  • Flash animations with Javascript?

    - by RichardBlizzard
Hi all, How does something like this work without Flash? http://www.dirtyphonebook.com/dashboard/425-205-1921 I right-clicked on it but there's no Flash menu. I love Flash because its stable and works. But is using some sort of Javascript hack for this kind of complex behavior actually a good idea?

  • Is there a JQuery equivalent class/library in PHP?

    - by DKinzer
Soon I'll be working on a batch script where I will need to make some changes to some HTML files. I know that I can use DOMDocument and DOMXPath to manipulate these files. But, I really love JQuery. It would be great if there was something a lot more like JQuery in the PHP world. Does anybody know if something like that exists? Thanks! D

  • How to achieve a hidden status bar using three20 framework

    - by Angelfilm Entertainment
I'm using the TTThumbsViewController section of the three20 framework, and I have the status bar hidden throughout my application. When the user views the full size image, taps the screen(hiding the controls), when they tap again the controls reappear but the status bar is there too. I've searched through the whole library and been unable to isolate the section where this is happening. I'd love it if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks, BB

  • Something Better than .NET Reflector?

    - by Josh Stodola
I used to love Reflector back in the day, but ever since RedGate took over it has gone downhill dramatically. Now it forces me to update (which is absolutely ridiculous), half the time the update doesn't go smoothly, and it is increasingly hindering my productivity with each update. I am sick of it, and I am ready for something better. Does anybody know of a better disassembler?

  • CSS + .MOV Object

    - by Naz
Hello all, I've created a page that uses jquery to slide from left to right displaying content in the middle of the page, everything around the centre is hidden via "overflow: hidden" which works a charm, until I embedded via the tags a quicktime video, it isn't hidden / it is always visible. I have no idea why this is happening and would love to get help on this! Cheers in advance!! http://twitter.com/_naz http://nazimjamil.com

  • How to convert string into datetime

    - by jstawski
Hello fellow stackoverflowers, quick question. I'm using C# 3.5 and I have a date that comes in as string in the following format: Tue Jan 20 20:47:43 GMT 2009 First question, what is the name of that format? Second question, what's the easiest and clearest way to convert this string into a datetime? I would love to be able to use a .net API/Helper method if possible. Thanks a bunch...

  • Where to wire up events?

    - by Jeffrey Cameron
I'm using Ninject (1.5 ... soon to be 2) and I'm curious how other people use Ninject or other IoC containers to help wire up events to objects? It seems to me in my code that I'm doing it herky-jerky all over the place and would love some advice on how to clean it up a bit.

  • Does Google hire .NET developers? [closed]

    - by Hermann
I am a .NET developer looking for a job. I've talked to someone who works at Google and loves it there and I generally have a good feeling about working for that company because I love most of Google's products and services. But are they even interested in .NET developers? I had the impression they only use non-proprietary technologies.

  • Why is git better than Subversion?

    - by Ben Mills
I've been using Subversion for a few years and after using SourceSafe, I just love Subversion. Combined with TortoiseSVN, I can't really imagine how it could be any better. Yet there's a growing number of developers claiming that Subversion has problems and that we should be moving to the new breed of distributed version control systems, such as Git. Can anyone explain how Git improves upon Subversion?

  • Does the Python 3 interpreter have a JIT feature?

    - by guz
I found that when I ask something more to Python, python doesn't use my machine resource at 100% and it's not really fast, it's fast if compared to many other interpreted languages, but when compared to compiled languages i think that the difference is really remarkable. It's possible to speedup things with a JIT compiler in Python 3 ? Usually a JIT compiler is the only thing that can improve performances in interpreted languages, so i'm referring to this one, if other solutions are available i would love to accept new answers.

    - by Maor
I am trying to move a WordPress installation from one server to another one, including all of the SQL data, and the file-system data (photos, template files). I just have a problem changing the URLs in the database, since I need to replace the new URL with the old one. I would love to have some suggestions about how can I replace the URLs (maybe there's a rplace statement in SQL?) Thanks in advance.
