• Android Internet permission and Google Play filtering

  I added <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> to my manifest in order to have access to Internet, but this is not a main function of my app. So, I don't want to get filtered in Google Play because of this. There is no matching <uses-feature> for this, so my question is what do I need to add with required="false" to avoid filtering. I guess I could add <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.wifi" android:required="false" /> but what about mobile Internet (3G/4G), do I also need this? <uses-feature android:name="android.hardware.telephony" android:required="false"/> I want to know which filtering android.permission.INTERNET adds on Google Play, if it adds something.

• Cannot resolve view when view is in subdirectory

  We have a MVC 2.0 / c# 4.0 application that we develop visual studio. We have a part of the site (admin) that we have put in it's own sub directory and with its own routing rules: routes.Add("DomainRoute", new DomainRoute( ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["adminDomain"], // Domain with parameters "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "AdminPage", action = "Admin", id = "", isAdmin = true } We have all the views for the admin site inside an admin sub folder so that you get paths like: \views\admin\auth\login.aspx In the \controllers\admin\authController.aspx file I have a function called login: public ActionResult Login() { return View(); } This works just as it should, ie if i go admin.localhost\auth\login I go to the login page. But if I do a right click in visual studio and "go to view" i get an error "unable to go to matching view". Is there anyway to solve this?

• UNIX-style RegExp Replace running extremely slowly under windows. Help?

  I'm trying to run a unix regEXP on every log file in a 1.12 GB directory, then replace the matched pattern with ''. Test run on a 4 meg file is took about 10 minutes, but worked. Obviously something is murdering performance by several orders of magnitude. Find: ^(?!.*155[0-2][0-9]{4}\s.*).*$ -- NOTE: match any line NOT starting 152[0-2]NNNN where in is a number 0-9. Replace with: ''. Is there some justifiable reason for my regExp to take this long to replace matching text, or is the program I am using (this is windows / a program called "grepWin") most likely poorly optimized? • Why aren't operator conversions implicitly called for templated functions? (C++)

  I have the following code: template <class T> struct pointer { operator pointer<const T>() const; }; void f(pointer<const float>); template <typename U> void tf(pointer<const float>); void g() { pointer<float> ptr; f(ptr); tf(ptr); } When I compile the code with gcc 4.3.3 I get a message (aaa.cc:17: error: no matching function for call to ‘tf(pointer<float>&)’) indicating that the compiler called 'operator pointer<const T>' for the non-templated function f(), but didn't for the templated function tf(). Why and is there any workaround short of overloading tf() with a const and non-const version? Thanks in advance for any help.

But manually doing loaddata works fine does not when the db is empty. I do a dropdb, createdb a simple syncdb the try loaddata and it fails, same error. Any clue? Python version 2.6.5, Django 1.1.1

• Combining features from other projects in an ASP.NET MVC application

  Hello, I am writing an ASP.NET MVC application that combines a set of features from existing applications. The new application is suppose to use UI features and logic created (especially for this purpose) in the existing applications. For that reason I wanted to create in the existing applications some kind of a "blackbox" that I will be able to drop in my new application along with a matching connection string, and it will work independently, binding data on it's own. I thought about using partial views, but I am having trouble with passing the model data to it, since the controller of the new application should not know about the model of the existing applications. I can not use ASP.NET WebForms, since my application should be a "postback-less" application, and ASP.NET AJAX toolkit or frameworks alike are out of the question.   I'm using two tables. First (friendlist), which contains users who are on the list of friends and the other table (members) that contains the basic data of the users. Friendlist looks like: id | myid | date | user ----------------------------------------- 001 | 50624 | 2010-01-01 | 32009 002 | 41009 | 2010-05-05 | 50624 003 | 50624 | 2010-03-02 | 23007 The column "myid" contains members who added other users (those from column "user") to their frindlist. I want to get the list of all users that I have added to list and those who add me to their friendlist. In this example, if my id is 50624, the list would look like: | allfriends | --------------- 32009 41009 23007 Then I need to check all users from "allfriend" list with data from the table "members". I want to get only the users with status 1. The members table looks like: id | status | photo -------------------------------- 32009 | 0 | 1.jpg 41009 | 1 | 2.jpg 23007 | 1 | 3.jpg How this mysql query should look like? Thanks for any help.

• How do I view the CMake command line statement that Qt Creator executes?

  I'm attempting to debug a command line CMake failure. The same CMake file works in Qt Creator, with the arguments in the Qt Creator window matching what I have entered on the command line. This makes me think Qt Creator is adding some extra arguments, which makes sense since the generator drop down has several options that specify architecture and CMake version. Is there a way to get the CMake command that Qt Creator executed to produce the desired result, specifically the arguments passed to the CMake executable? I found one post that talks about viewing the CMakeCache files to do some forensics, but this only proves there are differences, it doesn't quickly show me what arguments to change.

• How to filter Delphi 2010 compiler output (hints)?

  I'm trying to get rid of some hints(*) the Delphi compiler emits. Browsing through the ToolsAPI I see a IOTAToolsFilter that looks like it might help me accomplish this through it's Notifier, but I'm not sure how to invoke this (through what xxxServices I can access the filter). Can anyone tell me if I´m on the right track here? Thanks! (*) In particular, H2365 about overridden methods not matching the case of the parent. Not so nice when you have about 5 million lines of active code with a slightly different code convention than Embarcadero's. We've been working without hints for months now, and we kinda miss 'm. :-)

• PHP/MySQL: Check if something 'belongs-to' something else?

  I have two tables: Stores and Items. The relationship is: Stores 1---* Items In PHP/MySQL what would be the best (fastest/simplest) way to check if a particular item belongs to a particular store. In other words given for example: $store_id = 1; $item_id = 12; I want to check if item 12 belongs to store 1 (and not some other store). I usually do a select on Items matching both the store_id and item_id and limit the results to 1. Then check how many rows (0 or 1) were returned with mysql_num_rows. Is there a better way? Update: Both tables have an "id" column. The Items table has a "store_id" column.

  Say I've got a list of lists. Say the inner list of three elements in size and looks like this: ['apple', 'fruit', 1.23] The outer list looks like this data = [['apple', 'fruit', 1.23], ['pear', 'fruit', 2.34], ['lettuce', 'vegetable', 3.45]] I want to iterate through the outer list and cull data for a temporary list only in the case that element 1 matches some keyword (aka: 'fruit'). So, if I'm matching fruit, I would end up with this: tempList = [('apple', 1.23), ('pear', 2.34)] This is one way to accomplish this: tempList = [] for i in data: if i[1] == 'fruit': tempList.append(i[0], i[2]) is there some 'Pythonic' way to do this in fewer lines?

• wordpress image showing up multiple times

  I am writing a wordpress theme, and have run into a fairly basic problem. By default, when you inset an image into the post, it displays that image at the size you specify, on both the homepage and the single post. I would like to have different sized images, displaying a thumbnail on the homepage, and a full sized image when you click through to the post. I am using wordpress 2.9's new thumbnail feature, which has created great thumbnails for the homepage. But now, I am stuck with a nice thumbnail next to a large photo (on the index/home page). On the single page, it is displaying correctly with just the large picture. Basically, I need to know how to tell wordpress to only display the large post image on the single page, not on the index. Also: I have used the timthumb script, but I think the answer is far more basic then needing plugins or scripts Thanks!

• PHP: $_POST array to XML file and display results.

  I'm creating a "Madlibs" page where visitors can create funny story things online. The original files are in XML format with the blanks enclosed in XML tags (Such as blablabla <PluralNoun></PluralNoun> blablabla <Verb></Verb> ). The form data is created using XSL and the results are saved using a $_POST array. How do I post the $_POST array between the matching XML tags and then display the result to the page? I'm sure it uses a "foreach" statement, but I'm just not familiar enough with PHP to figure out what functions to use. Any help would be great. Thanks, E

  I have a photo gallery I'm trying to set a picture as the cover for the album. I have a field cover_id in the albums table that has already been linked to the photos through the model. I'm passing the album_id and photo_id to the controller. I want to update the album.cover_id passed thru the params with the photo_id passed thru the params. Is there a way to do this or a way to make the link a form without having it look like or form or changing much of the CSS?

• ASP.NET: How can I properly redirect requests with 404 errors?

  Hi, I'd like my ASP.NET MVC application to redirect failed requests to matching action methods of a certain controller. This works fine on my development machine running Windows 7, but not on my production machine running Windows 2008 R2. I set up my web.config as follows: <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="/Error/ServerError/500"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="/Error/AccessDenied" /> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/Error/FileNotFound" /> </customErrors> This customErrors section works fine on both of my machines (production and development) for 500 Internal Server errors. It also works fine for 404 errors on my development machine. However, it does not properly redirect 404 errors on the production machine. Instead of /Error/FileNotFound, I get the standard 404 page that comes with IIS 7. What could be the problem here?

• How would you create a string of all UTF-8 characters? [PHP]

  There are many ways to represent the +1 million UTF-8 characters. Take the latin capital "A" with macron (A). This is unicode code point U+0100, hex number 0xc4 0x80, decimal number 196 128, and binary 11000100 10000000. I would like to create a collection of the first 65,535 UTF-8 characters for use in testing applications. These are all unicode characters up to code point U+FFFF (byte3). Is it possible to do something like a for($x=0) loop and then convert the resulting decimal to another base (like hex) which would allow the creation of the matching unicode character? I can create the value A using something like this: $char = "\xc4\x80"; // or $char = chr(196).chr(128); However, I am not sure how to turn this into an automated process. // fail! $char = "\x". dechex($a). • wordpress servlet mapping not working

  I have the latest wordpress running in tomcat 6.0.26 virtual host with Quercus Servlet php servlet. It works, except when I try to use perm links. A url such as /index.php/my-page-name doesn't seem to ever hit the php server. It gets a browser error that request resource is not available. It's like it isn't matching the servlet urlmapping. I'm using a standard method in the web.xml <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Quercus Servlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>*.php</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> I see nothing showing up either in the tomcat logs when I use that url above. Any ideas please?

• Laravel 4 - Using multiple paginators on one page

  I've been googling for this question but can't find any good answers. I found that there is a method called setPageName() for the paginator but it only works when used like Paginator::setPageName('page'). I looked up the paginator in the Laravel API (http://laravel.com/api/class-Illuminate.Pagination.Environment.html) and the method is a public function just like setBaseUrl which I am currently using like $albums->setBaseUrl('/album/'); for instance I want to have a Photo paginator (?photoPage=n) and a Comment paginator (?commentPage=n). Is there any way that I can use two paginators that use different page names in the URL on one page, or at least call the setPageName() method like setBaseUrl()?
