char and int together in C part 2

  If I do the following: int c0 = CHAR_MAX; //8 bit int c1 = CHAR_MAX; //8-bit int i = c0*c1; //store in 32-bit variable printf("%d\n", i); //prints 16129 We can see that there is no problem with to 8-bit numbers being multiplied together, and producing a 32-bit output. However, if I do int i0 = INT_MAX; //32-bit int i1 = INT_MAX; //32 bit variable long long int ll = i0*i1; //store in 64-bit variable printf("%lld\n", ll); //prints 1..overflow!! In this case, two 32-bit variables were multiplied together, overflowed, and then were assigned to the 64-bit variable. So why did this overflow happen when multiplying the ints, but not the chars? Is it dependent on the default word-size of my machine? (32-bits)

• Does the compiler provides extra stack space for byte-spilling?
