• Binary to Ascii and back again

  I'm trying to interface with a hardware device via the serial port. When I use software like Portmon to see the messages they look like this: 42 21 21 21 21 41 45 21 26 21 29 21 26 59 5F 41 30 21 2B 21 27 42 21 21 21 21 41 47 21 27 21 28 21 27 59 5D 41 32 21 2A 21 28 When I run them thru a hex to ascii converter the commands don't make sense. Are these messages in fact something different than hex? My hope was to see the messages the device is passing and emulate them using c#. What can I do to find out exactly what the messages are?

  I am currently using the following to filter my JTable RowFilter.regexFilter( Pattern.compile(textField.getText(), Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE).toString(), columns ); How do I format my textField or filter so if I want to filter multiple columns I can do that. Right now I can filter multiple columns but my filter can only be of one of the columns An example might help my explanation better: Name Grade GPA Zac A 4.0 Zac F 1.0 Mike A 4.0 Dan C 2.0 The text field would contain Zac A or something similar and it would show the first Zac row if columns was int[]{0, 1}. Right now if I do the above I get nothing. The filter Zac works but I get both Zac's. A also works but I would then get Zac A 4.0 and Mike A 3.0. I hope I have explained my problem well. Please let me know if you do not understand.

I understand the idea behind it, but will this work if my root node is not a node that is coming from the database or something (therefore, it does not have any id). My root node is some node that I define myself. How would I make an async tree in jquery easy ui to load a bunch of nodes as children of my root node (which, again has no id because it's not coming from the database. My children nodes are coming from the database though). I hope y'all understand what I'm trying to do here. Any help please

  Using the following JQuery/AJAX function I'm calling a partial view when an option is changed in a combobox named "ReportedIssue" that is also in the partial view. I think I'm supposed to use the JQuery ".live()" but I'm unsure. In short, I want to re-establish the link between my JavaScript and my combobox and after the inclusion of the partial view's HTML. • JSON parser for J2ME

  I need a basic JSON parser that works with J2ME / CLDC 1.1. A Google search returns tons of answers on this (some even on stackoverflow), but it appears that all point to libraries and solutions that are no longer available (for example, lots point to an implementation that is supposed to be on the json.org site, but at least I can't find anything that isn't J2SE only there). My best hope so far is the source linked here: https://meapplicationdevelopers.dev.java.net/mobileajax.html, but from that one I can't even find a straight forward way to download the code. Given the mature state of Java in all other aspects, surely there must be somewhere I can get a pre-compiled JAR to use for parsing JSON from J2ME?

• Safely delete a TFS branch project

  I'm currently reorganising our TFS source control for a very large set of solutions, and I've done this successfully so far. I have a problem at the moment where I need to delete a legacy "Release Branch" TFS project that was branched for the old structure, and is no-longer required since I now host a release branch within the new structure. This is an example of how the source control now looks after moving everything: $/Source Project /Trunk /[Projects] /Release /[Projects] $/Release Branch Project /[Projects] /[Other legacy stuff] So far I've found information that says: tf delete /lock:checkout /recursive TestMain to delete a branch. TfsDeleteProject to delete a project tf delete seems to be only relevant when I need to delete a branch that is within the same project as the trunk, and TfsDeleteProject doesn't seem like it will delete the branch association from the source project (I hope I'm wrong, see below). Can someone tell me if the above will work, and in what order I should perform them in, to successfully delete the TFS $/Release Branch Project while also deleting the branch association (from right-click $/Source Project - Properties - Branches)?

• Terminology: Difference between software interface, software component, software unit, software modu

  I see these terms used quite a lot between various authors, but I can't seem to fix upon definitive definitions. From my POV a software interface is a "type" specifying the way in which a software component may be used by other softare components. But what exactly a software component is I'm not entirely sure (and it seems no-one else is either). Same goes for software unit, and software module, although I suspect that a software unit is a smaller, ahem, unit than a component, and a software module has something to do with packaging. I hope this is not deemed (and downvoted) as frivulous, as I have serious intent in the asking.

• Way to concat strings when using binding in Silverlight

  I wonder if there is a way of concating two strings in Silverlight inside xaml file. I have a DataGrid where one of the columns is 'Default Contact' and I would like to represent data in there as first and last name. <sdk:DataGridTextColumn Header="Default Contact" Binding="{Binding Path=DefaultContact.FirstName}" /> I was thinking about something like: Binding="{Binding Path=DefaultContact.FirstName + " " + DefaultContact.LasttName}" But this doesn't work. I don't even know if this is possible to achieve. Seems like really basic thing so I hope it is supported in some way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, I have a question about list views. I hope someone knows the solution, because I have been trying to solve this problem all weekend. I have a custom list view in which every row have a custom .xml (item_row.xml) with a set color background for the row item. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="70dip" android:orientation="vertical" android:background="@drawable/list_bg"> The problem is that when I try to make a selector for the list. I want two things: When the item is focused, the typical orange rectangle should appear over it, and the same When the item is pressed. I have proved with a selector and a custom style but all I get is or the selector doesn't appear or the selector covering the item so I can't see it. If anyone could help me with finding the right code I would be very grateful. Thanks

But I don't want a list that shows: SG MV I want a list that shows: Song Movie I can do this on an individual object basis if I was in the template object.get_type_display But how do I get a list of all of the unique "type" entries in the database as their full names for output into a template? I hope this question was clearly described. . .

• access violation in wglMakeCurrent

  Sometimes in my OpenGL application I get an access violation in the following API call: wglMakeCurrent(NULL, NULL); The application only has one single thread, and I've checked that before that call, both the DC and HGLRC that are currently used are correct and valid. There are three different windows with OpenGL content, and they're all redrawn on WM_PAINT messages and if a refresh is required due to user interaction (e.g., picking an object). Also this access violation happens on different machines with different graphic cards, so I don't think it's a driver issue. What could make this API call crash? What should I investigate in the app code to find out where/why this happens? I'm really lost here since I've checked everything I could think of already. I hope someone can give me hints/ideas on what more to check.

• Xcode warning: application executable contains unsupported architecture(s):arm, arm (-19031)

  Hi all. I've been receiving this warning since I loaded my project in last Xcode 4 preview. There was no warning before that but now I can't get rid of it even in Xcode 3.2. I've been googling but nobody seems to have the same error. My project and target settings are correct (IMHO): Architectures: Standard (armv6 armv7), Base SDK: Latest iOS (currently set to iOS 4.2), Build Active Architecture Only: FALSE, Valid Architectures: armv6 armv7. I compared every project setting with other projects and and found no differences. I even have recreated the project starting from scratch and copying classes, resources and frameworks with the same result. I must say that the warning is not shown when I set Debug configuration. I hope someone can help me because I don't know what to do. Thanks in advice.

  I am looking for a programatic way to access content in a Lotus Notes database (.nsf file) without having Lotus Notes software installed. Python would be preferred but I'm also willing to look at other languages e.g. C/C++ or other means e.g. SQL From what I have read, all of the methods e.g. Python COM access, pyodbc rely on having Lotus Notes server software installed. The problem I am trying to solve is to read the content and look for references (URL's back to a web site that is undergoing maintenance and the addresses in the web site will change) As a start, I want to get a list of references and hope to be able to replace them with the new references to the modified web site. Any ideas on how best to do this welcome :)

  Hi, I'm trying to work on a new project parsing some JSON data for a Silverlight 4 project (specifically created as a "Silverlight Business Application - Visual C#" project) using C# in Visual Studio 2010, and I can't find how to include the references to have parsers and native object support for JSON data. As far as I know my development tools are up to date (checked MS update). I know that I can probably just write my own parser but that seems like re-inventing the wheel. Below are some lines that work in VS 2008 in another project of ours (can't post the files due to their being part of a business app): using System.Json; results = (JsonObject)JsonObject.Load(e.Result); I hope my description is adequate.   Hi, I am having problems with my universal app. I have set the Base SDK to iPhone 3.2 and set the target to 3.1. I have moved the files that are using the UIPopoverController to their own files and they shouldn't be loaded when loading the app on the iPhone. • ListView selection issue...Using onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, ...)

  The problem I hope to resolve here is that when I click on one item in the ListView that item's background changes to light gray, but when I continue to scroll through the list every 4th item has the background changed to light gray even though those other items have not been clicked. How do I make only the item I clicked be effected by the click? • F# vs Haskell vs Lisp - which language to learn?

  I've heard a lot about functional programming languages and I'm willing to learn one. I guess it will be mostly for fun, however, I hope it will improve my programming skills. I have mostly C#/.NET background, so my first choice is to learn F# (because of .NET and familiarity with Visual Studio). On the on other hand, I wonder if F# has features like Lisp macros or Haskell higher order functions. Could you compare F#, Haskell and Lisp? Which one will be the language of your choice?

• Matlab 3d volume visualization and 3d overlay

  Hi, so the question ist pretty much the title. I have a 3d volume loaded as raw data [256, 256, 256] = size(A). It contains only values of zero's and ones, where the 1's represent the structure and 0's the "air". I want to visualize the structure in matlab and then run an algorithm on it and put an overlay on it, let's say in the color red. So to be more precise: How do i visualize the 3d volume. 0's transparent, 1's semitransparent? Plot a line in the 3 d vis as an overlay? I already read the mathworks tutorials and they didn't help. I tried using the set command, but it fails completly saying for every property i try "invalid root property". I hope someone can help.

• Facebox window closes after submit

  Hi all I have a question regarding Facebox. When I click a certain link on my page, the Facebox modal window opens just fine. But inside this modal window I'd like to have a form that users can submit. When the users click the submit-button, the whole page refreshes, and my Facebox-window is closed. This makes sense to me, but I'd like it to work differently. I want to give the user a confirmation, inside of the modal window, after they have submitted the form. So when a user clicks the submit-button, a confirmation should be showed inside og the modal-window. Anybody know if this is possible?   I have a problem with the mapping of Oracle Float double precision datatype to Java Double datatype. The hibernate schema validator seems to fail when the Java Double datatype is used. org.hibernate.HibernateException: Wrong column type in DB.TABLE for column amount. Found: float, expected: double precision The only way to avoid this is to disable schema validation and hope the schema is in sync with the app about to run. I must fix this before it goes out to production. App's evironment: - Grails 1.2.1 - Hibernate-core 3.3.1.GA - Oracle 10g

  I got a Problem with a regex expression and need help. I have some expressions like these in mein .txt File: 19 = NAND (1, 19) regex expression : http://rubular.com/r/U8rO09bvTO With this regex expression i got seperated matches for the numbers. But now I need a regex expression with a unknown size of numbers in the bracket . For example: 19 = NAND (1, 23, 13, 24) match1: 19 match2: 1 match3: 23 match4: 13 match5: 24 I don't know the number of the numbers. So i need a main expression for min 2 numbers in the bracket till a unknow number. I hope somebody can help me.
