  • Python: Dynamic attribute name generation without exec() or eval()

    Hi, I'm trying to dynamically create buttons at runtime with PyQT4.7 However, this being my first python program I'm not sure how to get the functionality I want. I would like to be able to substitute a text string for an attribute name: i.e. for each in xrange(4): myname = "tab1_button%s" % each #tab1_button0, tab1_button1, tab1_button2 #self.ui.tab1_button0 = QtGui.QPushButton(self.ui.tab) <--normal code to create a named button setattr(self.ui,myname,QtGui.QPushButton(self.ui.tab)) #rewrite of line above to dynamicly generate a button #here's where I get stuck. this code isn't valid, but it shows what i want to do self.ui.gridLayout.addWidget(self.ui.%s) % myname #I need to have %s be tab1_button1, tab1_button2, etc. I know the % is for string substituion but how can I substitute the dynamically generated attribute name into that statement? I assume there's a basica language construct I'm missing that allows this. Since it's my first program, please take it easy on me ;)

  • Python: Getting the attribute name that the created object will be given

    Before I ask this, do note: I want this for debugging purposes. I know that this is going to be some bad black magic, but I want to use it just during debugging so I could identify my objects more easily. It's like this. I have some object from class A that creates a few B instances as attributes: class A(object): def __init__(self) self.vanilla_b = B() self.chocolate_b = B() class B(object): def __init__(self): # ... What I want is that in B.__init__, it will figure out the "vanilla_b" or whatever attribute name it was given, and then put that as the .name attribute to this specific B. Then in debugging when I see some B object floating around, I could know which one it is. Is there any way to do this?

Or, if that is not possible, how can the style attribute be changed during runtime (there is no such thing as button.setStyle(R.style.button)).

    Hello, I have well-formed xml documents into string variables. I want to use preg_replace to add a defined attribute to every xml tags. For example replace: <tag1> <tag2> some text </tag2> </tag1> by: <tag1 attr="myAttr"> <tag2 attr="myAttr"> some text </tag2> </tag1> So I basically need the regex expression to find any start tags and add my attribute, but I'm a complete regex noob.     Hi, I need to filter a XPath expression to grab only a certain attribute as not empty. I tried this: <xsl:template match="DocumentElement/QueryResults[string(@FileName)]"> and this: <xsl:template match="DocumentElement/QueryResults[string-length(@FileName)>0]"> but it did not work. I need the same kind of data returning from the folloing XPath expression... <xsl:template match="DocumentElement/QueryResults"> ... but filtered to avoid items with empty attribute @FileName.     I'm writing code where I retrieve XML from a web api, then parse that XML using Groovy. Unfortunately, it seems that both XmlParser and XmlSlurper for Groovy strip newline characters from the attributes of nodes when .text() is called. How can I get at the text of the attribute including the newlines?     There are two obvious ways in C to provide outside access to internal attribute values (A) provide a generic interface that accepts a list of attributes that changes over time (some added / some die) or (B) a specific interface for each and every attribute. Example A: int x_get_attribute_value(ATT att) { if (a) return a_val; if (b) return b_val; } Example B: A_Enum x_get_a_type_attribute() {} B_Enum x_get_b_type_attribute() {} I recall that Eclipse's API is very much like A (I could be wrong). What I can't do is come up with a compelling argument against either. A is clean - any user will no where to go to find out a property value. It can evolve cleanly without leaving dead interfaces around. B has type checking to a degree - this is C enums! Is there a big hitter argument that pushes the balance away from opinion?

    Having a major brain freeze, I have the following chunk of code: // Get web address $domQuery = query_HtmlDocument($html, '//a[@class="productLink"]'); foreach($domQuery as $rtn) { $web = $rtn->getAttribute('href'); } Which obviously gets the entire href attribute, however I only want 1 specific attribute within the href. I.e. If the href is: /website/product1234.do?code=1234&version=1.3&somethingelse=blaah I only want to return the variable for "version", so wish to only return "1.3" in my example. What's most efficient way to do this?

    Hello! I have a localized application, and I am wondering if it is possible to have the DisplayName for a certain model property set from a Resource. I'd like to do something like this: public class MyModel { [Required] [DisplayName(Resources.Resources.labelForName)] public string name{ get; set; } } But I can't to it, as the compiler says: "An attribute argument must be a constant expression, typeof expression or array creation expression of an attribute parameter type" :( Are there any workarounds? I am outputting labels manually, but I need these for the validator output!

    I've created a combo box control with a edittext and spinner. I'm trying to let the android:prompt attribute be passed onto the spinner, which means I need to catch it in the constructor which passes my the AttributeSet and set it on the spinner. I can't figure out how to get the value of the prompt. I'm trying, int[] ra = { android.R.attr.prompt }; TypedArray ta = context.getTheme().obtainStyledAttributes(ra); int id = ta.getResourceId(0, 0); I get back 0, which means it didn't find the attribute. I also did a ta.count() which returned 0. So I'm not getting anything back. My XML simply defines an android:prompt value. Thanks

  • Drupal - Use lightbox with Views (Rel attribute) - in output link

    In Drupal I have two image fields, one to act as a thumbnail and the other the image that will open when the thumbnail is clicked. The only way I could find to link the two was to use the option for "Output this field as a link" and link to the image field. This works, so when I click the thumbnail it opens the larger image however I would like to use lightbox2 for this task but in the "Output this field as a link" options there is no way to set the "rel" attribute. Is there a way to either set the rel attribute or invoke the lightbox by setting a class?

    I have a class called object which has an element called 'level'. I want to get a list of all the different values of level on the page so I can select the highest one. If I do something like: $(".object").attr("level") will that get me a list of values that are the values of the level attribute? I suspect not, but then how do you do something like that. Note: I don't want to select an HTML object for manipulation as is more common, rather I want to select values of the attribute.

    I'm working on an MVC application. I've decorated a property with EqualTo found here: http://dataannotationsextensions.org/EqualTo/Create As well as a custom RequiredIf attribute as suggested here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/simonince/archive/2011/02/04/conditional-validation-in-asp-net-mvc-3.aspx My issue is that even when the field is supposed to be required and isn't the EqualTo logic is firing. So I get error messages saying the field is required but also that the field doesn't match. If I replace the Requiredif with a regular Required only the Required message will show. What I'm trying to figure out is how the EqualTo logic is prevented when combined with the Required attribute but not prevented when combined with my custom RequiredIf. Any suggestions would be most appreciated, I've been racking my brain most of the day trying to figure out the mvc internals around Required.

I tried many ways, by modifying the urltemplate, method name and method type etc. but nothing is working out. But if I use the [WebGet] attribute the the service method is working fine.     in some tutorials they tell you to set up an attribute like this: $manager = Doctrine_Manager::getInstance(); Doctrine_Manager::getInstance()->setAttribute( Doctrine::ATTR_AUTO_ACCESSOR_OVERRIDE, true); and in the documentation it shows you this: $manager = Doctrine_Manager::getInstance(); $manager->setAttribute( Doctrine::ATTR_AUTO_ACCESSOR_OVERRIDE, true); i wonder which one i should use? isn't it the latter one? cause how can you set an attribute to a singleton class in the first one? isn't the second one more correct?
