I have subscribed to DNR TV in iTunes, but it won't download episodes (audio podcasts work fine). Am I missing something? I added this URL in iTunes: http://feeds.feedburner.com/DnrtvWmv
I created some SVG drawings using Inkscape on my Ubuntu. I now want to edit the SVGs using Inkscape running on Windows 7.
The problem: the drawings has text formatted with Courier 10 Pitch font which is missing from my Windows system. Hence, the text is formatted using another font, which messes everything up.
How can I get this font for Windows?
Or perhaps I can make Inkscape embed the font in the SVG from Ubuntu?
I'm kinda confused.
I've installed Xen on a fresh/clean ubuntu 10.10 server (x64) using :
hg clone xen-4.0-testing.hg
make world
make install-kernels
Trying to launch qemu; first "not found"
Then I installed from source (from tarballs at qemu.org)
But then qemu complains about not finding /dev/kvm
Am I missing something here ? I thought that qemu was part of xen install (at least it was from 3.x series). All i have is qemu-img-xen and qemu-nbd-xen.
I'm trying to make jkdownloader work in windows 7 but problems just pops one after the other. Missing .dll files and .ocx files it said. Do you know of any other app that can do this. Just pasting the links on the app and it will automatically download the files
I have 2 HDs in my machine:
Drive 1 with grub and my Windows XP OS
Drive 2 with only Ubuntu 9.04
I would like to be able to boot directly from drive 2. I am missing grub on drive 2... how do I add it?
EDIT: I ended up reinstalling the whole OS.
The question describes everything, how does allmyapps work? With a single click (like iPhone app store), you click on install and my system asks me "DO you want to install?"
In contrast to regular installation, we 1st download the .exe or .deb and install it.
So, how is it possible via web?
I think, I am missing out on something very basic, but can some one please explain.
I'm trying to figure out the differences(pros/cons) between two routing protocols approach and I would be great-full for any help, advice and explanation. As far I can say that it seems like distance vector is more static and more local based routing, since it doesn't know the network state whereas link state is more aware of current states therefore it seems more natural to use it over distance-vector, but I have a feeling like I'm missing something. And I would be glad to here about more aspects and different issues I have to consider while choosing one of them.
I cannot ssh in (using putty) when I use 10.0.1.31 as the address.
database server - wired switch part of Asus wireless router - office LAN
So basically, we want to ssh in to the database server from our computer on the wired office LAN. Asus router has an ip of 10.0.1.31 and database server has a static IP of 192.168.0.20
I set up port forwarding like this:
ssh 22 192.168.0.20 22 BOTH
Firewall is turned completely off.
Any other settings I'm missing?
I kept my passwords recorded but the location on my PC where I kept this went missing. I now can't get into Windows Server 2008 R2 as I can't remember the administrator or named account credentials and have no password reset disk. This is on a VM (VM Player - which btw is temp till I get Hyper-V).
How can I get back in? If I make AD can I join the server to AD and then set a domain account?
This is the setup I have working for mydomain.org:
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost
ServerName mydomain.org
ServerAlias *.mydomain.org
DocumentRoot /var/www/
</VirtualHost>
If I request www.mydomain.org, apache throws a 403 with the following appended to the log:
(13)Permission denied: /root/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable
I've tried changing ServerName to www.mydomain.org, and changing ServerAlias to www.mydomain.org as well with no luck.
What am I missing?
Don't know if this question is appropriate here.
I created an Alias directed to the root folder of the website (right now running on localhost). In the root folder, I have a custom 404 page, and I've added a .htaccess file in that folder with the "ErrorDocument 404 /404.html" line, but it still doesn't work.
I'm pretty new to this stuff (web servers), so I must be missing something obvious. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I'm trying to fetch the VNC access data from a virtual machine managed by libVirt. However, when I run virsh dumpxml $machine, the vnc passwd is missing:
<graphics type='vnc' port='-1' autoport='yes'/>
Checking the same using virsh edit $machine, I see the password is actually there:
<graphics type='vnc' port='-1' autoport='yes' passwd='asdf'/>
Why is this? Is this intentional (what reason?), or could this be a bug?
Specifically, I'm trying to install NERDtree. I downloaded the 4.10 package from github, unzipped it into ~/.vim/, and restarted MacVim (version 7.3).
Typing :nerdtree results in the following error:
E492: Not an editor command: nerdtree
In terminal, typing:
cd ~/.vim
ls -R
Results in:
Rakefile doc nerdtree_plugin plugin
./doc:
NERD_tree.txt
./nerdtree_plugin:
exec_menuitem.vim fs_menu.vim
./plugin:
NERD_tree.vim
What am I missing?
I run a browser-based game and as part of a page with a bunch of game statistics, I have the server uptime listed. It's currently at 177 days and so someone mentioned to me that I shouldn't do this because a long uptime indicates the kernel is old and therefore missing security updates.
This certainly sounds logical, but I searched around and couldn't find any evidence to support it. So I'm just wondering, is this indeed something I should not have exposed?
I have a Virtual Server with 1GB of RAM. When i start glassfish with asadmin start-domain it instantly allocates all available memory, although i defined -Xmx128m in my domain.xml. Am I missing an option here? How can I prevent glassfish from using all free memory?
I recently registered a .me domain through GoDaddy. I set the nameservers to my slicehost servers immediately, and that change has been reflected in the .me WHOIS since day one. However, after almost two weeks, still can't look up the site. Is there something specific to .me domains or slicehost that I'm missing?
We are running oracle 10g.yesterday we had to reset sysman(and all other sys acounts)user with alter user command.
Password change command worked by oracle enterprise manager does not see the database running. As per oracle docs,we did change the password(and encryption setting) and restarted the dbconsole service. Password does get encrypted after restarted but em still does not see the database online.
Are we missing any other important step?
Thanks
Aboxy
I am not able to establish a wired network connection between two computers on which I just installed Ubuntu 10.04.
I am new to this environment. Unlike in the Windows environment, where it happens by just connecting them with a cable, Ubuntu keeps flashing a notification saying "Wired network disconnected". Am I missing a driver or something?
I am able to connect to the wi-fi router without issue. The wired connection is just not working.
I'm looking for a mouse gestures program for Windows (including XP). I've seen gMote and StrokeIt, both pretty good, but they're both missing one thing: support for Rocker Gestures.
If you don't know it, a Rocker gesture is just holding your right mouse button, then clicking your left (and vice versa). StrokeIt, at least, supports Rocker gestures in one direction, but not the other.
Anybody know of a good program that has support for Rocker gestures?
Thanks
On my Dell Studio 15, the function keys, by default, do things like switch the radio on/off or change the brightness or sound. To use them as function keys I have to hold down the Fn modifier.
I use function keys as function keys a lot more often than I want to change the volume or brightness.
Am I missing an obvious setting somewhere in the control panel (Vista Uber Extreme Something)?
It seems either I am not looking in the right places or documentation is scarce.
Where to find an illustration of a typical Linux distro? Something to say that this is a kernel, these are the components, this is X11, GNOME, these are the components, etc.
I have been deciphering documents assuming you know what all these things are, and it seems I am missing something.
my shuffle feature has stopped operating correctly on my iphone 3g. have i inadvertantly selected a setting or pushed a touch button? also, the music progress bar at the top of the screen is now missing? what gives.
Now that self-healing cloud servers are becoming more and more popular, I am currently torn between the decision if I should setup a HAproxy failover for my VPS or if should save myself the trouble and just put my sites on a self-healing cloud server.
Does it still make sense to setup your own failover system (HAproxy + 2 or more servers for example) when self healing cloud seems like a practical solution? They seem to do the same job or am I missing something?
Is it true that a mongoDB configured as a replicaset (lets say two nodes + an arbiter) will always be slower than the same DB and server specs but configured as a Master?
I've run some tests and found out that for a fresh DB, RS is a little quicker than Master/Slave config but when the DB is getting bigger than ~100k records the latter is getting much snappier.
am I missing something here?
PS: I was testing it with mongoid driver for ruby.
I created a database link using database link.
create public database link REMOTEDB connect to REMOTEUSER identified by REMOTEPWD using 'REMOTEDB';
then i create a table in remote db like,
create table MYTABLE@REMOTEDB (name varchar2(20)));
It says, ORA-02021 DDL operations are not allowed on| a remote database..
Will this Not work on any cost, or am i just missing some permissions to create ?
