  • Stored procedure or function expects parameter which is not supplied

    - by user2920046
I am trying to insert data into a SQL Server database by calling a stored procedure, but I am getting the error Procedure or function 'SHOWuser' expects parameter '@userID', which was not supplied. My stored procedure is called "SHOWuser". I have checked it thoroughly and no parameters is missing. My code is: public void SHOWuser(string userName, string password, string emailAddress, List preferences) { SqlConnection dbcon = new SqlConnection(conn); try { SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(); cmd.Connection = dbcon; cmd.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.CommandText = "SHOWuser"; cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@userName", userName); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@password", password); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@emailAddress", emailAddress); dbcon.Open(); int i = Convert.ToInt32(cmd.ExecuteScalar()); cmd.Parameters.Clear(); cmd.CommandText = "tbl_pref"; foreach (int preference in preferences) { cmd.Parameters.Clear(); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@userID", Convert.ToInt32(i)); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@preferenceID", Convert.ToInt32(preference)); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); } } catch (Exception) { throw; } finally { dbcon.Close(); } and the stored procedure is: ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[SHOWuser] -- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here ( @userName varchar(50), @password nvarchar(50), @emailAddress nvarchar(50) ) AS BEGIN INSERT INTO tbl_user(userName,password,emailAddress) values(@userName,@password,@emailAddress) select tbl_user.userID,tbl_user.userName,tbl_user.password,tbl_user.emailAddress, stuff((select ',' + preferenceName from tbl_pref_master inner join tbl_preferences on tbl_pref_master.preferenceID = tbl_preferences.preferenceID where tbl_preferences.userID=tbl_user.userID FOR XML PATH ('')),1,1,' ' ) AS Preferences from tbl_user SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY(); END Pls help, Thankx in advance...

  • Save gcc compile status to a text file for Java

    - by JohnBore
I'm making a C Assessment Program through Java, which has a bunch of programming questions for C, and it lets the user input an answer in the form of C code, and then press a "Compile" button, which is linked to a bat file that runs the user input code through gcc. I've got the input and compiling working, but I need to get the output from the compiler and get that to print textarea within the program. I can get a simple "Hello, world" compiling, but I'm having trouble getting programs that require a user input with scanf, for example, to be printed. else if(e.getSource().equals(compile)){ if(questionNumber<1){ JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(programFrame, "Please start the assessment", "Compile Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); } else{ FileOutputStream fileWrite; try { fileWrite = new FileOutputStream("demo/demo.c"); new PrintStream(fileWrite).println(input.getText());//saves what the user has entered in to a C source file fileWrite.close(); @SuppressWarnings("unused") Process process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c compile.bat");//runs the batch file to compile the source file compileCode(); try{ fileStream = new FileInputStream("demo/output.txt"); inputStream = new DataInputStream(fileStream); bufferRead = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(inputStream)); while((stringLine = bufferRead.readLine())!=null){ compiled.append(stringLine); compiled.append("\n"); } inputStream.close(); } catch(IOException exc){ System.err.println("Unable to read file"); System.exit(-1); } } catch (IOException exc) { JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(programFrame, "Demo file not found", "File Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); } } This is the actionPerformed method for the "Compile" button, the compileCode() is the JFrame that displays the output and "compiled" is the textArea for the output. My batch file is: C: cd dev-cpp\bin gcc.exe H:\workspace\QuestionProgram\demo\demo.c -o demo > H:\workspace\QuestionProgram\demo\compilestatus.txt demo > H:\workspace\QuestionProgram\demo\output.txt I'm not sure how I can do it, so the frame is created for the output of the code if the code requires a user input as the command prompt doesn't open without adding "START" to .exec(), but then the frame appears before the program has finished running. Also, how would I get the output of the compiler if the compile fails because of an error? The way I've got it in my batch file at the moment doesn't put anything in a text file if it fails.

  • .NET datetime issue with SQL stored procedure

    - by DanO
I am getting the below error when executing my application on a Windows XP machine with .NET 2.0 installed. On my computer Windows 7 .NET 2.0 - 3.5 I am not having any issues. The target SQL server version is 2005. This error started occurring when I added the datetime to the stored procedure. I have been reading alot about using .NET datetime with SQL datetime and I still have not figured this out. If someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Here is the where I believe the error is coming from. private static void InsertRecon(string computerName, int EncryptState, TimeSpan FindTime, Int64 EncryptSize, DateTime timeWritten) { SqlConnection DBC = new SqlConnection("server=server;UID=InventoryServer;Password=pass;database=Inventory;connection timeout=30"); SqlCommand CMD = new SqlCommand(); try { CMD.Connection = DBC; CMD.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; CMD.CommandText = "InsertReconData"; CMD.Parameters.Add("@CNAME", SqlDbType.NVarChar); CMD.Parameters.Add("@ENCRYPTEXIST", SqlDbType.Int); CMD.Parameters.Add("@RUNTIME", SqlDbType.Time); CMD.Parameters.Add("@ENCRYPTSIZE", SqlDbType.BigInt); CMD.Parameters.Add("@TIMEWRITTEN", SqlDbType.DateTime); CMD.Parameters["@CNAME"].Value = computerName; CMD.Parameters["@ENCRYPTEXIST"].Value = EncryptState; CMD.Parameters["@RUNTIME"].Value = FindTime; CMD.Parameters["@ENCRYPTSIZE"].Value = EncryptSize; CMD.Parameters["@TIMEWRITTEN"].Value = timeWritten; DBC.Open(); CMD.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException e) { PostMessage(e.Message); } finally { DBC.Close(); CMD.Dispose(); DBC.Dispose(); } } Unhandled Exception: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: The SqlDbType enumeration value, 32, is invalid. • Batch break up after call other batch file

    - by Sven Arno Jopen
i have the problem, that my batch process breaking up each time after call a other batch file. The batch files are used to run a make process out from IBM Rhapsody. There convert the call from Rhapsody to the Visual Studio tools. So nmake will be called from the batch after make different settings. The scripts aren’t written completely from me, I only adapt theme to run under both windows architecture versions, x86 and x64. The first script (vs2005_make.bat) will be called from Rhapsody and run to the “call” statement. The second script (Vcvars_VisualStudio2005.bat) runs to the end. But the first script isn’t resume working, at this point the process break up without a error message. I'm not very familiar with batch files, this is the first time I make more than simple console commands in a batch file. So I hope I have given all information’s which needed, otherwise ask me. Here the start script (vs2005_make.bat): :: parameter 1 - Makefile which should be used :: parameter 2 - The make target mark @echo off IF "%2"=="" set target=all IF "%2"=="all" set target=all IF "%2"=="build" set target=all IF "%2"=="rebuild" set target=clean all IF "%2"=="clean" set target=clean set RegQry="HKLM\Hardware\Description\System\CentralProcessor\0" REG.exe Query %RegQry% > checkOS.txt Find /i "x86" < CheckOS.txt > StringCheck.txt IF %ERRORLEVEL%==0 ( set arch=x86 ) ELSE ( set arch=x64 ) call "%ProgramFiles%\IBM\Rhapsody752\Share\etc\Vcvars_VisualStudio2005.bat" %arch% IF %ERRORLEVEL%==0 ( set makeflags= nmake /nologo /S /F %1 %target% ) del checkOS.txt del StringCheck.txt exit and here the called script (Vcvars_VisualStudio2005.bat): :: param 1 - Processor architecture @echo off ECHO param 1 = %1 IF %1==x86 ( SET ProgrammPath=%ProgramFiles% ) ELSE IF %1==x64 ( SET ProgrammPath=%ProgramFiles(x86)% ) ELSE ( ECHO Unknowen architectur EXIT /B 1 ) SET VSINSTALLDIR="%ProgrammPath%\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE" SET VCINSTALLDIR="%ProgrammPath%\Microsoft Visual Studio 8" SET FrameworkDir=C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework SET FrameworkVersion=v2.0.50727 SET FrameworkSDKDir="%ProgrammPath%\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0" rem Root of Visual Studio common files. VSINSTALLDIR variable is not set. ECHO. Note: The word “Mehr?” in the text output is german and means “more”. I don't know were it comes from and it is possible that it is a bad translation from the English output to german.

  • Redirect batch stderr to file

    - by nivlam
I have a batch file that executes a java application. I'm trying to modify it so that whenever an exception occurs, it'll write the STDERR out to a file. It looks something like this: start java something.jar method %1 %2 2>> log.txt Is there a way I can write the arguments %1 and %2 to the log.txt file as well? I don't want to write it to the log file everytime this batch file gets called, only when an exception occurs. I tried searching for a way to redirect STDERR into a variable, but I couldn't figure it out. Ideally I'd like the log file to look something like: Batch file called with parameters: - "first arg" - "second arg" Exception: java.io.exception etc... ------------------------------------ Batch file called with parameters: - "first arg" - "second arg" Exception: java.io.exception etc...

Basically I want to delete everything from the C:\ drive that has the filename of *.bat System.Diagnostics.Process proc = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); string args = string.Empty; args += "*.bat"; proc.StartInfo.FileName = "del"; proc.StartInfo.WorkingDirectory = "C:\"; proc.StartInfo.Arguments = args.TrimEnd(); proc.Start(); However when code is ran an exception is thrown, "the system cannot find specified file." I know there definitely is files in that root folder containing that file extension.

  • How to execute several batch commands in sequence

    - by ptikobj
I want to create a Windows XP batch script that sequentially performs something like the following: @echo off :: build everything cd \workspace\project1 mvn clean install cd ..\project2 mvn clean install :: run some java file cd \workspace\project3 java -jar somefile.jar When I create a Batch script like this (following these instructions), I still have the problem that the script stops doing something after the first mvn clean install and then displays the command line. How can i execute all of these commands in sequence in one batch file? I don't want to refer to other files, I want to do it in one file.

  • Space in Directory Parameter of svcutil.exe

    - by Drew Frisk
I'm attempting to download metadata for a WCF service using svcutil but I'm running into issues with the /directory:< parameter. The directory I want to save to has a space in it: C:\Service References\Logging so when I execute /t:metadata I receive the following error: Error: The directory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.0A\bin\NETFX 4.0 Tools\References\Logging' could not be found. Verify that the directory exists and that you have the appropriate permissions to read it. It looks to me like the space in "Service References" is causing the issue. From my understanding of command shell (which is very little) spaces act as delimiters for an executable. So I tried escaping the space with a carrot Service^ References and surrounding the path in double quotes "C:\Service References\Logging" but neither of those seem to be working, as the /directory: parameter doesn't recognize them as valid characters in the value. I haven't been able to find any direction in regards to this and svcutil, so I'm at a loss right now. I could download the files to a temp folder and then move them, but I would prefer not to take that approach. I would appreciate any direction that could be given on trying to resolve this. Thanks in advance.

  • bat file using winrar taking too long to run

    - by Jessie
hi guys, i have this scripts which extracts all my folder's and files from my c:\projects locations and put its in winrar and transfers them to c:\backup\project for /f "delims==" %%D in ('DIR C:\projects /A /B /S') do ( "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.EXE" m -r "c:\backup\projects.rar" "%%D" ) i have also tried the below script which uses the same source c:\projects but put them in their own separate winrar folder like in the source then transfers the folders into my c:\backup. FOR /F "DELIMS==" %%D in ('DIR C:\projects /AD /B') DO ( "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.EXE" m -r "C:\Backup\%%D.rar" "%%D" ) my question is, my second scripts only takes two hours to run when my first script takes over 24 hours to run, is there any way to make my first script faster? if anything shouldn't my first script be faster?

  • Running same powershell script multiple asynchronous times with separate runspace

    - by teqnomad
Hi, I have a powershell script which is called by a batch script which is called by Trap Receiver (which also passes environment variables) (running on windows 2008). The traps are flushed out at times in sets of 2-4 trap events, and the batch script will echo the trap details for each message to a logfile, but the powershell script on the next line of the batch script will only appear to process the first trap message (the powershell script writes to the same logfile). My interpetation is that the defaultrunspace is common to all iterations of the script running and this is why the others appear to be ignored. I've tried adding "-sta" when I invoke the powershell script using "powershell.exe -command", but this didn't help. I've researched and found a method using C# but I don't know this language, and busy enough learning powershell, so hoping to find a more direct solution especially as interleaving a "wrapper" between batch and powershell will involve passing the environment variables. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/threads/AsyncPowerShell.aspx I've hunted through stackoverflow, and again the only question of similar vein was using C#. Any suggestions welcome. Some script background: The powershell script is actually a modification of a great script found at gregorystrike website - cant post the link as I'm limited to one link but its the one for Lefthand arrays. Lots of mods so it can do multiple targets from one .ini file, taking in the environment variables, and options to run portions of the script interactively with winform. But you can see the gist of the original script. The batch script is pretty basic. The keys things are I'm trying to filter out trap noise using the :~ operator, and I tried -sta option to see if this would compartmentalise the powershell script. set debug=off set CMD_LINE_ARGS="%*" set LHIPAddress="%2" set VARBIND8="%8" shift shift shift shift shift shift shift set CHASSIS="%9" echo %DATE% %TIME% "Trap Received: %LHIPAddress% %CHASSIS% %VARBIND8%" >> C:\Logs\trap_out.txt set ACTION="%VARBIND8:~39,18%" echo %DATE% %TIME% "Action substring is %ACTION%" 2>&1 >> C:\Logs\trap_out.txt if %ACTION%=="Remote Copy Volume" ( echo Prepostlefthand_env_v2.9 >> C:\Logs\trap_out.txt c:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell.exe -sta -executionpolicy unrestricted -command " & 'C:\Scripts\prepostlefthand_env_v2.9.ps1' Backupsettings.ini ALL" 2>&1 >> C:\Logs\trap_out.txt ) ELSE ( echo %DATE% %TIME% Action substring is %ACTION% so exiting" 2>&1 >> C:\Logs\trap.out.txt ) exit

Now I come to the point where I want to be able to shutdown the program, for example for applying a patch. The server runs simply in a command prompt, how can I signal that I want to perform maintenance on it? I do not think reading System. In is feasible as I am also outputting text in the prompt. • Windows batch file to list folders that have a specific file in them

    - by Lee
I'm trying to create a file that has a list of directories that have a specific file name in them. Let's say I'm trying to find directories that have a file named *.joe in them. I initially tried just a simple dir /ad *.joe > dir_list.txt , but it searches the directory names for *.joe, so no go. Then I concluded that a for loop was probably my best bet. I started with for /d /r %a in ('dir *.joe /b') do @echo %a >> dir_list.txt and it looked like it wasn't executing the dir command. I added the "usebackq", but that seems to only work for the /F command extension. Ideas?

I have been trying to loop over the current directory using the following syntax (which is wrong at present): set mydir = %~p0 for /F "delims=\" %i IN (%mydir%) DO @echo %i Couple of issues in that I cannot seem to pass the 'mydir' variable value in as the search string. It only seems to work if I pass in commands; I have the syntax wrong and cannot work out why. My thinking was to loop over the folder string with a '\' delimiter but this is causing problems too. If I set a variable on each loop then the last value set will be the current folder name. For example, given the following path: C:\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\Archive.bat I would expect to parse out the value 'Folder3'. I need to parse that value out as its name will be part of another folder I am going to create further down in the batch file. Many thanks if anyone can help. I may be barking up the wrong tree completely so any other approaches would be greatly received also. Tim

  • Hi, how to verify if file exists on windows bat file?

    - by CuSS
Hi, i have to create a bat file that does this: 1 - If "C:\myprogram\sync\data.handler" exists, exit; 2 - If "C:\myprogram\html\data.sql" doesn't exists, exit; 3 - In "C:\myprogram\sync\" delete all files and folders except ('test','test3' and 'test2') 4 - Copy "C:\myprogram\html\data.sql" to "C:\myprogram\sync\" 5 - Call other bat file w/ option "sync.bat myprogram.ini". If it was in bash enviroment it was easy for me, but i don't know how to test if a file or folder exists and if it is a file or folder :/ Thanks
