    Anyone know of any tools to migrate emails from register.com's webmail to anything else (gmail, local mbox, anything!), I have nearly 15 years of mails and folders I want to keep. Other than spending ages writing some Perl scraper code I wondered if anyone else had already done this. sorry - It's impossible to search Google for the name of a registrar!

  • win 7: copy all files from a complex folder structure to one folder

    I'd have a complex folder structure like: h:\folder1\folder2\folder3 h:\folder1\folder2\a h:\folder1\b h:\folder1\folder3 h:\folder1\folder4\d Only with probably 100's of folders and a depth of around 4 (I'm guessing) Anyway I want to run a command that will move all the files from every sub folder into the top level folder. so something like h:\folder1\*\*.* to h:\folder1 Is there a tool I can use to do this? does win 7 have a command that will do this?   • windows 7 logging off standard users

    I've a Windows 7 installation with 2 users, one administrator and the other is not. If I try to logon with the standard user it show the Welcome Screen and them logoff immediately. If I logon with the administrator user or if I set the standard used as an administrator it works without problems. Any idea? Windows 7 Ultimate running on a netbook, AVG Antivirus, no special software or any other specific configuration. Regards Massimo

  • Using a SD card as a smart card for two-step verification for Mac logon

    What I am trying to do is create two-step verification to logon to my mac, one being that you would need to input a SD card (formated with special format or something) and then also have a password. Is there any software out there that could do this or any way of programming it so that once it reads the SD Card it makes the password bar visible for logon. Would it be easier to do it with Linux since it is open source? Any help in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks

Trying to tar entire directory but exclude all those directories and any files in those folders completely.

    One of our customers habitually use very long path names (several nested folders, with long names) and we routinely encounter "user education issues" in order to shorten the path to less than 260 characters. Is there a technical solution available, can we flick some sort of switch in Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 to say "yeah just ignore these historical problems, and make +260 character path name work". P.S. I have read and been totally unedified by Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces

    hi, I did installed xampp on my macbook a day before. It worked perfectly yesterday. But today when I try to start the phpmyadmin it gives the following error: Can't create/write to file '/var/folders/Uu/UuhwtR9xE3Ozsao8ttdIWU+++TI/-Tmp-/#sql1b5_8_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13) Can anybody tell the solution for this problem.   • Move files on windows7 ntfs dead slow?

    Just installed Win7, and i noticed when i move a file/folder, it actually copies, then deletes. I noticed because if i want to move 40 GB, I must have 40 GB free space. On XP, if I am moving folders and files within the same partition, no matter size, are moved instantly. Only the number of files matters. Any way to get around this? Thanks.

How do I change the owner to be the server name? and How do I find out what name the server is using? Currently I am protecting private video files using zip compression with password but it is very inconvenient. The folders/files have to be natively accessible once the split is done (no compression or physical splitting that would require a later join), and the folder structure should still remain intact as it spaces discs.     system info: i have installed XAMPP on my machine having Window XP OS . also installed Apache2.2, now, i have created two folders in C:\xampp\htdocs they are php and perl . these folder contains programs in their respective languages (ie index.php and index.pl respectively) when i type in browser : http: //localhost:88/php/ the program in index.php gets executed and o/p is displayed in browser but , when i type: http://localhost:88/perl/ browser displays a blank page PROBLEM : how to run .pl file in above scenario ?

I'm doing this because I'd like to build an embedded system that fires some special behavior by a single GSM phone ring. How can I do It? I've tried wvdial but I receive always a "NO CARRIER" answer when I try to send It an "ATDT XXX-phone-number-to-dial-XXX" command.
