  • How do I map repeating columns in NHibernate without creating duplicate properties

    Given a database that has numerous repeating columns used for auditing and versioning, what is the best way to model it using NHibernate, without having to repeat each of the columns in each of the classes in the domain model? Every table in the database repeats these same nine columns, the names and types are identical and I don't want to replicate it in the domain model. I have read the docs and I saw the section on inheritance mapping but I couldn't see how to make it work in this scenario. This seems like a common scenario because nearly every database I've work on has had the four common audit columns (CreatedBy, CreateDate, UpdatedBy, UpdateDate) in nearly every table. This database is no different except that it introduces another five columns which are common to every table.

  • SpringFramework3.0: How to create interceptors that only apply to requests that map to certain contr

    In it's simplest form, I want an interceptor that checks session data to see if a user is logged in, and if not redirects them to the login page. Obviously, I wouldn't want this interceptor to be used on say the welcome page or the login page itself. I've seen a design that uses a listing of every url to one of two interceptors, one doing nothing and the other being the actual interceptor you want implemented, but this design seems very clunky and limits the ease of extensibility of the application. It makes sense to me that there should be an annotation-based way of using interceptors, but this doesn't seem to exist. My friend has the idea of actually modifying the handler class so that during each request it checks the Controller it is mapping the request to for a new annotation we would create (ex @Interceptor("loginInterceptor") ). A major point of my thinking is the extensibility, because I'd like to later implement similar interceptors for role-based authentication and/or administration authentication. Does it sound like my friend's approach would work for this? Or what is a proper way of going about doing this?

    I have a list of longitude and longitude points in an xml file that is used throughout my application. I find my self repeating this code to get points often and think there must be a better way? String[] mTempArray = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.stations); int len = mTempArray.length; mStationArray = new ArrayList<Station>(); for(int i = 0; i < len; i++){ Station s = new Station(); String[] fields = mTempArray[i].split("[\t ]"); s.setValuesFromArray(fields); Log.i("ADD STATION", ""+s); mStationArray.add(s); } XML is in the format of: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <resources> <array name="stations"> <item> <name>Station name</name> <longitude>1111111</longitude> <latitude>11111</latitude> <code>1</code> </item> And another (possible) problem is that to get just one station I have to get all of them and pull the one I want from the array. Is this going to be considerably slower? Can I make this array consistent throughout the app? (But keeping the separate Intent methodology)

    I just finished the NotepadV1-3 tutorial for Android apps, and I was thinking of creating my own inventory app for fun, which for now basically consists of a list of names (such as "DVD" or "Grocery"), each of which can be clicked, which will bring up another specific list associated with that name. However, with the SQLiteDatabase.insert(..) method, the ContentValue can only take (among many others) "String, String" as argument, and I can't figure out how to input into the database a list of Strings associated with a particular key. I'm having trouble researching on how to resolve this as I am not that familiar with SQL. What would be the best way to store a key with its associated list of Strings? Any pointers and suggestions are appreciated! Android newb :[

    How do I clear the value from the stack of a s:iterator? I'm trying to iterator over a TreeMultimap with a structure like: TreeMultimap<person, lineItems> persons; Using something like: <s:iterator value="attendeesForParticipantTypeEvents.asMap()"> <div> <s:property value="key.name" /><br /> <s:iterator id="currentSku" value="value"> <s:property value="currentSku.name" /><br /> </s:iterator> </div> </s:iterator> This works fine, except when the treeMultimap has null for lineItems, then it's taking the value from the previous iteration. So, a structure like: persons = {{"Person1",["Line1","line2"]}, {"Person2",["Line3","line4"]}, {"Person2",null}} Renders as: <div> Person1<br /> Line1<br /> Line2<br /> </div> <div> Person2<br /> Line3<br /> Line4<br /> </div> <div> Person3<br /> Line3<br /> Line4<br /> </div> Which seems to indicate that the value isn't being cleared on each iterator.     For eg, my input XML is look like this. <root> <myelemt> <input type="variable"> <variable>STARTDATE</variable> <variable>CUSTOMERNAME</variable> </input> </myelemt> </root> it is deserialized and loaded into the object MyXmlElemtObj in my code i have written like this, if(MyXmlElemtObj.input.variable.ToUpper() == "STARTDATE") ProcessObjectB(ObjectA.OrderDate); if(MyXmlElemtObj.input.variable.ToUpper() == "CUSTOMERNAME") ProcessObjectB(ObjectC.UserName); Here I am mapping those input literals to some objects value. The one thing that scares me is seeing some ** hard-coded literals** all over my code. Instead i would like to write something like ProcessObjectB(Common.GetMappedvalue(MyXmlElemtObj.input.variable)); Is there a way to isolate this mapping thing to common class, where i will predefine which literal is mapped to which values. The problem is the values are of objects created at the run time. If my question is making sense then So how do i achieve this?     I've saved a response from an outside server to a text file, so I don't need to keep running connection requests. Instead, perhaps I can use the text file for my manipulation purposes, until I'm read for re-connecting again. Say I wanted to do an operation like: take an array [1,2,3] multiply each element by 2 (map): [2,4,6] add the elements together (reduce): 12 multiply the result by 10: 120 I can do this pretty cleanly in underscore using chaining, like so: arr = [1,2,3] map = (el) -> 2*el reduce = (s,n) -> s+n out = (r) -> 10*r reduced = _.chain(arr).map(map).reduce(reduce).value() result = out(reduced) However, it would be even nicer if I could chain the 'out' method too, like this: result = _.chain(arr).map(map).reduce(reduce).out(out).value() Now this would be a fairly simple addition to a library like underscore. But my questions are: Does this 'out' method have a name in functional programming? Does this already exist in underscore (tap comes close, but not quite).

  • Map a struts2 action result to a controller instead of a jsp

    Hello, I'm working on on a site built using struts2. The vast majority of our targets generate xml, so mapping the result to a jsp page makes sense. A couple of our targets actually generated binaries. I'm wondering if there is a convenient way to say that the result should come from a servlet/controller instead of a jsp. Obviously this could be done by modifying the web.xml so the struts filter doesn't apply to those targets and mapping those targets as servlets, but this is non-ideal. Currently, the struts filter applies to the entire site, and we would like to keep it that way. Ideas? Thanks!

    I am trying to push elements to an array. for (a=0; a < test.length; a++){ if(this.testnumber != test[a].number){ //it will only loop 8 times under conditional statement group = { title: test.Title , ID: test.ID, contents: [] }; this.company.push(group); this.testnumber = test.number[a]; } //outside of if conditional statement.. it will loop 15 times //i want every test[a].conetents get pushed to group.contents array. //this.company is the final variable I need for this function... group.contents.push(test[a].contents); } However, when I do console.log(this.company); I see 8 elmements with only 1 element in each group.contents array The ideal situation is to have 8 elements with 2 to 3 elements in the group.contents array I hope I explain my situation well. How should be my mappings in this case ? Should I use References or HasOne ? Someone could give an example ?     I have a requirement for the project I'm working on right now which is proving a bit tricky for me. Basically I have to sort an array of items based on the Text property of those items: Here are my items: var answers = [], answer1 = { Id: 1, Text: '3-4 weeks ago' }, answer2 = { Id: 2, Text: '1-2 weeks ago' }, answer3 = { Id: 3, Text: '7-8 weeks ago' }, answer4 = { Id: 4, Text: '5-6 weeks ago' }, answer5 = { Id: 5, Text: '1-2 days ago' }, answer6 = { Id: 6, Text: 'More than 1 month ago' }; answers.push(answer1); answers.push(answer2); answers.push(answer3); answers.push(answer4); answers.push(answer5); answers.push(answer6); I need to analyse the Text property of each item so that, after the sorting, the array looks like this: answers[0] = { Id: 6, Text: 'More than 1 month ago' } answers[1] = { Id: 3, Text: '7-8 weeks ago' } answers[2] = { Id: 4, Text: '5-6 weeks ago' } answers[3] = { Id: 1, Text: '3-4 weeks ago' } answers[4] = { Id: 2, Text: '1-2 weeks ago' } answers[5] = { Id: 5, Text: '1-2 days ago' } The logic is that, the furthest away the date, the more high priority it is, so it should appear first in the array. So "1-2 days" is less of a priority then "7-8 weeks". So the logic is that, I need to extract the number values, and then the units (e.g. days, weeks) and somehow sort the array based on those details. Quite honestly I'm finding it very difficult to come up with a solution, and I'd appreciate any help.

    Hi , I am working on extracting Parts Of speech (POS) using xml documents and I have a englishPCFG.ser.gz file which is used in extracting POS on xml files. I cannot send this .gz file as input in HDFS directory, but my program uses it for parsing xml files. The file is in my local directory. I am getting "File Not Found" error when I run my mapreduce program. How can i make it available to mapper? I tried placing the file in HDFS where my xml files are present. I also tried adding it in .jar along with class files but not luck. I tried to change the hdfs-default.xml with entry to local directory, still doesnt work. Please let me know how to make mapper read this file? Thank you,

  • C# struct with an array

    I am making a game using C# with the XNA framework. The player is a 2D soldier on screen and the user is able to fire bullets. The bullets are stored in an array. I have looked into using Lists and arrays for this and I came to the conclusion that an array is a lot better for me, as there will be a lot of bullets firing and being destroyed at once, something that I read Lists don't handle so well. After reading through some posts on the XNA forums, this came to my attention: http://forums.xna.com/forums/p/16037/84353.aspx I have created a struct like so: // Bullets struct Bullet { Vector2 Position; Vector2 Velocity; float Rotation; Rectangle BoundingRect; bool Active; } And I made the array like this: Bullet[] bulletCollection = new Bullet[100]; But when I try to do some code like this: // Fire bullet if (mouseState.LeftButton == ButtonState.Pressed) { for (int i = 0; i < bulletCollection.Length; i++) { if (!bulletCollection[i].Active) { // something } } I get the following error: 'Zombie_Apocalypse.Game1.Bullet.Active' is inaccessible due to its protection level Can anyone lend a hand? I have no idea why this error is popping up, or even if I'm declaring the array properly or anything... as the post on the XNA forums doesn't go into detail about that. Thank you for any help you can provide. :)
