  A friend of mine told me there was a way to connect two private IPs without using a proxy server. The idea was that both computers connected to a public server and some how the server joined the private connections and won't use any more bandwidth. Is this true? How's this technique named?   I have always wondered how Facebook designed the friend <- user relation. I figure the user table is something like this: user_email PK user_id PK password I figure the table with user's data (sex, age etc connected via user email I would assume). How does it connect all the friends to this user? Something like this? user_id friend_id_1 friend_id_2 friend_id_3 friend_id_N Probably not. Because the number of users is unknown and will expand.

  We have many computers connected to a AD. The computers names is auto generated. When I want to log in using a local account, I have to figure out what the computer's name is, and log in using the following syntax: [COMPUTER_NAME]\local_account Now I'm wondering if there is an alias that I can use instead? So instead of logging in using NB-aw35sdds\local_account, I can use something like localhost\local_account.

• Local help not working in Visual Studio 2005

  The local help in Visual Studio 2005 never comes back with anything. Also, if I'm not connected to the Internet, of course I get nothing. When I run dexplore eventually it takes 100% of cpu. Also, the F1 help doesn't work (of course). I've repaired both VS 2005, MSDN in other orders. Any help will be appreciated! THanks -tim

  Hi, Once I have successfully connected to the database, i have a line that must insert values. mysqli_query($edb, "INSERT INTO elvis_table (name,email) VALUES ('$name','$email')" ) or die('Error querying database.'); It works fine on my computer ( xampp ), but once I upload it onto a server, it starts giving an error. Yes, I have a database with a corresponding table and fields on a server, it connects to the database fine, but gives an error on this line... Thanks!

  Hi, I've just installed a fresh copy of SQL 2008 Express. before I did anything I opened Management Studio and successfully connected using Window Authentication. However I tried to run the following on the command line "telnet localhost 1433" and got the error "Could not open connection to the host, on port 1433: Connect failed" I checked netstat and there is nothing listening on port 1433.
