  • XElement Path Validation

    Hello, I am trying to validate Elements and Attributes exist in an XElement. Basically, I was wondering if anyone had a generic way to check if a give path is null. I don't have access to System.Xml.XPath (doing this for compact framework). Basically what I have is: <root value"1000"> <element1>test<element1> <element2>1<element2> .... <element30> <subElement1>stuff</subElement1> </element30> </root> Now I know you can "if this is null do this and that". But since there is upwards of 30 elements that can be under root, which are optional elements, I need a way to grab the value if it exists and convert it to the correct type (which I know) in a nice compact way. Any suggestions?

    When I have this, the div, which just has text in it, uses all the horizontal width it can, so there's trailing width after the text, which I can tell from the background color. errorElement: "div", errorPlacement: function(error, element) { error.insertBefore("#zzz"); When I use this, the width is the same as the text contained, but I cannot get each individual error (span) to be on a separate line via display: block. errorElement: "span", errorPlacement: function(error, element) { error.insertBefore("#zzz"); error.css("display", "block"); Is there another way to force a break on a span element?

I can get the uploads and saves to the database to work fine but it fails to valid email or check if the users selected a file to upload.     If I'm on a route alias such as /register and I have a form error and I render :new, is it possible for the path to be /register still? At the moment it is rendering /new I could do a redirect_to register_path but then I would lose the params? It's making the following test fail: Scenario: Try registering with a bad staff number Given I am on the registration page When I fill in "email" with "[email protected]" And I fill in "First Name" with "Kevin" And I fill in "last name" with "Monk" And I fill in "Employee Number" with "something barking123" And I press "Register" Then I should be on the registration page And I should see "Your employee ID number looks incorrect."

  • Preventing mouse emulation events (ie click) from touch events in Mobile Safari / iPhone using Javas

    In doing a single page Javascript app with interactive DOM elements I've found that the "mouseover-mousemove-mousedown-mouseup-click" sequence happens all in a bunch after the "touchstart-touchmove-touchend" sequence of events. I've also found that it is possible to prevent the "mouse*-click" events from happening by doing an "event.preventDefault()" during the touchstart event, but only then, and not during the touchmove and touchend. This is a strange design, because because it is not possible to know during the touchstart yet whether the user intents to drag or swipe or just tap/click on the item. I ended up setting up a "ignore_next_click" flag somewhere tied to a timestamp, but this is obviously not very clean. Does anybody know of a better way of doing this, or are we missing something? Note that while a "click" can be recognized as a "touchstart-touchend" sequence (ie no "touchmove"), there are certain things, such as keyboard input focus, that can only happen during a proper click event.

  • iPad: Mobile Safari, HTML5 <video>, and jquery transitions

    I'm building a simple proof-of-concept for an iPad-specific website that would use video transitions to bring users from section to section. For purposes of the proof of concept, each "section" is just an image with a semitransparent content text box positioned above it. There are just 2 sections, "home" and "contact", and they've got a transition video sandwiched between them via z-indexing. The idea for the proof of concept is that clicking on the "home" section causes it to disappear, followed by playback of the transition video, which (upon completion) disappears to reveal the "contact" section. Everything is working fine with this version of the demo on the iPad and on Safari for Windows and OS X. Here's the JS: var myVideo = document.getElementsByTagName('video')[0]; $('document').ready(function() { $('#home').click(function() { $(this).css('display','none'); myVideo.play(); myVideo.addEventListener('ended', function() { $('#transition').css('display','none'); }); }); }); What I'd like to do is use a jQuery fadeOut() effect to fade out the text box prior to starting the video when the "home" section is clicked. On the iPad, however, the text box fades out as expected and the home section disappears as well, but the video stubbornly refuses to start playing. Using java via dalvik JVM. im fretting over a decision to represent objects in a particular map. should i use an id based map (2 dimensional integer array) and place game logic in a separate function in the game engine, or create an object array (2 dimensional array of game objects) and store game logic within the class methods. i am thinking about the cost of object creation and garbage collection vs extensibility.

The reason is that I don't want users to see the warning that a given EXE is running and must be closed so that setup can continue. This works fine when the MSI passes through the UI sequence as the action is created in "InstallUISequence" table like in the tutorial. However, when the MSI is used silently (right-click and select repair or uninstall), then my custom action isn't executed of course. Where do I have to put my custom action so that it is executed immediately also when run silently? I tried adding it to "InstallExecuteSequence", but the 'app running' warning is still shown. I then tried lowering the sequence number of my custom action to 5, but this also didn't help. Note: I'm using Orca to modify an MSI generated from a Visual Studio setup project. I'm then using the transform file to apply it.

    Right now...the dateISO method is as follows: dateISO: function(value, element) { return this.optional(element) || /^\d{4}[\/-]\d{1,2}[\/-]\d{1,2}$/.test(value); }, but ive noticed that when a user enters something like 1991-99-99 it sees it as a "valid date" when it obviously is not. How would i change this code to have it check if the month is 01-12 and the date is 1-31?
