• WPF StringFormat={0:C} showing as dollars

  Why does this line of code <TextBlock Text="{Binding Net, StringFormat=c}"/> Output the result as $xx.xx when all my regional settings are set to UK. I expect it to output it as £xx.xx. Any ideas? I have tried different variations of the stringformat including StringFormat={}{0:C} but still get the same result. Thanks for looking.

• How to repackage NVIDIA .run drivers into .deb with DKMS

  At present, Ubuntu offers the 195.36.24 drivers as nvidia-current in their repository. This packaged driver is pretty cool as it uses DKMS so you don't have to keep reinstalling the driver after a new kernel version. The NVIDIA .run package drivers are at version 257 (beta) but they don't use DKMS so the graphics screws up every time a new kernel is installed and you don't reinstall the driver. How can I modify the .run to use DKMS and even better, package it as a deb package?

  Hi Wayne :) I want to use HttpServer, which you mentioned, and I think is cool to do comet/cometd. I am wondering how tough it is to do it so that I can take the waiting connections off the thread and into some waiting queue. Also, am I correct in that it looks like it is using nio?   I am trying to read an excel 2007 file (using OLEDB) that has dates in the UK format. The server is (sometimes) set to US format and so the normal date format problems are in play. This is my connection string: Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=myfile.xlsx;Extended Properties="Excel 12.0 Xml;HDR=NO;IMEX=1" I want to ensure that the file is always opened using the en-GB culture. Is there a way to specify the culture using the connection string?

• Div overflow not hidden properly

  Hi guys, I'm working on this site - http://dev.chriscurddesign.co.uk/mayday It works in everything other than IE7 and IE8 in compatibility mode (don't care about IE6), where the vacancies lists on the right aren't hidden correctly by their parent overflow property. I have been pulling my hair out trying to get to the bottom of this, its driving me up the wall, anyone got any ideas whatsoever? • Sharepoint calculated Date field shows incorrectly in non-US region

  If a SharePoint user (with Regional Settings set to UK) views a calculated date field in a View details form, the field shows incorrectly showing the date is in US format, thus 01-Apr-2010 for 03-Jan-2010, and doesnt show unresolvalble dates such as 31-Dec-2010. This applies even with a simnple =[Modified] formula The Server is set up in the US for that locale. Does anyone know of a workaround for this or if there is a patch available ? Thanks in advance..

  Are Delphi/Pascal being taught in any high schools/colleges/universities, particularly in Canada and the US? I was surprised how many schools in the UK are teaching Delphi. Their largest exam board is even dropping PHP/C#/C in 2011 and encouraging Delphi. I also remember that CodeGear was going to provide development tool licenses to Russian schools a couple of years ago. I'd like to know if it's being taught closer to (my) home.
