  • Rails can't find my route but it exists!

    - by DJTripleThreat
    Ok I have events that I want to publish/unpublish with an extra action (nonRESTful) I watched Ryan Bates' railscast on this: http://railscasts.com/episodes/35-custom-rest-actions and it got me most of the way. I think the problem is that my route is nested in an /admin section so even though when I run rake routes and get: publish_admin_event PUT /admin/events/:id/publish(.:format) {:controller=>"event_services", :action=>"publish"} This won't work in my /views/admin/index.html.erb file: <%= link_to 'Publish', publish_admin_event(event), :method => :put %> because it claims that path doesn't exist! And neither will this: <%= link_to 'Publish', {:controller => :event_services, :action => :publish}, {:method => :put, :id => event} %> and says that "No route matches {:controller=>"event_services", :action=>"publish"}" so what gives? (And I've tried restarting my server so that isn't it.) EDIT: This DOES work: <%= link_to 'Publish', "/admin/events/" + event.id.to_s + "/publish", :method => :put %> But I'd rather NOT do this.

  • How to make groupbox invisble on select of a radiobutton

    - by Aditya
    Hi, I am doing an Windows Application using XAML ,WPF in C#. I have 2 radio buttons called "WriteData" and "ReadData". when writeData is selected, I need groupbox with a textbox and browse button inside it to be displayed at a particular location, (this i have already designed in UI..) <GroupBox Header="Browse Data" Name="grpBrowseData" Height="78" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="1030"> <Grid Name="grdBrowse" Height="60" Width="1030"> <Button x:Name="btnBrowseButton" Margin="0,7.5,45,20" Content="Browse" Click="BrowseButton_Click" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="111" /> <TextBox x:Name="txtBxBrowseTB" Margin="46,13.993,185,17.5" Text="TextBox" TextWrapping="Wrap" TextChanged="BrowseTB_TextChanged" ></TextBox> <Label HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="-1.25,8.75,0,15" Name="label1" Width="47.5" FontSize="13" VerticalContentAlignment="Center" HorizontalContentAlignment="Center">Path:</Label> Now, if I select "ReadData" radio button, a combo box should be visible in the SAME LOCATION where the above groupbox is displayed, the xaml code for this <GroupBox Header="Select the Project" Name="grpSelectProject" Height="78" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Width="1030" Visibility="Visible" Margin="-1030,0,0,0"> <Grid Name="grdSelectProject" Height="60" Width="1030"> <Label HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalContentAlignment="Center" HorizontalContentAlignment="Center" Margin="0,11.662,0,20.825" Width="95.103">Select the Project</Label> <ComboBox Margin="119.952,13.994,493.969,16.66"></ComboBox> </Grid></GroupBox> so, how do I make only one visible as per the radio button selected. In the ReadData_click event i tried to make other groupbox invisble. but I wasnt able to do that. please help me. Thanks Ramm

  • JavaScript: How to reverse order=[] arrays from last to first?

  • Move camera to fit 3D scene

    - by Burre
    Hi there. I'm looking for an algorithm to fit a bounding box inside a viewport (in my case a DirectX scene). I know about algorithms for centering a bounding sphere in a orthographic camera but would need the same for a bounding box and a perspective camera. I have most of the data: I have the up-vector for the camera I have the center point of the bounding box I have the look-at vector (direction and distance) from the camera point to the box center I have projected the points on a plane perpendicular to the camera and retrieved the coefficients describing how much the max/min X and Y coords are within or outside the viewing plane. Problems I have: Center of the bounding box isn't necessarily in the center of the viewport (that is, it's bounding rectangle after projection). Since the field of view "skew" the projection (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Perspective-foreshortening.svg) I cannot simply use the coefficients as a scale factor to move the camera because it will overshoot/undershoot the desired camera position How do I find the camera position so that it fills the viewport as pixel perfect as possible (exception being if the aspect ratio is far from 1.0, it only needs to fill one of the screen axis)? I've tried some other things: Using a bounding sphere and Tangent to find a scale factor to move the camera. This doesn't work well, because, it doesn't take into account the perspective projection, and secondly spheres are bad bounding volumes for my use because I have a lot of flat and long geometries. Iterating calls to the function to get a smaller and smaller error in the camera position. This has worked somewhat, but I can sometimes run into weird edge cases where the camera position overshoots too much and the error factor increases. Also, when doing this I didn't recenter the model based on the position of the bounding rectangle. I couldn't find a solid, robust way to do that reliably. Help please!

  • Rows added to table are not showing up

    - by Lars
    This has been asked before, but I have found no solution that worked for me yet: When adding rows to a table from code, the rows are not showing up in the application. There is one row I specified in XML, that one is showing up, but nothing below it. This is the code: public void addRow(LocationMessage locationMsg){ View messageView = theInflater.inflate(R.layout.homepage, null); TableLayout table = (TableLayout)messageView.findViewById(R.id.distanceTable); TextView senderNameTextView = new TextView(thisContext); senderNameTextView.setText(locationMsg.getSenderName()); TableRow tr = new TableRow(thisContext); tr.addView(distanceTextView); table.addView(tr); rows.addFirst(messageView); } homepage.xml contains this, I removed some elements and parameters: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout> <TabHost> <TabWidget /> <FrameLayout> [..] <LinearLayout> [..] <TableLayout android:id="@+id/distanceTable" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center" android:background="#DDDDDD" android:stretchColumns="1" > <TableRow> <TextView android:textColor="#000000" android:text="@string/label_device" android:layout_gravity="center" android:padding="3dip" android:textSize="18sp" /> <TextView android:textColor="#000000" android:text="@string/label_distance" android:layout_gravity="center" android:padding="3dip" android:textSize="18sp" /> <TextView android:textColor="#000000" android:text="@string/label_time" android:layout_gravity="center" android:padding="3dip" android:textSize="18sp" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> </LinearLayout> </FrameLayout> </TabHost> </LinearLayout> Unfortunately hierarchyviewer.bat doesn't work for me in order to check if the rows are there but just not visible. In the debugger it looks fine to me.

  • android: consume key press, bypassing framework processing

    - by user360024
    What I want android to do: when user presses a single key, have the view respond, but do so without opening a text area and displaying the character associated with the key that was pressed, and without requiring that the Enter key be pressed, and without requiring that the user press Esc to make the text area go away. For example, when user presses "u" (and doesn't press Enter), that means "undo the last action", so the controller and model immediately undo the last action, then the view does an invalidate() and user sees that their last action has been undone. In other words the "u" key press should be silently processed, such that the only visual result is that user's last action has been undone. I've implemented OnKeyListener and provided an onKey() method: the class: public class MyGameView extends View implements OnKeyListener{ in the constructor: //2010jun06, phj: With onKey(), helps let this View consume key presses // before the framework gets a chance to consume the key press. setOnKeyListener((View.OnKeyListener)this); the onKey() method: public boolean onKey(View v, int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { if (keyCode == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_R) { Log.d("BWA", "In onKey received keycode associated with R."); } return true; // meaning the event (key press) has been consumed, so // the framework should not handle this event. } but when user presses "u" key on the emulator keypad, a textarea is opened at the bottom of the screen, the "u" charater is displayed there, and the onKey() method doesn't execute until user presses the Enter key. Is there a way to make android do what I want? Thanks,

  • ASP.NET MVC - ValidationSummary set from a different controller

    - by Rap
    I have a HomeController with an Index action that shows the Index.aspx view. It has a username/password login section. When the user clicks the submit button, it POSTs to a Login action in the AccountController. <% Html.BeginForm("Login", "Account", FormMethod.Post); %> In that action, it tests for Username/Password validity and if invalid, sends the user back to the Login page with a message that the credentials were bad. [HttpPost] public ActionResult Login(LoginViewModel Model, string ReturnUrl) { User user = MembershipService.ValidateUser(Model.UserName, Model.Password); if (user != null) { //Detail removed here FormsService.SignIn(user.ToString(), Model.RememberMe); return Redirect(ReturnUrl); } else { ModelState.AddModelError("", "The user name or password provided is incorrect."); } // If we got this far, something failed, redisplay form return RedirectToAction("Index", "Home"); // <-- Here is the problem. ModelState is lost. } But here's the problem: the ValidationSummary is always blank because we're losing the Model when we RedirectToAction. How do I send the user to the action on a different controller without a Redirect?

  • Referencing not-yet-defined variables - Java

    - by user2537337
    Because I'm tired of solving math problems, I decided to try something more engaging with my very rusty (and even without the rust, very basic) Java skills. I landed on a super-simple people simulator, and thus far have been having a grand time working through the various steps of getting it to function. Currently, it generates an array of people-class objects and runs a for loop to cycle through a set of actions that alter the relationships between them, which I have stored in a 2d integer array. When it ends, I go look at how much they all hate each other. Fun stuff. Trouble has arisen, however, because I would like the program to clearly print what action is happening when it happens. I thought the best way to do this would be to add a string, description, to my "action" class (which stores variables for the actor, reactor, and the amount the relationship changes). This works to a degree, in that I can print a generic message ("A fight has occurred!") with no problem. However, ideally I would like it to be a little more specific ("Person A has thrown a rock at Person B's head!"). This latter goal is proving more difficult: attempting to construct an action with a description string that references actor and reactor gets me a big old error, "Cannot reference field before it is defined." Which makes perfect sense. I believe I'm not quite in programmer mode, because the only other way I can think to do this is an unwieldy switch statement that negates the need for each action to have its own nicely-packaged description. And there must be a neater way. I am not looking for examples of code, only a push in the direction of the right concept to handle this.

  • Load PHP function with jQuery Ajax

    - by brandon14_99
    I have a file which is loaded at the top of my document, which is called Videos.php. Inside that file are several functions, such as getYoutubeVideos. On some pages, I need to call upon that function several times (up to 50), and it of course creates major lag on load times. So I have been trying to figure out how to call that function in, only when it is need (when someone clicks the show videos button). I have very little experience with jQuery's ajax abilities. I would like the ajax call to be made inside of something like this: jQuery('a[rel=VideoPreview1).click(function(){ jQuery ("a[rel=VideoPreview1]").hide(); jQuery ("a[rel=HideVideoPreview1]").show(); jQuery ("#VideoPreview1").show(); //AJAX STUFF HERE preventDefault(); }); Ok I have created this based on the responses, but it is still not working: jQuery Code: jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery("a[rel=VideoPreview5]").click(function(){ jQuery("a[rel=VideoPreview5]").hide(); jQuery("a[rel=HideVideoPreview5]").show(); jQuery.post("/Classes/Video.php", {action: "getYoutubeVideos", artist: "Train", track: "Hey, Soul Sister"}, function(data){ jQuery("#VideoPreview5").html(data); }, 'json'); jQuery("#VideoPreview5").show(); preventDefault(); }); jQuery("a[rel=HideVideoPreview5]").click(function(){ jQuery("a[rel=VideoPreview5]").show(); jQuery("a[rel=HideVideoPreview5]").hide(); jQuery("#VideoPreview5").hide(); preventDefault(); }); }); And the PHP code: $Action = isset($_POST['action']); $Artist = isset($_POST['artist']); $Track = isset($_POST['track']); if($Action == 'getYoutubeVideos') { echo 'where are the videos'; echo json_encode(getYoutubeVideos($Artist.' '.$Track, 1, 5, 'relevance')); }

  • Scala implicit dynamic casting

    - by weakwire
    I whould like to create a scala Views helper for Android Using this combination of trait and class class ScalaView(view: View) { def onClick(action: View => Any) = view.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener { def onClick(view: View) { action(view) } }) } trait ScalaViewTrait { implicit def view2ScalaView(view: View) = new ScalaView(view) } I'm able to write onClick() like so class MainActivity extends Activity with ScalaViewTrait { //.... val textView = new TextView(this) textView.onClick(v => v.asInstanceOf[TextView] setText ("asdas")) } My concern is that i want to avoid casting v to TextView v will always be TextView if is applied to a TextView LinearLayout if applied to LinearLayout and so on. Is there any way that v gets dynamic casted to whatever view is applied? Just started with Scala and i need your help with this. UPDATE With the help of generics the above get's like this class ScalaView[T](view: View) { def onClick(action: T => Any) = view.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener { def onClick(view: View) { action(view.asInstanceOf[T]) } }) } trait ScalaViewTrait { implicit def view2ScalaView[T](view: View) = new ScalaView[T](view) } i can write onClick like this view2ScalaView[TextView](textView) .onClick(v => v.setText("asdas")) but is obvious that i don't have any help from explicit and i moved the problem instead or removing it

  • JSF 2 - clearing component attributes on page load?

    - by jamiebarrow
    Hi, The real question: Is there a way to clear certain attributes for all components on an initial page load? Background info: In my application, I have a JSF 2.0 frontend layer that speaks to a service layer (the service layer is made up of Spring beans that get injected to the managed beans). The service layer does its own validation, and I do the same validation in the frontend layer using my own validator classes to try and avoid code duplication somehow. These validator classes aren't JSF validators, they're just POJOs. I'm only doing validation on an action, so in the action method, I perform validation, and only if it's valid do I call through to the service layer. When I do my validation, I set the styleClass and title on the UIComponents using reflection (so if the UIComponent has the setStyleClass(:String) or setTitle(:String) methods, then I use them). This works nicely, and on a validation error I see a nicely styled text box with a popup containing the error message if I hover over it. However, since the component is bound to a Session Scoped Managed Bean, it seems that these attributes stick. So if I navigate away and come back to the same page, the styleClass and title are still in the error state. Is there a way to clear the styleClass and title attributes on each initial page load? Thanks, James P.S. I'm using the action method to validate because of some issues I had before with JSF 1.2 and it's validation methods, but can't remember why... so that's why I'm using the action method to validate.

  • NullPointerException with Servlet

  • Using struts 2 with no tags

    - by WannaAsk
    Hi everyone, I wonder if you could guide me on this struts issue - I feel hopeless on this... I am working on migrating our web application to a Struts 2 portlet (I'm using Struts 2.1.8). The thing is, I am forced to avoid struts tags because our application relies on Dijit widgets, which are omitted when using struts tags. So now I should implement the <s:form tag using scriptlets. My question is: how you would suggest I imitate the way struts handles the "action" attribute? Right now it appears I should: Create a regular html form in my jsp. Get/create the ActionConfig object during onsubmit and set on it values which match my desired destination: class+method+result jsp. Execute the action I set in 2. Would you recommend this? If so - is ActionConfig obtained from the session? Can I initiate an action execution from ActionConfig? (Aletrnatively... generating an action url using struts' form.vm file - what do you say?) I would appreciate any help on this - Thanks a lot in advance!!!

  • How to find whole graph coverage path in dynamic state-flow diagram?

    - by joseph
    Hello, As I've been researching algorithms for path finding in graph, I found interesting problem. Definition of situation: 1)State diagram can have p states, and s Boolean Fields, and z Int Fields 2)Every state can have q ingoing and r outgoing transitions, and h Int fields (h belongs to z - see above) 3)Every transition can have only 1 event, and only 1 action 4)every action can change n Boolean Fields, and x Int Fields 5)every event can have one trigger from combination of any count of Boolean Fields in diagram 6)Transition can be in OPEN/CLOSED form. If the transition is open/closed depends on trigger2 compounded from 0..c Boolean fields. 7) I KNOW algorithm for finding shortest paths from state A to state B. 8) I KNOW algorithm for finding path that covers all states and transitions of whole state diagram, if all transitions are OPEN. Now, what is the goal: I need to find shortest path that covers all states and transitions in dynamically changing state diagram described above. When an action changes some int field, the algorithm should go through all states that have changed int field. The algorithm should also be able to open and close transition (by going through transitions that open and close another transitions by action) in the way that the founded path will be shortest and covers all transitions and states. Any idea how to solve it? I will be really pleased for ANY idea. Thanks for answers.

  • JSTL <c:out> where the element name contains a space character...

    - by Shane
    I have an array of values being made available, but unfortunately some of the variable names include a space. I cannot work out how to simply output these in the page. I know I'm not explaining this well (I'm the JSP designer, not the Java coder) so hopefully this example will illustrate what I'm trying to do: <c:out value="${x}"/> outputs to the page (artificially wrapped) as: {width=96.0, orderedheight=160.0, instructions=TEST ONLY. This is a test., productId=10132, publication type=ns, name=John} I can output the name by using <c:out value="${x.name}"/> no problems. The issue is when I try to get the "publication type"... because it has a space, I can't seem to get <c:out> to display it. I have tried: <!-- error parsing custom action attribute: --> <c:out value="${x.publication type}"/> <!-- error occurred while evaluating custom action attribute: --> <c:out value="${x.publication+type}"/> <!-- error occurred while parsing custom action attribute: --> <c:out value="${x.'publication type'}"/> <!-- error occurred while parsing custom action attribute: --> <c:out value="${x.publication%20type}"/> I know the real solution is to get the variable names formatted correctly (ie: without spaces) but I can't get the code updated for quite a while. Can this be done? Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Problem Routing domains subfolder

    - by hkda150
    Hi there, I'm pretty new to ASP.NET MVC and I hope it is not a too silly question. So here it comes. I have ... a ASP.NET MVC application with a domain similar to http://mydomain/mysubfoler1/myappfolder My problem... The problem for me is the routing of my application (it worked fine without using a subfolder after the domain-name). The applications homepage loads not to bad, with css files but without ressources like images (defined in css files) and without jQuery ajax calls similar to /mycontroller/myaction links are only working once (the second time I get a page similar to this link: http://mydomain/mysubfoler1/myappfolder/myController/myController/myAction) Here's my Global.asax contaning the routing: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "myController", action = "Index", id = "" } defaults ); routes.MapRoute( "Root", "", new { controller = "myController", action = "Index", id = "" } ); } protected void Application_Start() { ViewEngines.Engines.Clear(); ViewEngines.Engines.Add(new MyApplicationWeb.LocalizationWebFormViewEngine()); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); //RouteDebug.RouteDebugger.RewriteRoutesForTesting(RouteTable.Routes); } Any suggestions? My first suggestion was to use areas like: "mysubfolder1/myappfolder/{controller}/{action}/{id}" (but without any luck) Thank you very much for your help!

  • URL routing in an MVC framework - PHP

    - by Walderman
    I'm developing an MVC framework in PHP from scratch; mostly for the learning experience but this could easily end up in a live project. I went through this tutorial as a base and I've expanded from there. Requests are made like this: examplesite.com/controller/action/param1/param2/ and so on... And this is my .htaccess file: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?rt=$1 [L,QSA] So all requests go to index.php and they are routed to the correct controller and action from there. If no controller or action is given, then the default 'index' is assumed for both. I have an index controller with an index action, which is supposed to be the home page of my site. I can access it by going to examplesite.com (since the index part is assumed). It has some images, a link to a stylesheet, and some scripts. They are linked with paths relative to index.php. I thought this would be fine since all request go to index.php and all content is simply included in this page using php. This works if I go to examplesite.com. I will see all of the images and styles, and scripts will run. However, if I go to examplesite.com/index, I am routed to the correct part of the site, but all of the links don't work. Does the browser think I am in a different folder? I would like to be able to use relative paths for all of the content in my site, because otherwise I need to use absolute paths everywhere to make sure things will show up. Is this possible?

  • Ruby on Rails user login form in main layout

    - by Jimmy
    Hey guys I have a simple ror application for some demo stuff. I am running into a problem with trying to move my login form from the users controller and just have it displayed in the main navigation so that a user can easily log in from anywhere. The problem is the form doesn't generate the correct action for the html form. Ruby code: <% form_for(url_for(:action => 'login'), :method => 'post') do |f| %> <li><%= f.text_field("username") %></li> <li><%= f.password_field("password") %></li> <li><%= submit_tag("Login")%></li> <% end %> The problem is depending on the controller I am currently in this generates HTML actions like <form action="/home" method="post">...</form> when it should be generating HTML like so <form action="/login" method="post">...</form> I know I could simply do an HTML form here but I want to keep things as easy to maintain as possible. Any help?

  • Java's Swing Threading

    - by nevets1219
    My understanding is that if I start up another thread to perform some actions, I would need to SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait or SwingUtilities.invokeLater to update the GUI while I'm in said thread. Please correct me if I'm wrong. What I'm trying to accomplish is relatively straightforward: when the user clicks submit, I want to (before performing any actions) disable the submit button, perform the action, and at the end of the action re-enable the button. My method to perform the action updates the GUI directly (displays results) when it gets the results back. This action basically queries a server and gets some results back. What I have so far is: boolean isRunning = false; synchronized handleButtonClick() { if ( isRunning == false ) { button.setEnabled( false ); isRunning = true; doAction(); } } doAction() { new Thread() { try { doAction(); // Concern A } catch ( ... ) { displayStackTrace( ... ); // Concern B } finally { SwingUtilities.invokeLater ( /* simple Runnable to enable button */ ); isRunning = false; } } } For both of my concerns above, do I would have to use SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait since they both will update the GUI? All GUI updates revolve around updating JTextPane. Do I need to in my thread check if I'm on EDT and if so I can call my code (regardless of whether it updates the GUI or not) and NOT use SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait?

Question: How can i tell this rule allow evertying as it is now, but do not track if it contains http://site.com/donotcatch/me and http://site.com/iamnotbelongstodynamic1/blabla protected function _initRoutes() { ... $dynamic1 = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( '/:variable0/:variable1', array( 'controller' => 'index', 'action' => 'index'), array( 'variable0' => '^[a-zA-Z0-9_]*$', 'variable1' => '^[a-zA-Z0-9_]*$', ) ); Follow up: Normally, i always belive yes we can, so, we can do that like this where dynamic1 does not the inter-fare with my other static controllers: // http://site/yeswecan/blabla // variable0 = yeswecan // variable1 = blabla $dynamic1 = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( '/:variable0/:variable1', array( 'controller' => 'index', 'action' => 'index'), array( 'variable0' => '^[a-zA-Z]*$', 'variable1' => '^[a-z0-9_]*$', ) ); // http://site/ajax/whatever... // solves it $dynamic2 = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( '/ajax/:variable0', array( 'controller' => 'ajax', 'action' => '' ), array( 'variable0' => '^[a-zA-Z0-9_]*$', ) ); // http://site/order/whatever... // solves it $dynamic3 = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( '/order/:variable0', array( 'controller' => 'order', 'action' => ''), array( 'variable0' => '^[a-zA-Z0-9_]*$', ) ); Note: Still the controllers are getting failed for example http://site/ajax/whatever always goes to /ajax/index where i wanted to send it as /ajax/user-inserted-value How can i fix the $dynamic2 and $dynamic3 by keeping $dynamic1 ??

  • I'm trying to make a php Curl call to formstack api, but I get nothing

    - by Oskar Calvo
    This is one of my first curls code, so it can have mistakes I'm trying to be able to make calls to form/:id/submissions https://www.formstack.com/developers/api/resources/submission#form/:id/submission_GET If I load: https://www.formstack.com/api/v2/form/1311091/submission.json?oauth_token=44eedc50d015b95164897f5e408670f0&min_time=2012-09-01%2000:01:01&max_time=2012-10-27%2000:01:01 If works great. If I try this code: <?php $host = 'https://www.formstack.com/api/v2/'; // TODO this should manage dinamics values or build an action in every method. $action = 'form/1311091/submission.json'; $url = $host . $action; // TODO this values will arrive like an array with values $postData['oauth_token']= '44eedc50d015b95164897f5e408670f0'; $postData['min_time'] ='2012-09-01 00:01:01'; $postData['max_time'] ='2012-10-27 00:01:01'; // TODO make a method with this action function getElements($postData) { $elements = array(); foreach ($postData as $name=>$value) { $elements[] = "{$name}=".urlencode($value); } } $curl = curl_init(); curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_URL, $url); curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_HTTPGET, true); curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $elements); $result = curl_exec($curl) ; curl_close($curl); var_dump($result); ?>

  • How can I handle arbitrary text as "nouns" in Inform 7?

    - by Beska
    In Inform, I'd like to be able to create a new action, and have it be able to work on aribitrary text. I can easily create a new action that will work on existing things. Finding is an action with past participle found, applying to one thing. Understand "Find [something]" as finding. Carry out finding: say "You find [the noun]." But this only works on items that exist within the game world. If I try to "find fdsljk", for instance, it will fail because I haven't created a "fdsljk". I'd like to be able to "find fdsljk" and then be able to grab that extra text and respond with it...something like "You find the fdsljk." I was thinking that something like A foo is a kind of value. Finding is an action with past participle found, applying to one foo. Understand "Find [something]" as finding. Carry out finding: say "You find [the foo]." might be close...but it doesn't work. I get an error that reads: You wrote 'say "You find [the foo]."' , and in particular 'the foo': but this asked to say something of a kind which can't be said, or rather, printed. Although this problem can arise when you use complicated text substitutions which come in variant forms depending on the kinds of value used, far more often what this means is just that you tried to use a substituted value (e.g., in 'say "The dial reads [V]."') of a kind which could not be printed out. For instance, if V is a number or a piece of text, there is no problem: but if V is a parsing topic, say an entry in a 'topic' column of a table, then this problem will arise. The italics are mine, and highlight the key...I think this should be doable, but I'm taking the wrong path. Clues?

  • help me to choose between two designs

    - by alex
    // stupid title, but I could not think anything smarter I have a code (see below, sorry for long code but it's very-very simple): namespace Option1 { class AuxClass1 { string _field1; public string Field1 { get { return _field1; } set { _field1 = value; } } // another fields. maybe many fields maybe several properties public void Method1() { // some action } public void Method2() { // some action 2 } } class MainClass { AuxClass1 _auxClass; public AuxClass1 AuxClass { get { return _auxClass; } set { _auxClass = value; } } public MainClass() { _auxClass = new AuxClass1(); } } } namespace Option2 { class AuxClass1 { string _field1; public string Field1 { get { return _field1; } set { _field1 = value; } } // another fields. maybe many fields maybe several properties public void Method1() { // some action } public void Method2() { // some action 2 } } class MainClass { AuxClass1 _auxClass; public string Field1 { get { return _auxClass.Field1; } set { _auxClass.Field1 = value; } } public void Method1() { _auxClass.Method1(); } public void Method2() { _auxClass.Method2(); } public MainClass() { _auxClass = new AuxClass1(); } } } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { // Option1 Option1.MainClass mainClass1 = new Option1.MainClass(); mainClass1.AuxClass.Field1 = "string1"; mainClass1.AuxClass.Method1(); mainClass1.AuxClass.Method2(); // Option2 Option2.MainClass mainClass2 = new Option2.MainClass(); mainClass2.Field1 = "string2"; mainClass2.Method1(); mainClass2.Method2(); Console.ReadKey(); } } What option (option1 or option2) do you prefer ? In which cases should I use option1 or option2 ? Is there any special name for option1 or option2 (composition, aggregation) ?
