• Calculating Divergent Paths on Subtending Rings

  I need to calculate two paths from A to B in the following graph, with the constraint that the paths can't share any edges: hmm, okay, can't post images, here's a link. All edges have positive weights; for this example I think we can assume that they're equal. My naive approach is to use Djikstra's algorithm to calculate the first path, shown in the second graph in the above image. Then I remove the edges from the graph and try to calculate the second path, which fails. Is there a variation of Djikstra, Bellman-Ford (or anything else) that will calculate the paths shown in the third diagram above? (Without special knowledge and removal of the subtending link, is what I mean)

• HelpSpot to Fogbugz to HelpSpot integration

  Does anyone have a nice example of integration between HelpSpot and Fogbugz? We're using HelpSpot as our customer facing software and ticket management, and then if a developer needs to work on a ticket the data will be pushed to Fogbugz. Obviously we can use the Fogbugz push API that Userscape provides, but this only allows you to specify the title of the incident in Fogbugz. Ideally I want to share title, assigned to, category and status in a two-way integration. Do most people just use emails between the two programs, or has anyone come across a nice third party app?   How likely is a revision conflict when using an update handler? Should I concern myself with conflict-handling code when writing a robust update function? As described in Document Update Handlers, CouchDB 0.10 and later allows on-demand server-side document modification. Update handlers can process non-JSON formats; but the other major features are these: An HTTP front-end to arbitrarily complex document modification code Similar code needn't be written for all possible clients—a DRY architecture Execution is faster and less likely to hit a revision conflict I am unclear about the third point. Executing locally, the update handler will run much faster and with lower latency. But in situations with high contention, that does not guarantee a successful update. Or does the update handler guarantee a successful update?

• Cocoa Touch: Why doesn't UINavigationController render 'Back' button?

  When I push a view controller it animates properly and slides in, the only problem is that no 'Back' button is rendered up top.The back button is still there, I can still tap it, it just doesn't render on the screen. This behavior is identical in both the simulator and on multiple devices. Is this a known issue or bug? Using 3.1.3 of the iPhone SDK. More information: It renders it for further levels, just not on the second level of nav controller. So Main Page (No back button - OK). Second level page (back button, but doesn't render - not OK). Third level page (Back button there and rendering - OK).

• Aquamacs and IDLWAVE

  I've just installed the new Aquamacs 2.0 in my Mac Os X 10.6.3 and I'm an happy user of IDLWAVE on Aquamacs for programming in IDL. Unfortunately I run into a problem which I can't understand. I used in my configuration file to put the following (setq idlwave-surround-by-blank t) for the beautiful space around operator. This used to work till Aquamacs 2.0 preview b3 (third beta release) from that on, it stops to work and every time I type an operator (the same for '=' '<' '' etc) I got the following message Debugger entered--Lisp error: (void-variable idlwave-expand-equal) (lambda nil (interactive) (self-insert-command 1) idlwave-expand- equal -1 -1)() call-interactively((lambda nil (interactive) (self-insert-command 1) idlwave-expand-equal -1 -1) nil nil) Any help is welcommed

• BlackBerry project version number

  I have a BlackBerry Java project in Eclipse. It has version number written down in four different spots: in the project properties, under "BlackBerry Project Settings/General" in the JAD file, under MIDlet-1 in the JAD file, under MIDlet-Version in the ALX file, under <version> And they seem uncorrelated. Changing either of these affects none of the rest. The third one is what the users sees during over-the-air setup and under Options/Advanced. Questions - why do we need all these? Are there contexts where numbers 1, 2, 4 come up? It's my understanding that the ALX is generated during compilation - where does the version # come from? Is there a way to learn at least one of those programmatically (without signing the app)?

• Left Join not returning all rows

  I have this query in MySQL: SELECT pr.*, pr7.value AS `room_price_high` FROM `jos_hp_properties` pr LEFT OUTER JOIN `jos_hp_properties2` pr7 ON pr7.property=pr.id WHERE pr7.field=23 The jos_hp_properties table has 27 rows but the query only returns one. Based on this question I think it may be because of the WHERE clause. The jos_hp_properties2 table has fields id, property, field, value, where field is a foreign key to a third table (which I don't need to get data from). Is there a way to select all the rows from the first table, including the value from table #2 where the field is 23 (or NULL if there is no field 23)?

• How to monitor MySQL query errors, timeouts and logon attempts?

  While setting up a third party closed source CMS (Sitefinity) the setup doesn't create all tables and procedures necessary to run it. The software lacks a logging system itself and it made me wonder: could I trace and monitor failing SQL statements from MySQL? This serves more than only the purpose of solving my issue with Sitefinity. More often I wonder what's send to the MySQL server, not wanting to dive into the software products or setup a debugging environment etc. I tried JetProfiler (only performance) and looked through a few others, but although they monitor a lot, they don't monitor query failures, timeouts or logon attempts. Does anyone know a profiler, tracer, monitoring tool, commercial or free, that can show me this information?

  Hi to all, in this question i asked how to split text by whitespace, now i split it, but now i can't display this text in QTextEdit. I make so: QStringList list = line.split(QRegExp("\\s+")); for (int i = 0; i < list.count(); i++){ table.push_back(list[i]); this->ui->textEdit->setText(table[i]); //output text in qtextedit } But i see clean textedit after that. But if i make for example: this->ui->textEdit->setText(table[2]); I see third word in QTextEdit. What's wrong? Thank you.

• Fast way to perform addition of 2 LARGE float arrays in Android. Optional JNI or Opengl ES

  I simply need to add floatArray1 to floatArray2 storing the result in floatArray2.. no third array.. all arrays are one dimensional but are very large... probibly as large as the os will let me get away with. Max i would need is two float arrays with 40,000 floats each... but i could get away with 1/10th that i suppose minimum. Would love to do this in 1/30th or 1/60th of a second but that does not seem possible? Also if the code is JNI,NDK or OpenGL ES thats fine.. does android have an assembly language or like machine code i could use somehow?

• Codeigniter form action with slashes instead of normal GETs?

  Hey, so this is one of those questions that seems obvious, and I'm probably going to feel stupid, but here goes: I'm doing a CodeIgniter site with a search. Think of a Google type input, where you'd search for "white huskies." I have a search results page that takes a URI (MySite.com/dogs/white huskies), and takes the third part, and performs the search on that term. I'd like this to be done in the URI, and no by POST so my users can bookmark results. The problem I'm having is how to get that search button directed to Mysite.com/dogs/WHATEVER IS IN THE INPUT. How do I get the what is in the input part into the anchor href? I know I could do this with javascript, but I've heard it's bad practice to force people to have javascript for things this small.   There are many approaches when it goes about running untrusted code on typical CPU : sandboxes, fake-roots, virtualization... What about untrusted code for GPGPU (OpenCL,cuda or already compiled one) ? Assuming that memory on graphics card is cleared before running such third-party untrusted code, are there any security risks? What kind of risks? Any way to prevent them ? (Possible sandboxing on gpgpu or other technique?) P.S. I am more interested in gpu binary code level security rather than hight-level gpgpu programming language security (But those solutions are welcome as well). What I mean is that references to gpu opcodes (a.k.a machine code) are welcome.

• Question about the lifecycle of a simple Android application

  Hi, I've got a simple application with 3 activities: -the first contains a search box which calls a web service and show the results (restaurants) below in a listview -when a restaurant is clicked another activity is started showing the description of the restaurant and a button "show map" -when the button "show map" is clicked, guess what, the map is shown in a third activity. All the data is loaded in the first activity by a web service (restaurant descriptions and coordinates), and data required by each activity is passed in a bundle using "intent.putExtra". Now everything seems to run smoothly when clicking on the back button (eg. clicking on the back button from the map resumes the "restaurant description" activity with all data set properly), while I haven't done anything about the lifecycle yet. Why? Are all variables saved automatically? Should I use onSaveInstanceState() and onRestoreInstanceState() anyway? Thanks Jul

• jQuery Tablesorter - disabled headers show progress bar, sortEnd never triggered

  I'm combining Tablesorter's 'disable headers using options' function and the 'trigger sortStart / sortEnd' function and have run into an issue.   I need an editor that outputs clean HTML, and preferably strict XHTML with CSS, as I am going to display the resulting pages as help pages in a java application using xhmtlrenderer ("Flying Saucer") which apparently very much prefers XHTML with CSS 2.1. Having searched stackoverflow for HTML editor and XHTML editor, I've found several mentioned. Aptana is one, Eclipse's Web Tools is another, and KompoZer is a third. I am going to try these out. With this question, I ask whether there are other good options that would satisfy my requirements, and if there are any one of these mentioned or new ones that you'd recommend in particular, that I should focus a bit extra on?

• xquery expression to return a link text only if it contains within it a specific string

  I want to extract some links from a XML document (links are in same format as on html pages). Now for eg a link is "http://xyz.com/start/tyu/a.html" and another is "http://ert.com/tyu/b.html" while a third link is "http://asdf.com/ghjk/c.html" From the above 3 links (which I have with me using a for clause in a FLWOR expression)...I want only the links which contain within them a string "tyu" to be selected-- I thought of using substring for this, but substring requires start and end positions to be specified- whereas in my scenario, I dont know at which position the desired string will be. How do I do substring matching in such a scenario, i.e. where exact position for occurrence of substring, is not known? I can use XQuery 1.0 for this purpose. Finally, I want to extract the link URL, as well as link text...

• What is the maximum number of controls that a VBA form can hold?

  I'm currently building an Excel 2003 app that requires a horribly complex form and am worried about limitations on the number of controls. It currently has 154 controls (counted using Me.Controls.Count - this should be accurate, right?) but is probably only about a third complete. The workflow really fits a single form, but I guess I can split it up if I really have to. I see evidence in a Google search that VB6 (this usually includes VBA) has a hard limit of 254 controls in a form. However, I created a dummy form with well over 1200 controls which still loaded and appeared to work just fine. I did get some 'out of memory' errors when trying to add specific combinations of controls though, say 800 buttons and 150 labels, leading me to think that any limit might be affected by the memory requirements of each type of control. Does anyone have any information that might help ensure that I or, more importantly, other users with differing environments don't run into any memory issues with such a large form?

• Eliminating matching values in a SQL result set

  I have a table with a list of transactions (invoices and credits) and I need to get a list of all the rows where the invoices and credits don't match up. eg user product value bill ThingA 200 jim ThingA -200 sue ThingB 100 liz ThingC 50 I only want to see the third and fourth rows, as the values of the others match off. I can do this if I select product, sum(value) ... group by product having sum(value) < 0 which works well, but I want to return the user name as well. As soon as I add the user to the select, I need to group by it as well, which messes it up as the amounts don't match up by user AND product. Any ideas ? I am using MS SQL 2000... Cheers

  I recently discover the LLVM (low level virtual machine) project, and from what I have heard It can be used to performed static analysis on a source code. I would like to know if it is possible to extract the different function call through function pointer (find the caller function and the callee function) in a program. I could find the kind of information in the website so it would be really helpful if you could tell me if such an library already exist in LLVM or can you point me to the good direction on how to build it myself (existing source code, reference, tutorial, example...). EDIT: With my analysis I actually want to extract caller/callee function call. In the case of a function pointer, I would like to return a set of possible callee. both caller and callee must be define in the source code (this does not include third party function in a library).

• MySQL import in phpmyadmin (CSV) chokes on quotes

  I am trying to import a .csv file into a MySQL table via phpMyAdmin. The .csv file is separated by pipes, formated like this: data|d'ata|d'a"ta|dat"a| data|"da"ta|data|da't'a| dat'a|data|da"ta"|da'ta| The data contains quotes. I have no control over the format in which I recieve the data -- it is generated by a third party. The problem comes when there is a | followed by a double quote. I always get an "invalid field count in CSV input on line N" error. I am uploading the file from the import page, using Latin1, CSV, terminated by |, separated by ". I would like to just change the "enclosed by" character, but I keep getting "Invalid parameter for CSV import: Fields enclosed by". I have tried various characters with no success. How can I tell MySQL to accept this format in phpMyAdmin? Setting up these tables is the first step in writing a program that will use uploaded gzipped .csv files to maintain the catalog of an e-commerce site.

• Flash upload problems (FileReferenceList, timeouts, #2038 )

  Hello! I'm having problems with timeouts while trying to upload multiple files by using FileReferenceList. upload() is being called in a loop for all selected files on Event.SELECT event of FileReferenceList, but only 2 files are being uploaded simultaneously (I also see 2 opened sockets that are used for uploading by running netstat -aon | find "127.0.0.1:80"). If uploading of any file is not started in 60 seconds, I get a #2038 error. E.g., if I try to upload three large files (like 500MB each), first two uploads are started immediately, third one is not started (because limit is 2 simultaneous uploads) and it fails after 60 seconds with #2038 error (I'm fairly sure that this is because of timeout - tested it). This could be solved by calling upload() only when uploading previous file is completed, but I don't want to "hard-code" the number of possible simultaneous uploads (2 on my PC). Is there any way to get/set this number at runtime?

• Windows command line compression/extraction tool?

  I need to write a batch file to unzip files to their current folder from a given root folder. Folder 0 |----- Folder 1 | |----- File1.zip | |----- File2.zip | |----- File3.zip | |----- Folder 2 | |----- File4.zip | |----- Folder 3 |----- File5.zip |----- FileN.zip So, I wish that my batch file is launched like so: ocd.bat /d="Folder 0" Then, make it iterate from within the batch file through all of the subfolders to unzip the files exactly where the .zip files are located. So here's my question: Does the Windows (from XP at least) have a command line for its embedded zip tool? Otherwise, shall I stick to another third-party util?
