  I have the following query (all tables are innoDB) INSERT INTO busy_machines(machine) SELECT machine FROM all_machines WHERE machine NOT IN (SELECT machine FROM busy_machines) and machine_name!='Main' LIMIT 1 Which causes a deadlock when I run it in threads, obviously because of the inner select, right? The error I get is: (1213, 'Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction') How can I avoid the deadlock? Is there a way to change to query to make it work, or do I need to do something else?

  I'd like to limit the text length of EditText widget, And if user type more charactes than the limited length, I want to show a kind of warning popup, however I can't show popup. The problem is that we can't show popup while typing, Probably, many people think a way of utilizing OnKeyListener or OnKeyDown. But, when the word is composing, nothing come into OnKeyListener or OnKeyDown, So, we can't show popup when we want to. Is there anyone who have smart idea to solve this problem?

However my OS file system has a limit on the number of sub directories, meaning storing the original folder structure is not going to work. Suggestions? Map the URL to some filename so can store flatly? Or just shove it in a database like sqlite to avoid file system limitations?

But in comments I'm selecting some SUM of points, and if user never commented, I can't get that user in listing?!   Hi, I made an android application with googlemap api, and draw some 16x16 png (about 200 count) on overlay. When I move or zoom on/in mapview, "out of memory" error occurs very often. I also used the googlemap appication in my htc itself. Seams that it uses about 14+MB memmory, and never happens "out of memory". How to save memmory usage in a googlemap api, or how to enlarge android api memmory limit. Thanks a lot!

I'm consuming a service that limits the number of calls I can make based on IP. The service costs in the 20k range after the free limit is used up. I'm very close to enough calls but not quite there using the free service. My server has 3 IP so I could in effect triple the number of calls I could make to the remote service by changing the IP.

The compilation debug is set to true in the web.config but I get different answers from everyone i ask, does debug set to true cause each aspx to compile into random areas of ram thus fragmenting that ram and eventually causing out of memory problems?
