• [C++] Is it possible to roll a significantly faster version of modf

  In an app I'm profiling, I found that in some scenarios this function is able to take over 10% of total execution time. MSVC++ 2008 compiler is being used, for reference...   Consider you have the following class public class OuterClass { ... private static class InnerClass { int foo; int bar; } } I think I've read somewhere (but not the official Java Tutorial) that if I would declare the static member classes attributes private, the compiler had to generate some sort of accessor methods so that the outer class can actually access the static member class's (which is effectively a package-private top level class) attributes. Any ideas on that?

My questions are: Will this execution order be different when I porting my program to different compiler (gcc or armcc), or different platform? What stuff does Standard C Library initialization do?   In the spirit of undefined behavior associated with sequence points such as “x = ++x” is it really undefined?, how does one get the compiler to complain about such code? Specifically, I am using Visual Studio 2010 and Xcode 4.3.1, the latter for an OSX app, and neither warned me about this. I even cranked up the warnings on VS2010 to "all", and it happily compiled this. (For the record, VS2010's version added 1 to the variable where Xcode's version kept the variable unchanged.)

• Downside to including headers in every source file (Objective-C)

  I'm currently including my AppDelegate.h and all of my category headers into every one of my source files using the MyApp_Prefix.pch prefix header, instead of manually #importing them only where they are used. The category methods and lots of compiler #define's in my app delegate are used in lots of places in my code. Is there any down side to this? Is it just that compilation will take longer?

  Okay, we have a SAN using Failover Cluster Management on a pair of 2008 servers. We created shares on here before and they are usable. Now when I go to create a new share I get the following error message: "Flags for the SMB Shared folder cannot be configured.   Hey guys sorry for disturbing you again, but these days I have a lot of work to do with ffmpeg. I found on http://code.google.com/p/ffmbc/wiki/XDCAMHD422Encoding vtag settings for XDCAM HD 422 and used them in my script, everything works fine for HD 422, now I am desperately searching for normal HD vtags and have found only one so far was xd3v for Apple XDCAM HD 1080i50 (35 Mb/s VBR) which I don't need because its interlaced. What I need are the vtags for 1080p24, 1080p25 and 1080p30. • I removed my-freeze.com NetAssistant, but now can't access two websites

  I used "Revo Uninstaller" to uninstall the spyware which left me with a problem using Internet Explorer so then downloaded the free version of "Hijack This" from the website and, not reading the Super User answer correctly, used fix for the general issues it found and saved the log file of the other queries. NetAssistant is completely gone or appears to have - Malwarebytes Malware remover cannot find anything and most Google searches now seem to work correctly. However in removing it I seem to have made an error and now whenever I search for and try to open or try to directly access two sites which I had tried to access via NetAssistant whilst infected IE8 says they cannot be displayed. One of them is Wikipedia and I use both regularly. I am not sure at what point this happened I think it may have been after using Revo Uninstaller and the second section where it looks for references to netassistant (in the registry?). Not sure if this is relevant but I can remember deleting some flags or something relating to Internet Explorer but not sure what. Any suggestions?

• xcopy and timeouts

However the timeout seems to be a problem. I see many single files then i see File creation error - Data error (cyclic redundancy check). and its currently trying to copy the next file. When i click my computer i see nothing and it also locks up for some seconds (30 maybe) So TrueCrypt is not a good solution if i must be able to copy files back from a volume with a corrupted sector? (answer in other thread please). Is there any way for me to change the timeout? • How to abort robocopy on first error

  When using robocopy windows utility, what flags do I set so that robocopy aborts on the very first error it sees, similar to xcopy /dry command? I need to mirror two dirs, and on occasion some files would be locked. I do not want robocopy to continue trying to copy files, or override the files that are not locked - rather the very first error should stop the whole copy process. UPDATE: I already have the /R set to 0 - unfortunately that it only applies to a single file, NOT to the whole copying process. Hence, the first file is ignored (instead of stopping the copying), but subsequent files are copied.
