  Recently a colleague remarked that if he got a List of some type out of the ASP.NET Cache, and changed an item, the Cache item would also change.That is correct.   I finally did the work necessary to improve the codegen for finally handlers. More improvements are still possible, but at least most finally handlers will now execute without touching the exception object (and hence without having to do any mapping/stack trace collection work).   You've put [HandleError] on your controller and you've set <customErrors mode="On"> in the web.config file. So why do you still see the yellow screen of death? I've heard various wrong explanations for this phenomena, including "it only works under IIS" and "it only works in release mode". But the custom error view does work in debug mode and it does work with the Visual Studio WebDev web server. • XML/XSL Module 04.03.05 is now officially released.

  XML/XSL Module 04.03.05 is a maintenance release. Download is available from Codeplex. Changes were required to fix issues caused by conflicts with a new namespace in DotNetNuke 5.3. as the XML module did not use fully qualified namespaces everywhere. Please upgrade to XML 4.3.5 before upgrading your DNN version to 5.3.1 and above.   We usually have between 40 and 80 people attending our regular meeting at the Montreal .NET Community.  This week, we had a special Windows Phone 7 blitz with 2 meetings. The topics were very good: Tou.tv and Flickr apps development retro feedback from the teams who wrote them. In the first meeting, RunAtServer discussed how they built the Tou.tv WP7 app for Radio-Canada.  In the second meeting, nVentive discussed how they built the WP7 and Slate clients for Flickr. • How to change the IP address on my Ubuntu virtual NIC

  I have a physical windows system, on which I run Vmware Workstation. Now on VMware I run Ubuntu 12.10. I am running a webserver on Ubuntu via LAMP, inside VMware. Problem: Now my local IP address for my virtual NIC (the one Ubuntu is using) has an address of 192.168.159.7, and my home router only issues IP addresses of the range 10.0.0.x. So if I want to port forward to the virtual NIC, which has a 192.168 address, I cannot, so my LAMP webserver cannot be accessed externally since the router does not know to send the packets on port 80 to the virtual NIC... How do I fix that? The only way I guess is to assign a 10.0.0.x ip address to the virtual NIC?? But how do I do that? I tried to do it on the host Windows machine with 'Get my IP address automatically' but it issues a 192.168 address every time... Thank you

• SOA Patterns book &ndash; your opinion needed

  It has been quite awhile since I added anything new to the book. I have my reasons (some would probably say excuses :) ) mainly that finding the energy and time to write is very hard with a wife, 3 kids and a startup.
