  • QGrid display default "loading" message when updating a table / on custom update

    I have a case where I need to update a jqgrid based on some search criteria which the user selects. I can get the data to update , but I would want the loading message to show while the new data is being fetched. Can someone please let me know how to get that working ?   • Problem updating blog with hibernate?

    hi, i am having problem updating a blob with hibernate. my model have these getters/setters for hibernate, i.e. internally i deal with byte[] so any getter/setter convert the byte[] to blog. I can create an initial object without problem, but if I try to change the content of the blob, the database column is not updated.   • Updating join fields in an ORM command

    I have a question about object relational updates on join fields. I am working on a project using codeigniter with datamapper dmz. But I think my problem is with general understanding of ORMs. So fell free to answer with any ORM you know. I have two tables, Goods and Tags. One good can have many tags. Everything is working, but I am looking for a way to merge tags. Meaning I decide I want to remove tag A and instead have everything that is tagged by it, now be tagged by tag B. I only have models for the goods and the tags. There is no separate model for the join relationship, as I believe these ORMs were designed to work. I know how to delete a tag. But I dont know how to reach into the join table to redirect the references since there is no model for the join table. I would rather use the ORM then issuing a raw SQL command.

    I'm writing an updater program in Delphi7 which will be run once, but needs many files to run. What I'd like the achieve: 1, User runs exe 2, Exe unpacks files, runs updater 3, If updater detects and error, prompts the user to send log in e-mail 4, After the updater is run, temporary files are deleted (some of these files are dlls used by the updater program, so the updater has to be closed before the files can be deleted) Can anyone recommend a good solution? I've thought about using Inno Setup (too complicated for such an easy task) or using a self-extracting zip file (but how to delete the files afterwards)? Thanks!

    Hi I have a SSIS package that copies data from table A to table B and sets a flag in table A so that the same data is not copied subsequently. This works great by using the following as the SQL command text on the ADO Net Source object: update transfer set ProcessDateTimeStamp = GetDate(), LastUpdatedBy = 'legacy processed' output inserted.* where LastUpdatedBy = 'legacy' and ProcessDateTimeStamp is not null The problem I have is that I need to run a similar data copy but from two sources table, joined on a primary / foreign key - select from table A join table B update flag in table A. I don't think I can use the technique above because I don't know where I'd put the join! Is there another way around this problem? Thanks Rob.

    hello! i have a store model, this will handle my leaflet and my shoppingcart for my shop. now i d´like to show all items added from an user to his leaflet in the index of store. in the store an user can change the quantity of the choosen items. and now i want to save that the changes of the different quantities in the database with one click on a button "update store". so how could i implement an update over the whole index with one click? i´d like to do this with ajax and most dynamically. somebody has an idea? i render all items into a form so far, but now i have the problem, when i submit this form only the last quantity and item id are included in the params. further i pushed every quantity into an array and i want to submit this also as a param. but i could not. please give me some tips, will be very fine :) mattherick

    Hi, i recently downloaded some maven artifacts directly to my local repository (.m2/repository). Now i installed the Nexus Repository Manager and need to fill its storage without to download all the artifacts again. Is there a way to update the Nexus repository with the local one. I don't want to simply copy them because Nexus separate artifacts concerning their public servers (central, codehaus, etc.) and the local repository structure doesn't. Update: Meanwhile i copied the the artifacts from the local repository to the Nexus storage (public repository). I can browse to the artifacts via the Nexus webapp, but Maven somehow can't resolve the artifacts from Nexus. Do i need to register them particularly? I re-indexed the public repository and restarted Nexus multiple times - no changes.

  • Increase increment size to match GUID advantage

    Hi, I've been thinking of implementing this system, but can't help but feel there's a catch somewhere. One of the points of using GUID over incrementing int is that, in the future, if you were to merge databases together, you wouldn't have any clashes over the primary key/identifier. However, my approach is to set the increment size to X where X is the number of servers I'll most likely have in the future. Then, on each server, have the seed be an increment over the seed number on the previous server. That way, during merging, there would be no clashes with the primary key. Is this a safe, normal method or have I gone mental :)? Thanks

    I've Lists and Maps in my WebAppContext. Most of the time these are only read by multiple Threads but sometimes there's the need to update or add some data. I'm wondering what's the best way to do this without incurring in a ConcurrentModificationException. I think that using CopyOnWriteArrayList I can achieve what I want in terms of - I do not have to sync on every read operation- I can safety update the list while other threads are reading it. Is this the best solution? What about Maps?

    Hi , Here's the problem I'm facing : trying to do my own application update I download the update apk from a web server on the sd card and then I launch the Package Installer with the downloading path ( while the old application is running) . So far after the package installer starts and the user agrees to install the application I get the following message " MyApp Could not be installed on this phone" and in the logcat then following message is printed : "No package identifier when getting value for resource number 0x00000000" . I could not find a reason for this behaviour , so please if there is something that I'm missing do point it to me !

    I am trying to do something similar to this stackoverflow posting. What I want to do is to read the definition of an activity or service from the SD card. To avoid manifest permission issues, I create a shell version of this activity in the .apk, but try to replace it with an activity of the same name residing on the SD card at run time. Unfortunately, I am able to load the activity class definition from the SD card using DexClassLoader, but the original class definition is the one that is executed. Is there a way to specify that the new class definition replaces the old one, or any suggestions on avoiding the manifest permission issues without actually providing the needed activity in the package?     Hi, I'm trying to use smart pointers such as auto_ptr, shared_ptr. However, I don't know how to use it in this situation. CvMemStorage *storage = cvCreateMemStorage(); ... use the pointer ... cvReleaseMemStorage(&storage); I'm not sure, but I think that the storage variable is just a malloc'ed memory, not a C++ class object. Is there a way to use the smart pointers for the storage variable? Thank you.
