  • Grouping extensions in Asterisk

    We have an asterisk based phone system with multiple clients connected to it. At the moment, all the extension numbers fall in the range 100 - 9999. But, now we have an issue where a particular customer wants to come onto our service and insists on keeping their existing extension list. Is there a way of having extensions 700 for one customer, and also the same number range to another customer. But yet having them belong to a different group? I see there is a concept of groups in asterisk but none of them seem to provide a solution to this.

  • Consume an XML Feed with PowerPoint 2010

    Hi there. I'm looking for a way to consume an XML feed from a web-service directly into PowerPoint 2010. I found the LiveWeb plugin (http://skp.mvps.org/liveweb.htm) for PowerPoint that, while pretty cool, really only pulls in actual web content in a way that feels more like an iframe. Ideally, I would like to consume raw XML web service/feed with PowerPoint, parse it, and stylize the results. Is this possible? Even reading from a static XML file would be a good start.

  • How can I open a shared sub calendar in Outlook 2010?

    There is a team in my office that has a shared calendar (the team calendar is set up as a user in Active Directory/Exchange, so treat the team as a user). The team also has 3 sub-calendars for the different team members. Other people in the office need to be able to access this team's calendar. They can go to Open Calendar in Outlook and see the main calendar, but they cannot see the sub-calendars. The sub-calendars all have the Default user permissions set to Reviewer. If you go to File → Account Settings → Change [logged in Exchange account] → More Settings → Advanced and add the team's mailbox, it does show the calendars in Outlook, but it comes up under My Calendars instead of Shared Calendars. We need to be able to go to Open Calendar and open the calendar and open all the sub-calendars this way. How is this possible?

  • Rails 2 and Ngnix: https pages can't load css or js (but will load graphics)

    ADMISSION: i've posted this same question on stackoverflow, before realising it's probabaly better suited to superuser, but it kind of depends on the answer: If it turns out to be a problem in my nginx config, it's definitely superuser. If it turns out to be a problem in my Rails config (or code) then it's arguably stackoverflow. I'm adding some https pages to my rails site. In order to test it locally, i'm running my site under one mongrel_rails instance (on 3000) and nginx. I've managed to get my nginx config to the point where i can actually go to the https pages, and they load. Except, the javascript and css files all fail to load: looking in the Network tab in chrome web tools, i can see that it is trying to load them via an https url. Eg, one of the non-working file urls is https://cmw-local.co.uk/stylesheets/cmw-logged-out.css?1383759216 I have these set up (or at least think i do) in my nginx config to redirect to the http versions of the static files. This seems to be working for graphics, but not for css and js files. If i click on this in the Network tab, it takes me to the above url, which redirects to the http version. So, the redirect seems to be working in some sense, but not when they're loaded by an https page. Like i say, i thought i had this covered in the second try_files directive in my config below, but maybe not.   • Export files to remote server using TortoiseSVN

    Hi, I'm using TortoiseSVN to keep revisions of my code. When I commit changes, I take note of what files have changed and upload them to my server using FTP. Here's my workflow: Edit files on local computer (eg. files in C:\Users\Me\web) Commit changes to local repository using rightclick- TortoiseSVN- SVN Commit. Take the files, open FileZilla (FTP client) and upload the files to a remote server. I was wondering if there was a way in which I could omit step 3 from my workflow. Basically I would like the changed files to be automatically uploaded to the remote server when I commit a version to the repository. Information about my computer environment: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with TortoiseSVN x64 Notepad++ text editor Files edited are PHP, CSS, JS, HTML, etc. Server is running Linux with PHP 5.2 and MySQL. FileZilla is used to upload files. I can connect to the server via SSH if that is needed. Thank you in advance.

  • apt-get commands pausing at 'Waiting for headers'

    I have a VM running Ubuntu Server 9.10 running a basic web server setup. Whenever I run an apt function it will pause for around 1 minute at 'Waiting for headers...'. It will eventually clear through and continue as normal but it is a bit of an annoyance. Everything else on the server seems to run fine. Any ideas?

  • Port mirroring on multiple switches

    So here is the deal, I have a server on switch A where port 3 is monitoring traffic for most of the ports on switch A. However I have other users on switch B that needs to have port 3 on switch A monitor as well. Is this possible? I have been reading about rspan but doesnt seem to work. Switch A: monitor session 1 source interface fast0/1 - 2 monitor session 1 source interface fast0/4 - 46 monitor session 1 destination interface fast0/3 (this works great for switch A, I need a solution to get switch B to also have some ports sent to port 3 on switch A for monitoring.) Onxx, All the traffic on switch A is fine, there will be about 10-15 ports on switch B that I need to send to fa0/3 on switch A as the destination. I have the switches connected with a ethernet cable with a trunk port on both switches on port 48 on switch B and A and port 47 on A connects to our sonicwall. So I am assuming they are daisy chained? What if I did the following: Switch A monitor session 1 source interface fast0/1 - 2 monitor session 1 source interface fast0/4 - 46 monitor session 1 destination interface fast0/3 Put all of the ports on vlan 10 because I made an rspan vlan 10 On switch B monitor the ports I need will say 1-10 monitor session 1 source interface fast0/1 - 10 monitor session 1 destination remote vlan 10 as a prerequisite I would have created vlan 10 as a rspan vlan on switch B. Switch A Monitor session 1 destination remote vlan 10 Would this work? By the way I am working with cisco catalyst 3560 switches.

  • Windows 7 Explorer: how to show total size of all files in current folder?

    In Windows XP Explorer one can turn on Status Bar which shows, among other things, the total size of all the files in the current folder, or if the cumulative size of the selected files. How do I get the same at-a-glance information in Windows 7? Selecting files doesn't count as it stops after 15 files, and it's rare that I'm concerned about total size with that few files (it's pretty easy to estimate in my head). thanks. UPDATE: Information derived from the context menu (select r-click properties) isn't "at a glance", and not as smooth as selecting files and clicking the details link at the bottom in any case. Thank you for fleshing out more of the available routes though. Yes Q19232 is similar to this one, though it is not a duplicate. That question is about looking for easy free-space on disk stats and this one is easy used-space by contents of this folder stats. The answer for both is the same though. You can't! Hopefully someone will figure how to get this lost feature back with a shell extension or something.

  • IIS7 Rewrite rule being duplicated across 2 different websites (unwanted)

    We have a IIS7 on Windows Server 2008. It is hosting a handful of sites, on a handful of ip addresses. 2 of those sites are actually wildcards on the domain: *.firstdomain.com *.seconddomain.com However, I am finding that any URL Rewrite rules I add for one of these "websites", is automatically in the URL Rewrite section for the other. Similarly, if I disable the rule in in one, it disables in the other. This doesn't happen with the other sites defined on this server, just these two. I look at the parent (top level, the server as a whole), and the rule is not there. Any idea what's going on here?

  • Google analytics ignoring "required step" in goals

    I am A/B testing a landing page to see which converts better. The funnels are set up exactly the same in terms of the goal completion URL and funnel steps, with one exception: the first step (which is a required step) has a different URL to represent each of the two landing pages. Unfortunately, Google is tracking a conversion for both of these goals regardless of which landing page a user is reaching! It looks like the "required step" is broken...perhaps it is a deeper issue if others haven't noticed it, such as it only not working when the goal URL is the same between multiple goals. Here is an example of what I mean. Goal 1: Goal URL: /users/dashboard (head match) Funnel: 1. /homepages/index1 (required step) 2. /users/register 3. /users/edit Goal 2: Goal URL: /users/dashboard (head match) Funnel: 1. /homepages/index2 (required step) 2. /users/register 3. /users/edit As you can see, the only difference is step #1 of the funnel. Since I am A/B testing the landing page of the site, this should be the only difference. However, when I look at the goal page of Google Analytics, I see that the goal is being recorded for both of these regardless of the landing page being reached. The only tinkering I've done is attempting to wrap each funnel step's goal in ^ and $ characters for an exact regular expression match, but this didn't make a difference. Thoughts?

  • LVM Extend... not sure the filesystem

    I would like to extend my LVM partition. First I did lvextend -L +100G /dev/server/home Now I still have to extend the filesystem. The tutorials tell me to use resize2fs, but that only works for ext2 and ext3. I'm not even sure what filesystem I have... fdisk /dev/server/home/ doesn't work... how do I know what kind of filesystem I have on my lvm partition?

  • How can I search for Gmail conversations that have more than one e-mail? [closed]

    I previously used a service that sent me Slashdot articles as individual e-mails. All I had to do was give them the RSS url, and they handled the rest. On the Gmail side, I simply made a filter, labeling these e-mails as "News". Once I stopped using the service, I realized that I had more than 20,000 such e-mails stockpiled. While I could delete all "News" e-mails, there are some that I've forwarded to friends, sometimes receiving multiple replies. These conversations are valuable - I would like to keep them. As far as I can tell, there's no way to search for conversations that have more than one e-mail in the thread. Up until now, I've been deleting them page by page, carefully de-selecting the conversations that have more than one e-mail; however, it will take far too much time to complete. Is there an easier way that I'm missing? Thanks.

  • SSD not detected on boot up running windows 7, with installed blank hdd

    I have recently built a PC for a friend, after the original system build, which included a 60GB primary SSD and a secondary 1TB HDD. I kept getting blue screens of death and kernel power errors, after investigation it was revealed that a faulty power cable and insufficient thermal paste provided with the included heat sink was the cause. This resolved the problem but after 3 months I received a phone call saying that the PC was not starting at the point of loading the operating system, with an NTLDR error. I had an idea of the cause, and after the user removed the HDD the computer started up with no issues, then I asked him to power off and reattach the HDD, and this completely resolved the issue; beforehand even restarting would not fix it. He does not have a surge protector and I thought that maybe some registry corruption had occurred due to a power surge, this might be a stupid answer though. Any ideas to what occurred with the machine would be most appreciated. No other issues have been found since the initial fault. The PC uses Windows 7 Home Premium installed on the SSD.

  • Which universal or driverless printing solution do you use/recommend?

    I'm in need of a driverless printing solution for Microsoft Terminal Services 2003/2008. This is mainly to support clients who are connected through broadband into our hosted servers. We were hoping that MSTS 2008 thinprint would be the answer but unfortunately it performs poorly in the print area. The files are too large. I found the following slightly outdated URL: http://www.msterminalservices.org/software/Printing/ This lists a number of products but I have no experience with any of them. I'd like a product that works/easy to install (as our clients are remote and not particularly tech savvy) and ideally I just pay for the server license and not every clients.   • Why does pinging a local router return "Destination Host Unreachable"?

    I have two tomato routers. One is bridged wirelessly with the other. I have a new server on the network. It's running Ubuntu Server 11.04. They are all connected like this: A - Linux PC B - New Server C - Mac Mini D - Macbook T1 - Tomato 1 T2 - Tomato 2 They are connected like so: A -----+-T1 ==== wireless bridge ==== T2----- ADSL modem | | C & D Connected wirelessly to T2 B -----+ A, C & D do not experience any issues. I have an active SSH session to B from A and it's not experiencing any loss. B, the new server occasionally cannot ping T2 and therefore cannot connect to the internet. However, A can always contact B and B can ping A and B When the network is lost, B can still ping T1, but not T2 yet at the same as B has lost connection to T2, A can still ping T2. Any ideas on what this could be? there is nothing that gives any clues in any of the logs on either router or the linux server. One thing that is interesting is that I set up a ping running between B and T2. Currently, when my test website builds its assigned to 127.0.0.1:81 but I want this to instead have a name like "website.dev" that is accessible on my local network ?   • Add site to trusted sites through GPO

    I need to add a site to trusted sites on all computers in my domain. I can do it with the "site to zone assignment list", however when I do, it locks trusted sites on the client computer "this setting is managed by your administrator". What I need is a way to add the site, make it persistant, and not affects the users ability to add trusted sites of thier own. (It's a development enviroment, sites are created and tested regularly, they need that ability.)
