  I am trying to get one of my developers set up to work on a fairly large .NETCF project. When we try to simply deploy the solution and all of its projects to a target device, deploying one of the projects triggers several assemblies from the desktop framework to be copied from the GAC to the device. What on earth could cause this? The assemblies from the "big" framework are ones like System.DirectoryServices, System.Design, and a bunch of others.

  I'm looking to do a parallel programming project in C (probably using pthreads or maybe OpenMP) for a class. It will done by a group of about four students, and should take about 4 weeks. I was thinking it would be interesting to attack some NP-complete problem with a more complex algorithm like a genetic algo with simulated annealing, but I'm not sure if it would be a big enough project. Anyone knew of any cool problems that could benefit from a parallel approach?

The problem is that when I read small chunks of data (in the order of KBs) multiple times, each read take the same amount of time as the previous one. How can I know if the disk is being accessed to fulfill my request or whether the request is being fulfilled from main memory (page cache) in calls after the first one.

However, its been several years even since I've read those books, and PHP 6 is still not considered kosher for production use. I don't have any problems when I install it in external storage, but when I upload it to phone before installing, the APK goes to internal storage and my testing phone doesn't have enough space in internal storage and a lot of android phones don't have enough internal space for 70 MB... Can I upload my APK straight to the SD Card instead of internal storage first? upload mean "upload from my eclipse while runnig , or download from market, apk will go to internal storage but i want apk go to external and start install from external"

Actually, thoses rows are stored in the same table = slow to update, hard to backup, ...   So i'm making small program and it download ziped XML database file that is ~30 MB size (unziped). As I understand there is only way with such big files on iPhone, it's to use NSXMLParser. But that file is encoded with windows-1257 format and NSXMLParser does not eat files like that. What can I do?
