  • How to find same-value rectangular areas of a given size in a matrix most efficiently?

    My problem is very simple but I haven't found an efficient implementation yet. Suppose there is a matrix A like this: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 4 2 2 2 0 0 4 4 2 2 2 0 0 0 0 2 2 2 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 Now I want to find all starting positions of rectangular areas in this matrix which have a given size. An area is a subset of A where all numbers are the same. Let's say width=2 and height=3. There are 3 areas which have this size: 2 2 2 2 0 0 2 2 2 2 0 0 2 2 2 2 0 0 The result of the function call would be a list of starting positions (x,y starting with 0) of those areas. List((2,1),(3,1),(5,0)) The following is my current implementation.   • Event when the user changes font size in browser?

    I need to get informed when the user changes the font size in it's browser. I need it to reposition some elements which have to be relative in one dimension to an anchor inside a text. So far i haven't found anything and i'm a bit worried that it's not possible. In this case it should be possible to emulate it with a hidden div and some text inside and a script polling for changes of it's width. But i hope someone has a more elegant solution.

  • Unable to debug St9bad_alloc error. Tried reducing the size of the data structure, error still persists

    I get a St9bad_alloc error which I'm unable to debug. I tried reducing the size of the data structure to eliminate the possibility that I might be running out of memory but that doesn't seem to be the case. These are the relevant files:- gdb backtrace: http://pastebin.com/5hFhHXnL TraceCache.cc: http://pastebin.com/j8vK812j I can't understand how, in the backtrace it jumps from TraceCache.cc:55 to TraceCache.cc:34 whereas in my code I can't see any such path. Please let me know in case any other information is required. Thanks

  • How to create location blocks in nginx for a single file but have it follow the rules of another location block in addition to it's own?

    I have a location block for / that does all of my fastcgi stuff and it has a normal timeout of 10s. I want to be able to have different timesouts for certain files(/admin, sitemap.xml).   • In Email, Image (img) Source (src) Tags are rewritten as relative links. How to fix?

    I'm working on sending out an html based email, and every time it sends the image src tags and some of the anchor href tags are modified to be relative url's. Update 2: This is happening between when the body of the email is generated and sent and when it arrives in my inbox. Update: I am using Postfix on a LAMPP server. In addition, I am using Zend_Mail to send the emails out.   • Crash: iPhone Threading with Blocks

    I have some convenience methods set up for threading with blocks (using PLBlocks). Then in the main portion of my code, I call the method -fetchArrivalsForLocationIDs:callback:errback:, which runs some web API calls in the background. Here's the problem: when I comment out the 2 NSAutoreleasePool-related lines in JTBlockThreading.m, of course I get lots of Object 0x6b31280 of class __NSArrayM autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking errors. However, if I uncomment them, the app frequently crashes on the [pool release]; line, sometimes saying malloc: *** error for object 0x6e3ae10: pointer being freed was not allocated" *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug.     I'm experiencing some significant performance issues on an NFS server. I've been reading up a bit on partition alignment, and I think I have my partitions mis-aligned. I can't find anything that tells me how to actually quantify the effects of mis-aligned partitions. Some of the general information I found suggests the performance penalty can be quite high (upwards of 60%) and others say it's negligible. What I want to do is determine if partition alignment is a factor in this server's performance problems or not; and if so, to what degree? So I'll put my info out here, and hopefully the community can confirm if my partitions are indeed mis-aligned, and if so, help me put a number to what the performance cost is. Server is a Dell R510 with dual E5620 CPUs and 8 GB RAM. There are eight 15k 2.5” 600 GB drives (Seagate ST3600057SS) configured in hardware RAID-6 with a single hot spare. RAID controller is a Dell PERC H700 w/512MB cache (Linux sees this as a LSI MegaSAS 9260). OS is CentOS 5.6, home directory partition is ext3, with options “rw,data=journal,usrquota”.     I'm running into a weird issue that I'm struggling to figure out what's causing the page to break. I have an internal website that's still under development (thus no link to the page) that works great in Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 in IE 7 Standards mode. But when I force it to IE 8 Standards mode the page will only display the title text in the browser tab and an otherwise completely blank page. It seems so broken that the blank page doesn't even have a context menu. This is an ASP.NET MVC application and I'm making use of DotLess. I have the HttpHandler hooked up for it in the web.config. I've run the CSS and the HTML through the W3C validators and both have come back as completely valid. I'm trying the arduous task of removing/re-adding elements until it displays, but any insight into what could cause this would help. EDIT: it appears to be something related to the DotLess stylesheet. The resulting CSS is valid according to the W3C CSS validator. EDIT 2: Digging further, and making use of IE's Developer Tools to control the styles, it appears that IE is reading a single statement twice even though it only occurs once in the output. I don't know what's causing that as it's only appearing once in the output stream. Here's an image of it too: EDIT 3: It appears that even though it duplicates that particular selector, if I change the font-size to a whole number like 61% instead of the current 60.95% (that specific to defaultly match the existing desktop app as closely as possible) it works fine. So something specific to IE duplicating that selector block and the font-size being a percentage specific to two decimal places appears to kill IE8 Standards mode completely.
