• Google Analytics - Unable to get GA Tracking

  We've been using GA for a few years with no probs. About 2-3 weeks ago we tried to clean up some of our tracking and on one of our profiles, it's not working anymore (since oct 10.) First, some context then some GA Debugging code. 1. Context. We have the following setup: different root domains AND different sub-domains on one of the root domains. www.website.com www.website.com.au www.anotherWebsite.com foo.website.com baa.website.com So what we're doing is the following: each root domain and each sub-domain get their own tracking code. This way we can allow separate people (from outside our company) to access only their own data. Eg. a manager for foo.website.com can only see data related to that domain .. and see data on the other domains. Have a last account which is the SUM of all the domains. this is for us. so we can see total numbers. So to do this, we have two trackers that fire off, on the page. the individual accounts all work fine - they seem to be tracking data ok. the 'global' account is not working and this gives us the = Tracking Not Installed error. This has been going on since oct 10. So the wait 24/48/72 hours thing is waaaaay over. 2. GA Debug code. Installing GA Debug chrome extension gives the following output. I've tried to hide anything that could be considered secret. UA-XXXXX34-1 == Global account (which isn't working any more).   Hi Everyone, My name is Luca. I am an intern in the License Contract Management team in Italy. I have studied Economics and Business in Pescara and finished my Master’s Degree in July 2009. After a short work experience near my home town I decided to look for a job in an International Company. I got in touch with Oracle in January 2010.   I still have a 30-second delay on the white boot-up screen before Xubuntu loads after trying various combinations of bless --device as recommended here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MactelSupportTeam/AppleIntelInstallation#Avoid_long_EFI_wait_before_GRUB I wonder if anyone has experienced this before, or can point me to some good steps for troubleshooting this issue? I have cycled my macbook dozens of times, it would be great to be able to boot quicker. I am single-booting Xubuntu 14.04 (no Mac OSX partitions or any other OS, just a GRUB partition at sda1, a main partition at sda2, and a swap at the end of the drive). Suggestions very appreciated.

• Lighting get darker when texture is aplied

  Im using OpenGL ES 1.1 for iPhone. I'm attempting to implement a skybox in my 3d world and started out by following one of Jeff Lamarches tutorials on creating textures. • File manager respawns with ubuntuone

  Starting Feb 11, my Ubuntu 10.10 desktop respawns FileManager many times(hundreds). You can observe the "Starting File Manager" processes at the bottom of the gnome desktop. I can make this behaviour stop by: System - Preferences - Ubuntu One - Services - uncheck "Files". Can someone walk me though the debug process? Linux 2.6.35-25-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 21 17:40:48 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux I'm trying to reset the Ubuntu One configuration.   I'm using pydoc in python 2.7.3 to generate documentation for a file called PreProcessingAPI.py which contains a class called PreProcessingAPI In PreProcessingAPI.py, I have the following import in the beginning of the file: from __future__ import division from re import * from nltk.stem import porter The problem is, in the documentation generated by pydoc, nltk.stem.porter is shown as a Module. There is also a DATA heading with all sorts of variables I do not know about. Is there a way to avoid these variables and avoid showing nltk.stem.porter in the modules? I'm running the following command to generate documentation python pydoc.py -w PreProcessingAPI.py I've put the file pydoc.py in the directory containing my file.   I have a question regarding conversion tracking using Google Analytics. My client uses an external payment service provider - SecureTrading. Problem: All website visitors who would like to make a purchase are taken to a payment form on https://securetrading.net and are redirected back after a successful payment. Google Analytics counts that as a referral and messes up conversion tracking stats. • Remapping Shift Selection in Gnome Terminal

  Hey so I was hoping somebody could help me out in finding a way to get shift-selection working in gnome-terminal on Ubuntu 11.10. I found the question/bug report below but neither seem to have a solution. I use Emacs for development and being able to select my current line with shift-ctrl-a/e is something I find myself trying to do every couple of minutes. I use 10.04 at work and this is possible so I am not sure what has changed. If it matters I am using Gnome 3 Shell and I use bashish to style my terminal. • My pc freezes when I connect to the internet with my iburst usb modem

  I am quite new to it and I'm having some trouble with iBurst usb modem.I followed the instructions of Graham Inggs here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Iburst and now it seems I can connect to the internet, but when I try to connect my whole desktop freezes. When I boot into Ubuntu with my modem connected all is well until I try to open Firefox then my desktop freezes as well.I used Graham Inngs' ibdriver in DKMS fromat solution and it worked apart from the freezing. Graham Inggs made a patch for this problem for older linux versions but I can't seem to find anything compatible with 12.04. Can someone please help?

• Checker AI in visual basic not working [on hold]

  I am trying to a make checkers in visual basic with ai. I am using the minimax algorithm (or at least what I understand of it) and it works, except the ai is retarded and plays like it is trying to loose and I tried to switch around the min and the max but the results are IDENTICAL. I am pissed of and have been trying to fix it for over a week now, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. I have 3 years experience of programming (in Java, only about of month of VB experience) and I always am able to solve all my errors on my own so I don't know why I can't get this to work.   Can anyone recommend a tile map generator (written in Java is a plus), where one can control some land types? For example: islands, large continents, singe large continent, archipelago, etc. I've been reading through many posts on the subject, it almost seems like many are just rolling their own. • Is it customary to write Java domain objects / data transfer objects with public member variables on mobile platforms?

  We performed a code review recently of mobile application Java code that was developed by an outside contractor and noticed that all of the domain objects / data transfer objects are written in this style: public class Category { public String name; public int id; public String description; public int parentId; } public class EmergencyContact { public long id; public RelationshipType relationshipType; public String medicalProviderType; public Contact contact; public String otherPhone; public String notes; public PersonName personName; } Of course, these members are then accessed directly everywhere else in the code. When we asked about this, the developers told us that this is a customary performance enhancement design pattern that is used on mobile platforms, because mobile devices are resource-limited environments. It doesn't seem to make sense; accessing private members via public getters/setters doesn't seem like it could add much overhead. And the added benefits of encapsulation seem to outweigh the benefits of this coding style. Is this generally true? Is this something that is normally done on mobile platforms for the reasons given above? All feedback welcome and appreciated -

• Website content copied - How can I prove that I wrote it?

  One of our competitors constantly copies all our website content. Now, I assume the trouble is to proof that we wrote the content first and that it is not the other way round. I checked on http://www.archive.org, but there is nothing. Any other way to proof that? FYI: We are a swiss company, so different laws will apply. • A question about "add-apt-repository"(gcc 4.7 or bumblebee)

  I install ubuntu 12.04 in my notebook and I use c++. I want to use c++11,so I want to upgrade my gcc to gcc4.7. I do like this: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install gcc-4.7 sudo apt-get install g++-4.7 but when I run "sudo apt-get install gcc-4.7", it just can find gcc-4.7-base not gcc-4.7, and when I run "sudo apt-get install g++-4.7", it can find nothing... Today, I want to install the "bumblebee" and do like this: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bumblebee/stable sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install bumblebee bumblebee-nvidia sudo reboot but when I run "sudo apt-get install bumblebee bumblebee-nvidia", it tells me the packages can't be find.   On github::gist what is the star-button used for? For example here: https://gist.github.com/1372818 I have 3 Buttons in the headline, they are edit download (un)star With the last one changing from star to unstar. My first idea was: Upvote system. But I can star my own code, and I didn't mention some star appearing somewhere. Next idea: a favorite, a bookmark. I can select 'starred gists' but the page came up even before I starred it. Reading the Help didn't let me find something about 'star', and the searchbox is for searching in code, in pages - not to search the helppages of github::gist.

• Asciidoctor / NetBeans

  With Jason Lee's NetBake plugin (https://bitbucket.org/jdlee/netbake), when you've installed JRuby and then the Asciidoctor gem, you're good to go to use Asciidoctor with NetBeans IDE. New Asciidoc files can be created, which have a Source view... ...and a Visual view. The current content of the text editor is parsed by the Asciidoctor gem and the resulting HTML is displayed in a JEditorPane: Awestruct support is also part of the NetBake plugin, with a new project type and other related features. An Options window is included for configuring the plugin: I've been in touch with Jason and we're discussing separating the Asciidoctor parts from the Awestruct parts and then putting them seperately as plugins on the NetBeans Plugin Portal.

• Oracle DB, Oracle ADF, GlassFish, JDeveloper, NetBeans IDE

  Today I started some experiments with Oracle guru Steven Davelaar, who lives about 20 minutes away from my place in Amsterdam by underground. Very convenient. He showed me a bunch of things in JDeveloper, while I showed him a bunch of things in NetBeans IDE. He managed to deploy an ADF application to GlassFish in JDeveloper. And, so far, I failed to do the same thing in NetBeans IDE. Quite a few (around 100) JARs are needed, aside from the question of correctly setting up or importing an ADF application, and we're still figuring out which and who and when and where. And how. And if. And why. Nonetheless, I did manage to get Oracle DB set up in NetBeans IDE, after downloading it from here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/express-edition/downloads/index.html Here's what it looks like when registered in NetBeans IDE, i.e., notice that I have a cool sample database available:   Data from the above database I managed to display very easily via the various NetBeans code generators in a PrimeFaces application, exactly as has been done many times in demonstrations and tutorials everywhere, i.e., generate JPA entities, then create an EJB, then inject the EJB into a PrimeFaces data table: The next step is to somehow do the same with ADF in NetBeans IDE. I had some trouble with passwords for Oracle DB, the command line (with Steven's help) proved helpful: Wish us luck as we continue our ADF-inspired journey.   Nowadays your site is not in fashion if you don't show at least a couple of share buttons like these: Is this just fashion, or do people actually get something good out of it? When I say "something good" I mostly mean something that you could measure, and not just the feeling that was good. Maybe I can better explain with an example: did you notice (in some way) that many people clicked on those links to share your page/s on those web 2.0 social sites? And in such a case on which social networks did you see they mostly share your pages? BTW I'm not talking about Google PR, i know all web 2.0 social sites use nofollow everywhere and even hidden links, so they are useless by themselves for PR. UPDATE: According to this video, Google's Alter Ego says that they now use in some way data from social sites in ranking. If this is true, it's obvious that the Share on button for FB, Tweet, etc are definitely of some values. But again my question is more about what you noticed in your real experience to be a direct benefit of adding those type of "Share On" links on your webisite? I.e. did you see more traffic coming in form FB, or some users who bought your products because of FB or Twitter? Or any other benefits? Thanks

• Configuring Eclipse Xubuntu 12.04

  Just installed Eclipse 3.7.1 on my xubuntu 12.04. I used to have eclipse installed on my 10.04. You could choose new java project, java source files etc. but this version doesn't have these options. If i make a .java file, it's just plane text, no highlighting and no chance to compile. I have installed eclipse-jdt. I looked https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EclipseIDE this manual. It tells to modify /etc/eclipse/java_home file but there is no such file on my system, just eclipse.ini. Am i missing a step here or have i encountered some sort of a bug?

  I have just found a very good resource about Hekaton (In-memory OLTP feature in the SQL Server 2014). On the Codeplex site you can find the newest Hekaton samples - https://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/releases/view/114491. The latest samples we have were related to the CTP2 version but the newest will work with the RTM version.There are some issues fixed you might find if you tried to run the previous samples on the RTM version:Update (Apr 28, 2014): Fixed an issue where the isolation level for sample stored procedures demonstrating integrity checks was too low. The transaction isolation level for the following stored procedures was updated: Sales.uspInsertSpecialOfferProductinmem, Sales.uspDeleteSpecialOfferinmem, Production.uspInsertProductinmem, and Production.uspDeleteProductinmem.
