• Manage DNS Zone in "slave" Mode with MS Windows 2008 R2

  Hello @all following issue, I configure a DNS Zone "location.domain.tld" for my internal Network and it works well, but now I want to manage the domain.tld for my internal Network, but the domain.tld is managed by an external DNS Provider. In location.domain.tld there are all Clients and Servers for internal use only (with local IPs) all these clients resolve the global Mailserver (for example) over his external Address but now i want to catch single Domainnames and resolve it on my own way. But i did not find a way to solve this issue. Any Ideas? Regards Rene

  I might be missing something but how do you manage Java projects in eclipse that need a lot of Jar files. I know maven manages libraries well if there are new updates but maybe I'm missing something, is there a way that eclipse can update new jar files (it would be especially useful for projects using apache-commons, say). I don't want to sound like asking for a feature request, but I'm looking at if there are ways to keep libraries jar files that a Java project uses to keep them updated automatically the way maven does. With more languages coming with this type of features, finding the right Jar files probably should be easier than this.

  I have a severe problem with my database connection in my web application. Since I use a single database connection for the whole application from singleton Database class, if i try concurrent db operations (two users) the database rollsback the transactions.   Just wondering how you all manage your workload effectively when there's a lot of your plate? What do you do to break it down into bite-size chunks and how do you track progress of each task? Do you find TDD helps to focus your attention of getting areas of functionality complete before moving onto the next one? I quite often find myself getting a bit overwhelmed when I have an involving task on the go (even if it can be broken down into lots of small chunks), even though I know I'm more than capable of doing the work. We have a kind of agile approach Interested to hear how everyone manages things effectively.

• manage.py runserver not working

  I am new to django and python in general, so pardon me for any simple mistakes I may be doing. I am trying to setup my first django project on my local windows vista machine. I have created the project successfully with no problems. The issue I am coming across is when my settings.py has values for my database keys, the manage.py runserver command is failing. If I have values in settings before I run the command, as soon as I run it I get errors. If I have already run the command and the server is running, as soon as I edit the settings file with values, the errors show up in my still open command prompt. The inner most exception seems to "Error loading MySQLdb module: No module named MYSQLdb". If I leave the settings.py blank, the command executes with no problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  HI, I am using ant build script to build my java app and utilizing Ivy to manage its dependency. As my application is dependent/subset of other application(Main App), when running it, I set the classpath to point to lib jars of the Main App. As I tried to build the kit using ant and ivy, it includes/retrieve all the jars that is required as specified in ivy.xml The problem is, some of the jar files are duplicated with with jars file in the main app folders. Is there a way to set the classpath in build.xml to ignore retrieving jar files that already exist in the main app's lib folder. Thanks

  I follow the direction in here How to configure SQL Server to manage ASP.NET sessions to create ASPState db. I have 2 web application in IIS 7. In IIS web application setting, i go to "Session State" and set session state as "SQL Server" and provide connection string. In each web application web.config, i add <sessionState mode="SQLServer" allowCustomSqlDatabase="false" sqlConnectionString="data source=server;user id=user;password=password" cookieless="false" timeout="7200" /> I create a session , Session["Data"] = "test" in Web App A and go to Web App B in the same browser to print it Response.Write(Session["Data"]); It shows NOTHING. I can see there are data in table : ASPStateTempApplications and ASPStateTempSessions under ASPState Database. Also, i dont see any error in event log. Can anyone think anything i may do wrong? Party inherited by Organization and Person Organization inherited by Customer, Vendor Person inherited by Contact In the database I have the following tables Party, Customer, Vendor, Contact. All of them have a corresponding row in Party table. Contact belongs to either Vendor or Customer. I have a field on the Contact table for org_party_id. However, since the organization can be either a Customer or Vendor I need to be able to look at different tables. Is there a way to map this in hibernate? Or, a better way to manage it in DB/ hibernate?

  Hi, I have server with django on it, this server runs some manage.py commands and update database. Now I need to move some of this tasks to different servers. I don't want to allow remote db access and need some tool\lib to be able to start task on remote servers by main server's command and update tasks code/add new tasks. I have ssh access to every server, all servers run under debian and all code in python. I was thiking about creating my own xmpp based solution(server sends messages to slave servers with commands to execute, like "update task", "run task"), or maybe some low-level ssh based solution where main server logs to slave servers and executes bash commands. But I would be happy to hear any advices.

Also, both effective and expiry date can be set to some valid dates. Are there any frameworks that manage objects such that the objects are consistent,i.e there are no overlaps of the validity periods ? • How to properly manage a complex DB structure?

  Let's say you have several systems using the same DB - each uses several schemes (sometimes same as the other). This structure of these schemes is somewhat very big and complicated. Now, how could you possibly manage such scheme structure? Obviously using some sort of "configuration" - the simplest would be SQL scripts, but a more reasonable solution would be XMLs which can be easily converted into SQL, or some other readable solution (for example, JPA's XMLs or Annotations). This solution though, causes a problem where you can't really tell if your configuration matches the structure of the DB schemes exactly. You can't say if those two are synchronized. Why wouldn't they? Well, in such big structure there are going to be many changes, and you won't always remember to save/commit your configuration after you've altered the schemes, or maybe you did save/commit it, but eventually didn't altered anything in the schemes and forgot to undo the changes to the configuration. More than that, another problem (not caused by the configuration, but isn't addressed by it either) is versioning. I don't see any good way of managing the DB schemes versions (say our last alteration makes 3 systems crash - not good, how to "rollback"?). And thoughts? thx.

  (iPhone SDK 3.x:) I have a UIControl subclass that creates a different number of subviews depending on the length of an NSArray property. Please take my word for it that this needs to be a UIControl rather than a UIView. Currently I implement subview management in drawRect, beginning by removing all subviews and then creating the appropriate number based on the property. I don't think this is very good memory management and I'm not sure if drawRect is really the appropriate place to add subviews. Any thoughts on the best way to handle this pattern? Thank you.

  We have a lot of VBA code in spreadsheets and a lot of time people save them to local drives. When we want to upgrade the spreadsheets we push a new version out to a shared drive but dont have any way of enforcing that people dont use the old versions of the spreadsheets. Is there some best practice here to deploy vba spreadsheets so if someone loads an old version it wont open or will ask you to upgrade. It seems like this must be an issue for any custom solution so i would have through MS would have some solution here. Does microsoft have a standard versioning / deployment solution for this or do i need to come up with some home grown solution (spreadsheet pings a database on startup to check version)
