In Windows Vista, the application cannot locate the mqrt.dll which is found at C:\Windows\winsxscd x86_microsoft-windows-msmq-runtime-core_31bf3856ad364e35_6. 0.6002.18005_none_574cf1cdb624ee17\mqrt.dll. • Adding empty string to RadComboBox

  Guys, I have a webpage that has a Telerik RadComboBox on the page. One of the properties of this ComboBox is EmptyMessage, which fills the combobox with a message when an item is not selected. I am binding my combobox to a datasource at runtime and for some reason, it wipes this EmptyMessage away. Is there a way to keep my data items in tact and have the empty message there too? And default it to the empty message?

  In the example below: I start program, type text, click button, see text above. Press ENTER see text again. BUT: I start program, type text, press ENTER, see no text. It seems that the KeyDown event doesn't get access to the current value of the bound variable, as if it is always "one behind". What do I have to change so that when I press ENTER I have access to the value that is in the textbox so I can add it to the chat window?   I'm binding a GridView to an LINQ query. Some of the fields in the objects created by the LINQ statement are strings, and need to contain new lines. Apparently, GridView HTML-encodes everything in each cell, so I can't insert a <br /> to create a new line within a cell. How do I tell GridView not to HTML encode the contents of cells? Maybe I should use a different control instead?

  In my program I need to create sockets and bind them to listen HTTP port (80). The program works fine when I launch it from command line with sudo, escalating permissions to root. Running under XCode gives a 'permission denied' error on the call to binding function (asio::ip::tcp::acceptor::bind()). How can I do debugging under XCode? I have read that net.tcp binding in Silverlight 4 only supports transport level reliability. With a WPF desktop app we can use message level reliability. What is the actual difference? If transport level reliability ensures that all TCP packets get through, doesnt that also mean that all WCF SOAP messages will also get through?

• PartialResultException when authenticating over LDAP with Acegi and Grails

  I'm trying to setup our new Grails application to authenticate via LDAP. From the logs we can see that Acegi is binding to the LDAP store, then is able to find the user given the correct credentials, and finally begins searching for roles. The authentication fails due to a PartialResultException. I'm aware that the default LDAP provider in Acegi has an option to ignore PartialResultExceptions, but I'm not exactly sure how to turn that on in Grails.

• Silverlight Dataform validation doesn't work

  Hi I can't get dataform and it's controls to catch exceptions when validating. Fir instance, I have: <PasswordBox Password="{Binding Password,Mode=TwoWay,NotifyOnValidationError=true,ValidatesOnExceptions=true}" /> All required properties are set to true. In the setter of my Password property I throw a ValidationException upon failed validation, but the data form doesn't catch it, it just causes the application to crash as if it were a normal exception. • "Wrapping" a BindingList<T> propertry with a List<T> property for serialization.

  I'm writing an app that allows users search and browse catalogs of widgets. My WidgetCatalog class is serialized and deserialized to and from XML files using DataContractSerializer. My app is working now but I think I can make the code a lot more efficient if I started taking advantage of data binding rather then doing everything manually. Here's a stripped down version of my current WidgetCatalog class. [DataContract(Name = "WidgetCatalog")] class WidgetCatalog { [DataContract(Name = "Name")] public string Name { get; set; } [DataContract(Name = "Widgets")] public List<Widget> Widgets { get; set; } } I had to write a lot of extra code to keep my UI in sync when widgets are added or removed from a catalog, or their internal properties change. I'm pretty inexperienced with data-binding, but I think I want a BindingList<Widget> rather than a plain old List<Widget>. Is this right? In the past when I had similar needs I found that BindingList<T> does not serialize very well. Or at least the Event Handers between the items and the list are not serialized. I was using XmlSerializer though, and DataContractSerializer may work better. So I'm thinking of doing something like the code below.   For my first Silverlight app, I've written a program that sends user-supplied search strings to the Flickr REST API and displays the results in a DataGrid. The first column contains the title of the photo, while the second contains the text 'Click here to show image'. Clicking on the image thus revealed hides it again. All of this was easy to implement and works perfectly. But whenever I click on one of the column headers to sort by that column, the cells that I've updated in this way do not change. The rest of the DataGrid is resorted and updated appropriately, but those cells remain behind, detached from the rest of their row. This is very strange, and not at all what I want. What am I doing wrong? Should I be freshening the DataGrid somehow in response to the sort event, and if so how? Or if I'm not supposed to be messing with the contents of the grid directly, what's the right way to get the behavior I want?

Here is what I came up with. Up to this point it works as intended. The object has a number of Properties like ID, Name. If I click on the button in the ListBoxItem the Item should be erased from the ListBox and also from the database... <ListBox x:Name="taglistBox"> <ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment" Value="Stretch"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="ListBoxItem"> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Setter Property="Tag" Value="{Binding TagSelf}"></Setter> </Style> </ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Button Grid.Column="0" Name="btTag" VerticalAlignment="Center" Click="btTag_Click" HorizontalAlignment="Left"> <Image Width="16" Height="16" Source="/WpfApplication1;component/Resources/104.png"/> </Button> <TextBlock Name="tbtagBoxTagItem" Margin="5" Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding Name}" VerticalAlignment="Center" /> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> The Textblock.Text is bound to object.Name and the ListBoxItem.Tag to object.TagSelf (which is just a copy of the object itself). Now my questions If I click the button in the listboxItem how do I get the listboxitem and the object bound to it back. In order to delete the object from the database I have to retrieve it somehow. I tried something like ListBoxItem lbi1 = (ListBoxItem)(taglistBox.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(taglistBox.Items.CurrentItem)); ObjectInQuestion t = (ObjectInQuestion) lbi1.Tag; Is there a way to automatically update the contents of the ListBox if the Itemssource changes? Right now I'm achieving that by taglistBox.ItemsSource = null; taglistBox.ItemsSource = ObjectInQuestion; I'd appreciate any help you can give :D Thanks in advance
