  • iPad UIWebView PDF rendering is giving me weird visual artifacts

    - by ashwhite
    I am having some difficulty using a UIWebView to render PDF files on the iPad. Everything works fine in portrait mode, but turning the device to landscape produces strange visual quirkiness. Zooming in (but not out) even the slightest will correct it, but obviously that's not an ideal workaround. The issue occurs with any PDF file (I have tried several, all stored locally in the bundle, not retrieved from the web). I also created a clone of the project for iPhone, which seems to work just fine, so the problem is iPad-specific. The problem occurs both in the simulator as well as on a physical iPad. Screenshot http://dev.boxkite.net/images/ipad/ipad-pdf.png Code NSString* filePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"test" ofType:@"pdf"]; NSData* data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:filePath]; [self.webView loadData:data MIMEType:@"application/pdf" textEncodingName:@"UTF-8" baseURL:nil]; Thanks so much for your time.

  • Autorotate works for iOS 6 but gives weird behavior in iOS 5

    - by Jeanne
    I seem to be having the opposite problem from this post: Autorotate in iOS 6 has strange behaviour When I submitted my paid app to Apple, XCode made me update to iOS 6 on my test devices. I used the GUI in XCode to set my app to display only in portrait mode on the iPhone and only in landscape mode on the iPad. This works great on my iOS 6 iPhone and iPad. In iOS 5, however, the iPad is allowing the app to rotate to portrait, displaying my buttons in a letterbox-like black area that shouldn't be there, and crashing repeatedly. I am using a Navigation Controller and storyboards. I know shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation is deprecated in iOS 6, but figuring it should still be called in iOS 5, I tried this: - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { if (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() == UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad) { if ((UIDeviceOrientationIsLandscape(UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft))||(UIDeviceOrientationIsLandscape(UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeRight))) { return YES; } else return NO; } else { if ((UIDeviceOrientationIsLandscape(UIDeviceOrientationPortrait))||(UIDeviceOrientationIsLandscape(UIDeviceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown))) { return YES; } else return NO; } // Return YES for supported orientations } The above code seems to have done nothing. I am putting it in each of my view controllers; it seems I should really be putting it in my navigation controller, but because I set that up graphically, I'm not sure how to do that. Do I have to subclass my navigation controller and do everything in code? There must be a way to use the storyboard settings for this! (Note: I am not using AutoLayout and apparently can't because of some older components I am including my software that just plain don't like it.) What might be causing this? I'd like to fix it before too many people buy the app and complain! Thanks in advance...

  • Weird - "The EntityReference object could not be serialized" when serializing from an ASP.NET Web Si

    - by Mikey Cee
    I have an Entity Framework data model. Part of the model is a Customer entity. The web service provides a method to get a customer, and to receive an updated version of this customer to be persisted. To test this, I created a new ASP.NET web Application, (Solution Add New Project ASP.NET Web Application), then added a reference to my service reference using the standard Add Service Reference dialog. I then call the service using the following code: var client = new CustomerServiceClient(); var customer = client.GetCustomerByID(18); // get it customer.LimitDown = 100; // change it client.SaveCustomer(customer); // persist it Everything works as expected. Now, I do exactly the same thing, but this time with as ASP.NET Web Site (Solution Add New Web Site ASP.NET Web Site). I add the reference in a similar fashion and copy and paste the code above into the new site. But now I get the following exception thrown on the 4th line: System.InvalidOperationException The EntityReference object could not be serialized. This type of object cannot be serialized when the RelationshipManager belongs to an entity object that does not implement IEntityWithRelationships. Source Error: Line 2474: Line 2475: public SkyWalkerCustomerService.OperationResult SaveCustomer(SkyWalkerCustomerService.Customer customer) { Line 2476: return base.Channel.SaveCustomer(customer); Line 2477: } Line 2478: } Stack Trace: System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.HandleReturnMessage(IMessage reqMsg, IMessage retMsg) +9475203 System.Runtime.Remoting.Proxies.RealProxy.PrivateInvoke(MessageData& msgData, Int32 type) +345 SkyWalkerCustomerService.ICustomerService.SaveCustomer(Customer customer) +0 SkyWalkerCustomerService.CustomerServiceClient.SaveCustomer(Customer customer) in c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30128\Temporary ASP.NET Files\testsite2\dd2bcf8d\f95604ff\App_WebReferences.fz4h7x7l.0.cs:2476 _Default.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in c:\Users\Mike\Documents\Repositories\UWC\SkyWalker\TestSite2\Default.aspx.cs:17 System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) +14 System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) +35 System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +91 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +61 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1966 Googling for this error returns very little. • Weird "406 not acceptable" error

    - by Horace Loeb
    When I try to hit this action via Javascript, I get a 406 Not Acceptable error: def show @annotation = Annotation.find_by_id(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html { if @annotation.blank? redirect_to root_path else redirect_to inline_annotation_path(@annotation) end } format.js { if params[:format] == "raw" render :text => @annotation.body.to_s else render :text => @annotation.body.to_html end } end end This is from jQuery, but I'm doing the right beforeSend stuff: $.ajaxSetup({ beforeSend: function(xhr) { xhr.setRequestHeader("Accept", "text/javascript"); }, cache: false }); Here are my request headers: Host localhost:3000 User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 Accept text/javascript Accept-Language en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding gzip,deflate Accept-Charset ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive 300 Connection keep-alive X-Requested-With XMLHttpRequest Content-Type application/x-www-form-urlencoded

  • CSS positioning is weird when reducing the viewport

    - by Lars Hanke
    I have a little meditation for you ... I run a site using a liquid tri-col layout with a header. The layout runs nicely since more than a decade with all browsers I ever dared to try. It is based on absolute positioning in CSS. This page provides an example of the actual site. Watching the page from my tablet I found that the right column overlaps the center matter. Further investigation using Firebug showed that once the center content reaches 360px width, the right margin of the div shrinks. Why is that? Since Firefox and Android render the same, I guess that this is something, which is actually supposed to be. However, I tried to make virtue out of necessity and experimented setting min-width for body and content and made the body scroll overflow. The body actually scrolls, but the right column is positioned on the right edge of the viewport instead of the body element (Firefox). Is this intentional CSS standard? Any ideas how to solve the presentation on small displays? Thanks for your efforts,  – lars.

  • dividing double by double gives weird results - Java

    - by Aly
    Hi, I am trying to do the following 33.33333333333333/100.0 to get 0.333333333333333 however when I run System.out.println(33.33333333333333/100.0); I get 0.33333333333333326 as the output, similarly when I run System.out.println(33.33333333333333/1000.0); I get 0.033333333333333326 as the output. Does anyone know why, and how I can get the correct value (without loss of decimal places). Thanks

  • WPF UserControl weird binding problem

    - by Heko
    Hello! Im usign a Ribbon Window and in the "content area beneath" I have a grid in which I will be displaying UserControls. To demonstrate my problem lets take a look at this simple UserControl: <ListView x:Name="lvPersonList"> <ListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Width="120" Header="Name" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Name}"/> <GridViewColumn Width="120" Header="Height" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Height}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView> And the code: public partial class MyUserControl: UserControl { private List<Person> personList; public TestSnpList() { InitializeComponent(); this.personList = new List<Person>(); this.personList.Add(new Person { Name = "Chuck Norris", Height = 210 }); this.personList.Add(new Person { Name = "John Rambo", Height = 200 }); this.lvPersonList.ItemsSource = personList; } } public class Person { public string Name { get; set; } public int Height { get; set; } } The parent Window: <Grid x:Name="grdContent" DockPanel.Dock="Top"> <controls:MyUserControl x:Name="myUserControl" Visibility="Visible"/> </Grid> I don't understant why this binding doesn't work. Instead of values (Name and Height) I get full class names. If I use this code in a Window it works fine. Any ideas? I would like this user contorl works for itself (it gets the data form the DB and represents it in a ListView)... Thanks!

  • OpenGL FrameBuffer Objects weird behavior

    - by Ben Jones
    My algorithm is this: Render the scene to a FBO with shadow mapping from multiple locations Render the scene to the screen with shadow mapping ...black magic that I still have to imlement... Combine the samples from step 1 with the image from step 2 I'm trying to debug steps 1 and 2 and am coming across STRANGE behavior. My algorithm for each shadow mapped pass is: render the scene to a FBO connected to a depth array texture from the POV of each light render the scene from the viewpoint and use vertex/frag shaders to compare the depths When I run my algorithm this way: render from point to FBO render from point to screen glutSwapBuffers() The normal vectors in the screen pass appear to be incorrect (inverted possibly). I'm pretty sure that's the issue because my diffuse lighting calculation is incorrect, but the material colors are correct, and the shadows appear in the correct places. So, it seems like the only thing that could be the culprit is the normals. However if I do render from point to FBO render from point to Screen glutSwapBuffers() //wrong here render from point to Screen glutSwapBuffers() the second pass is correct. • AjaxControlToolkit TabContainer with weird rendering behavior

    - by sohum
    I've built a web application that contains a page that uses the AjaxControlToolkit's TabContainer/TabPanel objects. I've developed a custom stylesheet, as well. I'm developing using Visual Studio 2010. The following is the behavior of my application: VS2010 Development Server (localhost:XXXXX): Works as expected with the custom stylesheet. Local IIS: The TabContainer rendered but the stylesheet wasn't applied. I fixed this by doing a CTRL+F5. It seems that IIS caches stylesheets pretty aggressively. Remote Server: The TabContainer and TabPanel are completely hidden. Looking at the HTML, all of them have their visibility set to hidden. The way I got my files onto my remote server were as follows (I haven't yet set up WebDAV or remote publishing because the server is a Windows 7 box and as far as I am aware does not support FrontPage Extensions): The entire solution is under source code control (SVN). Checked in all pending changes (including projects, aspx files, css, AjaxControlToolkit binaries) Synced on the server. Rebuilt everything on server. Deployed to local IIS on server (which is externally accessible). Both on the local IIS on the server and the development server on the server, the TabContainers are completely hidden. Looking at the SVN status on the server project, only the "AjaxControlToolkit.dll" is under source-code control. All the locale-specific DLLs are not on the server. Could this be a potential issue? I'm not sure what's going on and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

  • weird result with c# winForms array of Lists

    - by jello
    so I'm trying to store values in an array of Lists in C# winForms. In the for loop in which I make the sql statment, everything works fine: the message box outputs a different medication name each time. for (int i = 0; i < numberOfMeds; i++) { queryStr = "select * from biological where medication_name = '" + med_names[i] + "' and patient_id = " + patientID.patient_id; using (var conn = new SqlConnection(connStr)) using (var cmd = new SqlCommand(queryStr, conn)) { conn.Open(); using (SqlDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader()) { while (rdr.Read()) { medObject.medication_date = (DateTime)rdr["patient_history_date_bio"]; medObject.medication_name = rdr["medication_name"].ToString(); medObject.medication_dose = Convert.ToInt32(rdr["medication_dose"]); medsList[i].Add(medObject); } } conn.Close(); MedicationTimelineClass medObjectx = medsList[i][0] as MedicationTimelineClass; MessageBox.Show(medObjectx.medication_name); } } but then, when I take the message box code out of the loop, meaning that the array of Lists is supposed to be populated, I always get the same value: the last value entered. the same medication name, no matter what number I put between those brackets. It's like if the whole array of Lists is populated with the same data. for (int i = 0; i < numberOfMeds; i++) { queryStr = "select * from biological where medication_name = '" + med_names[i] + "' and patient_id = " + patientID.patient_id; using (var conn = new SqlConnection(connStr)) using (var cmd = new SqlCommand(queryStr, conn)) { conn.Open(); using (SqlDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader()) { while (rdr.Read()) { medObject.medication_date = (DateTime)rdr["patient_history_date_bio"]; medObject.medication_name = rdr["medication_name"].ToString(); medObject.medication_dose = Convert.ToInt32(rdr["medication_dose"]); medsList[i].Add(medObject); } } conn.Close(); } } MedicationTimelineClass medObjectx = medsList[0][0] as MedicationTimelineClass; MessageBox.Show(medObjectx.medication_name); what's going on here?

  • Weird Excel Formatting

    - by Gage
    Recently a new co-op was hired at our company and has been tasked to run a report. The report queries the database and returns a resultset and from there procedes to create the spreadsheets. Depending on the number of days selected a different number of reports are generated but I do not believe that is relavent to the question. Basically it runs the reports and loops through the resultset but at some point continues to loop through until tow 65536 at which it stops. For Example if the resultset contained 74 records then the first 74 rows would appear normally (formatted yellow) while everything after that would also be formatted yellow although it should be left alone. I am inheriting this code as I to am a new co-op. Apparently this only happens when a "change of guards" happens (New co-op has to run the report).` DoCmd.SetWarnings False DoCmd.OpenQuery ("DailySummaryQueryMain") strSQL = "SELECT * FROM DailySummaryMain" Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(strSQL) DoCmd.Echo True, "Running first Report" If Not rs.EOF Then rs.MoveFirst Do While Not rs.EOF And Not rs.BOF xlapp.Range("A" & i).Value = rs.Fields(0).Value xlapp.Range("B" & i).Value = rs.Fields(1).Value xlapp.Range("C" & i).Value = rs.Fields(2).Value Set rs2 = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("SELECT dbo_StatusType.StatusTypeID, dbo_StatusType.Name FROM dbo_StatusType WHERE (((dbo_StatusType.StatusTypeID)=" & rs.Fields(3) & "))") rs2.MoveFirst xlapp.Range("D" & i).Value = rs2.Fields(1).Value xlapp.Range("E" & i).Value = rs.Fields(4).Value xlapp.Range("F" & i).Value = rs.Fields(5).Value xlapp.Range("G" & i).Value = rs.Fields(6).Value 'count number of outages that start and end on same day If Format(xlapp.Range("F" & i).Value, "mm/dd/yyyy") = Format(xlapp.Range("G" & i).Value, "mm/dd/yyyy") Then dayCount = dayCount + 1 End If xlapp.Range("H" & i).Value = rs.Fields(7).Value xlapp.Range("I" & i).Value = rs.Fields(8).Value xlapp.Range("J" & i).Value = rs.Fields(9).Value xlapp.Range("K" & i).Value = rs.Fields(10).Value xlapp.Range("L" & i).Value = rs.Fields(11).Value xlapp.Range("M" & i).Value = rs.Fields(12).Value xlapp.Range("N" & i).Value = rs.Fields(13).Value 'highlite recently modified rows If rs.Fields(14).Value = "Yes" Then xlapp.Range("A" & i & ":N" & i).Select With xlapp.Selection.Interior .ColorIndex = 36 .Pattern = xlSolid End With End If 'break apart by sector If CInt(rs.Fields(2).Value) = 1 Then row = row1 ElseIf CInt(rs.Fields(2).Value) = 2 Then row = row2 ElseIf CInt(rs.Fields(2).Value) = 3 Then row = row3 Else row = row4 End If xlapp.Worksheets(CInt(rs.Fields(2).Value) + 1).Activate xlapp.Range("A" & row).Value = rs.Fields(0).Value xlapp.Range("B" & row).Value = rs.Fields(1).Value xlapp.Range("C" & row).Value = rs.Fields(13).Value xlapp.Range("D" & row).Value = rs.Fields(4).Value xlapp.Range("E" & row).Value = rs.Fields(5).Value xlapp.Range("F" & row).Value = rs.Fields(6).Value xlapp.Range("G" & row).Value = rs.Fields(7).Value xlapp.Range("H" & row).Value = rs.Fields(8).Value xlapp.Range("I" & row).Value = rs.Fields(9).Value xlapp.Range("J" & row).Value = rs.Fields(10).Value xlapp.Range("K" & row).Value = "" xlapp.Range("L" & row).Value = rs.Fields(11).Value xlapp.Range("M" & row).Value = rs.Fields(13).Value If CInt(rs.Fields(2).Value) = 1 Then row1 = row1 + 1 ElseIf CInt(rs.Fields(2).Value) = 2 Then row2 = row2 + 1 ElseIf CInt(rs.Fields(2).Value) = 3 Then row3 = row3 + 1 Else row4 = row4 + 1 End If 'activate main summary sheet for next outage xlapp.Worksheets(1).Activate i = i + 1 rs.MoveNext Loop` Also I should note that this is all happening within an access database which has its tables linked from SQL. The query is extremely slow to run from which I believe is the use of views but thats neither here nor there. All you have to know is attempting to debug takes an enormous amount of time due to having to wait for the recordset to return. My guess is that its not checking to see if the resultset is empty correctly. Is there a way I could check to see if theres a value is rs.Fields(0) and base it off that maybe? That is the ID column and there should always be a value. I am wondering why rs.EOF isn't catching this though.

  • Weird behavior of substitution in Mathematica.

    - by Ilya
    My question is: why doesn't the following work, and how do I fix it? Plot[f[t], {t, 0, 2*Pi}] /. {{f -> Sin}, {f -> Cos}} The result is two blank graphs. By comparison, DummyFunction[f[t], {t, 0, 2*Pi}] /. {{f -> Sin}, {f -> Cos}} gives {DummyFunction[Sin[t], {t, 0, 2 *Pi}], DummyFunction[Cos[t], {t, 0, 2 * Pi}]} as desired. This is a simplified version of what I was actually doing. I was very annoyed that, even after figuring out the annoying "right way" of putting the curly brackets nothing works. In the end, I did the following, which works: p[f_] := Plot[f[t], {t, 0, 2*Pi}] p[Sin] p[Cos]

  • MVC ASP.NET, ObjectContext and Ajax. Weird Behaviour

    - by fabianadipolo
    Hi, i've been creating a web application in mvc asp.net. I have three different project/solutions. One solution contains the model in EF (DAL) and all the methods to add, update, delete and query the objects in the model, the objectcontext is managed here in a per request basis. Other solution contains a content management system in wich authorized users insert, delete, update and access objects through the DAL mentioned before. And the last solution contains the web page that is accessed by all users and where the only operations executed are selects, no update, inserts or deletes here. All the selects are executed against the DAL mentioned before (the first solution). The problem here is that i'm not sure whether an HttpContext lifespan ObjectContext is the best solution. I have a lot of ajax calls in my web app and i'm not sure if an httpcontext could interfere with the performance of the application. I've been noticed that in some cases, specially when someone is working in the content manager inserting, updating or deleting, when you try to click on any link of the user web application (the web app that is accessed by any user - the third one that i mentioned before) the web page freezes and it remains stucked transferring data. In order to stop that behaviour you have to stop and refresh or click several times on the link. Excuse me for my bad english. I hope you could understand and could help me to solve this issue. Thanx in advance.

  • What is weird about wrapping setjmp and longjmp?

    - by Max
    Hello. I am using setjmp and longjmp for the first time, and I ran across an issue that comes about when I wrap setjmp and longjmp. I boiled the code down to the following example: #include <stdio.h> #include <setjmp.h> jmp_buf jb; int mywrap_save() { int i = setjmp(jb); return i; } int mywrap_call() { longjmp(jb, 1); printf("this shouldn't appear\n"); } void example_wrap() { if (mywrap_save() == 0){ printf("wrap: try block\n"); mywrap_call(); } else { printf("wrap: catch block\n"); } } void example_non_wrap() { if (setjmp(jb) == 0){ printf("non_wrap: try block\n"); longjmp(jb, 1); } else { printf("non_wrap: catch block\n"); } } int main() { example_wrap(); example_non_wrap(); } Initially I thought example_wrap() and example_non_wrap() would behave the same. However, the result of running the program (GCC 4.4, Linux): wrap: try block non_wrap: try block non_wrap: catch block If I trace the program in gdb, I see that even though mywrap_save() returns 1, the else branch after returning is oddly ignored. Can anyone explain what is going on?

  • Perl Lingua giving weird error on install

    - by user299306
    I am trying to install perl Lingua onto a unix system (ubuntu, latest version). Of course I am root. when I go into the package to install using 'perl Makefile.pl' I get this dumb error: [root@csisl27 Lingua-Lid-0.01]# perl Makefile.PL /opt/ls//lib does not exist at Makefile.PL line 48. I have tried playing with the path on line 48, nothing changes, here is what line 48-50 looks like: Line 48: die "$BASE/lib does not exist" unless -d "$BASE/lib"; Line 49: die "$BASE/include does not exist" unless -d "$BASE/include"; Line 50: die "lid.h is missing in $BASE/include" unless -e "$BASE/includ/lid.h"; The variable $BASE is declared as this: $BASE = "/opt/ls/" if ($^O eq "linux" or $^O eq "solaris"); $BASE = "/usr/local/" if ($^O eq "freebsd"); $BASE = $ENV{LID_BASE_DIR} if (defined $ENV{LID_BASE_DIR}); Now the perl program I am trying to write simply look like this (just my base): #!/usr/bin/perl use Lingua::LinkParser; use strict; print "Hello world!\n"; When I run this trying to use Lingua, here is my error: [root@csisl27 assign4]# ./perl_parser_1.pl Can't locate Lingua/LinkParser.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at ./perl_parser_1.pl line 3. • gcc precompiled headers weird behaviour with -c option

    - by pachanga
    Folks, I'm using gcc-4.4.1 on Linux and before trying precompiled headers in a really large project I decided to test them on simple program. They "kinda work" but I'm not happy with results and I'm sure there is something wrong about my setup. First of all, I wrote a simple program(main.cpp) to test if they work at all: #include <boost/bind.hpp> #include <boost/function.hpp> #include <boost/type_traits.hpp> int main() { return 0; } Then I created the precompiled headers file pre.h(in the same directory) as follows: #include <boost/bind.hpp> #include <boost/function.hpp> #include <boost/type_traits.hpp> ...and compiled it: $ g++ -I. pre.h (pre.h.gch was created) After that I measured compile time with and without precompiled headers: with pch $ time g++ -I. -include pre.h main.cpp real 0m0.128s user 0m0.088s sys 0m0.048s without pch $ time g++ -I. main.cpp real 0m0.838s user 0m0.784s sys 0m0.056s So far so good! Almost 7 times faster, that's impressive! Now let's try something more realistic. All my sources are built with -c option and for some reason I can't make pch play nicely with it. You can reproduce this with the following steps below... I created the test module foo.cpp as follows: #include <boost/bind.hpp> #include <boost/function.hpp> #include <boost/type_traits.hpp> int whatever() { return 0; } Here are the timings of my attempts to build the module foo.cpp with and without pch: with pch $ time g++ -I. -include pre.h -c foo.cpp real 0m0.357s user 0m0.348s sys 0m0.012s without pch $ time g++ -I. -c foo.cpp real 0m0.330s user 0m0.292s sys 0m0.044s That's quite strange, looks like there is no speed up at all!(I ran timings for several times). It turned out precompiled headers were not used at all in this case, I checked it with -H option(output of "g++ -I. -include pre.h -c foo.cpp -H" didn't list pre.h.gch at all). What am I doing wrong?

  • Weird problems with ruby servers on Ubuntu 9.10

    - by brianthecoder
    So I'm using Ubuntu 9.10, trying to setup and deploy my app, but for some reason, whenever I try and boot up thin, it tells me it can't find rails, script/console, however, works fine. Heck, even script/server works fine as long as I don't try and daemonize it, then it just fails without any errors. Any ideas on what the hell is going on? I'm using rvm with the default ubuntu ruby as my system ruby. I have set REE as the default ruby though. This was still happening back when I had only REE installed via their installer script too.
