  I just took over the webmaster position in my organization, and I'm trying to set up a development environment separate from the production environment. The two environments are hosted with different companies, both on shared hosting plans. Right now, production is at domain.com and development is at domain2.com What I want is to direct my development team to dev.domain.com More importantly, I don't want the URL to change from dev.domain.com back to domain2.com, but I also be responsive to page changes. For example, if my dev team navigates from dev.domain.com to a page (called "page"), I'd like the URL to show as dev.domain.com/page Is this possible, or am I just dreaming?

  I'm trying to change my google app engine domain (domain.appspot.com) to the domain I bought from 1&1.com (mydomain.com). I went into the google app engine settings and added the domain. After making a Google Apps account, I was asked to verify my domain. The directions say that 1&1 doesn't allow me to create TXT records, so I can't use that method for verification. Their alternative is to upload an HTML file to my server, but I didn't buy hosting with my domain, I just bought the domain. My files are on domain.appspot.com. How can I make mydomain.com point to domain.appspot.com? I've added the ns1.googleghs.com as my nameservers in my 1&1 DNS settings, but I still can't verify my domain with Google Apps.

• nginx 301 redirect to subfolder on primary domain

  sorry for my poor english. i just set up wordpress on my vps, so far its the only item on my site. there for seo reason, i think is better redirect all primary domain to the blog folder. primary domain is example.com wordpress is at example.com/blog what i want is rewrite www.example.com and example.com to example.com/blog. googled got some scripts, and make some change paste into nginx config file. here is: #301 redirect www to non-www server { server_name www.example.com; location = / { rewrite ^/(.*) http://example.com/$1 permanent; } } #301 non-www to subfolder server { server_name example.com; location = / { rewrite ^/(.*) http://example.com/blog$1 permanent; } } it works at some degree, successfully redirect to example.com/blog. the only problem is i get 404 not found error. then i only make nginx redirect www to example.com/blog. ok, this time i can access blog page. i know there is something wrong in the non-www to subfolder script. but do not how to fix it :(

  I downloaded and installed XAMPP, and to keep my projects nicely separated I want to create a VirtualHost for each one based on its future domain name. • Why is it not possible to call RegFree COM and .NET from the VB IDE (VB6 & VBA)?

  Hi I have an example project with works when called from compiled VB6 but not from the IDE or from Excel's VBE. There are 3 DLLs QA.DLL, QB.DLL, QAW.DLL. QA is written in C#.NET, QB and QAW are written in VB6. QAW is a COM wrapper of QA. In the calling code I create an Activation Context and load a manifest file. All works fine from the exe created with VB6, but not in debug mode in VB6 or in Excel's VBA. I have the full example in zip. Any ideas what it is that is different about the IDE call and why it doesn't work? Many Thx -- DM

I have a WordPress site hosted in http://mydomain.com/clientsdomain.com/wordpress I would like to temporarily redirect http://clientsdomain.com/ to the abovementioned URL, maintaining the clientsdomain.com domain in the URL. So for example http://clientsdomain.com/some/page would be pointing to http://mydomain.com/clientsdomain.com/wordpress/some/page Is this even possible with .htaccess? Maybe som configuration or plugin option with WordPress?

  We currently have domain.com/username redirected to domain.com/setsession.asp?u=username which then redirects to the app at domain.com/theapp. This means users always see domain.com/theapp, so browsing to a page shows domain.com/theapp/somepage.asp Looking to move this to subdomains ie username.domain.com (we'll get the host name and work out the user from that). How can this be set up? Should we move the app itself to say theapp.domain.com and then rewrite username.domain.com to theapp.domain.com and everything works? If thats right, how can we do the URL rewrite (mod_rewrite via ISAPI Rewrite for IIS or URL Rewriting for IIS) so that we can still access webmail.domain.com, etc?

Say answer 1 will have 2 marks, ans two will have 3 marks, answer 3 will have 4 marks.. and so on. Eventually all these get added up and the result is shown according to the final tally of marks.   My environment is Ubuntu 12.04, Nginx 1.20, and Torquebox 2.0.3 which is actually JBoss AS 7. I have two app deployed on Torquebox, it listens to 8080 and have different hostnames, app1.mydomain.com and app2.mydomain.com. I added 127.0.0.1 app1.mydomain.com and 127.0.0.1 app2.mydomain.com in /etc/hosts then I curl app1.mydomain.com:8080 and curl app2.mydomain.com:8080 both have correct return. Then I go to my nginx.   Hi, I have a website let's say www.example.com and I have a subdomain something.example.com Both main domain and sub domain are pointing to directory "public_html" I have .htaccess on root which redirects any URL without www to www. For e.g. if user enters example.com then he will be redirected to www.example.com If user enters example.com/mypage.html then he will be redirected to www.example.com/mypage.html Now the problem is this is also affecting my subdomain. Because if someone enters something.example.com/visit.html then he is redirect to www.example.com/visit.html I don't want this! If user enters subdomain then I don't want to redirected to www domain.   tldr version: Renamed domain from internal.domain.com to domain.com, have 4 SPNs that am unable to remove from DC. So my domain was internal.domain-name.com and I renamed it to domain-name.com and I thought everything was good. Several days later, I start setting up my RD Gateway and am noticing issues surrounding group policy. I run dcdiag and the SystemLog part fails. Starting test: SystemLog A warning event occurred. This event occurs once per boot of the server on the first time a client uses NTLM with this server. An error event occurred. I found four which I remove by: setspn -D E3514235-4B06-11D1-AB04-00C04FC2DCD2/d79fa59c-74ad-4610-a5e6-b71866c7a157/internal.domain-name.com ServerName setspn -D HOST/ServerName.domain-name.com/internal.domain-name.com ServerName setspn -D GC/ServerName.domain-name.com/internal.domain-name.com ServerName setspn -D ldap/ServerName.domain-name.com/internal.domain-name.com ServerName Also, checking my dns records, there's an internal subdomain that I can delete but it comes back as well. I've tried removing the spns to no avail. Is there something I'm missing?

• Can exim be configured to send all emails externally?

  How do I configure exim4 to route all emails via a third-party SMTP server when the sender's domain, recipient's domain, and server hostname all match? I followed this great answer and have exim4 sending emails to addresses at other domains tested and working from an Ubuntu server. My only issue is that emails where both the sender and recipient share the same domain as the server hostname, they never leave the server (and this is the expected behavior). For example, sending from test@example.com -- test@example2.com works fine, but sending from account1@example.com -- account2@example.com just routes the mail locally to /var/mail/account2, without passing through the third-party SMTP server. I'm using Google Apps at my own domain and want to send emails from server@example.com to me@example.com from a machine with the hostname example.com. I want to route them through Google's SMTP server so I see them in my other email clients. Is this possible? Very similar questions (but for postfix) here and here.

  I have a server that hosts mydomain.com. Then I have a server that hosts subdomain1.mydomain.com. On the subdomain1.mydomain.com server, how do I make subdomains? For instance I want to create subdomain2.subdomain1.mydomain.com I have my subdomain1.mydomain.com site in /home/USER/public_html and it is working just fine. But When I try to create subdomain2.subdomain1.mydomain.com, it says Server not found in the browser. I have tried so many configurations in my /etc/hosts and /etc/apache2/sites-available/subdomain2.subdomain1.mydomain.com, without any luck Can I get some detailed instructions maybe?   I have three websites hosted (example1.com, example2.com, example3.com) on a server. There is a page (test.php) on example1.com with just code below inside it: <?php header('Location:http://example2.com/a.php'); ?> When I browse test.php it goes to http://example1.com/a.php . it doesn't understand it is another domain url, it tried to find the page on itself. but when I put http://google.com instead of example2.com/a.php it works correct. I really get confused. What is the problem ? Should I set some configuration on the server? ( I am administrator of the hosting server ). Ps. The server is behind a pound server.   I am reverse proxying one site to another site. It's working nicely, but on some links it displays the original link. When I click on "about-us" it takes me to "http://test.mysite.com/about-us" which is ok When I click on "inquiry" it takes me to "http://mysite.com/inquiry" which is not correct it must be "http://test.mysite.com/inquiry". I think I've missed some thing to add in configuration file but I can't figure it out.

I would like to know if this situation will affect the traffic and ranking of the subdomains ready to go live? Is it preferable to wait and go live with the main domain?   I have two sites: www.example.de www.main.com www.main.com is English version of www.example.de which is in German. I want to keep only www.main.com. For the English version I will keep www.main.com, but for German I want to move it to www.main.com/de. I am wondering what would be best solution for old www.example.de: Redirect everything from www.example.de to www.main.com/de using 301 redirect? Redirect everything from www.example.de towww.main.com/de/page-url-of-old-size.html? So each link actually get own address. Is that necessary or will Google realize where the page belongs on new site even if I redirect everything to home page? Any other solution, maybe just set in Google webmaster tools the new domain or anything like that?

From wikipedia: The biz TLD was created to relieve some of the demand for domain names in the com top-level domain, and to provide an alternative for businesses whose preferred domain name in com had already been registered by another party. .org at least implies an organization, whereas .com is the most generic 'commercial'. But .biz seems like a total duplicate that doesn't seem in widespread use <pun>and deserves to be closed. </pun>. Does .biz have any advantages over .com? Are .biz domains worth registering if .com is already taken?

I may have to create a firefox addon? I'm quite lost, I think...
