• jQuery,Input buttons work in markup, but not when prepended?

  I have to buttons, image input that work fine when in the markup like this, <input type="image" class="play" src="images/play.png" /> <input type="image" class="pause" src="images/pause.png" /> But as soon as I try to prepend() it to a generated they still appear, but the click function does not work anymore. $('.gallery-nav').prepend('<input type="image" class="play" src="images/play.png" /><input type="image" class="pause" src="images/pause.png" />'); Any idea why? • jQuery event handling with .live() problem with setInterval and clearInterval

  jQuery 1.4.2: I have an image. When the mouseover event is triggered, a function is executed that runs a loop to load several images. On the contrary, the mouseout event needs to set the image back to a predetermined image and no longer have the loop executing.   This question was also asked in the cocos2d forums but they are a little slower than here. Hi, Im trying to resolve a performance issue in my game. I have all of my game images on the one spritesheet. I now have a score label for which i have generated a font file with the Hiero tool. Ideally I'd like to update my score label with the current score on every update. However there seems to be a significant performance hit when doing so, which i believe is the result of the game images texture and the font texture swapping each update. Can anyone suggest a way to avoid this? Possibly by combining the font images with the game images in the one image file to avoid the texture swapping? Cheers

• Preserving alpha issues with loaded UIImages - how to avoid discarding alpha values on import?

  My application lets the user save/load images with alpha values to the camera roll on the device. I can see in the Photos application that these images are appropriately alpha'd, as alpha'd areas just appear black. However, when I load these images back into the application using the valueForKey:UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage message to the info dictionary from (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info, the alpha values are turned to just white, making those sections opaque. Is there a way to preserve these alpha values?

• jQuery Rollovers Not Preloading

Basically if I clear my cache and visit the test page, everytime I rollover and rolloff the image it is loading the file each time, so you could sit there for hours and it would still be loading the rollover images each time. However, when I refresh the page and the images are now in the cache it works instantly, which is what I need to achieve. I've tried using this http://flesler.blogspot.com/2008/01/jquerypreload.html plugin to preload the images with this $.preload('.ro'); code, but it seems to have no effect. Any ideas?

• How to display image that is located on another server on the network (ASP.NET)

  I've got a ASP.NET site that's located on a local server (MY_SERVER). And one of the things it does is pull up tiff files which are located on another server (ANOTHER_SERVER). The location of each of these files is stored in SQL. I pull up each of these images and am supposed to display them. The problem is: the files are not named with a tiff extension (does it matter?) they aren't displaying at all. I am using an Image control to display these images, and I'm not sure if it matters that the extension is not set (does the image control know the difference between an jpg and a tiff without the extension?) I am guessing the images aren't displaying because they are not on the same server MY_SERVER that the images are located (ANOTHER_SERVER). Any ideas on how to fix this?

• Does ImageIO read imply anti-aliased scaling?

  I've replaced the Java internal ImageFetcher with an own implementation using ImageIO. Some image renderers of our software, which use these images, now draw anti-aliased scaled images instead of non anti-aliased. The only change is the source of the image, which are now BufferedImages instead of Toolkit-Images. The question now is, where is the difference? Which property causes the images to scale anti-aliased? I've always thought that the anti-alias key ONLY depends on the graphics I paint on - but this is obviously wrong. By the way: unfortunately I cannot change the renderers.

• Why is OCR(MODI.MiLANGUAGES.miLANG_ENGLISH, true, true) causing an OCR running error?

  Hi folks, I am using MODI to read tiff images and do what I need to do with the text. Some images work fine and then other tiff images always cause the method, OCR(MODI.MiLANGUAGES.miLANG_ENGLISH, true, true) to fail. I have researched this and tried different variations such as 'false','false' in the parameter list. I have also tried SYSDEFAULT instead of English but I still get the error. Can anyone please tell me why it would fail on some tiff images and not on others? I have done some research and found this answer: One possible cause is MODI trying to process a file without any recognisable text. A blank document, or one which has only drawings/scribbles and is effectively blank, will cause this exception. Obviously this is not good enough as there is no way I can have an app that decides to OCR some images and not others. I handle the exception, but the OCR object is not then initalised so I can't do what I need to do from there. This is a bloody nightmare! Why can't the method just do it's bloody job and if the image has some unreadable pages then just ignore them? I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate.   I want to keep assets that are only used by one view in a view-specific folder, so my Search.aspx properly finds images/*.jpg, and helps me maintain my convention: ~/Areas/Candidate/Views/Job/Search.aspx -> ~/Assets/Candidate/Job/Search/images/*.jpg Perhaps with the ability to easily reference controller- or area-common assets manually or automatically: ~/Assets/Candidate/Job/images/*.jpg ~/Assets/Candidate/images/*.jpg If you wonder why I'm doing this, then speak up; I'm probably missing something. But here's why: I don't want stale static assets sitting in my ASP.NET MVC projects, which I expect to be an automatic outcome of the ~/Assets/Images folder: i.e. As a shared asset loses its last reference-count, who knows to delete it, especially with it being so difficult to trace content link validity in MVC projects? How do you, personally, do this? I can imagine, for example: Implement HtmlHelper extension methods for URL-generation. Extending ViewPage and ViewMasterPage with URL-generation methods. Implementing an inbound request filter to search related folders for static assets. and, are there good libraries out there for this? For example, something that also automatically appends timestamps for .JS and .CSS files, writes the / tags for me, and maybe even that allows me to inject includes in the head section from outside head code?

• Monotouch UITableView image "flashing" while background requests are fetched

  I am in need of some help from you guys. I have a Monotouch UITableView which contains some web images. I have implemented a Task to fetch them asynchronously so the UI is responsive, an even added some animations to fade them in when they are fetched from the web. My problems start when the user scrolls down very fast down the UITableView, so since the cells are resusable, several background tasks are queued for images. When he is at the bottom of the list, he might see the thumbnail displaying an image for another cell, then another, then another, then another, as the tasks are completed and each image replaces the other one. I am in need of some sort of checking whether the currently displayed cell corresponds to the correct image url, but not sure how to do that. • Many DIVs inside parent DIV, CSS height issue

  Hi everyone, I am putting together a dynamic photo gallery and getting stuck trying to place thumbnails. Basically I am trying to place each thumbnail and caption in its own DIV, floated to the left. The thumbnails are working just as I want them to but for some reason the parent DIV refuses to cover the height of the thumbnail area. • Text editor(FCKEditor) ruby on rails/ PHP

  I have an application that is running on Rials so now I want to add the text editor(FCKEditor/TinyMCE) to adit text/uploading images on website. I have google the internet until I got FCKeditor for Rails(http://rubyforge.org/projects/fckeditorp/) "which has a function of uploading pictures but ones you uploaded the images you can't delete/rename them :( " I tried to look for another solution and I got another FCKEditor - Ajax File Manager plugin for PHP(it works fine on my Rails Application) but the problem is I need some information from rails to use it in php e.g: session for the current login user. 1.) is there anyone got an Idea on how to get those Ruby sessions in php script? 2.) I looked at saving it in javascript session and access it in php via javascript cause both can talk to Javascript. 3.) or is there any Rails text editor which has a functionality of uploading/deleting the images? 4.) Or any better way of doing this... cause the only thing I need is the text editor that will allow me to uploaded/delete images NOt via the url but the one that will save the images on the server. • Apache rewriteBase in .htaccess for development subdomains

  I think I'm missing something and don't think I really understand how rewriteBase works. The problem I have is that I have a production site where the site is in the root directory yet I have my development site in a localhost subdirectory. Eg http://www.sitename.com/ vs http://localhost/sitename/ If I have for example an images folder I want to reference the images from the site root by using the initial slash in the href. Eg Using a relative href (without the initial slash) is not an option. This will work on the production site but the development site is looking for http://localhost/images/imagename.jpg instead of http://localhost/sitename/images/imagename.jpg So I thought all I needed to do was setup the following in my .htaccess file to force the site root to my subdomain within the development environment: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /sitename But this still uses localhost as the site root instead of localhost/sitename. Can anyone please give me some pointers?

  I need to separate multiframe tiff files, and use the following method: public static Image[] GetFrames(Image sourceImage) { Guid objGuid = sourceImage.FrameDimensionsList[0]; FrameDimension objDimension = new FrameDimension(objGuid); int frameCount = sourceImage.GetFrameCount(objDimension); Image[] images = new Image[frameCount]; for (int i = 0; i < frameCount; i++) { MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); sourceImage.SelectActiveFrame(objDimension, i); sourceImage.Save(ms, ImageFormat.Tiff); images[i] = Image.FromStream(ms); } return images; } It works fine, butt if the source was encoded using the CCITT T.6 compression, separating a 20-frame-file takes up to 15 seconds on my 2,5ghz CPU. Saving the images afterwards to a single file using standard compression (LZW), the separation time is under 1 second. Is there a way to speed up the process?

• Loading all files in a directory in a Java applet

  How would one go about programatically loading all the resource files in a given directory in a JAR file for an applet? The resources will probably change several times over the lifetime of the program so I don't want to hardcode names in. Normally I would just traverse the directory structure using File.list(), but I get permission issues when trying to do that within an applet. I also looked at using an enumeration with something line ClassLoader.getResources() but it only finds files of the same name within the JAR file. Essentially what I want to do is (something like) this: ClassLoader imagesURL = this.getClass().getClassLoader(); MediaTracker tracker = new MediaTracker(this); Enumeration<URL> images = imagesURL.getResources("resources/images/image*.gif"); while (images.hasMoreElements()){ tracker.add(getImage(images.nextElement(), i); i++; } I know I'm probably missing some obvious function, but I've spent hours searching through tutorials and documentation for a simple way to do this within an unsigned applet.

• change extension obfuscate XML file contents

  I have SlideShowPro, a Flash photo app that loads an XML file with the paths to the images. Now I don't want people to go sniff in the XML file to get to the images. I tried changing the file images.xml to spacer.gif and it seems to work fine. But I would like to know if I would run into any problems changing the extension. btw already used a few techniques to make the images not so accessible, I know there is no bulletproof solution. Obfuscating the XML file is just another trick..

• Host Primary Domain from a subfolder

  I am having a problem making a sub directory act as the public_html for my main domain, and getting a solution that works with that domains sub directories too. My hosting allows me to host multiple sites, which are all working great. I have set up a subfolder under my ~/public_html/ directory called /domains/, where I create a folder for each separate website. e.g. public_html domains websiteone websitetwo websitethree ... This keeps my sites nice and tidy. The only issue was getting my "main domain" to fit into this system. It seems my main domain, is somehow tied to my account (or to Apache, or something), so I can't change the "document root" of this domain. I can define the document roots for any other domains ("Addon Domains") that I add in cPanel no problem. But the main domain is different. I was told to edit the .htaccess file, to redirect the main domain to a subdirectory. This seemed to work great, and my site works fine on it's home/index page. The problem I'm having is that if I try to navigate my browser to say the images folder (just for example) of my main site, like this: www.yourmaindomain.com/images/ then it seems to ignore the redirect and shows the entire server directory in the url, like this: www.yourmaindomain.com/domains/yourmaindomain/images/ It still actually shows the correct "Index of /images" page, and show the list of all my images. Here is an example of my .htaccess file that I am using: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?yourmaindomain.com$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/domains/yourmaindomain/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /domains/yourmaindomain/$1 RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?yourmaindomain.com$ RewriteRule ^(/)?$ domains/yourmaindomain/index.html [L] Does this htaccess file look correct? I just need to make it so my main domain behaves like an addon domain, and it's subdirectories adhere to the redirect rules.
