• Which CMS for photo-blog website?

  I need to add photo-blog to a site that I'm recently working on. It is very simple site so the blog doesn't have to be very sophisticated. What I need is: a CMS that allows me to create simple blog-like news with one (or more) images at the beginning and some description/comment below. Preferably, I would like to create something that works like sites like these two: http://www.photoblog.com/dreamie or http://www.photoblog.pl/mending/ it must be customizable. I want to integrate it's look as much as possible with current page: http://saviorforest.tk preferably, it should provide some mechanizm for uploading and storing images at the server. I thought about wordpress, but it seems to be a little bit too complicated for such simple task. Do you know any simple and easy in use CMS that would work here?

  Just today morning I have read news that twitter has issued a warning to developers not to make any new third party client, the official announcement can be read here. As a programmer, how do you see this move of twitter? Does it seems that they want to standardize the behavior of third party client or they don't want any new client in favor of the default clients they have made? What if anybody wants to create a new client? Is there any guidelines that-if followed- ensure that we can create a new mobile client? Or we should stop thinking about it? What are the option for the developers who want to build some clients for twitter? I can realize that I have asked too many questions, but I still think that there can be one common answer.

  I have several user groups on my website, like: Site Staff Departments -- History department -- Physics department -- Foreign languages department -- IT department etc I also have several categories, like: News About ... Departments -- History department -- Physics department -- Foreign languages department -- IT department etc Users in Site Staff group can edit entire site, except for Departments categories (I've set Deny permission for it). Each Department user group can edit only its corresponding category. I have successfully implemented all this. The question is: If a user belongs to two groups (Site Staff and Physics department - for instance) - he should be able to edit the whole site, except for Departments category. And also he should be able to edit Physics department category - this is what I cannot implement. Can you suggest any ideas?

  SP1 went RTM today which means it will be widely available soon. According  to the Microsoft server division blog, the service pack will be available to Microsoft's TechNet and MSDN subscribers, as well as to Microsoft volume licensing customers, on Feb. 16, 2011.   I have some developers creating an iPhone app, often the app will not work on one type of iPhone even though it worked on another one using the same version of iOS. Therefore, I am looking for a service where I can test the app natively on all the iPhone versions running various versions of iOS. I would like to be able to interact with the iPhones myself, so that I know that a specific bug has actually been fixed before, pushing to App Store and waiting 9 days for the review before I can hear the sad news from customers.   It's not generally known, but Oracle (via Oracle Technology Network) hosts one of the largest discussion forums instances (forums.oracle.com) on the planet (founded in 2001), containing nearly 10 million messages from 1 million registered users. That's a whole lot of conversations! And we really, really value those conversations - they span almost every conceivable technical subject across hundreds of products and technologies. More often not - and this is by design - those discussions are stewarded by community volunteers, many of whom are Oracle ACEs (who in fact earned their ACE stripes that way). And so, I am very happy to tell you that we have just initiated a project with our platform partner, Jive Software, to upgrade that platform to the most current, modern version available. The end result should be a vastly improved user experience for everyone involved, in all dimensions. There are many, many details to work on in coming weeks, but we'll keep you posted - and, when needed, come back to you for advice and suggestions. For now, we just wanted to share the good news!

But I think most of the time I browse internet without any purpose. When I finish my basic tasks such as checking email, reading couple of news and browsing stackoverflow, I either go to Digg or Stumble through different sites and I find myself lost. • SQL Server Data Tools–BI for Visual Studio 2013 Re-released

  Customers used to complain that the tooling for creating BI projects (Analysis Services MD and Tabular, Reporting Services, and Integration services) has been based on earlier versions of Visual Studio than the ones they were using for their other work in Visual Studio (such as C#, VB, and ASP.NET projects). To alleviate that problem, the shipment of those tools has been decoupled from the shipment of the SQL Server product. In SQL Server 2014, the BI tooling isn’t even included in the released version of SQL Server. This allows the team to keep up-to-date with the releases of Visual Studio. A little while back, I was really pleased to see that the Visual Studio 2013 update for SSDT-BI (SQL Server Data Tools for Business Intelligence) had been released.   There has been a lot of media attention paid in recent months and years to the increase in CS majors and the possibility of a second tech bubble. Some news reports have suggested that as more people enter CS, the market could be flooded with CS professionals and jobs could be increasingly difficult to find. Is this a bad time to be majoring in computer science? Edit: I'm a non-trad student who allready has a Bachelor's degree in economics and will be pursuing a CS degree starting this upcoming summer semester at the Univ of Kansas. I've been programming for about two/three years and just need a more formal education to fill the holes in my head. I have an interest in CS, it's just that I am worries about the prospects for the future.
