  Tengo un servidor con 8GB de RAM de 32 bits, instale windows server 2003 enterprise y sql server 2005 enterprise, el Sistema Operativo reconoce los 8GB, pero el Sql Server solo usaba 1.6 GB de memoria, entonces agregue al boot.ini el parametro /PAE y en Sql Server le habilite AWE de 1GB a 5GB, despues de reiniciar el servidor el Sistema que usa la BD estaba mas rapido mejoro bastante, pero en memoria el Sql Server solo usa 100 MB, veo la cantidad de memoria usada en el Administrador de Tareas de Windows, y no se si esta funcionando AWE o que sucedio?   Hi, i have a litle problem if i create a dynamically IFRAME element and i agregate dynamically elements to the new iframe.   Hi, I have the following line of code that works fine in Firefox, Chrome and Safari, but not in internet explorer 8. <a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="showHide('reading','type_r','r');">Show me the example</a> The function simply shows and hides a div on clicking the hyperlink. Is there anything I'm missing here?   Hi guys, I have a PHP form validation function that I developed in chrome and now will not work in firefox or Opera. The function checks to see if a section of the form is blank and shows and error message.   Greetings and Hello I am trying to put together a wordpress site, now because the content in the main div is going to be a different height with every page I need the navigation sidebar to stretch to the same height. So with a little javascript tom-foolery I can get the sidebar to be the same height with the following code function adjust(){ hgt=document.getElementById('content').offsetHeight; document.getElementById('sidebar').style.height=hgt+'px'; } window.onload=adjust; window.onresize=adjust; Now that's all good for a long page but if the content is smaller then the sidebar stuff gets all messy. • Is it possible to use Google Docs Viewer to view files already in Google Docs?

  The title is a little confusing. I'll elaborate. As far as I can tell, the Google Docs Viewer tool accepts a link to a raw document file (e.g. .doc, .pdf, et. al.), and renders its contents in the browser. For example, this url to a pdf http://research.google.com/archive/bigtable-osdi06.pdf when passed to Viewer, returns this link: http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fresearch.google.com%2Farchive%2Fbigtable-osdi06.pdf What I'm trying to achieve is, use the Viewer to view a document already hosted in Google Docs (i.e. no longer a raw document file). When passing a link to a Google Docs document to the Viewer, the result is not as expected. It renders the link's HTML source instead of the document's contents. The reason I want to do this is that I want to be able to use the "embed" feature of Viewer to view Google Docs documents. Does Google Docs have a "link to embeddable view" feature? P.S. Here is a sample snippet to an embedded document. • Looking for resources to explain a security risk.

  I've a developer which has given users the ability to download a zip archive which contains an html document which references a relative javascript file and flash document. The flash document accepts as one of it's parameters a url which is embedded in the html document. I believe that this archive is meant to be used as a means to transfer an advertisement to someone who would use the source to display the ad on their site, however the end user appears to want to view it locally. When one opens the html document the flash document is presented and when the user clicks on the flash document it redirects to this embedded url. However, if one extracts the archive on the desktop and opens the html document in a browser and clicks the flash object, nothing observable happens, they will not be redirected to the external url. I believe this is a security risk because one is transferring from the local computer zone to an external zone. I'm trying to determine the best way to explain this security risk in the simplest of terms to a very end user. They simply believe it's "broken" when it's not broken, they're being protected from a known vulnerability. The developer attempted to explain how to copy the files to a local iis instance, which I highly doubt is running on the users machine, and I do not consider this to be a viable explanation.

  While learning JavaScript, I did not get why the output when we print the array returned of the Sting.split() method (with regular expression as an argument) is as explained below. var colorString = "red,blue,green,yellow"; var colors = colorString.split(/[^\,]+/); document.write(colors); //this print 7 times comma: ,,,,,,, However when I print individual element of the array colors, it prints an empty string, three commas and an empty string: document.write(colors[0]); //empty string document.write(colors[1]); //, document.write(colors[2]); //, document.write(colors[3]); //, document.write(colors[4]); //empty string document.write(colors[5]); //undefined document.write(colors[6]); //undefined Then, why printing the array directly gives seven commas. Though I think its correct to have three commas in the second output, I did not get why there is a starting (at index 0) and ending empty string (at index 4). Please explain I am screwed up here.

  Merry Christmas guys, I found a code that displays a loading message using a gif. It uses the onLoad="init()" in the body tag. It works fine on an HTML file but it doesn't when the file is in PHP. • Populate on demand a TreeView with datas in an XML

  Hi I have a large XML file (3000+ nodes) that I want to represent in a TreeView on ASP.NET. I cannot databind it to a XMLDataSource because loading the TreeView will then be way too slow (I never even waited long enough to see it finish...) So the solution for this would be to use the PopulateOnDemand property of the TreeNodes to load data only when needed. Problem is, I can't think of a way to acheive this... How can-I, based on the ID of a node, search a XMLDocument to get all the childnodes of the node having this ID? The problem is in IE8, I cannot delete checked rows from the table; whereas in other browsers such as FireFox3.6, Opera10, Safari4 and Chrome4, this action is all right. • Random Monday Thoughs

  On this Monday morning my thoughts center on why is it so hard to embrace governance, any form of governance for that matter, be it software development governance, SOA governance, data governance, IT governance, so on a so fourth?Most customers that I meet tend to think that they don't need don't need governance as all is good within the enterprise. The question I generally pose to colleges and customers, is you have to think of governance as an insurance policy. Take of instance, if you just bought a new car, perhaps your "dream" car, would you drive it on the open streets without having the car insured? Probably not.Governance is what insurance is to new cars, be it to SOA, IT transformations and software development. Governance is a insurance policy against risk of failure. Now once I put it in this context, ask yourself, does governance have value to your organization? Most people now get it. Once the seed of governance is planted at the executive level of an organization, it becomes a exercise in planting an that idea into key personnel within the organization. Then the justification for governance grows and grows across the enterprise.Thats my food for though in this Monday morning.FYI, stay tuned for an upcoming multi-part article on using Oracle Enterprise Repository to build a Enterprise Continuum as described in TOGAF v9.0.

• What's New in 5.6 RC and more from MySQL Connect conference

  Keeping with the tradition of great MySQL Community events, the first annual MySQL Connect conference is now in the books.  It was great to see so many familiar faces in the crowd and at the podium sharing their ideas and thoughts on the evolution of MySQL under Oracle. The headliner of the conference was Tomas' keynote announcement of the fully featured and fully enabled MySQL 5.6 Release Candidate.  This new article on the MySQL DevZone summarizes all of the great new features ready for Community adoption, all MySQL Engineering blogs and where and how to download all of the bits. As always, early adoption and feedback on the 5.6 RC is appreciated and the sooner we get your feedback the sooner we release the "ready for production" sanctioned GA product.    Also available now, Cluster 7.3 provides support for Foreign Keys, node.js NoSQL access to underlying data and a new Auto Installer that helps you quickly and easily get up and running with Cluster 7.2 and 7.3.  The 7.3 downloads are provided in the first 7.3 Development Milestone Release (under "Development Releases" tab) and via the MySQL Labs. Oracle also announced key new additions to MySQL Enterprise Edition: New policy-based compliance Auditing. MySQL Enterprise Edition Audit adds policy-based auditing compliance to existing MySQL applications without the need to change any code.  This new plugin is available for MySQL 5.5.28 and higher; existing MySQL Enterprise Edition customers can download the upgrade from the My Oracle Support portal and all can download for evaluation from Oracle's Software Delivery Cloud. New MySQL Enterprise High Available additions provide even more options for ensuring MySQL applications remain available and running a their peak: Oracle Linux + DRBD Oracle Solaris Clustering for MySQL All in all, the first MySQL Connect conference was a great success and with refinements planned in response to attendee, sponsor and speaker feedback we expect it to grow and improve going forward.
