  • JBoss 5.1 binds to host address while run in vserver with -b <guest address>

    - by bart cane
    Hello, while starting JBoss 5.1.0.GA in virtual server machine on Debian (linux-VServer technology) I get the following error: ERROR [org.jboss.kernel.plugins.dependency.AbstractKernelController] (main) Error installing to Start: name=jboss.remoting:protocol=rmi,service=JMXConnectorServer state=Create mode=Manual requiredState=Installed java.io.IOException: Cannot bind to URL [rmi://10.1.2.11:1090/jmxconnector]: javax.naming.NoPermissionException [Root exception is java.rmi.ServerException: RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.rmi.AccessException: Registry.Registry.bind disallowed; origin /AA.BB.CC.DD is non-local host] where AA.BB.CC.DD is host machine name, 10.1.2.11 is vserver guest with JBoss and JBoss is started with -b 10.1.2.11 (I also tried -Djboss.bind.address=10.1.2.11 - the same result). 10.1.2.11 is bound to dummy2 interface on host (serving 10.1.2.1 network). The root exception is strange - why JBoss wants to bind to host address AA.BB.CC.DD? There were no problems with 4.2.3.GA on the same machine, also started with -b 10.1.2.11. It starts correctly when no params present - binds to localhost and everything is ok, but it MUST be bound to 10.1.2.11 to be visible by Apache on another vserver guest, acting as proxy. I thought that it can be fixed by setting net.ipv4.conf.all.promote_secondaries=1 via sysctl (was 0) but it didn't help much. Has anyone had such problem? Regards, bart

  • Should my connected web parts support IWebPartField, IWebPartRow and IWebPartData?

    - by Javaman59
    I've been writing some simple webparts, and they communicate via a custom interface type. That's working fine. I've got one ConnectionProvider, with a variety of ConnectionConsumers. I see that the OOTB SharePoint webparts provide many standard connections, apparently through IWebPartField and IWebPartRow (IWebPartData seems less supported). I've tried to add a IWebPartRow interface to a provider, and found that it's not actually useful (apparently), unless it's shareing data that the OOTB components use, such as images, urls and users. Well, that's the impression I got, anyway... I've only done a quick experiment, and found it quite difficult to implement and test. Is there any point in spending time trying to add support for the standard webpart interfaces?

  • Programmatically retrieve disconnected network adapter information in .NET

    - by Soo Wei Tan
    I have an application written in C# that needs to retrieve information like IP address, subnet mask from a disconnected network adapter. I've tried using various methods such as WMI and the .NET NetworkAdapter class but they don't return any useful data when the network adapter is disconnected. I'm pretty sure Windows keeps this information somewhere, since I can apply network settings using netsh and it appears correctly in the Control Panel. One thing that worked for me in XP was to parse the output of the netsh tool and it would return information even for a disconnected adapter. However, this doesn't seem to work on Windows 7. Win XP output: Configuration for interface "Local Area Connection 5" DHCP enabled: No IP Address: 169.254.0.128 SubnetMask: 255.255.255.0 InterfaceMetric: 0 Win7 output: Configuration for interface "Local Area Connection 2" DHCP enabled: No InterfaceMetric: 5 Any ideas?

  • Android: Nexus One - Geocoder causes IOException - works perfectly with other devices and emulator

    - by Stefan Klumpp
    The code below works perfectly for real devices running on 1.5, 1.6 and 2.0 as well as the emulator running on 2.1. However, executing it on the Nexus One (running 2.1) raises an IOException: java.io.IOException: Unable to parse response from server at android.location.Geocoder.getFromLocation(Geocoder.java:124) That's the code snippet where it happens: Double myLatitude = AppObject.myLocation.getLatitude(); Double myLongitude = AppObject.myLocation.getLongitude(); DEBUG.i(TAG, "My location: " + myLatitude + " | " + myLongitude); Geocoder geocoder = new Geocoder(MainActivity.this); java.util.List<Address> addressList; try { addressList = geocoder.getFromLocation(myLatitude, myLongitude, 5); if(addressList!=null && addressList.size()>0) { currentAddress = new String(); DEBUG.i(TAG,addressList.get(0).toString()); currentAddress = addressList.get(0).getAddressLine(0) + ", " + addressList.get(0).getAddressLine(1) + ", " + addressList.get(0).getAddressLine(2); } return true; } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); return false; }

  • best way to reference business objects from presentation layer..?

    - by Vytas999
    I want to develop an enterprise app that includes a WindowsForms presentation layer, middle-tier components for business logic and data access, and a MsSQL Server database. Middle-tier components should contain some business objects and will be called from presentation layer using .NET Remoting. Whitch is the best way (and why) to reference these business objects from presentation layer? a) Create class library project, implementing business objects. Reference this project from presentation layer and middle-tier layer. b) Create interface library project defining business objects. Create class library project implementing interfaces. Reference class library project from middle-tier layer. Reference interface library project from presentation layer. c) Create separate class library projects for middle-tier and presentation layer. Reference corresponding project from presentation layer.

  • AppDomain dependencies across directories

    - by strager
    I am creating a plugin system and I am creating one AppDomain per plugin. Each plugin has its own directory with its main assemblies and references. The main assemblies will be loaded by my plugin loader, in addition to my interface assemblies (so the plugin can interact with the application). Creating the AppDomain: this.appDomain = AppDomain.CreateDomain("AppDomain", null, new AppDomainSetup { ApplicationBase = pluginPath, PrivateBinPath = pluginPath, }); Loading the assemblies: this.appDomain.Load(myInterfaceAssembly.GetName(true)); var assemblies = new List<Assembly>(); foreach (var assemblyName in this.assemblyNames) { assemblies.Add(this.appDomain.Load(assemblyName)); } The format of assemblyName is the assembly's filename without ".dll". The problem is that AppDomain.Load(assemblyName) throws an exception: Could not load file or assembly '[[assemblyName]], Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. All of the dependencies of [[assemblyName]] are: Inside the directory pluginPath, The myInterfaceAssembly which is already loaded, or In the GAC (e.g. mscorelib). Clearly I'm not doing something right. I have tried: Creating an object using this.appDomain.CreateInstanceAndUnwrap inheriting from MarshalByRefObject with a LoadAssembly method to load the assembly. I get an exception saying that the current assembly (containing the proxy class) could not be loaded (file not found, as above), even if I manually call this.appDomain.Load(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName(true)). Attaching an AssemblyResolve handler to this.appDomain. I'm met with the same exception as in (1), and manually loading doesn't help. Recursively loading assemblies by loading their dependencies into this.appDomain first. This doesn't work, but I doubt my code is correct: private static void LoadAssemblyInto(AssemblyName assemblyName, AppDomain appDomain) { var assembly = Assembly.Load(assemblyName); foreach (var referenceName in assembly.GetReferencedAssemblies()) { if (!referenceName.FullName.StartsWith("MyProject")) { continue; } var loadedAssemblies = appDomain.GetAssemblies(); if (loadedAssemblies.Any((asm) => asm.FullName == referenceName.FullName)) { continue; } LoadAssemblyInto(referenceName, appDomain); } appDomain.Load(assembly.GetName(true)); } How can I load my plugin assembly with its dependencies in that plugin's directory while also loading some assemblies in the current directory? Note: The assemblies a plugin may (probably will) reference are already loaded in the current domain. This can be shared across domains (performance benefit? simplicity?) if required. Fusion log: *** Assembly Binder Log Entry (12/24/2010 @ 10:46:40 AM) *** The operation failed. Bind result: hr = 0x80070002. The system cannot find the file specified. • Python imaging alternatives

    - by Paul McMillan
    I have python code that needs to do just a couple simple things to photographs: crop, resize, and overlay a watermark. I've used PIL, and the resample/resize results are TERRIBLE. I've used imagemagick, and the interface and commands were designed by packaging a cat in a box, and then repeatedly throwing it down a set of stairs at a keyboard. I'm looking for something which is not PIL or Imagemagick that I can use with python to do simple, high-quality image transformations. For that matter, it doesn't even have to have python bindings if the command line interface is good. Oh, and it needs to be relatively platform agnostic, our production servers are linux, but some of our devs develop on windows. It can't require the installation of a bunch of silly gui code to use as a library, either.

  • How to remove default header from WCF REST Outgoing Response?

    - by bmsantos
    The following C# WCF based REST service gives me some undesired headers that I'm not sure if I can remove them trough the API. The interface: [ServiceContract] public interface IControlSystem { [OperationContract] [WebGet] System.IO.Stream About(); } The implementation: public class ControlSystem : IControlSystem { public System.IO.Stream About() { return new System.IO.MemoryStream(ASCIIEncoding.Default.GetBytes("Hello World")); } } Out of a raw socket connection it gives the following response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: ASP.NET Development Server/9.0.0.0 Date: Tue, 15 Jun 2010 13:12:51 GMT X-AspNet-Version: 2.0.50727 Cache-Control: private Content-Type: application/octet-stream Content-Length: 39 Connection: Close Hello World Question is, is it possible to get the server to not report anything other than the actual message? Need it in some calls so due to some small embedded device clients that will try to connect to the server and I would like to minimize the amount of parsing. Thanks, B.

  • Apps not showing in Django admin site

    - by jack
    I have a Django project with about 10 apps in it. But the admin interface only shows Auth and Site models which are part of Django distribution. Yes, the admin interface is up and working but none of my self-written apps shows there. INSTALLED_APPS INSTALLED_APPS = ( 'django.contrib.auth', 'django.contrib.sites', 'django.contrib.contenttypes', 'django.contrib.humanize', 'django.contrib.sessions', 'django.contrib.admin', 'django.contrib.admindocs', 'project.app1', ... app1/admin.py from django.contrib import admin from project.app1.models import * admin.site.register(model1) admin.site.register(model2) admin.site.register(model3) What could be wrong in this case? Looks like everything is configured as what document says. Thank you in advance.

  • C++ vs Matlab vs Python as a main language for Computer Vision Research

    - by Hough
    Hi all, Firstly, sorry for a somewhat long question but I think that many people are in the same situation as me and hopefully they can also gain some benefit from this. I'll be starting my PhD very soon which involves the fields of computer vision, pattern recognition and machine learning. Currently, I'm using opencv (2.1) C++ interface and I especially like its powerful Mat class and the overloaded operations available for matrix and image operations and seamless transformations. I've also tried (and implemented many small vision projects) using opencv python interface (new bindings; opencv 2.1) and I really enjoy python's ability to integrate opencv, numpy, scipy and matplotlib. But recently, I went back to opencv C++ interface because I felt that the official python new bindings were not stable enough and no overloaded operations are available for matrices and images, not to mention the lack of machine learning modules and slow speeds in certain operations. I've also used Matlab extensively in the past and although I've used mex files and other means to speed up the program, I just felt that Matlab's performance was inadequate for real-time vision tasks, be it for fast prototyping or not. When the project becomes larger and larger, many tasks have to be re-written in C and compiled into Mex files increasingly and Matlab becomes nothing more than a glue language. Here comes the sub-questions: For carrying out research in these fields (machine learning, vision, pattern recognition), what is your main or ideal programming language for rapid prototyping of ideas and testing algorithms contained in papers? For computer vision research work, can you list down the pros and cons of using the following languages? C++ (with opencv + gsl + svmlib + other libraries) vs Matlab (with all its toolboxes) vs python (with the imcomplete opencv bindings + numpy + scipy + matplotlib). Are there computer vision PhD/postgrad students here who are using only C++ (with all its availabe libraries including opencv) without even needing to resort to Matlab or python? In other words, given the current existing computer vision or machine learning libraries, is C++ alone sufficient for fast prototyping of ideas? If you're currently using Java or C# for your research, can you list down the reasons why they should be used and how they compare to other languages in terms of available libraries? What is the de facto vision/machine learning programming language and its associated libraries used in your research group? Thanks in advance. Edit: As suggested, I've opened the question to both academic and non-academic computer vision/machine learning/pattern recognition researchers and groups.

  • Concrete Types or Interfaces for return types?

    - by SDReyes
    Today I came to a fundamental paradox of the object programming style, concrete types or interfaces. Whats the better election for a method's return type: a concrete type or an interface? In most cases, I tend to use concrete types as the return type for methods. because I believe that an concrete type is more flexible for further use and exposes more functionality. The dark side of this: Coupling. The angelic one: A concrete type contains per-se the interface you would going to return initially, and extra functionality. What's your thumb's rule? Is there any programming principle for this? BONUS: This is an example of what I mean http://stackoverflow.com/questions/491375/readonlycollection-or-ienumerable-for-exposing-member-collections

  • XML documentation to context sensitive help

    - by Yonas
    These days a number of commercial and open source tools have been developed for this purpose. However(unfortunately), non of them meet my requirement for specific problem I am dealing with. Currently, I am working on a project that exposes a different classes and functions to user as scripting interface. the user can use the objects from custom scripting interface and call methods to solve some specific problem. The problem I am facing is users of my classes need some sort of documentation in order to write their script efficiently. To address this problem am planing to use the compiler generated XML file to provide context sensitive help, which allows users to mouse over on any of the controls and corresponding methods from the GUI and read the reference documentation of the class/method. Now ... here are my questions: Can I get the sample source code? Can any one give me someone point me to some sort of best approach to address the problem?

  • How to check if a generic type definition inherits from another generic type definition

    - by Anne
    I'm trying to check whether an open generic type definition implements some open generic interface. Look at the sample below: public interface IService<T> { } public class ServiceImpl<T> : IService<T> { } private static bool OpenGenericTypeImplementsOpenGenericInterface( Type derivedType, Type interfaceType) { return derivedType.GetInterfaces().Contains(interfaceType); } [TestMethod] public void Verify() { Type openGenericImplementation = typeof(ServiceImpl<>); Type expectedInterfaceType = typeof(IService<>); bool implDoesImplementInterface = OpenGenericTypeImplementsOpenGenericInterface( openGenericImplementation, expectedInterfaceType); // This assert fails. Why? Assert.IsTrue(implDoesImplementInterface); } I found out that the returned type from the Type.GetInterfaces() method does not match the type returned from typeof(IService<>). I can't figure out why that is and how to correctly validate whether some generic type definition inherits or implements some other generic type definition. What's going on here and how do I solve fix this problem?

    I'm creating a dialog as follows: @Override protected Dialog onCreateDialog(int id) { switch (id) { case DIALOG_1: return new AlertDialog.Builder(this) .setTitle(R.string.s_dlg1) .setPositiveButton(android.R.string.ok, this) .create(); case DIALOG_2: ... ... } return null; } @Override public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int whichButton) { if (dialog == ???) { ... } else if (dialog == ???){ ... } } How do I identify which dialog triggered the onClick method? I can't declare the interface methods as in-line when creating the dialog because I want to access variables in my class. Every other interface passes some sort of id to its methods to identify which object called the method, but I can't seem to do anything with 'DialogInterface dialog'.

  • MTU mismatch between GetIfEntry and netsh

    - by ChrisJ
    I'm working on pseudo-transport layer software that runs over UDP, providing reliable connection-oriented transmission, as an alternative to TCP. In order to maximize network efficiency, we query the MTU of the "best" network adapter upon initialization. MIB_IFROW row = {0}; row.dwIndex = dwBestIfIndex; dwRes = GetIfEntry(&row); Searching online I found that you can use the following netsh commands to query for this same value, from a command prompt (not a C++ API) netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces The troubling issue is that while row.dwMtu may be set to 1500, snooping the network traffic on the sending laptop shows that our packets are fragmented into 1300 byte packets. netsh also reports that the MTU is 1300. Clearly the value reported by netsh command is the actual used values. Anyone know what API I can call to get the same values as netsh?

  • Unable to import Eclipse project to Android studio

    - by Binoy Babu
    Whenever I try to import my Eclipse project to Android Studio I get the following error : You are using an old, unsupported version of Gradle. Please use version 1.8 or greater. Please point to a supported Gradle version in the project's Gradle settings or in the project's Gradle wrapper (if applicable.) Consult IDE log for more details (Help | Show Log) Im using Android Studio 0.3 and Ubuntu, I also tried it on a Windows 8 box with fresh install but getting the same error. I'm using default gradle wrapper and I tried checking and unchecking auto import option. Is this a bug? How can I get around it. How do I update gradle to 1.8 or check the current gradle version? My build.gradle is given below. buildscript { repositories { mavenCentral() } dependencies { classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:0.6.3' // I also tried using 0.6.1 and 0.5.+ } } apply plugin: 'android' dependencies { compile fileTree(dir: 'libs', include: '*.jar') } android { compileSdkVersion 18 buildToolsVersion "18.0.1" sourceSets { main { manifest.srcFile 'AndroidManifest.xml' java.srcDirs = ['src'] resources.srcDirs = ['src'] aidl.srcDirs = ['src'] renderscript.srcDirs = ['src'] res.srcDirs = ['res'] assets.srcDirs = ['assets'] } // Move the tests to tests/java, tests/res, etc... instrumentTest.setRoot('tests') // Move the build types to build-types/<type> // For instance, build-types/debug/java, build-types/debug/AndroidManifest.xml, ... // This moves them out of them default location under src/<type>/... which would // conflict with src/ being used by the main source set. // Adding new build types or product flavors should be accompanied // by a similar customization. debug.setRoot('build-types/debug') release.setRoot('build-types/release') } }

  • Why are getters prefixed with the word "get"?

    - by Joey
    Generally speaking, creating a fluid API is something that makes all programmers happy; Both for the creators who write the interface, and the consumers who program against it. Looking beyond conventions, why is it that we prefix all our getters with the word "get". Omitting it usually results in a more fluid, easy to read set of instructions, which ultimately leads to happiness (however small or passive). Consider this very simple example. (pseudo code) Conventional: person = new Person("Joey") person.getName().toLower().print() Alternative: person = new Person("Joey") person.name().toLower().print() Of course this only applies to languages where getters/setters are the norm, but is not directed at any specific language. Were these conventions developed around technical limitations (disambiguation), or simply through the pursuit of a more explicit, intentional feeling type of interface, or perhaps this is just a case of trickle a down norm. What are your thoughts? And how would simple changes to these conventions impact your happiness / daily attitudes towards your craft (however minimal). Thanks.

  • how to restrict a jsp hit counter?

    - by user261002
    I am writing a hot counter in jsp, for my coursework. I have write the code, and there is not error and its working, but the problem is that: if the user have open the website and try to user different page, when ever that the user get back to the home page the counter still is adding a number , how can I restrict this part??? shall restrict it with session?? this is my code : The current count for the counter bean is: <% counter.saveCount(); int _numberofvisitors=counter.getVisitorsNumber(); out.println(_numberofvisitors); % Bean: package counter; import java.sql.*; import java.sql.SQLException; public class CounterBean implements java.io.Serializable { int coun = 0; public CounterBean() { database.DatabaseManager.getInstance().getDatabaseConnection(); } public int getCoun() { return this.coun; } public void setCoun(int coun) { this.coun += coun; } public boolean saveCount() { boolean _save = false; database.SQLUpdateStatement sqlupdate = new database.SQLUpdateStatement("counter", "hitcounter"); sqlupdate.addColumn("hitcounter", getCoun()); if (sqlupdate.Execute()) { _save = true; } return _save; } public int getVisitorsNumber() throws SQLException { int numberOfVisitors = 0; if (database.DatabaseManager.getInstance().connectionOK()) { database.SQLSelectStatement sqlselect = new database.SQLSelectStatement("counter", "hitcounter", "0"); ResultSet _userExist = sqlselect.executeWithNoCondition(); if (_userExist.next()) { numberOfVisitors = _userExist.getInt("hitcounter"); } } return numberOfVisitors; } }

  • Scalable / Parallel Large Graph Analysis Library?

    - by Joel Hoff
    I am looking for good recommendations for scalable and/or parallel large graph analysis libraries in various languages. The problems I am working on involve significant computational analysis of graphs/networks with 1-100 million nodes and 10 million to 1+ billion edges. The largest SMP computer I am using has 256 GB memory, but I also have access to an HPC cluster with 1000 cores, 2 TB aggregate memory, and MPI for communication. I am primarily looking for scalable, high-performance graph libraries that could be used in either single or multi-threaded scenarios, but parallel analysis libraries based on MPI or a similar protocol for communication and/or distributed memory are also of interest for high-end problems. Target programming languages include C++, C, Java, and Python. My research to-date has come up with the following possible solutions for these languages: C++ -- The most viable solutions appear to be the Boost Graph Library and Parallel Boost Graph Library. I have looked briefly at MTGL, but it is currently slanted more toward massively multithreaded hardware architectures like the Cray XMT. C - igraph and SNAP (Small-world Network Analysis and Partitioning); latter uses OpenMP for parallelism on SMP systems. Java - I have found no parallel libraries here yet, but JGraphT and perhaps JUNG are leading contenders in the non-parallel space. Python - igraph and NetworkX look like the most solid options, though neither is parallel. There used to be Python bindings for BGL, but these are now unsupported; last release in 2005 looks stale now. Other topics here on SO that I've looked at have discussed graph libraries in C++, Java, Python, and other languages. However, none of these topics focused significantly on scalability. Does anyone have recommendations they can offer based on experience with any of the above or other library packages when applied to large graph analysis problems? Performance, scalability, and code stability/maturity are my primary concerns. Most of the specialized algorithms will be developed by my team with the exception of any graph-oriented parallel communication or distributed memory frameworks (where the graph state is distributed across a cluster).
