• how to display a JFrame from an applet?

  Hello everyone, I have this class called PollFrame that extends JFrame in a file called PollFrame.java . PollFrame contains a form. I have an applet, which has a button in it. When the button is clicked, I want the PollFrame to be displayed. Based on some logic however, I would like to set either a line or a item in one of the columns, e.g. a fruit to red, or the line to bold. I have code to work out which Fruit or Color I would like to differentiate (by color/bold) in the code behind, but I can't figure out, especially given the custom listbox display, how I could go about setting a particular item to a different color/bold.   Hi, I want to use django.contrib.comments in a blogging application and customize the way the form is displayed. My problem is that I can't get the fields to display although displaying the hidden fields works just fine. • How to display NotifyIcon and SSDP Service running during AutoLogon

  I've got an application (that is targetting .Net Framework 2.0) that is running on startup of the System, and I'm trying to get a NotifyIcon to display. When my program starts up when a user either Runs it normally or is started as a child process after the system has already logged on everything is fine. If my application starts up as the system is performing an AutoLogon using POSReady2009 (basically XP with Single User set). Then the NotifyIcon never becomes active. If you subsequently check (in a timer) the .Visible of the Icon at any point later it always reports that it is visible = true. If you disable the SSDPSrv and restart the Computer, the Icon displays correctly. I have a sneaking suspicion this is related to .Net 3.5sp1 installed over the top of a .Net 2 system. Is there some process that I should be following to ensure that my NotifyIcon is always available to the user. I have setup RegisterWindowMessage("TaskbarCreated") but I don't get this message called, except when you forcilbly Kill Explorer.exe and restart it. Even so, a NotifyIcon interally registers for these notifications anyway, so it shouldn't be required. I'm happy to stall the startup of my program, but once the program starts up, I expect that the icon shows correctly. If there is a KB article that I cannot find detailing this I'd be happy with that too.

  I know that ASP.NET MVC has error filter attribute to handle specified error type. However, this feature cannot catch any error that occurs when application start. Next, I try to solve this question by setting default redirect in custom errors like the following code. <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="Scripts/ApplicationError.htm"></customErrors> Unfortunately, it does not work because when application receive redirected request, it try to start application again and it throw exception again. How do to solve this problem? Alternatively, Do you have other idea for handling this error. Thanks, PS. The main reason for creating this handler because I want to display error when application cannot connect to other service like database for caching data on application start.

• intelligent path truncation/ellipsis for display

  I am looking for an existign path truncation algorithm (similar to what the Win32 static control does with SS_PATHELLIPSIS) for a set of paths that should focus on the distinct elements. For example, if my paths are like this: Unit with X/Test 3V/ Unit with X/Test 4V/ Unit with X/Test 5V/ Unit without X/Test 3V/ Unit without X/Test 6V/ Unit without X/2nd Test 6V/ When not enough display space is available, they should be truncated to something like this: ...with X/...3V/ ...with X/...4V/ ...with X/...5V/ ...without X/...3V/ ...without X/...6V/ ...without X/2nd ...6V/ (Assuming that an ellipsis generally is shorter than three letters). This is just an example of a rather simple, ideal case (e.g. they'd all end up at different lengths now, and I wouldn't know how to create a good suggestion when a path "Thingie/Long Test/" is added to the pool). There is no given structure of the path elements, they are assigned by the user, but often items will have similar segments. It should work for proportional fonts, so the algorithm should take a measure function (and not call it to heavily) or generate a suggestion list. Data-wise, a typical use case would contain 2..4 path segments anf 20 elements per segment. I am looking for previous attempts into that direction, and if that's solvable wiht sensible amount of code or dependencies.

And when all loading is finished, the form must disappear.   I Started with this C# Question I'm trying to Display a bmp image inside a rtf Box for a Bot program I'm making. This function is supposed to convert a bitmap to rtf code whis is inserted to another rtf formatter srtring with additional text. Kind of like Smilies being used in a chat program. For some reason the output of this function gets rejected by the RTF Box and Vanishes completly.   I have the following image in a CMS that I want to hide, I dont really want to change source code but would like to hide a specific image which does not have a class applied. Here is the HTML: <td class="right side"> <a title="Show only topic 1" href="view.php?id=3&topic=1"> <img alt="Show only topic 1" src="http://vl3.co.uk/iphone/pix/i/one.gif"/> </a> <br/> </td> I want to hide the <a> and the <img>, bare in mind the title and alt tag can be different so cant use that as an identifier. I presume I could use .find() and then use .parent() to set the <a> to display: none; thus hiding the img? Im inlcuding the jQuery library, however the CMS has YUI included out of the box so if anyone has a YUI method it would be appreicated.

  WARNING: Lengthy description coming up! I have written an uploader based upon APC progress uploader for PHP. This works fine and dandy, but the script as a whole (apc etc) is intended to be used only for those with Javascript. To achieve this, I have searched for any input type=file, and replaced these with an absolutely positioned form that appears over the original area where the old file input area was. The reasons for this are so the new uploader can submit to a hidden in page IFrame has to be in a seperate <form> in order to submit to the APC reciever to display the progress upload bar. allows it to be used within any form with an input type=file throughout the site I have used JQuery to do this, with the following code: Original HTML form code: <div><input type="file" name="media" id="media" /></div> Find position of div block code: // get the parent div, and properties thereof parentDiv = $(this).closest('div'); w = $(parentDiv).width(); h = $(parentDiv).height(); loc = $(parentDiv).offset(); Locate new block over old block: $('#_sender').appendTo('body').css({left:loc.left,top:loc.top,position:'absolute',zIndex:400,height:h,width:w}).show(); This works fine, and shows over the old block OK. The problem: When other elements in the DOM before or above it change (in this case a "tree view" selector is pushing the old block down) the new upload form gets moved over other elements. Is there a JQuery (or JS) method for changing this upon DOM change? Some kind of .onchange for the page?! Or an .onmove for the original block?   Hi! In MVC and MVP and similar patterns there's often the approach of the "passive view" which is as stupid as possible. This should facilitate unit testing and create a clearer separation of view and model. I know that those patterns come in very different flavours and especially the understanding of MVP seems to differ from article to article. Therefore my question is not "how do i implement this pattern correctly". I want to improve view and model separation and go for better testability of the application. Therefore i'd like to go for a passive view. But my question is, where would you put logic that is clearly only view related? like a textviewer should scroll the text when the scrollbar is moved. would you put the logic for this into the Presenter? Let's say the textviewer has some extended functionality. like setting markings on textpassages. The logic for this makes clearly sense to be put into the Presenter. However, if it is mixed with all the 'direct' logic of the view (like scrolling the text) the Presenter could become very big, which is also not really a nice design. So my question is where to put display related logic of a passive view and what functionallity to mix in the Presenter. Thanks!

• "image contains error", trying to create and display images using google app engine

  Hello all the general idea is to create a galaxy-like map. I run into problems when I try to display a generated image. • Wordpress display featured posts outside of loop

  Im new to WP and Im not real sure how to work with the loop. Any help would be really appreciated. Oh yeah, I am using a plugin that resizes images on the fly, thats what the the wp_get_post_image/getphpthumburl business is.

• How can I display an ASP.NET MVC html part from one application in another

  We have several asp.net MVC apps in the following setup SecurityApp (root application - handles forms auth for SSO and has a profile edit page) Application1 (virtual directory) Application2 (virtual directory) Application3 (virtual directory) so that domain.com points to SecurityApp and domain.com/Application1 etc point to their associated virtual directories. All of our Single Sign On (SSO) is working properly using forms authentication. Based on the users permissions when logging in a menu that lists their available applications and a logout link will be generated and saved in the cache - this menu displays fine whenever the user is in the SecurityApp (editing their profile) but we cannot figure out how to get the Applications in the virtual directories to display the same application menu. We have tried: 1) Using JSONP to do an request that will return the html for the menu. The ajax call returns the HTML with the html; however, because User.IsAuthenticated is false the menu comes back empty. 2) We created a user control and include it along with the dll's for the SecurityApp project and this works; however, we dont want to have to include all the dlls for the SecurityApp project in every application that we create (along with all the app settings in the web.config) We would like this to be as simple as possible to implement so that anyone creating a new app can add the menu to their application in as few steps as possible... Any ideas? To Clarify - we are using ASP.NET MVC 1.0 since these apps are in production and we do not have the okay to go to ASP.NET MVC 2.0 (unfortunately)

• Sending series of images to display like a movie on iPhone

  Allow me to elaborate more. On the server, we will have a program that will take data from iPhone and process that data and produce series of images. Each time an image is generated, it will be send back to display on iPhone. I have done all of the things above using UDP, OpenGL, and such. It works. The images are transferred to iPhone and can be displayed, but it is slow. The image's resolution is around 320 x 420 and we send the image pixels by pixels. This naive implementation leads to a slow framerate. I can see around 2-3 frames per second. There are also some UDP packets dropped, and this is expected. Are there any sort of compression method available for something like this? Are there any other method that can make this better? NOTE: please don't just write "compression" as an answer, because we are aware that we will need to do it in some ways.

• Cannot get new product attribute in grid display

  I added a new attribute to my products(a boolean "yes/no" field). It is a variable to enable/disable the price from displaying on the product detail page, and grid view. I managed to get it work on the product info page. But on product grid page I cant seem to access that variable. Specifically, the template i am working with is catalog/product/price.phtml. From what i can tell, the price is being displayed by the same group of if-statements on both the product detail page, and grid page. This has me confused because i cant find any code on that template to handle multiple products, just a bunch of nested if statements. this is how im attempting to access this new variable using $_displayPrice. on line 36 of catalog/product/price.html <?php $_product = $this->getProduct(); ?> <?php $_id = $_product->getId() ?> <?php $_displayPrice = $_product->getDisplayPrice() ? "Yes" : "No"; echo $_displayPrice;?> What has me further confused is that when display $_product-getData(), my new variable isn't anywhere among that data. thanks in advance
